Hey all i was playing around with my captivate last night and I couldn't get my phone to reboot into the system. I made a backup and I can boot into clockwork mod only problem is my backup won't work and I keep looping into recovery... Is there anything that I can possibly do to reinstall the factory settings from Clockwork?

I have an original Droid X that I had flashed Rubix Focused 2.0 onto and it was working fine but i decided I wanted to go back to my original backup that I had created using ROM Manager, after going into Clockwork Recovery to wipe my data and my cache. I then attempted to go into the restore section of Clockwork Recovery and restore from my original backup. However after several attempts of trying this process I cannot get my phone to restore from that backup file which happens to be my only backup. My phone seems to get stuck on webview.db
I am not sure what this process is that it keeps getting stuck on however it is preventing me from going back to my original backup and thus my phone is completely useless. Any ideas on how to work around this issue or fix it so I can have my regular DX back?
I've installed MIUI on the Nook Color and now would like to restore it back to factory settings, but can't! What am I doing wrong?
I've booted into ClockWorkMod Recovery and did a wipe, but it still boots back into MIUI. I also installed CWM on a microSD and booted into recovery from there to perform a wipe, and still it won't work.
Is there a way to perform the 8 interrupted boots??
Any help is appreciated.
Never mind... I think I figured it out.
I just have to download the complete restore file and restore from that.
So, I was able to get 3e and clockworkmod recovery installed on my Infuse. (A great accomplishment for me, trust me)
I went through the process of wiping data and caches to install my new ROM but I put the two zips (Cyan7 & Google Apps) on the external sdcard so when I went to install them I couldn't see them. I thought my only option then was to chose to restore from backup in CM recovery and now I'm stuck on the Samsung boot logo.
I tried a battery pull and VOLup/VOLdwn/POWER to try to get into recovery but I'm still stuck on the boot logo. What can I do now?
I'd really appreciate your help. Cheers.
Hello,
Installed CWM to perform a migration out from the factory original Frodo level.
Took a backup with it. When reboot instead of booting again the std Frodo level it keeps booting into the CWM recovery.
Tried to clear the caches.
Tried to download an exitrecovery.zip file (renamed as update.zip, moved into the removable card first and later into the sdcard by using the CWM USB mount), executed successfully but didn't fix the problem.
Restored the backup level performed at the begining, but still boots into CWM.
Any hint or procedure to get rid of it? Even just restoring everything back to factory levels (I'm afraid to do this drastic step and still get the CWM recovery screen when other alternative action might be applicable).
Thanks!!
Ok, so I asked this in XDA Assist but can't post reply there.
This is what happened on my Xperia mini St15i, with firmware 4.1.B.0.587:
1. I turned on Bluetooth and the phone got stuck in infinite boot loop - apparently this is a known bug.
2. I decided to try out CM 9. Installed CWM Recovery and did backup on sd card and flashed CM.
3. I remembered that I did the backup earlier so I thought maybe there is a way to keep my apps and data.
4. I went back to CWM and restored from backup. CM didn't boot then, so I flashed back stock rom with flashtool and booted the phone. The apps and data was there( at least for one app which was very important), but contacts and messages were gone.
So my question is, is there a way to recover ALL user data from the backup? I don't care if it's on stock rom or CM at this point.
I hope some of you knowledgeable people can help!
Many thanks,
Paul
Can someone please help. :crying:
I managed to restore it with all the data by trial and error (I don't know HOW). Then at night the phone lost battery and is back to rebooting forever.
If I restore all via CWM and then flash stock, it boots up saying "Android is upgrading" and then keeps rebooting.
If I do a factory reset via CWM and flash stock rom, the phone is back to factory setting with no data.
WHICH partitions should I recover and which should I flash to retain the data??? HELP :crying:
