Psfreedom for droid 2? - Droid 2 Android Development

I see that they have made it possible to hack your ps3 through the droid 1 but I can't find anything to make this possible on droid 2??? I want to be able to back up my games on my ps3 too!! Lol. I looked and looked and can't really find any other ways to do it but through phones and ect..any info would be awesome. Thanks

Its been talked about, and its not currently possible because the bootloader on the droid2 is encrypted

I would have to look further into it and see what it replaces but as long as it doesn't touch the kernel or bootloader you should be fine

Its a modified kernel I'm pretty sure

Yeah I read that there is a "specific" kernal that they used to do it. I also read that you could partition a flash drive/usb stick and put the ps3 into recovery mode or something and do it that way but I don't know if they were referring to just transfering files or actually hacking it. Guess this isn't really the place to ask. Thanks for the help though.
Ps. When do you think they may hack the kernal for the droid 2?...guess somebody is working on it right? Or do we need to wait until someone from inside verizon releases it or what not?

Rooting the T-Mobile SGH-T959

Just wondering if there was any progress being made on figuring out how to root the T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant. Anybody know if a fix is being worked on and if so what the ETA is?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
it's pretty much been rooted from the beginning. google is your friend
Really? Not to sound like a hardcore n00b or nothing, but I've tried every method out there and nothing has worked. If you've got a solution id love to know where you found it.

Note that this device is blocked from accessing the recovery menu. Thoughts?

Call 611 and tell them you want it replaced. I did it and schmoozed a bit. They sent it next day air.

I also can't boot into recovery using the buttons, but I've heavily modified my phone. Please explain how you're unable to root your device.

Can Anyone Change The Colors In Clockwork Recovery?

I was wondering if anyone knows of or has a version of ROM Manager "Clockwork" that has a themed recovery other than the plain black background and green fonts?

You could try asking supercurio in the galaxy s forum section.
His voodoo kernel features a red and black recovery version.

dude wat I just read your post without having to think about it... thank you for using correct grammar and legible sentence structure.
I don't think you would be able to really theme it, I know that (as said above) voodoo recovery is red but having different colors is quite helpful when troubleshooting. Its not like you're in cwm enough for it to be a big deal.

@SageDieu, Lol...
Thanx for the Help guys!
Question, would the
"Voodoo Recovery" Work on my "Sprint Hero"?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
I don't know anything specific about your phone, just check in the forums for it and see if you can find some sort of voodoo lagfix kernel.

I doubt it wOuld wOrk with your hero. I had an eris which is basically the same thing. And green was my only choice. But maybe you'll Find something. I didn't

How to get out of Ubuntu and into regular computer?

Title says it all.
If you read this you are looking for where I sent it from. That makes you a stalker
Format your hard drive and install windows. This will reinstall your bootloader back to windows'.

I use Boot Repair. I don't really know what you're asking, but the other suggestions sound like you're having issues with the bootloader. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair
Thanks I am looking to make a custom ROM for myself. Maybe I'll release when done

[Q] Flashing ROM over an emulator?

Hi
I have made some modifications to an MTD ROM posted in dev section.
I would like to test it on an emulator before I flash it to my actual device.
I installed Eclipse (with ADT plugin) and downloaded some Google APIs (2.1,2.2,2.3.3) but I haven't seen our device in the list...
So I just launched a virtual device based on 2.3.3 but I don't think it is heping me much, it's just a general 2.3.3 android device.
My questions are : (and I did read quite a lot, maybe haven't looked in the right places)
1. what target do I need to download and add to AVD to emulate SGH-T959V ?
2. How do I get it to function with recovery ? and actually flash kernel etc.
3. Do I need specific actions to emulate MTD over our phone ? same as in real phone ?
4. Will I be able to virtually flash a ROM on an emulator ?
links to constructive/informative sources are also appreciated.
Thanks a lot !
itzik2sh.
I'll rephrase, how do you guys test your ROMs prior to flashing them, or you don't...

I have been trying to do that for a while. What I've discovered is that you can build emulater version from source, or use a nandroid backup.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I was messing around with this last night, but couldn't get a nandroid backup image to load properly in the android emulator. I was following these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591924
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906161
I'll get back to you if I find anything else that works.
I couldn't get it tot work either, but I thought it was just me.

Boot manager

Is there a blue folder available for the s3? I'm using the Galaxy mod ROM now and really like it but I'd like to keep checking out new rooms. Is there a convenient way to boot up another rom without having to wipe out what I'm running?

It gets me all the time too! But as of now there is not, there are some in the works from what I hear. So right now the easiest way is to make a backup and flash then just restore when you're ready to go back

Yes unfortunately no Boot Manager yet. Init2winit apps is unable to support the app anymore. The good news is that they are currently trying to find a reputable dev to take it over. Hopefully someone will.

I was really excited when it came out for the droid x. I bought it and really never used it, it just didn't work right. Cool idea but never work for me. I am sure the dx having a locked bootloader really held it back.
