Quadrant Benchmark app - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

Anyone try the Quadrant benchmark app on their X10? Ran it just now and got a score of 442seeming even lower than the rating it had for the actual X10. give it a go and tell me what u get. Its free from the market

Mines 438, lower than yours lol (dont know if thats good or bad) although shows it as level as the x10i on my chart?

Hello there,
447 here , but as you can see our phone with 1.6 doing suberb, the other phones running newer android , when we will get the 2.1 you will see that we will be in their asses!
Especially Nexus one with 2.2 , with this firmware getting HUGE BOOST!
Cheers

466, did try to screen shot it but it's only captured the ad an the notification bar.

Im jealous, the uglies device got the highest score.

477 - So far I am winning and that's me with crap on in the background hehe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
493 - With nothing in the background... I am going to try and get 500 out of this thing!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
461 - Uninstalled apps, closed my widgets, rebooted phone and I get a lower score ? Hmm strange.

Well, thanks for that image, put me right off my weetbix... I do hope you meant "kicking their asses," otherwise we are going to be "in ****."

467 with tons of things running in the background and tons of widgets on my homescreen. Not bad!
The graph show that it is above average for the X10 and only slightly below the Desire (on 2.1).

484 when tested 'as is'. 472 after I freed up memory lol

Honestly guys, these Quadrant scores are not a very reliable measurement of performance. This benchmark is easily duped. Just look at the Captivate getting a 2000 after some of the lag fixes and the thing still lags and crashes. I'm guessing the algorythm doing the scoring has some faults.

I got 462 "as was".
And 477 after soft reboot.

Mine is 479 which is better higher or lower number ?

not at 1GHz,
only when I clocked to 1.2 I noticed the phone getting warm while using extensively.
1.2 GHz on my mobile is stable. Till now, there's no crash, but I feels like it's not as smooth as running at 1GHz. And battery drains noticeably faster.
Does the latest SetCPU support the xt720? Or do I still need to use that milestone12 apk?

I went to the site, got the code using my bar code scanner, the file was downloaded, but I can't start it up. Tried looking for where to place the file but did not find. Got any info bro? Really appreciate the help.

how do I custom the vsel?
btw, at what Fahrenheit or Celsius is considered over-limit?
press options (sensor button), settings, enter rate (e.g. 900MHz will be 900000) and max voltage(vsel, 56 seems stock value for 550MHz, but I have been running stable [email protected], [email protected], [email protected])
Then, save values, pull slider all way to the right, then click apply.
If you put too low value, phone will be unstable and reboot. I went from highest to low. i.e. started at [email protected] and then decreased vsel by 1 or 2, until phone became unstable. Then I went back up +1 and it has been running fast and energy efficient since then.
I do not know about highest possible temperature. At Vsel=56 phone does NOT get hot at all, this is stock voltage after all.
Thanks alot solnyshok ...
I'm now at ur settings 1ghz vsel56....
thank you so much...

I hope no one dare not to go for the highest possible temp. coz if u go over it, your processor will explode.
One thing i noticed is that, when the heat goes to 42C ... the frame of the battery icon on the status bar become Red color. then, you should know you've got to cool her down.

I'm busted. i tried to set 1000000 @ 56 and forgot to un-check auto-load on start-up.
somehow, the setting is not working for my phone, and everytime it boots up. it's frozen ...
can anyone help me urgently?
------ update -------
I just found the solution myself.
take out the MicroSD card and put it into to the card-reader.
browse /android/data/pt.com.darksun.milestoneoverclock/files
you'll find a file name "autoload" (i thought it's a config file and tried to open it. but it's 0 Byte and there's nothing inside the file)
so i simply delete the file, put the SD card back into the phone and boot it up.
Wow!!! ... it's neat, the O/C is not loading.
then I go to the Options and put the vsel to 58. tested and working now.

How to get 32fps in quadrant (corridor)

I dunno if it works on quadrand (free) but it works in quadrant advanced (paid)
Go to "run custom benchmark" then tap the little arrow on the right side of corridor and TURN OFF "volumetric shadows" run the test and you will have ~ 32fps in corridor
It gave me ~25 points
It's not very much but it's still something... and it looks better...

it doesn't matter cheat it or not, but I agree, that this is useless in case of the unreality of finish result.
we use benchmarks to test OS and device much often than for show and the total pack of used components make a real score that shows, that our 3D graphics accelerator is not so good as it could be)))
with ALL the options ON is the REAL result, turn it off it's no use

Quadrant Advanced provides the breakdown for each individual area (multi-colored).

The thing about quadrant however, is it's not optimized or suited for the processor in our phones (Hummingbird). It was designed for snapdragon processors.
Additionally, Quadrant is sub par in my opinion on benchmark test apps (even though it's well known) because it does operations that aren't typical. If you get advanced you'll see that it does like 60% all IO operations, however thats a really strange test because it would be like you running a full on database on your phone.
So the scenarios and tests it runs are not representative of the scenarios you are going to use your phone to perform.
I like SmartBench better because it gives you an index for Gaming and Productivity.
Samsung Galaxy S 4G's will slightly outperform the snapdragon/adreno combo that you see in the MT4G etc. Very slight advantage. In regard to productivity it does well too.

U won't notice anything earth shattering from an extra 200 MHz. However for games and flash and videos it does help. Also improves app loading times and things like that so even though it doesn't seem to do much it does help alot when the phone is pushed to the 1ghz area

Scored 1263 Running deodexed KD1, with Bali kernel and spb shell (which is kind of a resource hog)

How come some phones get high quadrant scores?

Hey
I overclocked my Galaxy S and I did some tests in quadrant to see if my clock gave me lower performance.. Anyways I got 2950 as my best score @ 1.5 GHz but I see some HD2's getting 4400 in socre @ 1.5 GHz. I thougt my Galaxy S would get a better score then a HD2. Is it becouse the HD2 running a slimmer rom with less background processes or are they just lying?
I believe quadrant scores are heavily varying and dependent on the device, and for the most part, do very little to reflect "real" performance.
I don't have a straight answer, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your scores are still magnitude's higher than my Hero, my absolute highest (with unsafe tweaks to the clock and kernel) was about roughly 500

Overclocking is just ramping up the processor in your CPU to higher frequencies for faster performance. There are limits, you can't go too high because you risk damage and overheating, and going too low can cause severe slowdowns and instability.
BUt finding a sweet spot for the minimum and maximum processor speed can result in a much faster phone when the screen is on and a way better battery life with the screen off.

Ah...Good old days!
Anyways, there are many many ways to cheat quadrant.Running the app from a ramdisk, patching SQlite, running a rom from SD(I think) all boost the scores. That is,however, because Quadrant relies heavily on I/O,which gives unreal scores.Remove I/O benchmarking from the test and you have a helluva accurate benchmark.Pretty good too.
But on the SGS,let me make my guess. Are you running Cognition rom?If yes,are you using interactive governor?Again,if yes, switch to performance governor and yay,4000+ points in Quadrant!

Unfortunately, it requires a custom kernel, which in turn requires a custom recovery (and in some cases, a custom ROM) to achieve.

Cannot agree more. It sure is fun showing around your quadrant score but a quadrant score never reflects true real world performance. Maybe, Neocore would be a better benchmark but then again non of these benchmarks would show how fast apps could load or how smooth you switch between apps.
I use an LG GT540 Optimus. I was able to reach 64.3fps on neocore and 1250 on quadrant after overclocking to some 800MHz with performance controller.
Quadrant also doesn't reflect the core memory/cpu usage. ie Sense UI eats more resources than vanilla. So, same phone running vanilla and sense will have different scores.
I believe Samsung uses TouchWiz. Perhaps, you could score better with a vanilla rom or cyanogenmod.
Last but not the least, Quadrant scores could be faked just as easy as you could fake version numbers in About Phone.

I installed ROM Manager but it didn't want to do anything because it wants Clockwork Recovery and I have Revolutionary. So I didnt' take any chances.
I just did it again and came up with 1653.
Why doesn't it come up the same? More apps running in the background?
I just killed everything in memory, except for Quadrant and I just got 2030.
Just ran it again and got 2042.
Could it have something to do with cache?
I'm consistently getting 40 frames up the stairs, 60 out in space and 30 watching the DNA. (the graphics test).
Compared to my stock G2 (812 mhz) this is good. Without my CM7, I don't have a clock speeder upper and I haven't broken down and got Set CPU.
Just my $.02
