Unable to fastboot AMON RA recovery... - Hero CDMA Android Development

I have rooted with Universal Androot & confirmed I do indeed have root. I am not trying to setup a recovery(AMON RA's), so am using the fastboot method, yet when I try & goto the second step & enter 'fastboot boot recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2-green.img' I end up with the following error...
FAILED (remote: not allow)
I looked for any info on this & saw something about a perfect SPL? Not exactly sure what that is or if it's even related, but if anyone could help, boy, would I appreciate the guidance.
Thanks all!

I never managed to get Quickboot/Fastboot to work with Amon RA. Unless you really need it, I suggest Clockwork, I haven't had issues with that (Sense 2.1 and Froyo ROMs)

Error while flash RAV1.2.0G.img on myTouch

I have flashed myTouch last night using One Click with the Cyanogen_3.9.11.2_32a ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544854
i don't think it works because you are still stuck with the perfect spl. I might be wrong on this. Not sure. Have you also checked that you put the recovery image in your fastboot location?

if you have a mytouch you have a 32B board. And yet you have installed a 32A rom.... but trying to put a 32B recovery image on..... maybe this is the cause....
next time don't start a new thread for this- post it in the thread about the recovery image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530492&page=10
Yeh, I know i have done this a few times but you really didn't need a new post for this. there are already alot of posts and a simple search would have found. But anyway
On your device since you have used the one click method you are able to install different roms using a security loop hole of the kernal. How ever you are still running the "perfected" spl so you are not going to be able to do that using the method that you did. If you want the other recovery image on your device you will need to do the gold card method that Amon_ra had posted. It is not as complicated as it looks. but that will get you what you are looking for.
thanks for your reply, and apologize for creating burden.
All I want is quick and easy way to flash HERO ROM on my T-Mobile MyTouch device. I have tried all options flashing the recovery image. Please help!
in my opinion, do not use the one click root... use Amon_Ra's method, worked fine for me.

Downgrading 32B 1.6 Vodafone Magic

Ive been looking all over the forum to find a answer to this but it ive getting many different answers and dont know which one is right. My phone is a HTC Magic UK vodafone brand with a 32b board. It also has the newest 1.6 OTA update installed with the 1.33.0004 HBOOT. Ive been told that i need to downgrade to 1.5 but using the command "fastboot boot <Recovery Image>" im able to load the Amon-RA recovery. Using the recovery ive been able to create a nandroid backup but my question is if i used the recovery to wipe then install a ROM will this break the phone or do i need to downgrade first. Also could i flash the recovery image instead of just booting it.
I have the same phone as you.
I followed:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_MT3G/Magic_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
Goto the "Non-TMobile 32B Magics" section and follow. It's what I did and it seemed to be the only way to get my phone to 1.5. You have to put it to 1.5 as 1.5 has a security hole in it to allow you to gain Root access to the device.
Thank You, i'll have read through and if i fully understand it i'll give it a go.
ive getting up to the point where it asks me to enter the command "adb push C:\recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img /sdcard/RA152G.img" the command says it completed successfully but the file wasnt on the sdcard. I copied the file manually and renamed it to RA152.img and entered the command from the guide "adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/RA152G.img", the command prompt said "flashing recovery from /sdcard/RA152G.img" and nothing after that. After resetting the phone into the recovery mode, its just the default recovery mode so it hasnt flashed correctly. Does anyone know what i should do now.
Edit: Ive tryed using fastboot but it said signature verify failure
Re-download the file, do an MD5 check on it and then flash the phone again.

Thanks MilanoChris buit ive checked the MD5 and tryed to reflash it about 10 times.
I still havn't managed to root it yet anyone got any ideas?
The command "adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/RA152G.img" isn't working there is no error message but when I boot into recovery it is the original one. Does anyone know any why it hasn't actually flashed it and alternative commands I can use instead.
Edit: Also using the command "adb push C:\recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img /sdcard/RA152G.img" doesn't work, it says it was successful but when I check the sdcard it isn't there. Anyone know why this is.
If you haven't downgraded yet the recovery won't flash. All of the steps for non-tmobile 32B's are after downgrading. The only thing that is different is how you get the recovery flashed. Are you still having issues with the sappimg.nbh file from Cyanogen?
Thanks but how do I downgrade first as the guide on the site doesnt have a section for dowgrading non mytouch magics.
Sorry if I wasn't very clear on that! The guide is a little frankensteined for you folks using non mytouch magics. What you want to do is follow the normal procedures for downgrading. As soon as you have downgraded to 1.5 in the normal steps it's time to jump over to the non tmobile specific procedures using adb.
Hope this is a little more clear!

Goddamit Im So ****ing Ruined , Please Help Me

I've got a job telephone and I've been flashing and **** for long so im not that new
It all started with the new ****ing update that came out the RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_NoDriver
I unrooted and got the right SPL/RADIO
Flashed it everything worked , then i wanted to try Cursorsense.
I made a goldcard putted the damn sappimg and it says
CID INCORRECT! Update fail!
So i formated it to FAT32 and did everything again same ****.
I tried going forward clicking return and it says fastboot boot recovery-new.img
downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: not allow)
Then i tried to update via HOME+POWER
And it says Installing from sdcard
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E: No Signature (453 files)
E: Verification failed
Installation aborted.
So im ruined there is no way to root?
I have tried the 1clickroot
Goldcard
What can the fault be?
Been trying for at least 5 hours searching and ****
Now im going to sleep and going to check this thread tomorrow
Would have been awesome if you could help me , can pay if really needed ( I would not like to pay but can )

Please be more specific ,
Thank you for a fast answer
If U updated with RUU.exe You are stuck with perfected SPL that currently can`t be bypass with goldcard ... U must wait for someone who`ll break this new SPL.

If U did it thru official RUU.exe. I`m 100% sure ... It was written here lot of times ... Instead of use RUU.exe i should make this via fastboot not RUU and flash only ROM without perfected SPL.
Unfortunately you forgot to read around before flashing. Someone's bound to fix this soon, but in the meantime you hosed yourself.
I dont think youll be in despare much longer. Someone will crack the new SPL soon enough.

Thats kinda what you get for being impatient and not reading anythign before jumping to download/flash.
Try to apply this update over, and do the following (thanks siraf):
Download this recovery, and put it on the root of your SD.
Then boot your phone to recovery, connect USB and type the following:
Code:
adb shell
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2.img
Download update-hboot-1.76.2007-signed.zip, put it in the root of your SD and boot your phone into recovery again. Then go to apply zip from the SD (must use answer call button to press). Apply the update-hboot-1.76.2007-signed.zip.
I'm not 100 % sure this will work. Please post results!

lmfao all im sayin is that if your not to new to the whole flashing thing you would of known of the dilemas everyone is having with 3.03 lol, i seriously cannot believe you UNROOTED just to try it, i cant stop laughing sorry
Im fairly new to android (got my phone in Oct) and it took me a while to get the hang of this. The one thing you could do before flashing something is to do some reasearch or ask someone you trust. If not things will get ugly. This is no toy, this is some serious ****

Hmm. That's odd. Can ADB find your phone using:
Code:
adb devices
?
mine shows my phone using adbn devices but still come up with the same error of FAILED (Remote not allow)
That error is due to your perfected SPL. Not an adb issue.

Installing Cyanogenmod...

Okay for starters my phone info is in my signature (see below...) the phone is known to have a perfected SPL, what I'm trying to do is install cyanogenmod using adb according to the 'Non-TMobile 32B Magics' section of the 'Full Update Guide - MT3G/Magic Firmware to CyanogenMod' WIKI
however after I have typed and entered this command (replacing the folder structure to my own)
Code:
fastboot boot C:\recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img
I get the following:
Code:
E:\tools>fastboot boot recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G.img
downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: not allow)
so is my phone unable to receive commands via adb? what course of action is left to me now?
I copied both DRC83_base_defanged.zip & update-cm-4.2.15.1-signed.zip to the root of my sdcard after I had formatted it from within the phone
Thanks in advance!
"FAILED (remote: not allow)" On top of the fact you have a 0007 SPL means it's perfected. You'll need to make a gold card and downgrade to an engineering SPL (such as 2005 or what works for your device) in order to be able to flash anything.

As far as I'm aware its dubious to claim that a particular brand works across the board. If it doesn't work with your 2GB (Assuming you did the process correctly) Then the card simply cannot be used as a gold card, you'll need to try another such as a sandisk.
Okay I have a Goldcard!!!! as you can tell I'm over the moon
so now that I have one, I have no idea what to do with it so can you point me to an up-to-date tut? as I really don't wish to brick my phone
Okay last post before I go to bed (should have been there at least 2 hours ago )
So I think I have to use Amon_RA's instructions in this thread:
[How-To] Root and un-root the T-Mobile myTouch 3G
however the part which confuses me is reverting back to the 32B radio, and at what point do I install the cyanogenmod rom?
if someone could bullet point the steps I would be most grateful

Thanks but I still need to get my head around the last bit, SO how would I apply the below to the cyanogenmod? as you have to first install HTC official base image and then the cyanogenmod rom...
Revert to 32B Radio and ROM :
- Download your favorite 32B ROM and copy it to your sdcard
- Download the Ion radio image from the HTC site.
- Extract radio.img from ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip using your favorite rar/zip program.
- Download my 32B RAv1.2.0G recovery.
- Fastboot your mobile and connect it via USB :
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RAv1.2.0G.img
- press MENU to power off! (do not reboot)
- hold HOME and POWER to boot into recovery mode
- apply update

Help needed - part bricked Sensation

Hi all,
Hope someone can help. I have a UK Vodafone-locked Sensation. I unlocked it with HTCDEV and applied permanent root solution, then feeling very smug, I dowloaded CM9 and rebooted. CM9 hung on the boot screen and I did a bit more reading and found I should have S-OFF as well - or used a rom with the same kernel version as the Voda rom
So I tried a restore from my original back-up and something is corrupted so I can't get back to the original Vodafone rom and won't boot into CM9. I have tried finding an original Voda rom, but the two I tried failed with an "incorrect firmware" response. The firmware appears to be 3.32 - is that correct, or is that coming from the CM9 install?
I "think" I have a couple of options:
1. Find an original Voda rom that matches the firmware - assuming the 3.32 is original
2. Find an alternative ROM that will load with the phone still S-ON, rooted and unlocked
Any and all help appreciated - point me to the Voda rom I can't otherwise find, an alternative rom or advice on the firmware.
Cheers
Robert

Hi,
Look HERE
The idea is to install 4 EXT recovery.
Then, go into recovery and find "wipe".
"Format all partitions except sd card".
Then, use the "Smartflash" option to flash a ROM.
Read the thread carefully.
It is all explained in there.

Thanks for this - unfortuntely I think I still need a little further help. I have Clockwork mod recovery installed and I think I can install 4EXT over that simply by flashing, however in a previous session, I "relocked" the phone.
