[REQ] World Clock - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Hey it would be nice to have a widget that shows clock times across the world, they is a nice on the HTC sense theme, but one for the Froyo

http://www.doubletwist.com/apps/search/?q=world+clock+widget

I personally use DiviClock

Thanx

Does something exist like that, that has a list of cities and you just pick the city and it displays the time in a widget?

try moxier world

http://www.appbrain.com/app/de.softxperience.android.worldclockwidget
Is exactly what I personally want, except.. to work. It doesn't keep up properly, not sure if it keeps time itself and doesn't keep synced or what, but it's pretty horrid sometimes.... I keep up with a TZ +9.5 from me and sometimes I'll see it as far off as +8.5...
The others I saw nothing interesting... Except the one wasting most of the widget space on an android icon

Fancy widget was malicious!

After updating fancy widget for the last time my launchers began to become unstable and as of now sense UI forecloses every time I attempt to open it.

Check what else you put in there besides fancy widget, version 1. 30 is working great for me on spica i5700 running 2.1 with launcher pro and judging by comments no one so far is experiencing what you are reporting.

Sense blows. Vanilla android FTW.
Fancy widgets works fine. Do some troubleshooting before you pop off at the mouth.

What's wrong with Sense?
Isnt Fancy widget similair (about the same) compared with HTC's Sense clock widget? Makes me think why you would like to have Fancy widget while you have Sense
LauncherPro + Fancy Widget works like a charm on my Nexus

Yeah, doesn't make sense at all Seriously, yeah, I'd just use the HTC Clock widget.
I still like the whatever-the-app-is when you touch the weather in the Sense Clock widget.. World weather, time, stopwatch, etc all in one place. Played with it in XDAndroid a bit, but using a stock Nexus One and have separate apps for such things now.
You do realise the HTC Clock Widget can only be used on Sense UI, right?

well, i dont know about him/her, but i would ALWAYS prefer a knock-off(no offense to dev) over the real thing.........lol. i dont get the op posting this and insulting the dev who put this up. you couldve taken the time to find the real culprit responsible for your issues rather than giving the dev a bad rep. Im sure its more likely a combination of your apps/kernel/rom/recovery image not playing nicely together. you need to locate the issue rather than insulting a dev that tries to provide ppls with no sense, the ability to experience one of its most popular, well-known widgets...im not surprised you got flamed for this one. (REQUEST) LG Optimus Widget

It would be great if someone could port this clock/weather widget from the LG Optimus. It is sort of like the miui clock, but a lot better looking. Thanks.
That is nice! Wouldn't mind that on my phone! Anyone cleverer than me know how to do it?!

Yeah I saw that on Gizmodo. the rest of the ui looks different from the touchwiz3 that came on my phone by default, I wonder if thats a new version.

Touchwiz is Samsung's UI, this one is from the new LG phones, they do look really similar though. I would think that it should be possible though, I am actually still using the the LG calendar that someone ripped from a previous LG phone.
"GO Weather" has a similar widget (Too similar?).
I attached a couple of screens.
Not sure what other phones it will work with but you can try this

I did try that a couple of days ago and it didn't have Seattle or surrounding area's available for weather. It's pretty close to the LG, but quite as clean, but still pretty good. If they can get more locations working I may consider it. Thanks

I have the Fascinate(Verizon's Galaxy S), from what I understand that will only work with HTC phones.
I figured I'd check on this to see if there has been any kind of progress made?
You would most likely have to port the framework....very difficult

I was hoping to try that GO weather app, because I really like how the widget looks. Unfortunately, I live in this rather small, obscure town that no one's heard of, and it didn't come up when I searched for it. Maybe someday they'll add Los Angeles, CA to their list, but it's not on there now.

*Explain your home screen layout*

I thought it would be cool for us to share the reason behind whatever our home screen setup is, rather than posting a screen shot.
Do you like the home page to be empty & clean looking? Do you organize everything into folders?
Hopefully this thread will bring out some different ideas on how we can organize our home screens.
I personally like the home page to be blank so I can see my wallpaper, other pages with my most commonly used apps.
Share
I llike my most frequently used widgets and apps on my home screen, but I agree, I would like it if my homescreen was just my walpaper... but I guess I am more of a functional person than an appearance person.
If I have a girlfriend, my home screen is blank. If I don't, it has a huge clock and a few shortcuts.

Omg roflmfao!! I didn't see the "L" in CLOCK
Dyslexia wins again!!!
My bad.
Fancy Widget clock shows time, weather, and date.
below that is my appointment widget which tells me my next two upcoming calendar events.
Below that is my 4 basic app shortcuts (Nav, Market, Camera, Email).
Nice and organized, and gives me all my most important info at a glance.
To the left of my screen is my list of most used contacts, and to the left of that is my work apps (VNC, RDP, terminal, network testers, etc.)
To the right of my homescreen is my shortcuts for most used apps, semi-grouped into categories (such as games, music related, astronomy related, etc.)
Everything is very symmetric and functional, because that's the knd of person I am.

I think the implication was that the picture of his girlfriend would be the background, and hence, if he has a picture as a background, he wouldn't want to obscure it with apps/widgets/etc...
Least that's what I assumed. If it's not that, then I have no idea.
I only have a clock and dockbar on my home screen.
One page right is g search, power control and Atk widgets, and apps.
One page left has camera app. Nice and clean, literally only what I need.

I have all app shortcuts that I use daily on home. To the right I have power control, astro, battery use, shootme, etc, basically utility screen. To the left I have mort player widget and pandora widget.
I use microbes or light grid wallpaper. Something dark, simple, colorful, but not busy.

Honeycomb Style Lock-screen

Hey all,
Want a HONEYCOMB style lockscreen?
Try this one. It looks really close, if not the same.
Works for 2.2, 2.2.1, 2.3.3
GSM & CDMA
*Known bugs
Some user experience a "double lockscreen" this is being worked on. This bug is on all versions paid or free. Reboots sometimes works, or stop the lockscreen and start it again from in app settings.
works landscape and portrait.
SRRY, forgot to ad the thanks, until reminded. Thanks, SunPengfei
I have found that this version works best in our tabs.
Feel free to update through market, but, again,I found this earlier version works best.
Enjoy.
Or get the paid version on the market, although I dont see any difference. (especially if your rom has an adblocker or adfree)
HIT THE THANKS BUTTON IF I HAVE HELPED
owh dude , i'm confuse right now . you should add the app with the other thread , and name it some goodies for the buddies .. i'll try it and give u feedback
OP, is this something you've put together yourself? or somebody elses work you're posting?
If its the latter then make sure to give the appropriate credit where its due.
Cheers.

ps, is your nin theme available for htc desire?
WOW! This was what i was looking for (I just really wanted an auto rotating lockscreen) !
I've found a few things:
The status bar is still openable
There isn't an option to make the wallpaper see-through. Meaning we cannot see the live wallpaper beneath it.
The lock circle gets cut off when moved to extreme points.
Not deal breakers and considering its actually pretty good as is, I can live with those things maybe there will be fixes and additional features!
Thanks!

Non sense roms and their lack of decent widgets.

Hi all,
Tried runnning a non sense rom, miui and c7 and i have to say i struggled to fill the pages on my desktop, theres no full screen weather app half as good as the sense widgets, infact theres no clock as good looking as the sense clock either, the phonebook on non sense rom's doesn't match up contacts with their fb and twitter counterparts and it actually does lag at times, i thought i'd give it a whirl but i have to say i was left wanting.
Any ideas as to what weather app, main clock, bookmarks widget etc that you would use?
Because unless i'm being silly, there really wasn't a great selection out there.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sense widgets are a bunch of pointless crapware. Why anyone needs a massive obnoxiously gargantuan oversized clock to invade half their screen like a malignant tumor is beyond me. We have this beautiful, huge Sensation screen and you waste half of it on 3-4 numbers? You must really want to seem "cool" in front of your friends. You already have a clock, it's in the notification bar. You can also get a weather notification on the market. Btw combining contacts manually in cm7 takes like 10 minutes tops, once.
