[Q] My Fuze refuses to run unsigned software now! - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I have an Att Fuze running the stock 6.1 firmware from Att.
I tried running XDAndroid 2.2 Final build for my phone, it appeared to crash while loading so I hard-resetted my phone.
Despite the fact that XDAndroid is supposed to run completely off the sdcard and not touch my internal memory, it appears to have corrupted my phone!
TouchFlo no longer launches (it keeps saying touch screen to launch TouchFlo, and if I do it goes crazy trying to launch and failing over and over), the phone is VERY slow and laggy, and the worst of it all, I CANT RUN ANY UNSIGNED SOFTWARE ANYMORE! Any attempt to run any program that isn't signed results in "The file (whatever) cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found"
I can't even run PimBackup to backup my contacts and text message logs!
I tried to install HardSPL since I figured might as well flash a custom rom to it but it failed too! It kept saying "Error 246 Device not responding" even though it identified it correctly when its booted into WM, and when I force it into bootloader mode it starts the process but gets stuck at 0% and eventually HardSPL gives up.
Is there anything I can try? Any way I can backup not just my contacts buy my call logs, text logs, etc before trying to reflash it? Any idea why XDAndroid would do this to my phone?

From what I understand, it isn't specifically Haret that did it, but some weird response to an error in starting Haret. I can't remember exactly what I did but I tried to run Haret incorrectly (my finger slipped on the touch-screen) and after that nothing would run. It triggered some weird thing in the OS.
I've heard of some people needing to get into reset mode before they can flash their phone -- not sure what the process is though.

Might be best to post in THIS thread. Keep in mind, you don't want to keep creating threads. It doesn't help our forum at all...
Also, it helps to read the post in it's entirety then try it out or if you need further assistance, post a reply.

Sorry about that, pretty much every forum I have ever posted in prefers you to make a new topic instead of post in an existing one when you have a problem.
I'll post my question there, although I wasn't sure where to ask a question about disabling that annoying signed programs thing.

Can't seem to flash any roms... CID locked G4..

So I've spent the last two days either out drinking or recovering and studying this and a few other forums. I feel like I have a solid grasp on flashing a rom but I'm still having the same issue with every one.
First, I have a T-Mobile HTC Wizard, flashed with most recent OEM build, CID locked, SIM unlocked.
Usin Shelltools to extract the OS, I've tried NBD 9.1, and also the OS that comes with Faria's guide. I copy those two cab files Cert and enablerapi to my Wizard and installed them, and soft rebooted with the stylus hole on the side, activesync to my comp, and run shelltools.
About 5 minutes (shorter than it should be from what I've heard) in with either of these OS's I get a message saying that the install is done from shelltools and my wizard gets a message that says "Cannot load ndblog.exe" or something very similiar to that (Note to self: get a better memory or write things down! ><)
After that I get stuck at bootloader and have to reflash OEM.
Any idea what's going on here? I assume I'm missing some idiotic detail...I feel like I've got this process all processed mentally and that's always where dumb mistakes are made
I suspect the error your referring to might be 'cannot execute replog.exe'
What about Wizard Love, have you tried flashing this rom then using shelltool?
Alot of people advise to flash the rom that your device was shipped with and since you've pretty much exhausted that option I suggest you get some wizard love happening prior to using shelltool again.
Good Luck

I have this same problem when using shelltool on my desktop computer. My simple solution: use my notebook computer. My guess is that something installed on my desktop was stopping shelltool from doing its job. I.E. firewall, anti-virus software, something. I really don't know what it was, it might even have been some kind of virus that I dont have on my laptop due to better virus protection and wlan switch.
My reccomendation, try a different computer if you can before you give up totally or pay to have your device CID unlocked at IMEI-check.com and then you will be able to use RUU method.
Thanks guys, I'll try these two solutions tomorrow as its almost 2am and I have to be up for work in 6 hours ><.
Also funny thing is, I got so annoyed that I almost just rocked the damn pay service to get unlocked, but as I was checking out I saw that they had this drawn out process where you had to send them personal info (drivers license?!) to verify your paypal isn't stolen. Isn't that like, the ####ing point of paypal to begin with!? I'm not sending scans of I.D.'s so some shady cell phone hacking website!
I hear that. Thats just asking for your identity to be stolen...

HARDSPL success or failure how to tell?

Hello First all I am a new owner but I have tried looking for answers elsewhere with out much success. If I can be pointed else please let me know and I will look further.
If not I beg indulgence,
I have tried several times to do the clearing of the ATT stuff on my phone by using HARDSPL but I am not sure if it done? I do not notice any change at this point.
Here is what I have done
I installed the active sync on my computer and then plugged my phone into the USB connection cables to my system and achieved connection at least according to my computer.
I then browse to the HARDSPL (RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe) and execute it. It says that it takes about 10 minutes
It goes through the standard checks which I agree to and then it verifies for itself.
The first time it seemed to go good but the whole thing took less than 15 seconds and it said installation 100% and I had to exit
But when the phone was turned on there was no visible change
So I thought it actually failed
Subsequent attempts have followed this scenario
I achieve active sync with my PC and am connected to it
I browse to the HARDSPL mentioned above and execute it
Then the screen on my FUZE goes blank and after a little while I get an unrecognized device connection from Windows
After a few more minutes I get a message from the HARDSPL install that the connection was lost and I have no choice but to exit
The phone usually will not turn back on until I remove and put back the battery then the phone turns on normally with no visual change noticable.
So I still do not think that it succeeded
So I tried this
I have a 4G SD card and I created a folder called HARDSPL and put the files opened when I execute the self extracting file above into this folder
I browse to it and excute the file from the phone itself.
Again the screen goes blank after a few seconds and I waited at least 30 minutes now this time the only thing that is different is that the phone seemed to get real warm. Then it cooled back down
After I turned the phone on again it seemed no different.
I was expecting all of my content to disappear(contacts songs) but they are still there when I look at the ROM it says this
ROM version 1.95.502.5 WWE
ROM date 10/20/08
Radio Version 1.02.25.32
PROTOCOL 52.39c.25.22H
Now after thinking about this maybe the HARD SPL is only the first step
Maybe the HARDSPL worked and I need to now LOAD a new ROM and then my phone will be clean
The part that confuses me is the process never quite worked as I was expecting it to so I am unclear if it succeeded or failed
Is there a way to see if the HARDSPL actually succeeded or not and if it did not HOW can do it successfully
I am trying to do things exactly as others have done because I do not want a BRICKED phone so I am a bit confused at this point as to what to do next
I would GREATLY appreciate any and all help with this
Boot to tri-color. It will tell you the SPL version. HardSPL will have OliNex signature. Check noob section in Wiki for how to boot to tri-color.
Thank you I powered down and held the volume down while turning the phone on and I came up with the following:
RAPH110
SPL-190.OliNex
MicroP-Raph (LED) v13
MicroP-Raph (KEY) v5
PSOC-RAPH STAGE_CUT v0x36
so I assume that HARDSPL worked and now I can go about loading a new ROM
I was thinking about RRE 5.8 21042 with Manilla. Is this a good choice to begin with or would anyone suggest anything else
There aren't any good answers for ROMs. Maybe you might want to try cooking one for yourself. Ervius' PkgToolsBuildOs kitchen makes it simple now. Locate Da_G's simple ROM kitchen thread for a place to start.
I would suggest Da G's 6.5 ROM. If you want TF3D then use the kitchen for the 6.5 ROM
thanks for help guys
Which process in my original post, in anyones opinion, was the one that actually worked to get HARDSPL on my phone
The first thing you did was good enough for the HardSPL.
Good Luck and Have fun with the ROMs

It only takes about 30 seconds to flash hard spl (10 min is how long a full ROM takes, the utility doesn't know what you're flashing, it says that every time); you did it correctly, so it's time to move on. Flash a bunch of different roms. Do 10 a day. Knock yourself out and have fun.

Still experimental though. Long list of bugs still but vc taste of the new OS.

Just getting started I would either go with RRE or RomeOS. Both are good stable roms. Keep in mind though that ALL roms on here are somewhat experimental and are prone to bugs and other issues.
You may want to also read this thread as well as both links in my signiture. When you do flash a new rom please read the thread for that rom in its entirety (I know they are long) so that you know what issues are already discussed or solved and do not ask about something that has already been handled.
Thanks again all
a few questions but first a ROM listing I have in place now:
LocateCaller2r2.cab
netcallerid.cab
both these are really cool one lets you get city and state info before you answer
the other give pretty detailed info after including believe it or not relatives of the caller I tried from my parents phone to my cell and all of my brothers and my sister and even my ex wife showed up in a text message after the call was finished. WOH!
nitrogen-0.2.1-wm6-vga.cab
rre
touch pro
touchresponse
voice speed
have had the chance to try all of these out yet but so far so good now to the questions it seems that my zoom capability (moving around the large central button while a web page is being shown)is missing now. I understand that when I took off the AT&T stuff i would need to reload things. So I am not disappointed
but if some one knows what ROM I could load to get that back it would be great the version of RRE I loaded came with Manilla
So question 2 If I needed to say get rid of a certain MOD say the nitrogen MOD listed above how is that done Do I start over with the base MODS again and thenn simply not load it this time around or is there a simple way to unload a particular ROM.
Why is the 50% battery requirement in place is that just a safeguard against the phone going dead within 10 minutes.
What exactly does the HARDSPL do I found all kinds of stuff on why to use it and threads on how to do it and what to do after you do it and I know you can put the original ROMS back on the phone for warranty issues but how does it work?
Please forgive the NOOB questions hopefully I will graduate soon

HELP!!! serious problem.... help please!!

Hello there,
I have a serious problem. A while ago i flashed the energy rom to my device and it worked great. Now i can't use my phone anymore because it was a beta version? I've searched the forum, and i saw more of you got the same problem.
And i've read that it's possible to reinstall windows on my device but..
I typed serious import texts with notefolio and windows note creator program thing, i need it for my job,, Is there any way to retrieve those text files? It's not on my SD card, so it must be in the internal memory.. ****
My laptop makes a sound when i connect the USB cable, nut i can't see my touch pro in ''my computer'', it seems it won't connect...
Please please help me i'm desperate
thanks allready
Greatings,
Bouke
Mine just did the same thing and im about to leave the country. Have any suggested new builds?
Energy Rom Craps Out
My phone has also taken the time trial sleep, any help before I reflash. XDA should make it known that acts such as this do not happen again. I have donated to the development of this site, now wondering why & if I will do it again. Please help with a fix other than reflashing.
Moved as not ROM Development.

I dont think theres any way to undo this thing. just happend to me this morning. I was able to get a start menu, but all the apps I start, start under the message.
BUT, since I got enough reminders that this version I flashed was going down, I see not more than to just accept this failure .
So I held down the vol- button en pressed the reset button with my stylus, now I its flashing a new ROM.
Good luck
yea i tried that aswell, but everyting is beneeth the message.
And indeed it's a huge FAIL from the energy rom developer
I'm still hoping for some reactions that may help recovering my valuable text files..
If i flash a new rom it will erase all the data on the phone memory including text files notefolie etc. right?
Greatings
unfortunately yes. as far as i know there is no chance of getting them out of there. but you installed a custom and private made rom - that is to some extend alsways a risk and you should back up all the things you have on your phone when you do this.
good luck
i too want to get a few things out of the phone.
the stuff that still works is htc sense, and anything started directly out of sense, but not any shortcuts to programs.
you can access it by locking the phone, then unlocking it.
it will give me access to sense ui.
so i'm now pretty much looking for anything that's left to help me start a backup program.
any ideas on how to add a program as a service?
maybe with sd autostart.
does that still work?
all we need is to get the phone to run one lousy backup app.
maybe even automated.
we need ideas! ;-)

My phone locks on long end key.
If I press that and unlock again, the expiry message disappears for a while.
Sense and some Programs started directly from within work. Not the home screen links
However, I cannot start programs from links or access the internal memory.
Is there any way to read this while in "boot screen" mode?
If you can get some things to work, then pull your sim card out, and sync to a pc. If the syncing works, set the pc's date back a few days, and see if the rom starts working normally, then back up what you need and re-flash.
If you can't sync, just try to fix the date on your phone. A soft reset may be required.
Doesn't work as Sense crashes when I try to set the date.
Maybe it works for other people.
Sync does not work as that is blocked.
I tried changing the timezone immediately after it locked but that didn't work either.
So I suspect changing the date back wouldn't do you any good.
In other words: I don't see any way to recover any data from internal memory.
I'm going to do a hard reset now as I don't have time for this.
I conclude that whoever decided or implemented this timebomb as is, is a complete asshole and I hope he gets eaten by wolves in his sleep.
Disabling a product after a beta phase and/or forcing customers to update is perfectly fine, destroying their data in the process is unacceptable.

Gee, Office 2010 is a beta release, and came with a time-bomb. Maybe you should call microsoft and tell them to suck it since your custom rom didn't live up to your expectations.

I totally agree with that. I don't have time for it either, and i've already told my supervisor the good news..
Does anyone know a good working smooth ROM without the crappy time bomb thing?

Sprint Snap (s511) flash from MicroSD card?

So when I got this phone back in September I flashed to an early version of the cooked 6.5, however as I've been using it I get frequent errors telling me the phone is out of memory when it shouldn't....it got to the point where now I can't even hard-reset the phone successfully.
I'm now trying to flash the phone to
RUU_SNAP_S511_3VOLUTION_WM65_3VO.1.00.092209
and it always fails around 60%.
I'm wondering, like with my mogul and touch diamond, isn't there a way I can simply rename the NBH and put it into bootloader mode and flash it from the chip to rule out any problems with my PC and/or cabling?
I've searched and read and I don't see the issue addressed but I could be missing it still. If there is, could I possibly get a link to the post that talks about that?
*bump* Anyone? I'm starting to think the answer is "no", but in the event i'm simply missing the right thread, I'd like to see if someone can confirm for sure

[Q] Android NAND ROM need help

Hi, today i tried to install this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620&highlight=android+2.3). I stuck to this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvS4EvS0PAw), but now i have a problem: i came to the step where i must run the ''ROMUpdateUtility.exe''. I followed the steps and when there should be an install of the new ROM file it's gone from 0% to 100% in like 3 seconds (that was wierd because it should take 10 minutes) , but when it rebooted it simply stop by the white screen with the green HTC logo...i cant even factory reset it. Please help me, what should i do to repair my phone
Have you tried the hard reboot? If so try restarting the device by holding down the down volume and the power button. I had this same issue and after many tries and re-installs the device stared to function again.
i have foxed it all...and installed the android, it works perfect. If there wasnt a problem with the Wi-Fi...can somebody help me with it
And where the hell is the ''Folders'' app so i can install applications onto android!?
suggestions
I admit I am a novice and I attempted to do things I shouldn't have done without research, but I read and read as everyone suggests in this forum. I watched video after video to make sure that I was doing things right. I still bricked my phone, as many people do, but I think I was mislead. I FULLY accept my responsibility for what I did. I would just like to elucidate some shortcomings of this forum without any malice.
You guys have a lot of power! You are very knowledgeable, and we as novice developers, who wish to do fun stuff with our phones, rely so much on your expertise.
I was able to successfully flash Android onto my SD card. It was awesome. I was loving it. But I kept reading that NAND would be much better because it would boot straight to Android without having to enter Window's Mobile first. I read that battery power would last much longer too. So I found out the way to flash HSPL3, MAGLDR, and NAND. It was working fine. But I liked the earlier format of the previous ROM running off of the SD card. So I figured out how to switch to another ROM.
It was on this forum" HTC Leo: > HD2 Android > HD2 Android NAND Development>" that I read in step 2 to "You should flash stock official Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM." I did, and ended up bricking my HD2. A post-bricking search of what happened revealed that it was apparently my fault that I had previously flashed my Radio to something that led to the system failure. I read somewhere else that if my 3G wasn't working to flash the radio. So I did.
What I am upset about is, that there was no mention made nor warning given in the above forum to ensure I hadn't already flashed my radio to something I shouldn't have. Nowhere on the page is there any information warning of ill effects by flashing to earlier ROM if the Radio was flashed too. I did exactly as I was instructed and flashed to stock Windows Mobile. So I have a heavy mirror as a result. I will try and go back to T-mobile and get something under warranty. They actually told me to come here to learn how to get Android on my HD2.
So my bottom line is just what Uncle Ben (Spiderman) told Peter, "With great power comes great responsibility." If you allow your developers to post phrases like "You should flash stock official Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM" you should also be sure there are no ramifications for performing such an action.
That's all. I'm still happy with the forum, it enables us lay folk to do some awesome stuff with our hardware. Please try and be more comprehensive when it comes to potential adverse effects. Have another person or committee edit the process and make sure that nothing is left out. I guess that is why it is in the forum format, but as a novice, you don't allow any comments regarding installation so I couldn't post there. Maybe someone else can save another phone if they come across my situation. Possibly add a new policy to have the administrator run through a checklist of things that could go wrong with each step before publication?
Hopefully with your power, you will get thanks and admiration for disasters averted. Keep up the good work!
Thanks,
