I've been reading a lot of post about the use or should I say the misuse of Setcpu with over/under-clocked kernels. Mainly speaking about letting the stock governor do the work and only use Setcpu to monitor this.
I found this app (Temp+CPU) on the market and have only been using this.
Wondering why this hasn't been mentioned in any of the discussion about SetCPU and kernels?? Its an awesome app!
The widget updates are adjustable every .25seconds - 30min.
and will measure up to 4 stats: CPU frequency, usage, composite %, temp, battery temp in degrees C or F, free ram, battery level or date.
pro version you can change widget colors too.

I'm trying to find a widget I had awhile back, it monitored battery temp, cpu frequency, ram, and a few other things.. it was a free app. I know there are paid apps that show this but I don't want to spend money on a status widget. Thanks!
Elixir will do all of that.

Hii thank me one-- i'm new mem
System panel does a good job, has lite and paid versions.

Elixir was the closest to what I wanted, but the battery drain was worse than b4.. I found what I was looking for, it's called Perfect System Monitor. Has the data I want with about 1/2 the battery drain of Elixir.. TY for your input guys
Nice alternative to set cpu, has dropdown menus instead of sliders. Rockin nils business z with ziggys latest bfs no havs ocd to 1.114, it flies!

It is a very good App, Ive tested it for some time, even if you set your phone to a frequency that causes Kernel Panics/Crashes - and set it to boot. The App will see that the phone turned off improperly, and will reboot at stock frequency, and will have an icon in the status bar explaining.
Its very small, and does the job, and has a very small system footprint too!
Has anyone installed this CPU temp & usage widget only to notice your CPU usage gets stuck @99% usage? How accurate is the info in this widget? Is it because I have no task killer on my device & there may be several processes running in the background? I notice the CPU usage is down under 50% after a restart or boot up. Can someone add any enlightening information please.

if you are referring to Temp+CPU yes I have been using it for ages. its not what is making you CPU go high, unless you have refresh for it set really fast. mine is currently set for 1sec
Hi Bro, i recommend Elixir app, that what are you looking.
it wouldnt let me edit the post.
also if you refresh is set to a really long interval, it will appear to be stuck at 99% of its 99% at the polling time, and will say that for the duration its set at.
no need for a task killer. i personally use startup manager (be careful as the freebie is a trial and if it expires you cant undo what it changed easily) to prevent things i rarely/never use from starting up. a good writeup on why to not use task killers specific to android. i used *nix for years so i didnt even bother looking for a task killer. in nix within a day your ram is full and always stays full. its managed beautifully and makes multitasking a breeze

is it possible to set tasker to reduce the clockspeed of the cpu when battery heat exceeds a certain limit?
I've never tried to do that specifically but I'm almost positive that setcpu has that option and slightly less sure that Droid over clock (I prefer this app) has it.
Edit: just tried it with setcpu, go to profiles, enable, and set from there. Also droidoverclock is now android overclock.

Yep.. i know, but i use nofrill and its much more better than others..i tried..
But unfortunately it dont have any presets. Hence, can i use tasker to do that

I have Faux clock and Setcpu installed on my phone, I use SetCPU for the widget and the profiles, while I use Faux clcok for GPU IO control and undervolting. Will having both controlling the cpu cause any battery problems or cpu problems? I have them set both to the same settings atleast for the screen on and screen off (these are the only settings that both apps have the same of) to avoid any problems.

its probably better to only have 1 cpu controlling app running at a time. if you want to undervolt and control the cpu speed i recommend system tuner. the user interface may scare you at first but just go to the tweaks icon at the bottom and set the cpu speed/profile and undervolt there. it will be all you need unless you really find it necessary to control the gpu, which i dont think is really necessary anyway
