Windows Live for Windows Mobile NEW BETA version 10.6.0026.1400

New version of windows Live for mobile was launched at microsoft connect so i wanted to share it with u guys Hoop that all of u will like it !!
Requirements: Windows Mobile Phone Edition Pocket PC (Wm5 or WM6) and windowx XP and or Vista
Overview: Later today, we will be posting a new version of Windows Live for Windows Mobile on this site. Update as of 2-Feb-2007
This version includes significant improvements to: connectivity , contact duplicate detection, stability and UI.

More Info:We hope you will download the new version and give it a try. We have a single installer that works for both Smartphones and PocketPCs, and works on Windows XP and Windows Vista (but not on Windows Vista 64).
Remember to uninstall the G2 Client first before installing the new build. Go to
Start | Settings | Remove programs and remove "Windows Live". The de-installation will actually take several minutes, and will include a reboot of your phone.

its the latest release. all others are before 2007 and this release is after feb 2007. it contains many bug fixes and ability to solve duplicate contact problems. its much faster then any other releases

Ok I installed this beta messenger, after playing around with it, seems there is an issue with sending voice clips, alot of them fail.
Just what I have noticed so far.

WLM connection problem
I also tested this WLM version.
Seems to be working good, login is quick, merging of WLM and Outlook-contacts is a good thing.
My problem: After some hours running, it seems to lose connection with GPRS.
I have to soft-reset my wizard to get a connection to WLM
After the reset i can connect / sync again with WLM..

So far no luck. Running Faria's WM6 and it installed okay (though very slow) and rebooted. After that I run it and it only says Sign in to Windows Live. I click it but it never connects. I've tried it through both wifi and edge. Gonna reboot my phone and see if that helps, otherwise I'm going to hope the server is down or something. Although, come to think of it, I had similar problems with previous versions too. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, who knows. I really hope I can get this working. The inability to merge WLM and Outlook contact lists is what has kept me from using it so far. If this has that fixed and I can get it to work consistently, I'm in happyville.
Edit: Rebooting fixed the connection issue. Still doesn't do what I want though. It won't take my outlook contacts and add them to Live Messenger, for instance. You would think it wouldn't be that hard to have it read the IM field in the contacts to do so. Also while it did successfully merge one of my contacts, others had duplicates. For instance, my wife has her name entered one way in WLM and I had it another. It created a duplicate for her. Both had the IM address listed as ****@hotmail.com. So, it is a slight improvement, but not there yet. I want full synchronization between Outlook and WLM. I also want to be able to add a Windows Live mail acct to my existing passport but I'm not holding my breath for that one.

Worked perfectly for me, except the fact I dont like having all my MSN contacts in my phonebook forced upon me.

is it possible to install this version on top of the WLM that already existed on cooked rom? (xplore 1.1) Or is there any way to uninstall previous version?

WLM - how do I get rid of it?
I made the mistake of installing (ahem, "running" the thing from the Programs folder) WLM (from the RUU_mUn_aRTM_10_2_0_8_WWE-Fixed.exe ROM), and it has seriously messed up a previously good setup...
1) I can't uninstall it - this is a _bug_! It seems to insinuate itself through Windows and I can't make it stop connecting my EDGE connection..
2) Because it seems to do something to connect the EDGE connection, it also seems to prevent me from receiving incoming calls.
3) It seriously slows down my 8125.

This is not specific to this beta version but i get the defbrowser errors when trying to open links from emails also pushmail does not work reliably it often says sign in failed / sync failed. The only way to get it & messenger working again is to clear the password in account options any ideas how to fix this?

Guys can you help me install this please?
Whenever i run the installer on my XP SP1 machine, it does not detect that i am connected to Activesync. I am however, connected to it via USB. The installer just keeps giving the message "Connection error. Make sure ActiveSync is running"
I have tried it on 2 machines now and both have the same result.

MSN Online Contacts removed...when login..YES
Took microsoft long enough to finally have the option to not add msn online contact to your contacts on the phone. Sweet.! love this new version logs in faster.

what is the exact version of this, and i didn't understand, is it notify for contacts comming online!!!

The exe above has the cab in it. Just start the install from your PC, but when it comes up on your phone, don't click on anything. Now with your PC (or with TotalCommander) do a search for *.cab and you'll find the cab. Make a copy of it, and you have your cab file that you can put on your storage card or where ever.

You must not be running a custom rom then, as most all of them stop to ask you where to install the cab, and don't delete the cabs after install.

thanks, works ok for me. glad the contacts issue has been sorted, its much nicer than Pocket MSN. i couldnt find the .cab but the .exe installed fine via my pc.
is this a beta? the install said it was a beta.

Just found out that you do not need to install the Windows Live.

It will install. But what you get a message saying that the installation wants to cancel. Options are yes or no. If you click no it crashes, but if you click yes it installs and works great. Very weird but I had the same problem..

Hi, everybody! I didn't like Live Messenger for PPC, so I did not try this. I tried pocket MSN and this works allright.
I found it somewere in this forum, but I'll try to attach here.

What excactly do you mean by that? Cause when I start the version you refere to (I already have that one preinstalled) I get a warning WLM are going to add my MSN contacts to my phones contactlist.
I know there is an option in WLM to deactivate syncing of contacts and messenger, but that doesnt seem to fix the problem. I think that option is for some other syncing or something..?

Thats the same version I have on my phone. I havent bothered using it cause of the contact importing.
What I and a lot of others are searching, is some new release that doesnt do this mean action.

This version also merges the contacts. I heard that version 10.6.0031.1600 solves the issue but i can't install it on my Dash. Any ideas?

Then I think you should try again. Cause I have it installed on my phone and there are not a single contact from MSN in my phone contacts.

You can choose to not sync contacts

WLM to 10.6.0030.2100:-
Advantage - Remove the automatically add msn contacts onto phone books.
Disadvantage - It slow down the Windows directory browsing times from 7 seconds to 22 seconds.
(Of coz, also slow down the browsing form Windows XP's Explorer to WM via active sync)
I'm still waiting for better version come out only install it.

[Q] Problem with Office Mobile 2010

I have a Samsung i637 from Telcel with Windows Mobile 6.5
I installed Office Mobile 2010 from Marketplace, but my keys does not work fine when I create a new Word document.
What can I do?

I have same problem with samsung i600. Try: menu -> about -> done. It should help You

How I workaround it?
1. Run the Word and create a new document,
2. Save it with your name,
3. Close it and open it again,
4. Hurray - keys working as they should!
(at least worked for me).

Well - all the time... not every time! If I want to create a new word document I have to repeat mentioned procedure every time. In case you want to edit existing document you do not have to repeat it. Just open your document and keyboard is working as it should.

I uninstalled Office and installed it again today (same proceed: Marketplace - download app - install app - reeboot device) - same story... What have I do wrong?
The preinstalled version is still on device. I didn´t overwrite it with new... didn´t even try if it´s possible...

Hi!
Mario Lopez - it says something like "Word Mobile cannot open.Restart device and try again".
Notes didn´t even start and when I start Power Point, it shows My Documents folder, just like in the old Office. Btw, the odl Office doesn´t work either after installing 2010.
The other thing I´ve noticed is absent of SharePoit Workspace 2010 and Outlook too (or is it only for touch devices?)??
Please... light me up... That´s my first WM phone, I like it very much, but I´m completely lost at the moment...

your welcome can you scroll in the contacts menu and see if the contacts become blurry. this an issue in most 21xxx builds

I ave no probleme with contact, no blur even in scroll. Its the classic windows list, with small picture on right.
Windows live don't connect, even in wifi. I have reinstall from Market, enter login and password, click next, waiting and return to home. I have put Explorer as default browser, no change... will test later another account. Messenger and hotmail email account don't work, even in home. MSN Meteo and Myphone works with the same account.
Installing other appli (Market, France 24 : TV online, Bluetooth Headphone) it works.
I have not see another problem, except capslock on physical keyboard (2 click on caps to make lock normally don't work. Its not a problem, there is screen keayboard. All another key of my AZERTY keyboard works fine.
What is Perfman application for ? Can this ap help you with log ?
In the same time I test your ROM, I discover WP 6.5... You have done very good job, thanks again. If you have another test or question i will help you.

Calculator don't work : error message in french, I "translate" :
"Mobilecalculator not signed with confiace certificat or one composant is missing. Try reinstall or restore"
Camera don't work : error message in french, I "translate" :
"can't initialise camera. failure device configuration"
Gmail email and pop account can be create, another hotmail account doesn't works.

thanks for the report in the next build i will cook windows live its a problem in every 6.5 Rom i forgot to add it but it should work when you download it from Marketplace maybe I didn't include a important package that uses Windows live. I also forgot to add the package that fixes the capslock issue. I never used Perfman but I think it is performance monitoring I'm not sure if i am correct. I am going to start building a new version of this Rom that fixes the Issues

I have seen in other post during my search that Live need to be reinstall from market. I do it, uninstal from market, reinstall and dont work.
After enter login and click next, windows "color ball" turning 1 sec and the phone return to home page.

Update: i installed the English version of this Rom and it looks like its a bad build because most of the apps are not working like reboot and home screen cutomizer

WLive, camera, hotmail account for email and messenger don't work.
Perhaps make a rom without Wlive, people in france will install themselve.

I am going to make a 21884 Rom which Has 21896 French SYS files because the 21896 is missing some files like calculator

didn't work the kitchen kept crashing if i built it. Now i will try to cook build 28230 in french

All seems to work exept Windows Live. No matter for me, don't need to chat with MSN
Sync with Myphone works its essential.

I removed windows live and other packages like voip sync with bluetooth watch and etc... because 28230 build is too big for Treo Pro so I had to get rid of some useless things. Windows live didnt work even if i add the package you would still have to go to marketplace and install it so i just got rid of it. Also one other problem is that there is some English still in the build.

Just to let you Know I haven't given up making a ROM for French language the hard part is that I am not able to find any working 6.5 Builds for Treo Pro in French I can Make a French 21054 6.1 Build for you while I try to find a way to build a working 6.5 Sorry again for the delay i feel so bad that im not able to make a ROM for you in French

Lost radio
I used your Build_28230 Rom from couple of day and everything was fine.
Sudenly, today, I've lost radio. Don't know why... I reinsatll rom and nothing change.
I have to reinstall a english rom (build 21857.5.0.66) to have radio. I tryed to reinstall your 6.5_Build_28230_French_Alpha rom after but no radio where find...
If you have a French 21054 6.1 Rom wich working i will be happy to get it.

hmm thats weird here is build 6.1 21054 I think it will be more stable then the other Roms i have built an I like this Rom a little bit more then the Stock Rom Download Here
