I need an ssl vpn that will be compatible with my work's ASA firewalls, just curious if anybody has gotten anyconnect to work on Android or an open source ssl vpn client (I've never found one for Ubuntu yet).

this works for me on my evo using a cisco vpn concentrator and rsa token
All it does is crash on me. Anyone else have success?
our company only has a web-vpn enable. can "robot-vpn" successfully connect via web-based VPN ? If yes, please know how to do setting.
Right now, I can only use microsoft IE to go to login page and do loging and connect to company network.
I have install this ciscoxxx.apk, have tuk.o installed, and rooted. I try "robot-vpn" many time and try to do login and all failed.

VPN_Connections Works for Me

I got this to work (IPSec to AnyConnect running on ASA5500 series)... Change the xx in the hxxp to the appropriate characters and enjoy! You must have the TUN in your ROMs kernel, BTW.
Good Luck!

Yes, that post requesting this was over a year ago.
Cisco sent it to me directly once it was in beta

Thank you for this, I had no idea that this was available.
Do you know how to get that Cisco apk file besides going through the android market place? After much debugging that site still doesn't work for me and I'm going through the hoops for their tech support right now...
finally found it on the net, now getting the dreaded
"could not obtain the necessary permissions to run this application. this device does not support anyconnect"
This is like the early days of java. we're going backwards I tells ya!
Hi,
Actually I use Cisco anyconnect client for rooted android device.
To configure the VPN ssl server on the cisco device you could use the CLI or if you are a beginner, try the CPP cisco software (you need the CCO account).

[Q] [help needed] 802.1x EAP TTLS PAP development for Wp7

So some of the institutions where I use wireless on my HTC HD7 have a secure wifi network. My problem is that it requires 802.1x EAP TTLS PAP support. As far as i know (along with some use of the almighty google)... there is no support for this on windows phone 7 or almost any windows mobile devices (i do recall some ppl on this site being able to do it for the htc s621 with a registry hack).
Is there any sympathetic developer out there willing to take on the task. Once developed and functioning... I would not mind donating
...anyways... for a possible idea and look into what may be required... people on here did develop it for the android pretty recently and its done wonders...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921237
(link of a thread where someone found the hack needed to enable support and another developer was able to find a manageable way to deploy said support)
Yeah, if someone make an app for that, it would be so awesome.
i miss this feature as well, i used symbian before wp7 which offered these advanced settings
but i'm not sure an app can make this happen
I don't mean an app because that definitely wouldn't be the way.... i mean a possible registry edit or a file to deploy with an installer
This is another thing which has been annoying me with WP7. I used to use SecureW2 client with wm6.5 but this isn't available for WP7. The phone also never seems to retain a data connection with O2 in the UK. It works sometimes after using connection set-up app but invariably drops when I need it most.
Any news from this?? EAP-TTLS would be awesome, because Uni Leipzig uses it as well...
I'd like to bump this as well. We're using Cisco's AP running Open with EAP - RADIUS security. All other common mobile OSes (iOS, Android, WinMo 6.x) can connect to this except WP7.
I'd like to recover the thread as the app mentioned is the single most important missing feature for me right now. Since it seems that we will not be getting any more feature updates in this direction (I had kind of hoped for that).

Yeah for me too, I am not exactly sure what 802.1x I need but my university needs a username and pw, and iOS does this natively, and with android you need a separate app. I hope Windows addresses in 7.8.(fingers crossed)

Allowing self signed certificates?

Hiya
Is there ANY way to get android to accept self signed certificates? Im asking since my company's citrix version is using one that isn't supported by android
Here is the answer i got from the citrix guys:
"The problem you are facing is Android platform limitation. The platform does not support importing self signed certificates into the cert store. This is however different to the iOS devices. Hence you are seeing that it is working with the iOS devices."
Hoping some of you can help me out

Any help on this

No Cisco VPN support in ANdroid??

After doing a little research, it looks like Android does not support CISCO VPN's using pre-shared keys??? How could that possibly be if Andoid is supposed to make it's way into the enterprise arena? I can't even use it to connect to my employers network!! Even iDevices can do that by default! Please tell me I'm missing somehting!!
THanks!

There is a link for creating and storing a key on android. If you are looking for an AnyConnect client it appears there is a beta but it requires root:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cisco.anyconnect.vpn.android.rooted
Thanks for the info - I appreciate it! Haven't root'd my TF yet, but the reasons to are building up...
Didn't see anything about PSK's in that thread, but maybe I missed it - I'll read through it again. For the life of me, I can't understand why Android is still missing this functionality - especially with all of the Android tablets now - they make much better remote-control devices than phones do - would be nice to use them to access our work servers when needed!
Don't blame Android.
I know what you mean jtrosky. I don't know why Android can't support Cisco VPN as easy as Apple can

ICS and Group Authentication VPN without Root (NOT AnyConnect)

Hello,
I will preface this by an apology if I am putting this in the incorrect place, or this is a topic that is well covered; but I so far have not been able to get solid information on this.
From what I understand, ICS is going to include and/or support Cisco AnyConnect . However, that does not help the many users out there still using legacy Cisco VPN solution at our workplaces.
Specifically AnyConnect (at least on android, the only flavor I have had experience with) does not support Group Authentication, and neither do the default VPN clients included on Android.
So far I have had success on my Samsung Epic 4G running Froyo using VPNC to connect to my corporate network, but now I am shopping for a tablet. Likewise I have friends at work who want an android tablet but since they can't easily connect to work to do very basic things, they haven't bought.
I don't want to need root just to get a proper VPN connection up and running. For one thing that leaves me dependent upon a tun.ko being available for the tablet, not to mention just getting root in the first place isn't always easy as it was for the Kindle Fire or my Epic. And I certainly am not going to recommend that for my less technical friends.
So all that exposition out of the way, it comes down to this simple question - will ICS have a built in client that will support IPSEC group authentication , or will such client be available to install without root and needing to install modules?
Thanks for your patience if this is covered elsewhere, but most everything I have found in searches here (and elsewhere) for is based on AnyConnect and my company's VPN doesn't support that, and they aren't going to change that anytime soon.
I apologize - this should probably have been in the Question forum.
I would also like to know the answer to this to. my work uses group authentication and there is no apps or anything that will do this!
I am looking for this information as well. I certainly wish Google and Cisco could sit down and get this figured out. Apple did and the iPads at work can VPN in but not my Transformer Prime. I knew this before I purchased it, but went ahead with it hoping this would be added/fixed with ICS.
I havent had a chance to try it yet on my GN but you can now create "IPSec XAuth with PSK" (AKA Cisco VPN). If you have the GSM version of the GN you might run into problems though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20627062
I have a VZW GN device which someone in that thread mentioned works. Since the key for my VPN is quite hard to type I'll try it tonight and post if it works tomorrow.
