I'm wiping since that's standard protocol, but I'll defer to more informed users whether it's a requirement for this particular update.

If you are going from Fresh to Fresh, you should be OK without wiping. I'm going to try it without wiping. If it acts up, I'll just wipe and reflash. For me, it's not a big deal.
Edit: I was going to update this with the install notes, but tauzins beat me to it below.

"Install Notes: This update does not require a data wipe if you are on Fresh Evo 3.2. If you are coming from another rom then a wipe may be required. Always perform a nandroid backup before flashing. Updating to the new radio and PRI is highly recommended. You can do it before or after you flash the rom. The download is below."

That's only if you're going from Fresh 3.2 to 3.3. If you're going from a previous version of Fresh (previous to 3.2), you need to do a complete wipe.

Says directly in the blog to wipe.

So I just flashed the file. Working fine without wipe coming from fresh 3.2 with kings bfs#8 and carbon theme. Lost my theme but that seems to be it. Flashed radio update, got stuck, pulled battery, after a few minutes it rebooted wig new radio and PRI. Right on! Thanks bro, good work!

I am on Fresh 3.2.0.0. and I still havent been able to update to PRI 1.40, still stuck on 1.34...I was planning on flashing the 1.77 PRI...should I do that before or after I update to Fresh 3.2.0.1??
Also, if the PRI 1.77 is now flashable (< is that a real word!?) why isn't it, or why can't it just be baked into the 3.2.0.1. update??

Here's my mirror from my dropbox site for those of you getting slower speeds.. I'll remove it in a few hours

You are 100% correct; I should have stated that. I'm sure there are some people who never upgraded to 3.2 since it contained an HTC kernel that broke many of the rooted features many of us enjoy.

I wiped cache and delvik cache..... Coming from 3.2... All settings and widgets stayed only thing is I lost my vanilla lock screen and apps.. But just reflash those and your good to go

Speaking of which, is wireless tether working in 3.3.0.1?

Now my question.... How do I go from 3.3.0.0 to .1?

I wouldn't be able to tell you, as I'm still downloading and it's telling me 2 1/2 hours remain. However, if the rom has a stock HTC kernel, wireless tether won't work and you will have to flash another kernel.
A better question (IMO) is, if you flash 3.3.0.1 and then a custom kernel over the rom to be able to wireless tether and OC, will you still be able to benefit from the other updates from this OTA like the GPS reboot issue, calender issue, etc?

From what I understand, there should be an update in fresh updater.

Wireless tether is working on 3.1.0.2, and the changelog indicates 3.3.0.1 has " Updated Wireless Tether to 2.0.5-pre-9". Did it not work on 3.2?

I believe this is because when flashing the radio, updating PRI, etc, that information is stored in different locations than the actual ROM environment that we play in.
Look for another thread in this forum with a combo ZIP file that updates the Radio, WIMAX, PRI, etc, all the the latest versions included in this newly released OTA. I flashed it, have the current versions of everything and its working great.
Good luck!

[Radio] Baseband 2.41.04.02.03 | For Fresh Rom 2.0b

Geek for Me is proud to release:
Updated Radio.img for Android 2.1 (radio version 2.41.04.02.03) for Fresh Rom 2.0b
Thanks to toast for the moral support, and for being the first to test this on his phone. Haha.
This has only been tested and confirmed as working on Fresh 2.0b
Flashing an updated radio will typically give you better battery life and better signal
This won't fix any current problems with the 2.x roms, but it will make your phone more effecient
Don't hold me responsible if you brick your phone
Don't flash this unless you have a CDMA Hero
I wouldn't flash this unless you are on Fresh 2.0b
In case you are wondering, our stock one is 1.04.01.09.21

So just a quick question, if I flash this and for some reason I want to restore back to a previous rom will this affect me from doing so?
howcome the version in your screenshot is 2.41.05.02.03 ?
its a typo mine matches the screen shot
Might this finally make my phone show its connected to rev. a? You know know that bug..
I am waiting on the answer about rolling back to 1.5 roms

LOL ... i get your point . I am just a little bit skeptical
well i flashed it, i got insurance.
Let us know if it makes a difference, please.
All the radios that flipz has just posted will work and not leave u with a brick. But... sometimes shot happens.
Ok flashing :-s
So far so good..someone in flipz website said that he is seeing a great improvement in battery life
Because the flashing process for a radio is a little different, I'm wondering if I went back to Fresh 1.1 if this radio will work or if I'll have to flash a different radio? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wiping data/flashing roms does NOT change the radio, and it's like a separate firmware entirely...?
I'm leery about flashing if I have to go back to 1.5 and not having a correct radio or not being able to downgrade.

I was thinking the same. but radio should not have anything to do with the ROM, besides I am staying 2.1 until the official release
I flashed without any issues. Just make sure you have some battery life left.. probably wouldn't want your phone dying in the middle of this.
Looks good so far to me. As I said, my battery life was already noticeably improved just by updating from 1.5 to this ROM, would be great if this increases it's longevity even more!
Thanks for all the work Flipz/Toast!
Seems to be working just fine on 1.5 Rom. I will update if I experience anything bad.
Great job Flipz!

[HOW TO] Get MNS WIRED TETHER working on DamageControl v2.6

Hi!
I can't take credit for this solution... someone else posted it here, but I can't remember where or who this awesome person is. If that person sees this thread, please let me know so I can edit this post and give proper credit... because you're a life saver to anyone who wants to use DamageControl ROMs but needs MNS wired tether working.
I have posted this as a separate thread because this seems to be a hot issue which frequently comes up, and so many people don't search the forums well.
1. Completely wipe your phone in recovery. (Factory/Data, Dalvik, and SD Ext)
2. Install DamageControlv1.1beta5 and reboot after the install, verify in Settings>Software that your PRI is 2.11_002.
3. Reboot to recovery, wipe everything again (although you don't have to wipe SD-Ext, but you should always wipe Data/Factory and Dalvik) and install whatever ROM you want that doesn't usually allow MNS, such as the newest version of DamageControl.
4. Once you're up and running with the ROM of your choice, check to make sure your PRI is still 2.11_002.
5. Plug phone into USB and select Internet Sharing.
I have found that sometimes you have to plug it in a couple of times for the PC to authenticate, but I think that might be a PC issue of mine and not a phone issue.
I can verify that this method does enable MNS wired tether on DC v2.5 and DC v2.6. However, I am not sure if/what other side effects might come from having the 2.11_002 PRI. Market works for me still, Sprint Apps still work too, but there may be other things that don't like this PRI. For example (thanks Flipz for the clarification), PRL will not auto update with this PRI. But if the most important thing to you is MNS on a DamageControl ROM, then this is the way to go.
*Don't flash a ROM that automatically fixes your PRI though, or else all of the trouble you're going to will be undone!
Link to DamageControlv1.1beta5 which contains the PRI you need... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=652564
ROMs that I can verify have MNS Wired Tether Internet Sharing working using this procedure
DamageControl v2.5
DamageControl v2.6
DarchLegend v5.0
I can confirm this works with DC 2.06, thanks for posting! I went from Flipz 2.0D with his proprietary PRI and MNS didn't work. I couldn't get MNS to work on DC2.06 or DarchLegend 5. My normal PRI is/was 1.70_003 which I understand is one of the culprits responsible for the error 67 message when trying to access MNS. MNS did work great with that PRI on DarchLegend 4.2.2 however.
With the new PRI I am back to the network being "unknown" and no Sprint designations on the lockscreen or task bar. Haven't tried any of the updates (PRL is currently at 60663) but I can update that manually by nandroiding back to a 1.5 rom.
Not sure what other evils may arise due to the new PRI but having MNS working is pretty awesome.
ive been gone for a while, and with all the drama i missed its hard to sift through a search. after trying all the new roms, i ended up with flipz pri. could someone point me to where i might be able to obtain the standard one?
i thankyou most kindly
The updated PRI sometimes breaks Sprint applications. We reverted to have Sprint show up as the carrier again.

Well, flipz's pri I think is the same as 1.70_003, just renamed in the menu.
You could do the pri reset with your msl to get it back to 1.70_003 though

So far, so good with the new PRI. Market works, Sprint Nav works and everything else 'non-Sprint' works. I don't use TV, NFL, Nascar (uninstalled all of them anyway) but best of all, MNS works. I'll keep playing with it and update as neccesary.
Quick question, for MNS, would I have to use USB-tethering app?

Unless you're talking about the default menu that pops up when you plug the phone into the computer via USB (the one that gives you four options - charge only, htc sync, disk drive, internet sharing), then no, there's no additional app to download or install in order to make this work. Should be native in any 2.1 ROM.

Oh ****, I should have realized that, the default menu. Thanks. There aren't any problems like the older versions of MNS (like on 1.5), where you have to try and beat the network connection so you can tether, right?

not if you're using the wrong pri
it should work fine.
im curious if this method would work on fresh 2.0d... i know when you "flash" it your pri gets fixed, but what if you flashed DC, thus fixing your PRI and then restored the fresh 2.0d nandroid?

Yes I flashed them and verified they all write correctly
is the lates radio and wimax update available to be used with the newest fresh evo 0.5.3, or does it still require yesterdays OTA update system files.

K, going to to test the new wimaxx radio.. Thanks Cal for this always..
Hopfully this will work with the new DC 3.2.2.1.. Or just the rooted rom you made of the OTA..
Oh, can we please get update 1.2 or 2.0 since this is a new rom.. From you..
I always trust things from you as I have from the Moment.. Thanks Dude..
I'm new to android/rooting so I have a couple of questions. I just did a full root, and from what I've read, I just have to get into recovery mode (via prompt -> "adb reboot recovery", is there a easier way?) and then select the package and install from the menu, right? Aside from that, is it safe to downgrade radios in the case where a newer one performs poorly?

I just did a full root, and from what I've read, I just have to get into recovery mode (via prompt -> "adb reboot recovery", is there a easier way?) and then select the package and install from the menu, right? Aside from that, is it safe to downgrade radios in the case where a newer one performs poorly?

Yeah, if you run into an issue with a radio, feel free to play around and find which one works for you.
Personally, I've had all sorts of issues with the newest 3G radio. Lots of data connection lost message, and other garbage.
Okay, I want to make a note of this:
This is for CalKulins good work..
I have tested the new wimaxx and it works, it really writes and works.. I can now access 4G on the new 1.47 ota.. And all others under it.. Along with great reception and all working well with the new radio..
K, Thats out the way, this is for you others who are leery, go on and flash, it is fixed..
Not sure if those links are signed (for protected recovery users) but they are available below if needed .

Cool.. I'm flashing the newest ones now. I just remember their being issues when flashing back to older radios on WinMo, of course, this ain't WinMo anymore but it never hurts to be sure.
can I use these with the new fresh rom
I'm interested in knowing the same as others, is it possible to just flash over any other ROM, like Fresh or does it have to be the over new OTA system files only?
Thanks!
Can this be flashed on top of the Unrevoked root?
Worked great, thanks Calk.
Scanning forever, but that's to be expected with the newest radio/older firmware.
thanks for the links. Worked great
I'm currently on DC 3.2.2 with the latest Radio (2.05.00.06.10) and the oldest WiMax (24722).
My MAC address currently matches the one on my rear label.
I'm not 100% sure on what my next step should be. I'm not sure how one updates the PRL/Profile, but I've seen it mentioned a lot. Should I just grab the latest WiMax from here and flash it? I unfortunately have no 4G near me to test my phone to make sure it's even working right now, but I will be in Baltimore a lot this summer and wish to use it there.
From what I can see the wimax radio did not overwrite my mac address but no 4G so

[GINGERBREAD] Android 2.3 port from SDK for Dream (2708 kernel)

AOSP 2.3 has been released and this thread is now useless
If you wanna follow our work with aosp 2.3.1 for dream/sapphire :
Source Code Repo for Gingerbread (Dream and Sapphire builds)
Compiled builds
MODs bootanimation, superuser, terminal emulator, live wall papers support, google apps, market 2.2.7, etc...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since people were asking for it, here is a quick port for the G1
Thanks and credits goes to :
-pershoot using his kernel boot-cm_2635.9_ds_32b_radio2708-oc-uv-xtra-ram-fp-120810
-seo using mostly his port for magic as base
I'm currently using the 14MB ram hack with radio 2.22.28.25 & hboot 1.33.0013d with CM6.1
If you are not you need to follow these steps first : 2708+ enabled kernel [14MB ram with radio 2.22.27.08/2.22.28.25 & hboot 1.33.0013d]
OR
you can always try to flash a non 2708 kernel from pershoot like boot-cm_2635.9_ds_32b-oc-uv-xtra-ram-fp-120810 after flashing this ROM but I have'nt tested it myself.
working : data/radio but like all other ports no mic
not working : mostly everything
seo has wifi working on magic, I'm looking into his wpa_supplicant.exec script but changing wlan.ko and driver did'nt worked.
For wiping I suggest using Ohsaka SuperWipe as the update script does'nt wipe /data partition.
Download link : here
Nice, I'll flash it shortly

I just did a SuperWipe + nand restore to CM6.1 and both HOME and CALL buttons are working properly.
I just added a link for Ohsaka's SuperWipe in the OP, use it to wipe before doing your restore. (needs to be flashed)

thanks, but I wiped it with Ohsaka SuperWipe, before and after 2.3, I don't understand, I'll try it again, but I'll try to fix_permissions first, don't think it could have something with my issue, but it's worth trying
and one more thing, my PC now doesn't recognize my phone as USB device, will try something and post results

Flash a stock ROM? It's probably a good idea to make a new thread for your issue tbh, since it's not really that relevant to the ROM.

can someone delete my lame problem?
You just some-what single-handedly saved the G1 from dying out. Mine was stolen a while ago, but I still check back on this Thread and I'm so happy you took the time to Port the ROM. Great job my friend.
Maybe these GApps will help: http://bit.ly/fyOUMI
Got it from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864403
Wow, thunderspeed!Nice Work!
But wondering when would Milestone XT702 got one
Lol lucky y'all... Got ginger bread before us G2 folks
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I flashed it ,it's slowly....and can not change time setting`` it is not perfect````and now just need to wait for the new 2.3 rom for G1 and wish it more better....

It sounds more like it's on life support, and a lot of people (mainly developers) wanna pull the plug. To them, the G1 phones are nothing but a waste of time, when compared to a lot of the newer phones on the market.
The reality though, it isn't much different then a lot of new phones on the market. I gotta have a hardware keyboard, and that limits me to the myTouch 3G Slide, and the G2. Frankly, the Slide is essentially the same thing as my G1, with lots more memory, and a better camera. My friend replaced his G1 with the Cliq, and he thought it was an upgrade, but didn't understand why Angry Birds was still slow?
So long as there's App2SD applications, over priced phones, and smart coders, the G1 lives on.

Stop Waiting for TMO to Update to ICS!

If you are waiting for TMO to Update the Sensation to ICS you should stop waiting and update to ARHD. I am a ARHD user and have been applying each update as it comes down and have had no issues at all. Battery life has improved ten fold and Android 4.0.3 is great.
If you are concerned about the warranty issues with rooting, don't be. You are on the XDA forum, so I will assume that you have at least a basic understanding of how to operate your computer. It is a simple process and you would have to be a complete idiot to screw it up.
Take it from me, switch to ARHD and you will be beyond happy!

Yes, and the update from HTC will be Sense also...so no point in waiting? Getting off base install from TMO did wonders for the speed of my Sensation.
I know some people are concerned about losing Wifi calling, but it seems to work in ARHD and Virtuous ROMs just fine (btw Virtuous does NOT have Sense). I had one minor hiccup with it in an older ARHD version, but its stable now.
I was worried about losing my warranty, but if you follow the S-off/on procedure closely, you can revert your phone back to normal in case you need warranty service!

Yummy what do you mean, the official ICS OTA for T-Mobile US has not been released yet?
Would love to update but the procedure seems extremely convoluted with unknown result. I am now trying to find a Youtube guide or something of this sort.
Im on ARHD right now but i would love to flash a stock ICS...problem is everytime i followed one of the guides out there i ran into a problem. I guess its because the guides are not for Sensation 4G.
Would be really nice if someone can put up a guide on how to flash a stock ICS on Sensation 4G tmo.
Question for you all. My phone is stock. If I do one of these ICS ROMs, will that wipe out all the apps I have installed and their progress? Will it make my phone like brand new?
I'm ASSUMING if I wait for the T-Mobile ICS it will keep all of my apps and their info?
Thank you
Jerry
I got tired of waiting.
I tried AHRD first and it's good. I ran it for about a week playing with sebatian's and faux's kernels. I've been running Elegancia for the last week with Bricked kernel I like it more.
I want to try CM9 when it's fully operational for a pure AOSP experience. I also want to try a Sense 4 ROM, but I understand BT isn't fully functional yet and I need that in the car - and I'm reading bad reports on battery life at this point.

Your data will be wiped and you'll be doing setup like a new phone.
Download Titanium Backup first and backup all your apps/data. You're apps should auto install after you flash the ROM - or you can install them manually. Then you can restore your app data from Titanium and your game progress will be back.
I don't know if waiting for T-mo's update will require the same backup or not. But give that firmware will be updated and a complete OS update, I don't see how your app data would be safe then either.

With a stock OTA update, the update is installed via the stock recovery. The stock recovery makes a backup first before flashing the update. After the update is flashed the stock recovery takes and installs all your apps and other data from the backup it made. This way when you flash the OTA the end user does not loose all their settings, apps, and personal ink saved on their device.
