Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I deleted mediascape since i never used it. Since then i cannot "share / upload" images directly from the native camera app. Once a photo has been taken i hit the share button l but nothing happens? Anyone else delete MS and have this problem? Not an issue when using Vignette, but it is just sooo much slowerat processing pics that i tend to use it for planned photos only.

So as many of you have already heard, Instagram dropped for we Android users about a week ago. Google Play won't let me find the app, so I downloaded the latest apk and installed it using a file manager. The app does everything fine except let me upload photos. It'll allow me to take/choose a photo from my gallery, crop it, but crashes at the filter screen. Has anyone looked into this at all, or am I just gonna have to avoid this app until I choose to upgrade my phone?
Oh, and I'm running CM7 if it matters at all.
100 Views and no responses? Looks like we're all screwed huh? XD
Might be. Didn't know about this program until today.
avoid app until you upgrade your phone i ran into similiar problems with my hero
I managed to get working by downloading and installing the apk itself

For some reason, my camera does not save pictures! it just takes the picture and it is not saved in the gallery.
Also, my wifi calling mysteriously stopped working.
I am running the latest phoenix rom..
I have tried the fix permissions thing, and that didn't work either. Any recommendations besides ref lashing?
PS The phone still allows me to send picture messages, just not take any and save them
Any ideas..?

Try a different camera app

Most likely, it is just sending your pics to a different location.
Check the settings.
Hmm what kind of camera app? I tried both setting it to save to internal and external but it does not work

Get your cell phone flashed, if any software issue, it would be resolved... cheers!!!
Maybe you have a setting that makes it so you explicitly tell it you want it saved. I know some camera apps have that setting. If it doesn't show up in gallery try plugging in your phone to a computer to look for some jpg files or use an android file explorer.
I'm wondering if anyone using Camera Upload on dropbox has found a way to get those pictures into an IOS photo stream. Thanks to Plex, I can view pictures from my phone on my Apple TV but I'd like to have them in iPhoto with little to no work from me.
I hate that Apple has these nifty toys but closes them off unless you use an iPhone.
If it's unpossible I'll get over it.
Shot in the dark here but can't you add the dropbox folder into iPhoto?

iPhoto doesn't monitor folders for changes, which is really really dumb imho

You have probably already tried this. But have you tried to add the uoad folder to iphoto, not sure how the program works. But with windows apps you can just add a folder to be watched.

I figured it out. I used a Folder Action to monitor the Camera Uploads dropbox folder and then push photos found into iPhoto and then photo stream.
I've noticed something a tad strange with photo uploads. I can't confirm but it seems to me it started happening when I started using JB builds of AOKP and CM10. When I upload an image directly from my phone to Google+ (the two big ones I noticed), they are very low resolution. Has anyone else experienced that?
EDIT: Uploaded image from my phone was fine to these forums, perhaps it's just a Google+ thing - at which point I'd assume it's an app issue. Anyone else seeing similar behaviour?

I don't use G+, but my photos upload to Dropbox and I haven't had any issues with resolution/image quality at all. I'm guessing it's a G+ app specific issue or a setting or something like that.

Thought it might be something like that - no settings that I can see, maybe it's just not playing nice with JB.
I have searched the best I can in the forum for this issue and found Gallery related issues but not like my issue on the Samsung.
Considering I am inept at technology and really have little skills in this area, I managed to flash SuperNexus on my old Samsung GT-I9000 and I am amazed that i was able to get it to work. I am very impressed and thankful for this ROM.
Info:
Baseband: I9000XXJVT
Kernel: 3.0.89-gb1c64eb
SuperNexus 3.0 smtd build 1
Build: JSS15J
SO FAR, I have only one issue that I cannot seem to resolve.
The Gallery is showing all of my pictures whether on the SD Card or the Phone and thumbnailing them as videos (without any actual thumbnail image because the video is presumable corrupt since it is actually a .jpg). Selecting any of these, of course, generates an error: "Can't play this video.'
The only image that has a thumbnail is in the Camera folder and was a picture I took with the camera. The other pictures in that folder are also thumbnailed as unplayable videos even though they were taken with the device when it was Gingerbread.
I have deleted the .thumbnails folder, renamed the directories, moved the folders around (varies suggestions I found while searching) to no avail. The images are valid - I can go into File Manager and they are listed in there, viewable and have thumbnails.
Rebooting doesn't change anything and the camera image that DOES work is STILL valid.
** I apologize if I missed a solution to this, although I did search.
I appreciate your help.

This is a nice app - I can live with this and be happy.
Although, there is one issue and from what I can tell it is NOT a QuickPic issue. In SMS(MMS) when sending a text message and using the attachment option, QuickPic appears as a choice to choose from just like Gallery - which is good, is what I expect. However, I mainly use WhatsApp for messaging. Its attachment option does not list QuickPic - only Gallery, Take photo, Video, Audio, Location, Contact. This seems like a WhatsApp issue and I hope they don't have those options hard coded. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great.
But all that said, this is a step forward for me and helps a lot - thanks!
