Hello everyone,
I've been working on an app for the past couple of months. It's called Out of Milk and it is an intuitive and easy-to-use Shopping List, Spice Rack and To-Do List app. This is my first Android app, so any feedback is welcomed. I just released v1.3 to the Market (the first public version was 1.2 and it hit the Market last week for the first time). Android 1.5 and up are supported.
I've spent a lot of time making this app intuitive, easy, simple. Here is a summary of the feature from the Out of Milk website
V2.0.9/V2.0.10 Update:
This release focused more on getting our Pro features out there. Our next releases will be a little more balanced as far as free/Pro features are concerned. We plan on add lots of features to the free still.
Feature: Ability to specify a product as tax free. Out of Milk will remember this in the product history so that the next time around this item will be tax free automatically.
Enhancement: Spanish language support.
Feature: Sync/backup your list with our servers. (Pro only)
Feature: Manage your lists online on our website (http://outofmilkapp.com/) (Pro only)
Feature: Real-time list sharing with other Pro users. (Pro only)
Feature: Widget. (Pro only)
Feature: Ability to enter coupon information. (Pro only)
Pro stuff can be unlocked by installing the Out of Milk Pro Unlocker.
V1.6.2 Update:
Enhancement: Barcode scanner now recognizes more items that it did before.
Feature: Manage Product History. You can now manually add items to the Product History. This comes in handy for those who would like to setup their Product History manually.
Feature: Move items between Shopping Lists and Pantry Lists. Prior to the update you could only move items between Shopping Lists and only between Pantry Lists. Now it is possible to move an item that is in the Shopping List to the Pantry List and vice versa.
Feature: Scan items in the Pantry List. It uses the same scanner as the Shopping List.
Feature: Quantity and unit is now available on the Pantry List items.
Feature: Out of Milk comes with a barcode scanner included and no longer depends on the Barcode Scanner app from ZXing.
Enhancement: Menu icons don’t look blurry in Android 2.3
Enhancement: Various bug fixes and other improvements.
V1.5.1 Update:
Feature: The Spice Rack has been turned into a Pantry List. You can now have multiple Spice Racks. You can also create lists of essential items such as flour, sugar, etc... which aren't spices.
Feature: More complex editing screen. The Shopping List, To-Do List and Pantry List items can now be edited in a more complex screen that allows for more information to be edited.
Feature: Ability to set the quantity and unit. Current supported units are: lbs, oz, kg, g, L. If you think you might need another unit, let us know and we'll add it.
Feature: Ability to set the price on products. This can help users save money when shopping. The total amount of the list will be displayed at the bottom of the list. Out of Milk will remember the price for the next time you enter the same item. You can also specify a general sales tax in the Settings screen so that the total with taxes is also display. The total with taxes isn't accurate since not all grocery items necessarily taxed. For example in Florida, water and medications aren't taxed. We plan on expanding the price feature in the future.
Feature: Ability to set a reminder for To-Do list items. This has been a feature requested by a lot of users. Out of Milk will remind you by notification on the date and time you've set. There's also a snooze functionality that allows you to snooze the event for 9 minutes (this is configurable in the Settings).
Feature: Using a slider that ranges from empty to full, you can now set an approximate amount for Pantry List items.
Feature: We've added a Note text box to Shopping List, To-Do List, and Pantry List items. It's optional and you can just put in whatever notes you need.
Enhancement: Some users didn't like having their Shopping List sortable. They would have rather have it be sorted alphabetically. We added the ability to have the Shopping List, To-Do List and Pantry List sorted alphabetically.
Enhancement: We've improved Out of Milk's speed despite having added tons of features. Some of the slow parts of Out of Milk have had their speed increase by a factor of 3-4.
Enhancement: Lots of new Settings and configurations.
Bugfix: Keyboard doesn't pop up when editing an item.
Bugfix: "Add from History" list is sorted alphabetically.
V1.4.3 Update:
Speech-to-Text for phones that support it.
Enabled App2SD for Android 2.2.
Updated the UI a bit (no more cancel button, just click back or Done on the keyboard to dismiss the textbox)
Minor bug fix.
V1.4 Update:
Adding items is much quicker and smoother than before. Keyboard automatically opens now when adding new items.
Shopping List History: All items you add are saved to the history. If you scan a barcode and the product could not be found, then the item you typed in will be saved the next time that barcode is scanned again. You can also view the list of history items and add them to the list.
Ability to pick a smaller font size for all lists. To change the font size, press the Menu button on your phone on the main Out of Milk screen, then pick the Settings menu item. There you can set the font size for list items.
Cross-out/Uncross-out all items in a list.
Support for German, French and Dutch locale.
V1.3 Update:
Take your Shopping Lists with you everywhere in an intuitive and easy-to-use package.
Scan products directly into your Shopping Lists using the integration with Barcode Scanner.
An auto-complete database makes adding grocery items a breeze.
The digital Spice Rack means you always know what spices are in your spice cabinet.
The To-Do List lets you add and keep track of any other items on your daily list.
Multiple Shopping Lists and To-Do Lists.
Share your Shopping Lists and To-Do Lists by email or text message.
Reorder your list items on the fly.
Let me know what you think and what could be improved upon. Thanks!
This is a really nice app. Way better than the one I was using. Great job on this. The barcode scanner is an awesome touch.
Awesome app. Very easy to use
I like the idea of having a virtual Spice Rack, reminds me of Shelves which I use for movies.

Thanks. That's the idea. Whenever I was at the grocery store I could never remember if I already had a spice in the spice rack. This solves the problem. I'm thinking of turning the entire spice rack into a pantry with predefined lists such as "Spice Rack", "Dry Goods", etc... That way you can inventory your entire pantry (since it's stuff that doesn't change often)

Very slick app. I like it a lot. I've tried a bunch of apps for this very reason and it looks like I'll be sticking with this one. The virtual pantry idea sounds like an excellent item.
For the lazy, if there was a way for us to take a picture of our pantry and tag it on a list as a list by itself, that'd save some time.
Nice looking app there mate. Will try it out soon
What is that mod you are using for the % showing in the battery?

Great App. We (My wife and I) love it!
Suggestion: Would be awesome to be able to share list from OOM to OOM. So that I could use the Done option from the list my wife sends me.
Really nice app. I think I will use it in the future.
One thing. How does the barcode scanner work? I mean.. with what kind of codes/database.
I'm asking, as I scanned some products and nothing was recognized:
book: Lord of the Rings
gummy bears
PS3 game: GTA4
Edit:
Ok, just tested it again and now at least GTA4 is found. And a bottle of Pepsi.
Don't know what the problem was in the first time.
However, I'm still interested in what database is used, as e.g. the gummy bears still are unknown.
Just a suggestion...
What about using a form in Google Docs to allow sharing between multiple devices? You could populate our Google Docs with the required field and then we could share it among those allowed within Google Docs.
Just a suggestion.
Widget would be great but I'll have to wait to switch until you add multi user editable lists. The app I use now isn't perfect but bring able to share an editable list within the app with my wife is key
UI is very good.
I have one suggestion to make which i have not seen on any shopping list apps.
Share Shopping list via Email or text message but with the same format.
let me give an example
my wife makes the list and emails me the list (if it can be a attachment) and then i download it and open it via your app then i can see the same list just like the way it was created and not as a unformatted list in the email...
is that possible?
lovely app, has the potential to overthrone Astrid Task as my main to-do app, grat work!

The database we're using is the one from upcdatabase.com. It isn't very complete. I'm working on getting a better database.

I'm the developer of "Best Wishes". It is an application that will pull down your list of friends from Facebook along with their birthdays. It neatly organizes the birthdays into an intelligent list. Once your friends are loaded you can configure Best Wishes to post notifications when birthdays occur. You can put a widget on your desktop to see upcoming birthdays too.
The real reason I developed the app was to automate birthday wishes. I don't visit Facebook very often, so I wanted a way to automate birthday wishes. The automation is very customizable. You can configure a time range for it to post. The app will randomly pick a time within the range. It comes with 10 "canned" birthday wishes. You can edit these "canned" wishes or add your own. You can select the ones you want and it will pick from them randomly. You can specify custom wishes for your close friends. Plus it is easy to exclude or include which friends you want to send automated messages.
Of course, not all friends put their birthday info on Facebook and some have their permissions set so that 3rd party apps can't access the birthday information. For these cases I've added manual entry so you can use Best Wishes for all your friends.
Check it out and let me know what you guys think. I'm open to feedback and feature suggestions. The full version costs $0.99. The Lite version is free.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.unchained.bestwishes
MOD EDIT: FREE VERSION CAN BE FOUND HERE
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.unchained.bestwisheslite
The main difference between the lite and full version is the level of customization that you can perform. The full version allows you to enter custom birthday wishes, include/exclude friends, and it has ten pre-defined birthday wishes that are editable. The lite version only has one birthday wish ("Happy Birthday!"). The rest of the functionality is the same.
Thanks!
Against the rules to have paid apps up without a free version or trial. Better fix that before you get reported.

I didn't realize that was a rule. I'll put up a free version to go with this when I get home tonight.

Cool application, I purchased it from the marketplace. Works well on my phone, but craps out hard on my tablet. Just a heads up. I sent the crash report in, if it's any use.
Best of luck!
Great app! So much more useful than Facebook for birthdays. Love all of the customization in the paid version!
I love the idea, but have a question. Often when I use an app to post to facebook, there is a little tag line that says it was posted via a particular program. Is this going to do something like "Happy Birthday, Phil" "automatically posted by Best Wishes"? I love the idea of automatic posts, but don't like the idea of them knowing that it was some automatic process and not personal.
I have a couple of quick suggestions. First, can you ad an option to search and/or sort the list of people by date so that you don't have to scroll through hundreds of names to find the right person? Second, I see canned messages containing the person's first name. Can you add an option to replace the person's Facebook name with something else? Third, how about including their age, if known, in a greeting?
For example, I have a friend "Worker Bee" and I'd love the canned message to say "Happy 50th Birthday, Brian!" and I'd like to be able to find him in the list by searching on "Brian" *or* "Worker Bee" and see the list sorted by first name, last name, or birth date. Make sense?
Yes, it will say "post by Best Wishes" at the bottom of your post. I didn't like that either when I first realized that. Facebook does that for accountability reasons. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to know if you posted it or some third party application posted it. There isn't any way to remove that message.
I don't see it as a problem though. I made sure that Best Wishes has the capability to just remind you and then make it easy to post from within Best Wishes. If you click on the person it will take you directly to their profile page. If you have the Facebook app installed it will take you to their page in the Facebook app. If you don't have it installed it will take you to their page via the browser. From their you can post your birthday wish.
The privacy constraints can be a pain, but I guess they are there because enough people requested them.
djeaton, thanks for the feedback.

You can search and it is sorted by date. The date sorting expands the current month by each day you birthdays. Then there is one group per month. You can quickly collapse the groups to jump around the list.
Can you add an option to replace the person's Facebook name with something else?

I didn't think this would be useful as a canned phrase because it would be too specific. I had envisioned that most people would just create a custom birthday wish. I will keep this in mind though. It is definitely a possibility for a future version.

You can search now. Just click the search icon in the top right. If you type Brian it will show any friend with Brian anywhere in their name. The list is sorted by last name then first name.
The most friends I have seen are around 1200. The average person seems to have around 300. Extensive sort order can be added. I decided it was overkill for this first version. I'll keep in mind for a future revision.
Thanks again for all the feedback!
That's good. Just didn't want it to look like a robo-post with no personal touch. Speaking of touching the person and going to their page, could you add the option to long-press on them and be taken to their configuration page where you can enter custom greetings or select a canned one?
Yeah, I'll add that in the next release. It will be quick to add the long press options. Thanks for the feedback djeaton.
I'm constantly forgetting to wish my friends a happy birthday so this app is a brilliant for me!
What makes this app any different then this FREE app that looks like it does everything your PAID app does???
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zixstudio.fbbirthdayscheduler
The applications are very similar, however my application edges it out in several ways.
Best Wishes:
- Allows you to pick a time range which is used to pick a random time each day to post your birthday message. This randomness is useful to make the automation more natural.
- Uses intelligent grouping to make the list of birthdays easier to read.
- Has more pre-defined birthday messages.
- Looks better (in my opinion) because it includes your friends profile picture.
Let me just say, this is from quick inspection. I have not done extensive testing of this other application.
I guess it just depends on what you like. The Lite version of Best Wishes is also free and it has most of the features above.
Hope that helps. I appreciate the feedback!
Thanks!!!! .. Seems really nice application....

much needed i too dont visit FB much and miss out on wishing bday wishes...thanks...
First off very nice app, good idea and nice clean interface.
Now one problem I have and tours that a lot of my friends don't have their birthday in the app but their facebook does, any reason you know of why this would be happening? I don't feel like going through and adding their birthday manually.
A feature request would be to be able to set a custom birthday message as a generic message and not just one for a specific contact, I like ascii art lol just too make it a but different when I post happy birthday
P.s. I have the paid version
Hi,
I want to introduce my application LazyShopper.

A distinctive peculiarity of this application is an easy-to-use work with lists, a capacity of forming of templates/recipes, extended functions and work with the groups of the lists, nice and neat design, and fine setup for any user. A big and built-in dictionary will help you to create a list. Using built-in widget you will always have an access to information about list conditions, and reminders will not let you miss important purchases.
Features:
* control of unlimited amount of lists in three categories: active, pending, and templates;
* ability to determine the list item with the following parameters: the number of goods; unit of measurement; price (auto-complete feature); a person for which a purchase is made; a shop where a purchase should be done;
* control and modification of the custom dictionaries: goods, groups of the goods, unit of measurement, persons, shops;
* classification of the list items by the groups of the goods, shops, persons;

Ok lets see, some questions:
1. Can i import an existing csv file with a list? I have a list with some 300 items and dont want to imput everything again.
2. Does the app handle the total price and per store price of the items to be bought and also of the items already bought? This is important for me to know how much i am going to spend and how much i have spent.
3. Can i adjust the prices during shopping to record the current price changes?
4. Can i assign several stores per product? Exceptional would be if it handles prices per store.
I come from using HandyShopper and have not yet found a worthy replacement for Android.

I found your app on Android Market and I really like it. So far the best I found (I tested many of them).
I can see that I can import list of items (BTW, if I tried to import over 150 products the program crashed). Is it possible to import list of goods (with categories and units assigned already)?
I know already that I can import list from text and then I have to add each item as a good (by long tapping on a item and choosing "Add to the goods") or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

OK, if you add the option just let me know. I can be your beta tester, because I don't want to insert all my items manually. I used Windows Mobile for 7 years and now I moved to Android. I exported my products list from WM and I'm looking a good shopping software to import the list.

And remember... I really need your feedback and review on Market
This app. is getting really great. The only matter that is keeping me from using it as my full time shopping app is that it does not support multiple stores per item and prices per store per item

My friends and I have been using MyFitnessPal and other equivalent web sites to track our meals for a few months now. Most of these sites use a database of food items that have been submitted by users, and many times they're way off. I grew sick of having to look up food items online for accuracy, so I decided to write an Android app to make things easier.
Queue up my new (and first) Android application, "What's On Your Plate". It's a simple application that contains the USDA National Nutrient Database and all it's 7,906 items of goodness.
It allows you to:
Search for items by keywords.
Browse for items by category.
See detailed nutritional information for each item.
Choose a serving size, with custom units per item.
Save commonly used items to a list of favorites.
Share your selected item and serving size via email, Google Docs, or more.
Optionally display "net carbohydrates" rather than "carbohydrates".
I'm considering features such as listing the macro percentages within each food, and the ability to search for food items by percentages for when you're looking for something new to add to your next meal.
It's free of course, but there is a small AdMob ad at the bottom. Maybe it'll cover that $25 fee Google charges for posting on the market, but I doubt it haha.
Anyway, take a look, and shout at me if you like (or hate) it. Thanks!

v1.2
Updated the USDA Nutrient Database to Standard Release 24.
Added choline and vitamin D.
v1.3
Added an option to display "% Calories" rather than "% Daily Value"
Changed "Fat" from "Lipid_Tot" to the calculated total digestible fats.
Corrected the behaviour of the "back" button.
Corrected the Android Market developer link. (oops!)
The update is not showing as live on the Android Market just yet. It's acting screwy tonight.
v1.7
Rewritten from scratch to provide an ICS look and feel, with additional features, and an optional donation version for no ads.
Where is the app?
Hi all,
I just finished writing the first version of TubeRun for Android. TubeRun is a London transport app that aims to present the most important data that TfL offers in a single app. My motivation for writing it was the low quality of similar apps found in the market. Typically they offer only a single important feature (eg a journey planner, a good map, bus departures) but they omit the others forcing you to install multiple apps which seldom work in a straightforward manner. In TubeRun, expect to find everything that matters so that you won't have to have 4 different similar apps installed. Features include:
-A Journey Planner that uses the TfL API for up-to-date travel plans
-Live Bus, Underground, Overground, DLR and Rail Departures
-Nearby Tube lines, Bus routes, Cycle Hire stations (with live bike/dock availability data), Rail stations, Oyster ticket shops
-Oyster Balance
-Underground Refund Claims
-The real Tube Map
-Favorites
-Current and Weekend Status Updates
-Fast ICS-inspired interface that doesn't rediscover the wheel
New: The source code of the app is available on GitHub.
I plan to add more features, and I am posting this to request your feedback on what I should add/improve next.
TubeRun is by no means perfect, however I think that it works really well already. Please, let me know your thoughts on it so that I am able to effectively improve it. My current list of TODOs for the future is as follows:
Improve the UI of the main screen (icons are the way to go). (v1.2)
Add a station chooser that uses auto complete and the current user location to void scrolling. (v1.2)
Add the ability to deactivate the backgrounds (my photography skills are not up to the task) (v1.2)
Suggest National Rail stations in the Journey Planner. (v1.2.2)
Add support for oyster accounts with multiple cards enabled. (v1.2.2)
Add tube stations status. (v.1.2.4)
In the nearby tube stations map, add the ability to show departures when clicking a station.(v.1.2.6)
Show nearby oyster ticket shops.(v.1.2.6)
Show nearby rail stations(v.1.2.6)
Fix the title for manually-entered bus stops in departures.(v.1.2.7)
Migrate to the official TfL API for tube departures.(v.1.2.7)
Add national rail departure data.(v.1.2.7)
Overhaul the departures station selector(v.1.2.7)
Add the option to download the tube map that also depicts rail services.(v.1.2.8)
Migrate to the new Google Maps v2 API.(v.1.3.0)
Make favourites sorted by current distance.(v.1.3.1)
Add nearest bus stop in favorites
Show tube/bus departure times directly inside the journey planner
Integrate data about maximum journey time (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/14872.aspx)
Support push notifications for travel disruptions
Support advanced journey planner options
Add widgets.
You may lobby for your favorite feature here and I will do my best to implement it. If you are willing to contribute with code, just PM me.
PS. If you like the app don't forget to rate it. The more people that use it, the better the chances of keeping me motivated.

wow love u work matey just awsome and tyvm just keep going with ur work and ty again
Good job bro! If I'm ever going to London again I'll take this with me ^^
Great app, shame I just moved out of London though! Would have used this otherwise.
referring this app to all of my friends. you need more downloads. App is fantastic, you just need to improve the main menu layout and give it a more ICS style feel.
Well done mate, I use it everyday
fantastic app, will pass it on to all my mates. love it when someone sets themselves a challenge and sails over the bar.
keep it up
WOW what a potential app. I would like to make a few suggestions
1. UI, this needs a rehaul? Im currently using Tube Chaser https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDEsImNvbS5hbmR5Ym90dGluZy50dWJlY2hhc2VyIl0.
and it looks very well polished. You can also set it up so that it takes you to a certain menu when you launch the app. So it could take you straight to Favourites or near by stations
2. Widgets. This is what Tube chaser was missing. The first Tube app I had was London Tube Status https://play.google.com/store/apps/...s#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwicHRjLnRmbHN0YXR1cyJd
The widgets worked very well.
But I have to say this is a very comprehensive app but needs a cleaner look, ease of use and widgets.
Well done
Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I did put a lot of my spare time into this, and seeing it lagging in the area of 50-100 downloads is indeed demotivational.

Yes, Tube Chaser had by far the cleanest UI. I went for the ICS+background images layout which I personally like a lot (and it required quite a lot of effort to make it 'work'). What I do lack are some nice icons for the main screen, which I guess is what turns a lot of people off on the first look. As I am not a designer (I more or less suck at photoshop), I didn't want to use some 'not quite right' icons. So I went with labeled buttons. If any of you has a suggestion for a good (+free) ICS icon pack let me know.
What I want to implement for the next version is a quick picker for stations that relies on autocomplete/location and use it thoughout the app. The current version requires quite a lot of scrolling.
As for the "take me to a specific screen", it's indeed nice. However, I think this workflow (quick information peeks) is better satisfied with widgets (see below)

Can you ellaborate a bit more on the wigdets that you need? I personally dislike widgets that require me to 'interact' with them in order to se what's new. For example, I don't think that "departures" widgets is a good idea as they will require me to always hit "refresh" to see what's new. If that's the case, I pretty much prefer to launch the app, hit favorites and stay in the clean interface of the app. I thought about doing it for oyster balance, yet I prefer the current implementation that just requires me to launch the main app. Quering servers on the background periodically or getting your location (thus depleting your battery) is something I want to avoid.
Hey,
I have just downloaded your app and I must say! I really like it. I spend a lot of time in london for meetings etc... and so this will come in very useful!

Take me to specific screen would be handy as when I use it on tubechaser, where ever I am, I would like to see nearest stations first. Its worth having I think

The only thing I dont like about tubechaser is that it doesnt have departure widgets. Isnt this one of the benefits of Android, having widgets?
When I use Train Times UK for C2C times https://play.google.com/store/apps/...EsImNvbS5jcm93b3JjLm5hdGlvbmFscmFpbC5saXZlIl0.
I only use the widgets and never the app. All I need to do is hit refresh on my homescreen and that is it. Im sure you can have that the widget doesnt always update unless manually done on the screen?
I've just downloaded this and love its features. On first impressions, it looks like it's going to become my new main Tube app! The only criticisms I have with it are:
1. To reiterate what others have said about the UI on the front page - I think that some nicer looking buttons wouldn't go amiss;
2. I have two Oyster cards linked to my online account, the first of which was lost a long time ago and has a zero balance. Until there's the option to choose which card to show in the app (or TfL let you delete old cards off of their online service), the Oyster balance feature could be useless to a lot of people.
Great work though, really nice app overall.
Thanks for all the feedback guys! I am now able to start filling up my list of ToDos. Here are my current priorities:
Improve the UI of the main screen (icons are the way to go).
Add a station chooser that uses auto complete and the current user location to void scrolling.
Add support for oyster accounts with multiple cards enabled.
Add widgets.
I will add this to the first post and try to keep it updated. If your favorite feature is not quite high up, maybe I will change my mind if more people ask for it.

Yep, I am aware of this and I added it to my todos. For the time being, I am pretty sure that you can erase cards from your online profile. The option may be burried somewhere but I remember doing it a couple of months ago and then fixing a relevant bug in the app.

i mostly use buses and not all bus stops are available yet (app's saying so). on the bus time table not only how many minutes left but also an arrival time information would be nice. and to be honest background photos distract me. i'm telling this to you as a user, who has tried many these kind of apps and to help you to understand what a user wants from a bus tracking app.

I am using the 'Bus stop locations' dataset released by TfL here. It may be slightly out of date (eg released last year) but I wasn't aware of any stops/lines missing. Thanks for bringing this up. I will update the description to mention this. Are these missing stops available in other apps?

I am not sure that I understand you here. Do you mean "the next bus arrives in 13.49" instead of "in three minutes"? Or maybe "buses on route 49 arrive normally every 12 minutes"? As for the second dataset (sceduled bus frequency), I do not know if it is available somewhere (and I do not think it is particullarly useful given that live information is available).

Yep, others have told me that one before (while others quite like them). If more people feel strong against them I will deactivate them. For the time being, I think that they give a unique touch to the app.
Maybe adding a background configuration in the settings to allow users to chose either blank or image background. On/Off toggle basically. I'm about to try this app, judging by the video it seems packed with features so I'm looking forward to having it. The oyster card thing looks good, I don't want to waste time checking at the station all the time or hoping I have enough.
The buses section doesn't work very well. Maybe a compass would help to understand which way is which. I guess we can use the journey planner if we are stuck somewhere. On my road the local bus is only shown as one direction. The tube part is good though, haven't tried the oyster card thing yet.
I use BusCount for bus information, it's pretty good, maybe you would want to look at that to see how they get all the information. Just a suggestion since it's spot on.

Bus number is 462. It shows two buttons but both say "Departures not available. This is Tfl service so be patient". I presume that means it's a problem on their system. It works for other bus routes.

Days now supports contact names writen in Greeklish and can now properly display namedays for those contacts!
Tried the app! Very promising! It's stylish and very fast! Thanks!
Can you please add an option to backup the contents to sdcard, and also a search function inside the app.
And why does the app needs to read my contacts? And make an option to download details from fb and then sign out. Now if I signout, I can no longer see the birthday list. Anyway promising app.
And I couldn't understand the name days, can you please make it in English. Thank you
The app needs access to your contacts in order to read their birthdays and display them in the list (given you have birthdays stored in your device's contacts ofc ).
Since you get some goodies when you are logged in via Facebook, such as send a facebook message or open their wall, the app requires you to be logged in. But I'll look into your suggestion, and see what I can do!
Lastly, search is coming in a later update of the app. This and the ability to manually add entries into the app is two of the most important feature that need to be implemented!
Many thanks for the feedback!
PS: The app's namedays feature is currently supported only for Greek Orthodox names. How is the Play Store in terms of nameday apps for your country btw?
Sorry for the very late reply..
Oh, I thought it only uses fb to get the birthday list.
And I have no idea what name days means! well, I can simply disable it, so no problem there.
And please add an option to delete entries if possible, thank you

In Greece, we celebrate each person's name in a set day(or days) of the year, so each person "celebrates" two times a year, one for their birthday and one for their name day It's some sort of tradition here
I am currently working on redesigning the app to match all requested features and needs I've got so far. Luckily I started working on the redesign just about when the Material Design guidelines came out, so the app will get the Material Design treat soonish :highfive: (as soon as I am done with my vacations that is)
Waiting for the material redesign!
Days has been updated to version 1.6
With Google releasing their new design language and getting ready for the next version of Android, a lots of design changes happened to the app!
New icons, minnor tweeks here and there, and a revamp of the selected date screen with bigger, more beautiful contact images!

Currently the app displays the age of the contacts that have known year of birth. The ability to edit contacts from the within the app is one of the main features that are currently being worked on though. Unfortunately, it might take a while since I am currently starting my masters degree and haven't got a strong machine with me :/

Since I'm pretty new on Android, I was really surprised that there is no system support for the Birthday's Calendar!
I'm currently testing 2 apps, your has the neatest interface! :good:
I have a few suggestions:
composed names with a blank inside (like mine Gian Maria) are shown with the first word only (in my case only Gian)
tapping an event will open the system Contact's app instead of asking which one to use when more than one is installed. I do use True Phone and other apps ask me which Contact's app should be used
showing all the nameday (latest feature added!) should be a user selection into the configuration...
Addendum: I didn't found the widget on my MotoG with Lollipop...

Thank you for the suggestions mate!
1) Is 'Gian Maria' a first name of a contact or a full name?
2) I'll have a look at that app. They I did that should open the contact details with any related app installed. Could you please mention the names of the other apps you have so that I can test it out? EDIT: I see what you mean. I am assuming that you are using Lolipop? I am using something that is called Quick Contact Badge. In earlier versions of Android that badge looked different compared to the built-in contacts app, and hence the confusion. Already changed in the next update.
3) I agree, and will be available in the next update
About the widget, some people have reported issues with the widget, so it is under investigation. For the time being, please make sure the app is installed in the device's memory and not in the SD card (some people tend to forget that )

2) Yes, my MotoG 2014 is running Lollipop and I confirm that now it opens TP's Contact app! :good: (running v1.9.2)
Yes, the app is on the internal memory. BTW Lollipop does enable the option to move it to SD... I think there is an attribute to set so to not let the user move it, I have a few apps like that with the move to SD button disabled.
