manual landscape - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

I am able to disable auto rotation but want to be able to manual rotate. I cant find an app and was wondering if someone knew of one. I did try the auto switching app, but that just turns on/off auto and that is not what I want. I had an app like this on my winmo omnia.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

How to Disable Auto Rotate?

Is there a way to disable the rotate on the Touch Pro? My annoyance is that some times I take pictures with the phone in landscape..... and when I view the pictures, the phone would auto rotate the screen making unviewable
I see a solution with using different picture viewer. I use Resco, because it has much more functionalities than builtin viewer. I want to disable autorotation while keyboard is slided out. Any hack for this?

I Can
Get BSB Tweaks 1.6
run bsb tweaks 1.6
tap menu on the bottom right corner
tap rotation
tap options on the bottom right corner
tap rotation status
make sure disabled is checked
sorted
ya you can use bsb tweaks but everything wont be disabled!
for example opera would still rotate, you need to disable it from registry! and if i remember right manila music and manila photos would also rotate!
regards

Hmm... Thanks.. So there is no way to 100% disable it?
I want to disable rotation, BSB Tweaks 1.6 option doesn't work for me (it enables itself after te required softboot)
Anyone knows how to disable rotation for the messaging app via registry?
EDIT: I want every rotation off, but I'd settle for the messaging app.

if you want disable all rotation, you must set autorotation to 0.
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor
AutoRotation set 0
if you just want disable rotation for the messaging ,you must delete two registry....
HKCU\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSENSOR\MODULENAME
MESSAGECLIENT
HKCU\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSENSOR\WHITELIST
MESSAGECLIENT
Much appreciated =)
Setting Auto Rotate to 0 still rotates the messaging app, so only by deleting the messaging strings can you get rid of the pesky rotation...
Only have 1 arm, it's not like I could use the rotation feature in anything at all, much less when tipping an sms.
Get BsB Tweaks, go to Menu/Rotation and select Opera from the list. Then go to Options ans Remove Selected Apps. In Opera you will not have auto rotation anymore. You can do this for all other apps in the list aswell. When you want to add an app in which you want auto rotation you go to Options/Add application.

App to control auto-rotate automatically?

I don't like my homescreens to autorotate but I do like it when I am using my keyboard in apps such as forums and texting.
Is there an app that will set autorotate to OFF on my homescreens and ON when using my keyboard? Or maybe where I could specify which apps I want to activate it on and have it work automatically?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
+1
i'd like to know as well
Not really any apps that I know of that can "detect" when you need the auto rotate function to work. But, I use Switch Pro with the auto rotate on my homescreen and I use Quick Settings, which works on any screen by using a long press on the search button. This calls up the app and I can activate auto rotate and quickly go back to the previous screen. Hope this helps.
Well, there is an app in the Market called "Auto-Rotate Status Bar Switch" that turns auto rotate on and off from your Notification Bar. It works fine and I use it, but I was just hoping for an app that automated the process.
There is another app called "Rotation Toggler" that is actually even better. You can just turn rotation on and off by long pressing the Search button and clicking their icon.
tasker.. you can set auto rotate to turn on when you open specific apps

Orientation doesn't work

I have an e10i and I face a problem. I think my orientation sensor doesn't work. Does anyone have any idea how to check if it's functional or how to fix it ?
I think your should enable option 'Auto rotate screen' in Settings - Display at first. Then you may run some apps to check if 'Auto rotate screen' works fine. For example, you may open web browser and then rotate your device to see if the screen will rotate automatically.
For your reference.

Screen rotation app existing/new

Hi,
I am looking for an App to manage screen rotation when you tilt your phone just the way the stock screen rotation app does.
Just so there is no confusion: there are a tonne of screen rotation management apps already out there. ALL of these (AFAIK *shrug*) do not implement a screen rotation thread. Instead what they do is enable or disable screen rotation so that the stock system thread will rotate or not-rotate.
Rather, I want to "replace" the stock thread.
This replacement app would:
1. disable the stock thread (this is easy through the settings.)
2. monitor the two-axis tilt sensors.
3. set the rotation 0, 90, 180, 270 as required.
What is the advantage of such an App over the stock rotation thread?
Well there are several:
A. you can extend the functionality to bump or shake.
B. you can adjust the sensitivity.
C. you can get your rotate working if the stock thread is broken -- which happens on some phones.
Does anyone know if any app implements its own rotation mechanism as I describe?
Best wishes
Paul
bump
bumpity bump
I don't think there are any apps that can replace the stock rotation system, they can only extend the functionality. It's also possible that some can force rotate it if your sensor is somehow broken.
An app called "Rotation" adds a floating button that gives on-demand rotation. Though I don't know of any apps that have all the desired features into one. I know there's a shake to rotate app, but I don't think there are any bump to rotate apps.
is it possible to change an app's orientation using this so that it opens up only in portrait instead of always in landscape?

that does not make sense
if you can (1) read the sensor, and (2) you can force rotate, and (3) you can disable the stock rotation system,
then that 1..3 means that you are effectively replacing the stock rotation system.

The app that I named in my previous post doesn't work if rotation is disabled.
It has a small switch in the top right corner which turns on its service, which in turn also turns on the auto rotation system of Android.
I haven't used any other rotation apps except the one I mentioned, but I'm pretty sure they all require auto rotation to be turned on.
And that's what I would call "an extension of the stock functionality", because a replacement wouldn't require the stock system to be turned on, correct?
I use tasker for this. You choose the apps you want to be able to rotate the screen or you choose the orientation you like for that app. The system orientation is untouched by this.
Not sure if you really looking for this but that's how I handle my gallery, youtube, ... (rotation enabled, brightness to 90%). After you exit the app everything switches back like before (in this case only brightness to 25% because orientation is still disabled by the system).
