I've been wanting to ask this question quite for some time but I always forgot. I have been using capychimp's capyslide for the past day, previously I was on offical rogers. I found that games have about 6-10 fps more in capyslide.
Some games actually become playable with capyslide.
So my question si why is that? Are the capyslide display drivers better optimized?
And, if we could implement this in other roms? Is there any chance to get somehow even more fps?
And just for example:
Offical rogers: Neocore: 20-24 fps, Quake 2: 4-7 fps, Quadrant 2D: 176 3D: 218
Capyslide: Neocore: 28-30 fps, Quake 2: 8-14fps, Quadrant 2D: 260 3D: 239
good question I think i know the awnser there is a app wich consumes batttery and is anoying, the cyanbot (something like that , has a blue icon) Is always running at 4% CPU speed, diference must come from that i guess. I deleted it my phone was great

Just curious what you all are getting on the MT4GS?
Been playing on the phone all day and just ran my tests...
Quadrant: 1995
NeoCore: 59.7
AnTuTu: 4476
Linpack: 74.389
And please be honest It doesn't to any justice to inflate scores to stand out..it's childish.
BTW the phones awesome. Well built, smooth and practical.
Cheers
Phone had 20-30 min uptime before tests, no task killing-
Quadrant: 1877
neocore: 58.3
AnTuTu: 4421
Nice!
I task killed everything before running mine after a restart.
I like the phone a lot. It'll do me good til the SGSII

This might be a little counter intuitive but if you're killing apps that are set to run as a service they will simply restart themselves and waste CPU cycles starting up when if you didn't touch them at all they'd be closer to idle.
Guess mine is running a little behind, but these were run consecutively after about 3 hours uptime with no tasks killed or anything, and I'd say I'm still really happy with the results!
Quadrant: 1845
neocore: 58.8
AnTuTu: 4391
Looks like SD read/write hurt me a lot, and I have a PNY 16GB card, maybe if I switched back to the stock card I could bump the results...
What are you getting in Linpack multithread mode?

It's consistently between 58 and 68 for me.
Right now staring at a result that says 67.118
My MT4G Slide benchmark data.
AnTuTu: 4513
Linpack: 50 (52, 53, 55 but most consistenly @ 50)
NeoCore: 60.6
Quadrant: 1941
Smartbench 2011: Productivity - 2679/ Games - 1710
Huh, now plugged in and consistently getting 66-70 with linpack. Was getting 45-50 with low batt. Had power saver stuff off but phone must have been doing something with low power.
HTC Doubleshot
Try looking in settings -> about phone -> tell htc.... and turn off "tell htc" and "report usage to htc"...
I don't care what anyone says, but I noticed a difference in smoothness
...as I did with my former sensation.

holy smokes, that made a HUGE difference for me... I have always been an AOSP guy so I'm still getting used to this sense stuff. nice tip.
Yeah, seems to have helped me too, phone feels a lot snappier! After a full day of use and yellow battery, I got:
Quadrant: 1859
neocore: 58.1
Linpack 74.7 (Multi-thread)
AnTuTu: 4431
Hi as it states the FPS seems to be capped at 62 using quadrant, I was wondering if anyone knew where i could turn the fps limit off?
I believe its capping my true Quadrant score as when its doing 3d benchmarks it stays flat at 62...
yes would be nice ,... on evo 3d they managed something like disabling v-sync
wonder if this would possible for sensation
Correct me if I'm wrong, but some other phones are also capped at 60 fps. That's because the screen is 60 Hz and there would be no point increasing fps
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
But if that really is the case than my Computer monitor only supports 72hz max.I get over 300fps on Counter-strike:Source, In theory i can only get 72fps but i dont.I get over 400% more
I`m running zeus 5.2,everything is good.thank you dman!
but i notice some questions:
If you choose the governor ondemond, there is olny 50fps in game or neocore test,it is a little bit lag.But high cpu and IO score in quadrant(3300)
then you change the governor to perfrmence or conservative or interactiveX
you`ll get 56fps in game and neocore, the game runs quite good, but cpu and io score is lower in quadrant ( 2100 point)
I wonder what`s wrong with this problem? It someting wrong thunderbolt or kernel ?
thank you for your help.
neocore and quadrant are a joke. besides that kernel is no longer supported as all the old kernel devs left and there hasnt been any new source code to build from.
file system scores on quadrant are laughable, infact dont pay any attention to quadrant if you can help it, miui and a tweaks script can get you near 5000, that doesnt mean you increased capabilities by 5 times over stock.
if you want a file system benchmark then i dont know what to tell you, i dont know of any good ones. if you want a cpu benchmark then use chainfire bench. if you want a gpu bechmark use one that can actually bog down the gpu. neocore isnt enough of a challenge for anything with a modern gpu, thats for old snapdragon phones (nexus 1, incredible, evo....) or low level phone. the kernel limits the fps to about 56 fps, the reason the different governors show lower is that the thresholds and logic is different so it doesnt step you up as aggresively. being 6 fps off the cap doesnt show a deficientcy nessessarily, it might just be some lag in the step up or a high threshold for step up. or there may be a slight issue with that governor on that kernel.
Dani,thank you for your answer
I`m totally agree what you said that neocore and quadrant are a joke ^0^
I dont care the score but because i`m a noob,so I was curious with some something strange.
you could feel the different between 50fps with 56fps in some games, such as Dungeon hunter2 or bcakstab HD,but not in doodle jump :)
maybe those kernel is no longer supported, and problems will not be solved,so I only hope that some new kernels come out soon .LoL
Hey guys,
i just got my LG G Flex 2 here in germany for christmas and im very happy with it
But there is 1 but important (for me) problem.
It only uses 6 out of 8 cores and the max clock is ONLY 1.6 GHz...
in Antutu im even behind the LG G4 with that "SLOWER HEXACORE" ...
Can someone help me and tell me how to get rid of those 2 problems and get 2 GHz for the Big Cores?
Also, how to easily root my german H955 with Android 5.1.1 ?
Thanks for answers and help
Edit: I got "V15-c-EUR-XX"
Edit2: GPU runs 600 MHz max instead of 650 MHz ...what did they do with my phone
Edit3: I already checked temps, before you ask. 35-40°C max.... i dont think it should throttle at that low temperature.
Okay, now, on the next day it shows up to 1950 MHz for those 4 cores.
Seems to be a temperature problem at only 35 °C ...
Whats the easiest method for rooting the flex 2 (V15-c-EUR-XX) ?
I am not sure if for this phone is the same, but sometimes if u have low battery the kernel switch some core off.
Its normal, sometimes it underclocks the CPU and not always is phone running on 8 cores.... And what about GPU? Well,i have same distribution (DEU) and max is 600 MHz,but currently i have it on 305 MHz. Personally,i never saw higher clock of the GPU,and i own this device for almost month.
Edit: the GPU underclock may be caused by Energy saving mode. However, this has no impact on CPU,CPU-Z shows 1,96 GHz even in Energy saving mode. I had same problems too,CPU-Z showed 1,56 GHz maximum, after restart 1,96 GHz max.
Thanks for the responses. One last question. Why do i get only 60k in Antutu where others get 75k+ without fridge or such?

Well. about an hour ago i ran Antutu test and got 68 000 points. However,it was much worse before (first antutu test had 48 000 points and i was shocked). There are many things that can influence the score. For example-power saving mode, current RAM status (how many apps you got in background),battery percentage and temperature. Maybe best time for test is cold start, when you jump right to Antutu after start (of course not right after, phone needs some time),because you have lowest temperature, highest free RAM and no background apps. If i did such test, i would score more points i think. And last thing-the performance drops significantly when you do many tests in in a row (i mean 1st test and then in about 10 secs other one)

Yeah my performance also seems to increase over time. Weird.
And yes this soc throttles easily. But it doesnt get as hot as my nexus 5 was sometimes with benchmarks and is still faster when throttled. Would not call this processor a fail at all.
Still hoping that the SD820 will be better in thermals though. But this chip is still more than what I need.
How is the battery life when it runs on lower clock speed?
Can someone please use the phone with underclocked cpu (1.6 or 1.8GHz) for some days and post the experience on battery, temperature and phone responsiveness? Thanks.
Battery life is not improved when the phone runs in 1.6 GHz mode. I usually get about 3 h screen on time. The phone heats up a lot under load. I never saw my phone using the full potential with this Snapdragon 810 CPU. It always runs at 1.6 GHz and that seems to be fixed by the ROM on mine.
I compared between two apps and got very different results.
When i start Geekbench it instantly goes to the maximum clocks on any CPU and GPU core. (3.2ghz on Core 7, others also close to that value)
When i run a gamecube game in Dolphin, or a PS2 game in AetherSX2 it hovers around 1000mhz cpu (rarely goes to 1800mhz for a second) and gpu at 300mhz in dolphin, 400mhz for Aethersx2.
Wind Waker widescreen struggles constantly at 720p. Emulation performance is extremely bad.
What is going on here and why is the performance outside of benchmarks not even a third of what a Snapdragon 870 should do when temps are barely over 30 Degrees Centigrade?
