** WidgetLocker re-sign not work, I had no idea why it can't install as others. Any Expert can help me on this, why it won't work?
** Sorry, for now you need to manually copy replace via root explorer
** For those getting the Re-sign WidgetLocker, kindly re-request as the re-sign WidgetLocker is not working even manual copy via root explorer.

Method A - Installation via Astro File Manager
For any HDPI Phone, no root required. Make sure Unknown sources is tick under Application settings.
Uninstall your current one.
Copy my MOD edition to SDcard.
Install via File Explorer, example: Astro File Manager.
Use Method B if not working, means the sign I do not working correctly.
Method B - Manual copying via Root Explorer - for root user only
Uninstall your current copy.
Manual remove from /data/app if you can't uninstall manually.
Copy my MOD copy to /system/app via root explorer.
Before copying, make sure click the Mount R/W button for write access in root explorer.
Set permission to rw--r--r
Restart the phone.
Open up your WidgetLocker, goto Settings -> Look & Feel -> Slider & Layout and choose iPhone.
Instruction on MOD your own .apk file
Extract the .apk file using 7zip and locate to drawable-hdpi folder and check which .png file you need to modify.
Now open back again the .apk file using 7zip, choose open archive, don't unzip it.
Browse to that drawable-hdpi folder and drag in your modified .png file inside. The 7zip will auto save the file.
Sign the .apk if you need to install as per normal. Google around for how to signing the .apk, at the moment I still not sure why certain app (probably paid app?) not working even after re-sign.
THANKS for the author that provide the original artwork.

Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE]
what ROM are you using?
Thanks, this works like a charm on my Droid w/ ESE53 now! I do have a noobish question, though -- I was trying to theme this launcher a bit, but after I did, it wouldn't install anymore. I tried doing it throug ADB and get the following error:
Code:
INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE
And LogCat throws the error:
Code:
Package com.helixprogect.launcher has no signatures that match those in shared user android.uid.shared; ignoring!
I did have to re-sign the package using testsign.jar, but I'm guessing that I need to use different keys, but have no idea about how to do that. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks
I have an q: is it possible to lift up the app bar icons few pixels?
The seem to be a bit low.
arctu said:

I am using stock nexus.
@btdownloads7
what command did you used? adb install? the reason is because user data of that app already exists on /data/data and hence adb detects the conflict of different apk being used.
try adb install -r
or if that doesn't work. delete the user data first before installing.
oh and also, mine spreading to the droids forums? thanks!
EDIT: worst case: http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/3f084d78a15f6d3d
@DocRambone
i think i need a better solution for that. it has always been that low right? as in the handle view.. the icons alignment are made to follow handle view.. if not, it'll look messy.. imagine floating icons with sinking handle bar. :S
@htcmagic
if i dont mind, i'll need a logcat of after you try running that command..
I did use "adb install -r", and I didn't think that I'd need to wipe data because I used a Nandroid backup before I ever installed your original app. I'm using Pete's Bugless Beast rom right now, and will do a full system wipe and install it from scratch. Will let you know shortly if that works.
P.S. I just posted a link to this thread on AllDroid.
no no... not talking about wipe data.. do this:
adb shell rm -r /data/data/com.helixproject.launcher

Ahh, I misunderstood -- I already did this, but no luck. I'm going to wipe data anyway, just to see if the problem gets fixed.
And I was looking in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=529124
It's talking about a totally different ROM, but I figured that the same principles would apply. And it looks like the people there didn't find an adequate solution. It sounded like the signature in the launches has to match the signature in framework-res.apk, but I'm pretty much a noob at this, so I couldn't figure out how to make that work.
wait dont! lol.
edit /data/system/packages.xml
remove any traces of com.helixproject.launcher
Quick theme for this launcher
OMG yes. I got so depressed when I found your Launcher2 mod and I couldn't get it to work on my Droid. This is PERFECT! I had tried Home++ before and loved the shortcuts on the bottom but H++ was buggy/unstable and I wished that I could drag my own icons down there. You took care of that and this thing seems fast and stable so far.
I hope to eventually get your Launcher2 but this will definitely keep me happy until someone with more Droid knowledge makes it work!
Thanks!
Btw, how difficult is it to change the tab on this launcher? I'd like to customize mine to match the smoked glass theme that I am using. Can I open the apk, modify the pngs, and then reinstall it?
arctu said:

LOL. Did that already as well. I should have mentioned all this in the op. There were no traces, and I made a Nandroid backup before wiping, so it's no big deal.
Still got the error message after full wipe and new ROM re-fash. Could you possibly modify the theme if I send you the PNG files? I'm trying to make it look like the Smoked Glass theme that I use in my stock launcher:
I don't know how good it'll look, but I modified the images to match the smaller app drawer handle, so I wanna give it a shot.
logcat after adb install HelixLauncher_1.0.apk
03-12 20:35:38.278: ERROR/PackageManager(74): Package com.helixproject.launcher has no signatures that match those in shared user android.uid.shared; ignoring!
03-12 20:35:38.358: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(4336): ERROR: thread attach failed
@DocRambone
COOL! nice work man! i love your simplistic taste!
maybe i should use your menu icon instead of droid's.
@gardobus
Ask DocRambone
EDIT:
@htcmagic
have you allowed install on non-market apps? (settings->applications) if you have and it still doesn't work, i'm sorry, i guess unrooted phones needs to have valid signatures which can only be obtained through market.
@btdownloads7
hmm.. i think you encountering a similar problem with htcmagic. ask DocRambone how he did it. I have zero knowledge on theming. Heh.

Having FUN with ADW.Launcher v1.2.0 + ADW.Elegant theme
I'm a bit confused, why is it that you need to install this through the SD card? Why doesn't it work like helix or the launcher pro where you can just install an apk?
why doesnt mine look like the far left screen shot?
I think this should be made a standalone home replacement so we could install just like any other app from the market. Not everybody has root.

LG LAUNCHER IN THE MARKET
i been scrolling in the android market and came across this application which looks like the port of the old launcher i did a while back,
(this version has bugs on them and doesnt work very well)
i want to first say that it took me a time to make this launcher to work, LG is the owner of this launcher, but still give credit to those who work and put time on this, damn.
ENJOY

I like it however the calendar widget does not seem to work. Is it suppose to pull the events from the sense calendar or go to it when you click a date? As of right now when I click on a date in the calendar widget it does nothing. How did you get the sense clock to work, or is it something diff (forgot the name of the other one lol).

open the app drawer and click on "Menu" of ur phone and just click organize and drag it to the dock. if this is what you mean,
moving around the icons and labels you have to open the app drawer and just click "menu" theres alot of options there.
Removing

you dont, just replace them with another one .... click and drag new one over the one you want to replace.
This is pretty smooth. I wish the rosie launcher would allow you to add your own shortcuts to it. I hate the default shortcuts we're stuck with.

Weird... installed just fine... cannot change any of the icons at the bottom. Only has messages and Internet to the right of the programs buttons. Nothing to the left. I don't know why...re-installed same thing. Nice Idea though...

This Themed LauncherPro based on the Elite Series Rom by Konikub and the ACS.
First i want to say thank you to KoniKub and the ACS for their amazing work.
Thanks to Konikub] for the use of many of his icons used when creating this theme. additionally thanks to Signals23 for the creation of the honeycomb style widgets.
Download: ES3 Launcher Pro
To use this themed version of LauncherPro:
First get the file from above
the follow the below:
1) place the zip on the root of your SDcard
2) uninstall existing LauncherPro if you have it installed
3) reboot to recovery
4) flash the zip
5) reboot
that's it you should have a working themed LauncherPro.
Some people are having problems flashing the zip. I am working on exploring what could possibly be the issue. If for some reason after flashing the zip you do NOT have LauncherPro on your phone you can just open the zip pull out the launcher pro apk place it on your phone and use es file explorer root explorer astro etc to install it that way. To get the ES3 dock go to preferences appearance dock background and select Froyo Wide.
2/25/2011 - Added ES2 Icon Pack. This pack includes the original Icon pack created by Konikub for elite series as well as the modified icons and new icons i have created for my launcherpro. The "dock Icons" are designed to be smaller to fit with the theme. They can be used as regular icons however may not look as sharp. Thank you once again to Konikub and The ACS[/B]
To use this Icon Pack on your dock:
1) Download the file
2) unzip the file and place the folder on the root of your SDcard (NOT THIS IS NOT FLASHABLE)
3) when placing an activity or shortcut on your dock select custom icon and use gallery to select the icon you wish.
To use these icons for apps on your home screen:
1) Download the file
2) unzip the file and place the folder on the root of your SDcard (NOT THIS IS NOT FLASHABLE)
3) Get the app Desktop Visualizer from the market.
4) add a widget to your screen and select the desired desktop visualizer widget size.
5) click the widget and complete the actions.

Thanks a lot for creating this ELITE themed Launcher Pro for everyone to use. It is a VERY popular launcher used by thousands. This themed LP has been requested in my thread several times. You're a HUGE asset to the Android and XDA community!
This custom themed Koni's ELITE version of Launcher Pro is the perfect compliment to my favorite ROM.
It works flawlessly!
Great job on the themed launcher pro! The perfect compliment to koni's elite series II!
Thanks all I am glad it is going over so well. I ussually modify a lot of stuff with the welcome this had received may start publicly releasing more.

It will theme the launcherpro menus. By taskbar do you mean dock? If so yes. To select the themed dock set the dock background to froyo wide.
If you mean the notification bar.no out will not theme it.that is part of the system frame work which is not affected with this themed app. Thr icons for the notification bay in the screen shoots are from elite series rom by koni and the acs.

There are two ways to regain your plus. Once you install try to access a plus feature and 3 options come up. One of which is to enter your code. Enter your origonal plus code.
The second way is to backup launcherpro with titaniumback up before you uninstall. Once you have the themed version installed go back to titanium backup and tell it to restore data only.

Mine restored my plus features just by trying to access a plus feature. When I tried to resize a widget LP prompted me to enter my registration info. I hit cancel, but the next time I tried it worked without being prompted again.
Very nice.

All you have to do is enter in your code, and you're good to go.. You still will have your plus, along with the Theme..
I understand you are working on a Icon Pack for LP on the Elite I. I would like to have an Icon for the Vignette camera app included if you can make one.

[APP][2.3.3+] Devbro Appdrawer 1.3.280

Introducing Devbro Appdrawer by me(Devbro)
What is it?
This is a appdrawer replacement. In the normal appdrawers that exists right now, you can only organize your apps in generic ways(alphabetically, more recently used,...) or in folders that make accessing your apps one step further to reach. No more worries. Devbro Appdrawer now fixes this problem. You can organize your apps in folders and swipe to access them. It can be easily replaced with all general appdrawers, just replace the shortcut in go launcher, ADW launcher and etc. Or you can create a shortcut to it for daily use.
What else can it do?
You can organize your folders in whatever customized order you like. It is also possible to uninstall or view each app's info just by long clicking on the icon.
What is the cost?
It is free. No catches of any kind.
What are the permissions for?
I am looking to see how my app will be used by other people. So There is a small code that send me a list of your folders and how you organized them. There is also a list of how you ran your programs.
All data that are being sent are generated from within the app. nothing else is sent. If you do not like the idea you can simply disable it from the settings menu. If you like to do this manually, there is also an option for it in the settings.
sdcard access is needed for backup and restore
Do you like my app?
If the answer is yes, then just use it and tell your friends about it. You can also give it 5stars in the market.
Do you have a suggestion/Did you find a bug?
Just post it here and I will look into it. Thanks in advance.
Do you want to help?
As per suggested, I need a new icon. If you have seen one that I can use post a link here please.
Which feature that you like to see next?
1. dark theme, theming options - done
2. customizable icons
3. new app folder
4. other language support

I am strongly considering this. It may take me a while as most of the code that I am using are not part of GB. Fear not I shall find a way to do this.
would it be too much to ask for a direct download link? I don't have wifi access and can only download from download sites :s

I am glad to hear I haven't done any major testing on 4.2 yet. Are there any problems?
Good idea! It works fine in my Galaxy s3 with mihome launcher. My feedback is this:
1) app icon should be more like a generic launcher icon. Current icon isn't representative of what most people are used to looking for an app drawer.
2) hide the title bar so it feels more like a native app drawer. Maybe even give the option of a transparent background.
3) default black theme looked ugly because the folder label had a white background. How about making the folder label background transparent and underlining the name instead?

I am seriously considering all your good advices. I am not a graphic designer, it takes longer to come up with more effective graphical designs. Creating icons are not easy it may take me a little longer to create or find one.

By shortcuts I meant to put it on your screen as a widget.
The goal of this app is to improve the speed that you find and launch your apps. So you spend less time finding them.
