Permanently unlock device when sync with Vista

Hello,
I upgraded my Wizard to WM6 (faria) and I have a problem when synchronizing with Vista (Windows Mobile Device Center).
I have a password on the PDA and each time I connect to my Vista desktop the system asks me to type in the password (actually you have to do it on your PDA, not the desktop itself) to begin synchronization. It's irritating!!!
When I did the same on XP + AS 4.5 I needed to type in the pass just for the first time (then the system asks you if you want to remember it).
Is there any way to turn on this feature (i.e. remember password) in Vista?

Yes I find this annoying as well. I'm using Universal/Dopod 900(WM6)

That's weird... Exactly the same problem as you lot but when I plug my WM5 phone in it gives me the option to save the password. Seems to apply specifically to WM6 combined with Vista. I would think that this is one of their security "features".

For me it looks like an error not a security feature. Hope they will fix that soon.

i think this will work!
Go to ActiveSync -> Options -> Security then
Prompt me to ser my policy for automatically connectin my locked device. The propt woll appear the next time i connect my device.
Check the box and i think u r done

ActiveSync??? We're talking about WMDC on Windows _Vista_ for which there is no longer AS. Typo or wrong OS?

Would you happen to know how many PCs you can synchronize with WM6? Max used to be two with other versions but I'm not sure about this one.

Update - new WMDC solves the issue.

As many as you want but you can have Partnerships with only 2

It worsk the same as with WM5 - so you will be asked for password (typed on PC) and then again whether WMDC should save it or not.

Just so everyone knows, this is one of the listed fixes for WMDC 6.1 which was released yesterday.

I have all the latest updates for Vista and WWDC and it still makes me put in my password every single time...Any tips?

Not possible. Just download the latest WMDC, uninstall previous verision and install this one. Should work.

There's also 1-Calc Lite. It was offered as freeware by Microsoft at one time, but I don't see it on their site any longer and it's no longer on Omega One's site, either.

1-Calc Lite doesn't installed on my WM6 PPC
I unzipped the installer and I tried to install the 1-Calc Lite.exe on my Hermes. It failed and returned the message that the "CalcLiteOL' is not a valid Pocket PC application. Does this app works for WM6 Professional? It's a shame if it doesn't. The app is very useful and usable.

My mistake
Oops. Silly me. Found out how to install the app after all. That it needs to installed from a PC.

I'm running it on my 8125 with one of the WM6 TouchFlo ROMs. It's installed to my storage card and works without missing a beat. Even when I feel the urge to feed my flashing addiction, I never have to worry about reinstalling it. . . . probably the most useful calculator/conversion app I've run across.

treo750 with wm6 freezing

Hello,
I just dont know what to do...
- Got Treo750 unlocked.
- I updated it from Windows Mobile5 to Windows Mobile 6
- First it went fine
- But then every programm was freezing.
- When I click to contacts and want to scroll -> freezing or extreme slow
- When I click to pictures or some other programs -> freezing or extreme slow
I already sent an e-mail to microsoft but they didnt answer.
Can anybody here tell me exactly how I can fix this freezing problem with the treo750 ? How can I install Windows Mobile 6 or 6.1 to it again / over without a new serial key for the microsoft page. I lost the file i could download there once. Tinman etc. Or how can i formate it and then upgrade to a new windows 6.1... got no idea how it works
Please help me!

Office Mobile 2010 available on Marketplace: Problem with OneNote

I installed the newly released Office 2010 mobile from the Marketplace, but when I tap on OneNote, nothing happens. I have a German HD2 with stock ROM. All other apps run ok. I installed Office on internal storage.
Does anybody else have the same issue?

so You're saying it's not beta anymore? have they updated outlook as well?

Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sharepoint & OneNote.
I didn't look if Outlook got updated too and now I have it uninstalled because I want OneNote...
and to answer your question: Yes, Office 2010 mobile is out of beta and now available on the US Marketplace.

Office Mobile is available on the German marketplace as well.
It looks like there is no Outlook 2010 included. All Progs have a "Info" Tab where it shows Office Mobile 2010, Outllok is missing this and it looks exactly the same than before.

Did you manage to install the localized version? When I try to, I get an error. I can only install the US version.
After reading user comments on the Marketplace, I am not alone!

I'm using German Stock ROM with Market Place Vers. 1.2.1422.0000.
Office Mobile 2010 is the second application under "Neuigkeiten, sorted by "Neueste anzeigen". The application required a soft reset after installation and I have no problems so far. Everything is in German, no possibility to choose any language.

Every second time I open the marketplace, I see Office 2010! When I try to install it I get a connection error.

Maybe. I will wait till tomorrow to see if it gets any better. As I posted before I am not the only one with those problems. Just connect to the US Marketplace and read the reports. Many have issues running OneNote and Excel.

I have the same issue on the Dutch stock ROM HD2. Maybe because I installed the US version on the Dutch phone? Now the US version is bound to my marketplace, so I can't download the Dutch version. But as said, maybe that's marketplace crumbing under load?

Just downloaded from Marketplace (Holland), no issues noticed sofar. OneNote works fine.
I use a custom Rom.

It has definitely sth to do with the Live ID used for installation. I have a couple of Windows Live IDs, so I logged in with a different one (than the original one) and now I can install the "native" Office version. I rebooted and all problems are gone! OneNote works now!

Confirmed! Uninstalling US version and installing NL didn't worked with the same Live ID account in Marketplace (because I already 'bought' the free US version, and downloading NL version fails).
I linked a new Live ID account, which enabled the NL download, installed it and now OneNote is working! Also noticed that I now have labels in my menu's in Sharepoint Workspace.
It's a pity Marketplace can't figure this out for himself!

I thought marketplace is somehow similar to iTunes - means country specific.
Means, you can only connect and download from where your registration comes from.
If this is the case, no wonder it doesn´t work if you "tricked" something to get into the US marketplace - you get 409 software...
Anyway, btt, no problems here (currently in Austria), everything runs just fine.

What do you mean by "doesn't work"?
Every app in O14 works OK on my HD2. However, I don't like it. The new icon is ugly. After editing a Word document and OK (close) it, W14 asks me whether to save it. It is annoying, because it didn't do it with W12 (office 2007).
Moreover, I haven't yet found any new feature in Mobile Office 2010.
So I have already uninstalled it.

I downloaded it. Word doesn't launch, just gives me an empty dialog box titled "Error", and when I click "OK" it exits. Same with Excel, and Powerpoint works after loading a file and a click on "No" with another empty "Error" dialog box. Really weird.

Works for me (on a stock ROM). Perhaps something broke when yours was cooked. Ask your chef to cook O2010 in?

I was using Radio 2.10.50.08_2 Cell Evo Rom and my office mobile fail to load up. After switching back Radio_2.08.50.05_. It is ok now.
Maybe you can try this?

Same for me. I have WWE stock rom.
