I've got a job telephone and I've been flashing and **** for long so im not that new
It all started with the new ****ing update that came out the RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_NoDriver
I unrooted and got the right SPL/RADIO
Flashed it everything worked , then i wanted to try Cursorsense.
I made a goldcard putted the damn sappimg and it says
CID INCORRECT! Update fail!
So i formated it to FAT32 and did everything again same ****.
I tried going forward clicking return and it says fastboot boot recovery-new.img
downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: not allow)
Then i tried to update via HOME+POWER
And it says Installing from sdcard
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E: No Signature (453 files)
E: Verification failed
Installation aborted.
So im ruined there is no way to root?
I have tried the 1clickroot
Goldcard
What can the fault be?
Been trying for at least 5 hours searching and ****
Now im going to sleep and going to check this thread tomorrow
Would have been awesome if you could help me , can pay if really needed ( I would not like to pay but can )
Thanks for reading and helping!

That wont work because i need a perfect for my offical rom
Or what do you mean?
Please be more specific ,
Thank you for a fast answer
If U updated with RUU.exe You are stuck with perfected SPL that currently can`t be bypass with goldcard ... U must wait for someone who`ll break this new SPL.

If U did it thru official RUU.exe. I`m 100% sure ... It was written here lot of times ... Instead of use RUU.exe i should make this via fastboot not RUU and flash only ROM without perfected SPL.
Unfortunately you forgot to read around before flashing. Someone's bound to fix this soon, but in the meantime you hosed yourself.
I dont think youll be in despare much longer. Someone will crack the new SPL soon enough.

Thats kinda what you get for being impatient and not reading anythign before jumping to download/flash.
Try to apply this update over, and do the following (thanks siraf):
Download this recovery, and put it on the root of your SD.
Then boot your phone to recovery, connect USB and type the following:
Code:
adb shell
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2.img
Download update-hboot-1.76.2007-signed.zip, put it in the root of your SD and boot your phone into recovery again. Then go to apply zip from the SD (must use answer call button to press). Apply the update-hboot-1.76.2007-signed.zip.
I'm not 100 % sure this will work. Please post results!

Im fairly new to android (got my phone in Oct) and it took me a while to get the hang of this. The one thing you could do before flashing something is to do some reasearch or ask someone you trust. If not things will get ugly. This is no toy, this is some serious ****

Hmm. That's odd. Can ADB find your phone using:
Code:
adb devices
?
mine shows my phone using adbn devices but still come up with the same error of FAILED (Remote not allow)
That error is due to your perfected SPL. Not an adb issue.

Since some people were interested I've made a stock update zip from the RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.20.651.1_signed_test.exe so you can flash via recovery.
This is just for those who want a completely stock rom to work off of or those that can't or don't want to run the RUU. If you want something already tweaked then use DamageControl. I'm not trying to start a custom rom I just did this for a couple people that wanted it.
It does not include the new hboot or radio.img included in the RUU and the system is stock except for adding busybox, patched su and sh.
To use su you need to install Superuser.apk.
Busybox is not installed by default you can do that through a terminal app or adb executing su and running "busybox --install /system/xbin".
You must be rooted and flash via Amon_ra recovery. Recommend nandroid backup and wipe/factory reset before flashing.
Here is a link to my post on how to make an update zip from the RUU.
Download link for the update/rom:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6022412/zen-hero_0.1b.zip
The link might be down since dropbox just suspended my public links due to excessive traffic.
Alternate download:
http://www.4shared.com/file/YqMmKAzL/zen-hero_01b.html
This is a link to my google code site where i put up some of the binaries/scripts that I use for rom making. These are linux binaries. If you download them put them in your path so you can execute them from anywhere. Also make sure you chmod them to executable. If you don't know how the google can tell you.
http://code.google.com/p/zen-droid/downloads/list
Due to recent events I just want to say that the devs here put a lot of work into getting you guys these leaked roms. They risk their credibility and their sources risk their jobs. So have some respect and remember it's just a phone.
Thank you,I'm sure a lot of people were wanting this.
What is the point of making a zip when you can just use the RUU?
My RUU just got done booting!

Now this might be a stupid question, but do we need Root for this? I have a friend who's terrified of Rooting but really wants 2.1, so could he just Flash this through the Stock Recovery Image, or should I force him to Root?
Edit: NVM sorry I just read the 1st post on page 2. Told you it was a stupid question.
It seems like the flash_image command is missing.
I have a problem with the Nexus S. After unlocking and rooting I waited a few days and decided to put a custom rom on it. The device is a few days old.
I installed rom manager and clockwork, just installed through there for ease of use.
Anyways, it started, but just booted into recovery not wanting to boot phone, stuck at the google-splash.
I deleted everything, to no avail. Flashing roms from recovery brings up a bunch of error messages "aborting installation" "status 7" and "cannon't read xxx.zip". I tried installing a few different roms to see if the files were corrupt, but that didn't work either. So I formatted the sd card from my computer, thinking the "sd-card" might be bad, then it refused to read or mount it any other ways than "usb-storage". So i just booted and left it thinking the device was probably lost until I figured out how to restore via ADB.
I moved it and it was at the login screen for Axura (one of the roms) I logged in and thinking great, wanting to flash something else, did it again, and back to stuck at splash.
Anyway, what I really need is some sort of idiots guide to using adb, I'm on OS X and the terminal there drives me nuts - so, anyways, any of the above sounds familiar, I'd appreciated any help.
Trying to install it says:
Extract: Recovery
Extract: System
Symlink: Toolbox
Symlink: Iwulticall
Symlink: Busybox
Set: Permissions
Flash: Kernel
assert failed: write_raw_image (2/tmp/boot.img"-"boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/Axura....zip (status 7)
Installation aborted.
I've tried flashing from adb it just tells me "remote: write fail"
First things first, have you tried doing a factory reset/wipe of the phone? If so have you tried one of the ODIN tools to return it completely to stock and get rid of everything you've done?
If you haven't tried those things, I would start there. ADB isn't what you need to fix your phone. Also, what method did you use to root?
Haven't tried Odin yet, but pulled my work wintel-laptop from the dock and brought it home, so will probably try that.
So no, odin is not tried yet.
I rooted with "Superboot"-thing (the name should probably have been a tip off...)
The root however seemed to be a bit, well, not quite rooted, i couldn't really make it backup, it wrote one eventually, and then I tried installing a new mod and then all went down the toilet.
BTW - I think I need drivers for the pc to recognize the Nexus S but I can't find any...?

You do indeed need drivers which you can find by clicking the root link in my sig and going to the link in the top of my thread (also, once all is said and done you can use my guide to root. You need to download one zip file and run a few commands and you're rooted). There are drivers for Windows there.

If I understand correctly, you were able to flash the su file in 3.0.0.5, correct? Before you reverted to an older clockwork, did you try flashing a rom by any chance?

Yes, I tried flashing several roms before writing the op and before reverting to 3.0.0.0. One worked eventhough the install told me it was aborted.
I've reformatted the "SD-card" several times.
Just now it gave me a write fail
Code:
T850:adb-fastboot user$ /Users/user/Desktop/adb-fastboot/fastboot flash boot /Users/usere/Desktop/GRI40-2.3.3-stock.zip
sending 'boot' (91238 KB)... OKAY

Edit:
Now it's telling me
Code:
Exceed blocks 0x00000165 > 0x0000001e
when attempting to fastboot flash the device.
Now it's telling me when I try to boot (instead of hanging at splash screen):
No boot or recovery img
I'm also unable to format any of the partitions from Recovery.
Seems the phone is bricked, no one seems to know what the partitions do and how you can restore them. I've pretty much been through every.
The phones memory is either ****ed or I'm just out of luck.

I've tried flashing a base rom, the problem is, that the memory/partitions are broken/do not exist, nothing can be flashed to it, "write error" and "Exceed blocks" is what I get when I try to flash anything. The internal memory is broken, I guess, I don't know, doesn't work, at any rate.

Not really any issue between the two. T-Mobile just retards the animation of the network popping from 3g to 4g as to where the euro version displays it a little more accurately. Sol safe to flash. I'm on a euro Rom now and my phone is US version. Flash away.

Yet I do. Fastboot is my only option anyway, as I have soft-bricked my stock ROM and cannot boot into anything but the bootloader / fastboot or recovery anymore.
searching through google, most people get rid of the error by running it in fastboot, its strange that it doesnt work for you..
you could try extracting the rom.zip from RUU and changing the name rom.zip to PJ4010000.zip (make sure its not .zip.zip) and booting into bootloader, and let HBOOT find the upgrade..
EDIT: just realised you cant get into recovery or boot phone, Please ignore what i said
Does the adb command ''fastboot reboot recovery'' not take you into recovery ? Have you also tried putting the rom inside adb folder and using command ''fastboot flash XXXXX.zip'' XXXX being the name of the rom

I am able to get into fastboot and also CWM, but my sdcard is inaccessible ("error mounting /sdcard"), so I am left with whatever can be done through adb or fastboot. I am assuming the method described above only works when putting the PJ4010000.zip file on the sdcard, right?
Edit: I also tried pushing several zips using fastboot, similar to what you described above. I always get a signature verification error.

Yes, I did. I just updated my prior post with more details of that attempt.
Thanks for trying to help me, I appreciate it!
but you said you tried pushing them, and in the code bit, it says fatsboot flash /system blabla.zip
you dont want to be flashing it from system, Simply put the ROM you want to flash, or the extracted rom.zip inside the location on your PC where you keep adb and fastboot files, Then use the command ''fastboot flash whateverromyouwant.zip'' this way bootloader will attempt to flash the rom directly from your PC not from your phone.

first off, I want to thank you Sir for pointing me to the IRC channel. Those guys, especially Ghanesh, were serious pros. They spent a good couple of hours with me on troubleshooting and trying different things. They couldn't quite fix it for me, but afterwards I engaged in some more trial-and-error and found out that I could restore access to the sdcard in CWM by flashing back to stock recovery, then choosing to "clear storage", then flashing a CWM version again. This brought the sdcard back to life.
I explain it in more detail here:

Again, truly appreciate your help yesterday -- it encourage me to try different things on my own after

At this point i just want to restore it back to normal , idc if i lose data , i just want my phone to WORK! I've flashed a clean recovery.img but whenever i try to access recovery , it brings me back to that screen with the red words. In addition , my phone is rogers so i can't even find a correct RUU to install. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get my phone to work again ? Any help is greatly welcomed !
P.S Wow i think it got worse , now it doesnt even loop again , it goes start into that menu bootloader, reboot , power down.. Omg i spent 5 hours looking into this. I NEED HELP!

..... It says that on every One X, it's HTC telling whoever turns the phone on that you used HTCDev.com
Make Sure you have TWRP (recovery) flashed/installed ... then in the bootloader go into recovery and flash cm10 ... and since you probably have the newer hboot 1.14 that means that you HAVE to flash the kernel (boot.img) via fastboot
Which is simple,
flash cm10
then reboot into the bootloader > fastboot
extract the boot.img from the cm10.zip
and fastboot flash boot boot.img
then your done reboot and enjoy.... (anything else read threw the forum, all your answers have been asked by somebody else already)
On rogers he won't have the 1.14 hboot, which means all he has to do is install the rom.
Try flashing the recovery again (TWRP ONLY!)
And then reinstall CM10

That might be your problem. CWM isn't supported for this phone and has been known to corrupt data.
Links for all the files you need are in a sticky in the Development forum. Here's the link for TWRP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1677447
Once you've got that, you can wipe your phone inside TWRP (don't do it in bootloader--you'll have to reformat your sd card), and reflash CM10.
That link requires me to use that GOO manager? Confused lol i have TWRP on my computer but not sure the steps to use it ..

You can't use Goomanager if the phone doesn't boot. You need to push it over to your phone using adb, then you can flash it from recovery.

Beat me to it.
Read up, get adb working. Then you can install TWRP using adb.
So first i need to get adb working , then install TWRP to wipe my phone? To access that i flash TWRP and go into recovery right ?
EDIT: So .. i've downloaded that adb , and i got a bunch of files.. what do i do with this? I put them into my fastboot folder in my C drive.. Also i need to unlock my phone to do this right ? Cause i accidently relocked it .
EDIT: OKAY i rooted my phone , and got into TWRP , tried a factory rest under the wipe menu. http://i48.tinypic.com/13yklep.jpg It says fails.. what do i do ?
Go to mount usb storage (not sure which screen its on) while it's plugged into your computer
If windows says the card is corrupted, format it fat32, then copy over a rom onto your sd card

Okay got into mount http://i47.tinypic.com/2cq085x.jpg then a screen pops up , is this the one? http://i45.tinypic.com/m7ur08.jpg
EDIT: Okay so i need to copy a rom onto my phone via usb. Do i copy over the boot.img, system and NETA-INF from cm10 ?
So i put the cm10 zip onto my sdcard (my phone) and i got this when i want to install .. should i proceed? http://i45.tinypic.com/28uts7n.jpg

The Rogers HTC One X IS a HTC One XL. Rogers just branded it. The OneX has the Tegra 3 Quad Core Processor, the One XL has the S4 Dual Core Processor. Your phone is the same as the ATT Version. Trust me

No problem. Just be glad you didn't flash an international Rom. They can render your device completely unusable. Remember only flash things from this forum and enjoy

After all that, lol. At least he had the sense to stop and ask.
HTC Sensation 1.27 stuck at boot screen after rom change
Yes yes, and another noob reporting for duty after screwing up the rom proces, it took me about 6 hours today after dozens of guides, broken links, outdated software and offline sites to get my phone rooted and i thought, well, a custom rom would be nice too.
So i tried the rom for Sensation from codenamelungo.net copied the zip on my sd card, installed it from recovery and now im stuck at the htc screen and being the noob that i am i ofcourse did not make a backup and have no clue what to do now
If someone could explain to me in simple words how i can fix this?
My recovery is CWM v5.8.0.9
*** UNLOCKED ***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.27.000
eMMC-boot
I did the:
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
formatted everything.
Tried relocking it and factory reset but all it does is then booting in recovery menu nonstop on every option i choose.
Another day:
Been on the internet again since i woke up and this is driving me insane, i read many posts with solutions but ofc they dont work for my version or phone damnit. I always have this kind of stuff, why didnt i have the Sensation where stuff go easy, at this point i am hoping to get it to stock again and not ever gonna try flashing custom rom.
I just finished up a couple readings about RUU files which ofc is also driving me insane.
My cid is HTC_e11
version-main 3.33.401.55
So i googled and typed in what was suggest on a post on this forum RUU Pyramid 3.33.401.55 and the only result it links me to is this website in showthread.php?t=1919969
I dl the zip file and what is in it, not 1 .exe file while all posts talking about restoring through ruu talk about a ruu.exe
Pfff, ive read so many posts now on this website and other solutions over the internet i can't even think straight anymore so gonna take a break, was really happy getting a smart phone but i enjoyed 30 min so far ><
Surely hope some1 can assist me with this dilemma

As expected, still on bootloop.
I already unlocked it again so i did step 2
when i type adb device it doesnt find anything even though i am connected with usb fastboot
adb server is out of date. killing...
*daemon started successfully*
List of devices attached
Blank, so no devices
So i did the alternative and typed fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sendig 'recovery'<6116 KB>...
OKAY [ 1.491s]
writing 'recovery'
Okay [8.510s]
finished. total time: 10.004s
Then when i reboot i get stuck in the HTC screen again
Ah i see what is done, im in the 4ext recovery menu now, i did the format you said but i cannot find the smartflash, can you point me out where i need to enable that?

This is not a big issue. Just remember that every time you flash a new rom 4ext should say "A pending update to boot parti...........". All roms will work fine.

You shouldn't be getting that with s-on since you don't need SmartFlash

You should be able to flash any Rom based on your current firmware. Regarding roms the only difference between s-on and s-off is that you cannot flash boot.img from recovery.
For s-on, either you need smartflash, or a manual flash of boot.img via fastboot flash boot boot.img
This is applicable as long as firmware is same.
Happy to help.

about "A pending update to boot parti...........". appears only when you are changing kernel or flashing a new rom with a different kernel than your current one
