Change bootanimation desc.txt file? - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

Hey guys...
I made my own bootanimation and i have it working fine but plays a little slow. I use the desc file from the animation i made mine from but if i change the value that i believe is the fps value and save then the whole thing doesnt work...
How can i edit the desc file to speed up playback and save so it works?
Thanks!

Best mp4 converter for HD 2

can anybody tell me which program can I use to convert .avi files to .mp4 files in best resolution supported by hd2 ? As far as I know Mp4ForHd converts only files to touch hd resolution so as I asked before, which program can be used to convert to mp4 and in which resolution? And my second question - in upper right corner there should be a litle icon which allows me to disable running aplications - I don't have it, how can I turn it on ?
Well, the Touch HD and HD2 have the same screen resolutions (they are both WVGA) despite the size differences. I have used MP4forHD and find that the audio/vidio sync is out on the HD2. I tend to use Any Video Converter which is freeware and allows for much greater customisation to suit your needs, and have yet to find any sync issues. Be sure to keep the video bitrate <= 2000 as values above this start to effect the framerate/ playback smoothness. Also, it is best to keep the resolution at WVGA otherwise you will increase the chance of exceeding the 2GB file size limit. Anything file size above this the HTC Album program wont play (i'm assuming this is what you want to use?).
i use Super i think its the best freeware

- Support for MOD video files (JVC cams)
- Added a new video size 768x576 (JVC cams)
- Added two new profiles: HD2 (for HTC HD2) and JVC (for JVC cams)

Ok if u guys want to create some urselves this is how i did it.
Get one of these utube videos, these r gud Link
Then download it using an online converter, i download at hd quality as mp4
Now i used vidcrop to crop the length of the video as well as the resolution.
Then once i exported the video from vidcrop, i used avcutty to dump them as bmp.
Then i used faststone photo resizer to convert them to png's at the same time controlling the quality of the images so they dont end up being 10mb each

So after that, use those images to create a lwp using my script. Done.

Download the file, extract it. move the extracted file to sd card.
from phone: using root explorer, locate extracted file, move it to system/app, you will get a warning message saying camera.apk already exists are you sure you want to overwrite it?
click ok
long press on camera.apk and change permissions accordingly.
USER: check "read" "write"
GROUP: check "read"
OTHERS: check "read"
reboot phone
I can't play the file on Windows 7. I have tried with many third party .3gp apps. But it didn't success. So which software do I have to play on PC.
And what about photo improvement as you did great job with the 2.1 one??? When could we be able to adjust exposure, X10 has quite big problem to take good photos without exposure adjusting during photo shooting...

Cheers mate. I forgot that VLC player.
When I compared to watch .3gp and .mp4, .mp4 video quality is better than .3gp

MMS settings
Hi ... as for 2.1 camera excellente job .... I can cleary see the improvement
As usual to change the audio may be dangerous for shyncronisation
One think I observed and I would like to suggest is concerning the MMS settings
Currently the format is 3gp but with size 640 by 480 ......
Trying differente sizes ... produce reboot when playing the video
Because of these settings the video length pemitted within the 300k standard is just 7-8 sec istead of the almost 30 sec permited with 320 by 240 or by using QIF smaller sizes......
What I wonder is if it would be possible to set the MMS video on 3gp but with smaller size or if it is available a tool (like the one used in the last 2.1) able to resize the mms video
Thanks
Is this the same Camera app that Wolfbreak has included as an update to his CM 6.1.3 v4.4?
If so then can you optimize the 720p quality please, since I get audio delays and the recorded videos also have lags in them. The 720p can be enabled by just clicking 'Custom' in the quality settings and although you see green lines and distorted images on screen, the camera app actually records in 720p
If you can fix the audio and video issues, this will be the final answer to _ALL_ of our camcorder woes
Camera uninstalled by mistake..
Any ideas on how to install the new or get the old one back on CM 6.1.3 v4.4. Should have just replaced the camera.apk but instead I uninstalled.
Update: Used flashtool to install camera.apk from Rendeiro. Thanks to him.
Install the codec from here...
http://www.windows7codecs.com
You dont need any 3rd party softwares.... Say thanks, if helped....

[MOD][2011-08-27]Improved video & audio setting

Hi there,
here's my patched media_profiles.xml which improves your LG 3D video&audio recording quality.
The sound is significant improvement, i was sick of that "crispy" noise. After trying this patch you'd hear the sound is more natural.
You only need to apply these settings (replace the file in your system).
No need for additional patches or extra camera apps!
For recording on SD I recomend to use Class 6 or better, but i've made some tests on Class 4 with pretty good results as well.
That this improves:
2D and 3D video bitrate to 15Mbps
Video sound to 48kHz at 256kbps
What do I need
Your rooted LG Optimus 3D
Any file manager (eg. Root Explorer)
Download my file mediaprofiles.zip (see link below)
How do I install it
Root your phone (if not already done)
Download the file mediaprofiles.zip
Extract the media_profiles.xml from the Zip to the SD card of your phone
In your phone file manager:
go to system/etc and make a backup of your media_profiles.xml (eg rename it)
copy or move the new media_profiles.xml (the downloaded) to system/etc
Reboot your phone
Enjoy improved video & sound quality
Note that some players may still report the sound is only LQ at 24KHz 64kbps but just try it, you'll hear the difference very well
BUGS
Front camera is not recording
Camera app may crash when saving video - however video should be saved correctly.
... will try to get this fixed asap ...
DOWNLOAD:
File attached
Thank you so much,great job
15mb are for 720p or 1080p in 2d?
thanks so much
great mod =))
Seems to be working fine. Video is crisper in high detail areas and the bitrate in my sample video increased from 8 Mbit/s to about 12 or 13 Mbit/s.
Some weird behavior though: After I've shot a video (when I tap the Stop button) I get booted to the home screen instead of remaining in the Camera application. The video itself is fine though, no corruption or anything, but it's a bit of an annoyance to get booted.
Hi,
the bug with front camera seems to be fixed,
also the crashing camera app when saving the video seems to be fixed.
I'll make some tests and if this will work fine I will post the updated MOD asap....
I m using root explorer and i can't replace the mod file, i have read only message

Had the same Problem. Had to deinstall Root explorer and update to the latest Version it worked then.

P. S. But 3D recording dont work for me
P.p. S after recorded 2 1080p video, the camera stop working
New MOD attached.
This is 2D/3D video still at 13-15Mbps
Bugs fixed:
Front camera working (with its default LQ settings)
Original Camera app is no longer crashing after saving the video
New bug:
Sound quality is normal - default, no improvement.
Will try to fix this asap.....
3d recording is working now?
its working on the two phones i got. feel free to test on yours. thanx.

OMg.... stupid.
EDIT: ( dont be kid, you just downloaded my mod and edited media profiles.... i checked it right now... and is my custom media profiles... )
Check the original media profiles, then check my media profiles and you see the diference, and then check my media profiles with the media profiles of this mod.. the same, just edited the bitrate...
And 1 more thing about the "audio" tweak... Be carefull with that, because some phones cant handle it for any reason, and the recording will crash soon as the phone "exceed" the limit.
may sound strange, but can we have a "compromise" version?
I would love this as the macroblocking on 3D is obvious on my big TV, but my SD card isn't that fast, any chance of an 8mbps version? (for 3D, double the bitrate of stock but not so high it needs an expensive SD card)

[SOLVED!] Help with bootanimation resolution

I've recently started to create a new bootanimation for my Moto G, but I can't get the resolution right! I know the res for the Moto G is 720 x 1280, but I can't find a way to make my images fit right. I extracted the images from the video I attached below with free video to JPG converter, but I am having trouble with the height. The video is in 1080p, and I need a way to increase the height I guess? I have spent hours on this, and if someone can show me how to fix this, I'll be extremely grateful. Thanks!
@The Dark Defender ..... Use the free graphics program "PhotoScape" ..... once using it select the option "Batch Edit" ...... then you will be able to edit all your jpg's in the animation sequence by selecting them and "Resizing" .... you may have to do a bit of "boxing and coxing" to keep the correct aspect ratio but I'm certain you will be able to sort that out. If I have time I'll look at your video and depending on how busy I am I might have a go and post back.
@The Dark Defender ..... I've done some work to your video. Firstly without wishing to "teach you how to suck eggs" I must make the following comment.....You say that the video is in HD (1080p), that statement is almost sudden death to boot animations because the number of frames that are produced by a 1080p process is huge compared with the number of comparable frames produced by "Standard Definition", I have produced several animations both for my phones and my tablet using clips I have captured from BD disks and the size of the animation jumps up alarmingly. So what I did with your video was as follows..... From the original files I deleted 224 frames from various parts of the video, trying to keep that figure to as many near duplicates as possible.....I then used PhotoScape ("Batch Edit") to resize the frames to 720 x 1280 .....I then built a boot animation using those frames ..... this built ok the only trouble being it was 95 Mg in size which is utterly outrageous!..... I then processed the frames through another graphics program (Pixillion Image Converter Plus) with which I was able to decrease the original definition and finished up with an animation which was 12 Mg in size which is acceptable.
JPG's from HD files are high quality, which can make for huge animations, and can stand having the definition reduced.
The two attached files are (1) The finished animation (the title tells you that one) and (2) The individual jpg frames altered as to size and definition and zipped (again the title is self explanatory).
I appreciate that the final effort might not be as you would wish but possibly you can work with the individual frames to achieve a result which you prefer. Feel free to use or adapt any part of my animation if it helps you.
Thank you

Wow thanks so much! I'm gonna check these out right away. I had no idea 1080p wasn't optimal for bootanimations. I was just confused on how to get the proper resoluton for the images. I'll learn a lot from this, and I appreciate the time you put out to do this. Thank you.
Another problem
@metpolds The bootanimation you made is perfect, but for some reason my phone slowly stutters than freezes on almost the last couple of frames. The only way to stop it is to launch fastboot mode and go into recovery and system restore to a backup I luckily did not too long ago. It did this with another bootanimation as well. Hmm definitely phone related. It really stinks because I know it isn't a problem with the animations. Do you have any ideas on what might be causing this or how to fix? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Oh, and also don't know if it'll help but right before it freezes the screen's brightness drastically dims, almost like when it unlocks.
EDIT: Fixed! Turns out my boot logos need to be mp4 format because im using stock ROM. I'll get the hang of things eventually lol.
@The Dark Defender ..... Glad that I was able to help ..... As regards boot animations in mp4 format, I have to say (but I'm no expert) that Motorola is the only phone or tablet that I have knowledge or know of that uses mp4 video files instead of jpg or png single frames. However even though Motorola uses mp4's you can still use conventional single frame jpg's if you wish.
As you probably know if you create an animation in mp4 then it has to be placed in the following folder in your Moto G ...../data/local/moodle ..... and the mp4 type of desc.txt (videodesc.txt) has totally different parameters to that used by single frame animations. Again be careful of the size.
The stuttering you are experiencing I can't be certain about, I believe it's a fault with the animation, I seem to recall seeing someone in one of the threads experiencing the same problem but I can't remember exactly where or when. To be on the safe side I would be wary of installing it. If you felt adventurous you could delete some of the last frames i.e. the blue ones after the writing "Welcome to Sword Art online" making it shorter. BUT don't rely on my suggestion in case you "brick" your device.
Best of luck with your Moto G and animations.
