hey guys, i recieved my HTC Aria a few days ago, i bought it from the internet as they are not available in the U.K. Everything has been kool but because the phone came with the Eastern Asia ROM (thailand, signapore etc), i cant use my 3G internet connection, because the frequencys are set for eastern asia.
Basically i wanted to ask for some advice and help, whether its installing a new rom or anything else, would appreciate all the help i can get.

I'm running Black Satin on a HTC Hermes 100 I have Radio 1.40.30
I live in Branson, MO I used to be with At&t and switched to T-Mobile. I only get 2 bars and no internet with T-Mobile here, however They have a contract with AT&T so if I manualy pick Cingular under networks I have 5 bars & no internet issues.
My question is should I be running a different radio for T-Mobile Or just keep doing what I'm doing seeing how there will be no roaming charges? Thanks in advance for your input! By the way if I need a new Radio flash could yo please provide a link!

Hi everyone,
This is my first post here after joining this forum. I recently bought an HTC Touch Pro in India after alot of review. Sadly after buying the unit I realized HTC decided not to include 3G in the Indian version. I bought it blindly thinking they wouldn't be any discrepancy in the TP review units on sites such as gsmarena and infosync world but the TP box proved otherwise.
Now I study in the US and was hoping to use the 3G connection offered by T-mobile otherwise i'll resort to EDGE. My question is whether or not my TP actually has a 3G chipset which is disabled by HTC and can be enabled somehow or have they not installed one?

you could unlock the spl and install a custom rom (or a htc WWE stock rom). After installing the custom rom if ur phone has the 3g chip it will start working. Mostly the network and 3g are part of a single chip. So most probably 3g will start working after installing the custom rom. good luck.

Do you have a HTC Touch Pro aka Raphael that comes from Europe? If so, no 3G as of yet. Actually, right now only way you'll get 3G is with the Fuze.
I ask because I am not familiar with India's phone infrastructure, providers,etc
Now some background of what's going on so you'll know if and why you won't have 3G:
HTC touch pro specs
Notice that HSDPA is only available on these frequencies:
Europe/Asia: 900/2100 MHz
For AT&T 3G frequencies are 850/1900 and for T-Mobile, I read they use 1700 and 2100mhz but I suggest you look around a bit more.
Finally, here'es THE thread about enabling the missing bands(frequencies) on the Touch Pro, some people are still working on it, progress has been made, but so far, no 3G in North America.

Ps.: Flashing to a new ROM is still a good idea, some of the ROMs in this forum will give a vert healthy performance boost to your phone!

After googling for a long time, I came to the conclusion that there is no way to remove the false roaming indicator and roaming alert messages (even though I am not roaming) other than flashing the rom. In this case, which rom would you guys recommend? I'll be happy as long as I can get rid of the roaming alerts and everything else similar to the stock rom. I apologize if a related topic has been posted in the forum before as I can't find any guidelines and I am very desperate...

I would recommend to enter in the correspondent sub forum (Rapahael) and READ a lot, then test different ROM´s till you get the one that fits your personal needs.

I recently got a Telstra TP2 on a new contract, but I can't stand what they've done to the ROM. For those who don't know, Telstra have added 4 extra tabs on TF3D (downloads, telstra applications, tv, news and sport) which can't be removed or turned off, and they've put 12 locked (unremovable) program shortcuts on the start menu.
As I'm in a rural area, I need the 850 band the Telstra version of the phone supplies, and I'm worried that flashing a new cooked rom will lose this functionality (I'm very new to this). As it is, the shipped version of the Telstra rom isn't found on this site through the wiki (version 1.19.841.3 (51489) wwe), so I'm scared that I'll lose it forever and won't be able to put it back on if something goes squirly.
Is there anyway I can get around this besides flashing a cooked rom, and possibly losing the shipped rom forever?
Also, have any other telstra users been able to use HDWall on the phone to replace the crappy blue telstra background throughout the device?

I've had a look around, making some heads and tails of it, but I really need to know if I'm going to lose my 850 band with Telstra if I flash another cooked rom without all this Telstra garbage on it.
No you wont
850 is a hardware stuff related and you cant change it with any ROM, so you can install

Hi there, me again.
I was at the Windows 7/Windows Phone pre-launch in Melbourne on Tuesday, and picked the brains of the Microsoft employees manning the Windows Phone booth showing off Winmo 6.5 on the TP2 and D2. One of the first things I was asked during the conversation was if I had already flashed 6.5 on my phone, which I was surprised about. I mentioned my reservations about losing the 850mhz band with Telstra NextG, and the employee told me that the support for the band is built into Telstra's crappy ROM, and would be lost if flashed with anything else.
Are they yanking my chain or what?

I`ve changed my ROM twice, saved my original one.. and I`ve finally encountered a connectivity issue...
Perhaps it`s my using a Telstra, Unlocked HTC Touch Pro 2 with an Athine ROM (though it really doesn`t make any difference what ROM I use... Maybe) on my Rogers BlackBerry Internet plan.
But I`ve used the Sony Ericsson Xperia on it and a few weeks prior to this date, have had no problem surfing the internet.
It MAY be the fact that Rogers is having problems with their network in downtown Toronto, so I`m hoping it`s not my TP2...
In any case, I`m using HDWalls on my phone.. but I`m just (un)installing the individual walls as I go along.
There`s something wrong with my computer that I have to fix because I cannot install the items necessary to use HDsWalls on the phone, and on the computer.
But so far, it`s been the best.
Although, I just have to say.. if you don`t have anything like "background for all" sort of cab files on the phone, I believe;
1) The phone runs faster
2) The background quality is crisper/better
Took me 2 weeks for me to get my Telstra Touch Pro 2 from Australia to Canada, and it was worth it.
I BELIEVE just changing the ROM will do nothing to the radio.
Moving into radio talk, I was wondering if I updated my Telstra phone with the latest AT&T radio build, because the hardware is for 850mhz and so is the build...
Will it enhance my connectivity?

Alright, this is my first post to my recollection, so Im hoping this gets some great responses.
I own a network unlocked HTC M7, coming from Sprint. The thing is, Im in Jamaica, and im using a local service provider called Digicel. They do have 4G services, but regardless of the band I select I only get GSM. Thats the best it gets to be honest. On WiFi, Im all fine, but once it hits mobile data, I automatically get back to the days of our fore fathers.
I have done some research on my own and found that Sprint apparently provides 4G on their CDMA network. I am not very sure if this phone may have 3 radios as a result, and thats what causes this, but I needed some help. I literally just phoned support (Digicel's), who sometimes doesnt seem to have accurate information easily accessible indicated that Digicel's 4G data is available on their 1900 band. TBH, Im not very sure they are certain, and really and truly I am not either. Can I get some help with confirming if this can be used on other carriers comfortably re the radio config?
and if so, is there anything that can be done to have this use 4G on my network? I already did the *#*#4636 thing and ran through all possible network types. Still having the issue. Running lolli 5.0.1.
