when i hook up my HTC DHD to my car stereo its not that loud, when i hook up my friends iphone its soo loud that I'm scared to go max on the volume. Why is this?....and no his music was not better quality it was the same mp3 file
It's got nothing to do with quality, and not even necessarily the software player either. Hardware and kernal will be the factors that most affect the output.
If there isn't one already, somebody will eventually create a Kernal with audio boost included. Keep a watchful eye on the DHD specific forum, dev section.
I have the same problem with an Xperia X10 Mini.
when plugging in the phone in the home stereo, for Spotify(using the Spotify Client/player) or MP3s (Using the paid version of PowerAMP)
I find the volume way to low, even worser when going thru Bluetooth having the Samsung SBH650 BT stereo headset plugged in the amplifier.
There are probably a Service menu where the max sound level is set, but locked, coded and encrypted, so we don't fiddle with the phone and breaking both the phone and the amplifier (also our hearing )
Big brothers decision
Really? When I plug my DHD into car stereo I never go up to full, not even close. It definitely loud enough, but the max volume could be higher all around the phone. Calls seem a bit quiet. I guess we just have to wait until someone creates something or HTC fix it.
Try PowerAmp. Some reports that it increases the volume.

Hi,
Following of these media players are excellent for “HTC DHD”. It can boost the mp3 format volume.
- Pocket Player 4.1
- PowerAmp
I suppose one option would be to use mp3gain to raise the levels of your mp3 collection in one fell swoop. This will have the added advantage of normalising the volume so that you don't have quiet songs followed by loud ones, etc

where do i get this mp3gain ? and how does it work ? thanks for everyone helping me so far
http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/
Just add your music folder, set to 92db to start with, run 'analysis' and then 'gain'.
See how you get on with that level and raise it if necessary.
I also noticed this, Especially with power amp.
like the ap.
has anyone found a successful way to boost volume ? seems a bit quiet on headphones as well as speakers.
i know my dad bought a cheap mp3 player and there was a software limit to headphones due to EU regulations !? is anyone in the US finding the volume low ?
Ive been using Equalizer app and its pretty good. But since 3.1 I'm getting alot of fc. Also if I am running playerpro I can't enable Equalizer. I need tofc playerpro first and then launch Equalizer in order for it to work. Even with Equalizer the speakers sucks. Hopefully there's a fix soon with the right and left speakers
My volume goes to 11 on my US Transformer. If you turn it all the way up the speakers are distorting so bad I thought they we going to pop. Definitely overdriving them.

lol..... movie buff maybe ?
seriously though my dads mp3 player was limited to a specific volume on UK settings. he changed to US and the volume significantly increased.....
We get all sorts of strange 'directives' from the EU..... including rules on banana curves !
www.itpro.co.uk/615685/rnid-welcomes-eu-mp3-volume-standards
US transformer and the volume was too low with my crappy over the ear headphones, but was louder with a borrowed pair of the standard iphone headphones (in-ear) ... still could have used more volume though. This was while on an airplane so it was a noisy environment.
I am using "audio+ (volume boost)" works wonders
Do any of these apps allow you to change the balance on left/right speaker? I'm looking for something that will let me play a video file with only the left speaker or only the right speaker. Anyone know of anything?
Hello, I watch films etc quite alot on the transformer but I find some files they have quite low volumes, is there a way to boost and/or improve quality of speaker volume?
Voodoo is only for headphones, poweramp have an eq setting specifically for speakers making them slightly tinnier but much louder, this however is only for audio.
Thanks for reading, any input to the matter would be great!

I bought a couple of X-Mini II speakers from amazon at 15 each and that's more volume than i need, do that and you wont regret it...
I need a boost for the microphone, it's really crappy... when i use a htc headset it works great but if i use the builtin people hear me low.. skype or whatever...
The free app called equalizer will boost volume. Just crank everything to Max. will increase by 200 or 300%.
I had seen on this forum about this. It may be the exact thing goodintentions is talking about
Volume+ is one I have used. Can boost on all outputs I use.
Is there a maximum safe voltage that can be applied to the speakers? Don't wanna blow them out..
Anyone else is struggling with SUPER LOW headphones volume? Before OP6 I had HTC One M8 which was LITERALLY 3 times louder. I am using SoundMagic E10c(cable, jack) and I am wondering if similiar problem exists for BT headphones. Need some way to have music with decent volume, since I am listening to music basically all the time.
Any way to fix this?
That's true. I hope that there will be a Sound mod in the future

The same problem doesn't exists in case of BT headphones for sure... Its just bad with wired one's, really underwhelming! Waiting for some good audio mod to maybe help fix that issue if possible.

My earphone volume is fine. Using non standard music player/ equaliser and good bearphones
I don't know why people say it's quiet on headphones I've 3.5 jack. I use bullets V2 from OnePlus and the volume and quality are fine.

I haven't noticed a difference in the sound over my LG HBS850 (Bluetooth), and I haven't tried my 3.5mm cable headphones yet.
I have OP6. After reading the complaints here checked with different brands of earphones. The sound is really loud and clear. Even at medium levels I have sufficient loudness. Equalizer too works well. I checked the earphone audio in Player Pro music player, Saavan streaming music and YouTube. I am very much happy with what I hear in terms of loudness and fidelity. I don't think the mentioned complaint is true universally.

I experienced the volume loss as well. When using the phone in my car I have to adjust the radio by almost 10 ticks (from volume 18-20 to up to 30 now).
Yesterday in my car with the oneplus 3 no problems, but the 6 has some very low volume settings. It's kinda frustrating at this point, the volume sucks and the quality doesn't match up to what the oneplus 3 could produce. I think it has something to do with the equalizer that oneplus 6 now offers. This morning while trying to adjust the settings I've downloaded the snapdragon equalizer on top of the baked in equalizer and that seems to kinda do the trick (boosts the volume by a bit).
Oh boy, same here. Using a pair of M50x's, they don't need much power to get going but I've noticed it's not as loud as my 3. I have a fiio K1 amp but didn't work on the 3, figured it might! work on the 6 but nope! so I guess I'm stuck using a amp with the headphone jack.
Oneplus really needs to improve their audio output power, that's for sure.
So I just noticed something. Music is actually fine and loud ONLY when i am choosing ringtone. Spotify/Google Play/VLC etc. all is silent, even after installing Viper4Android it's still to silent.
I agree, the volume of the headphone jack is very low and the overall sound quality is bad. My HTC one A9 is brilliant when using audio files from the jack. It's loud and clean but the OP6 is too low and very bad sounding. Not for audiophiles. I tried with Viper and it's the same.
I felt low volume intially , but after 5.1.8 update I think the volume is good. (May be its just my feel ?)
I tried with ATH M50x and samsung stock earphone.
With the filo e7K the sound quality is good enough ...

I have cheapo ear buds with 16 ohm impedance, just like yours. Anything above 80% volume is uncomfortably loud. Perhaps your unit is defective?
chiming in, no issue here, brand new, white OP6... I'm smitten
for me volume too low even with viper4android
Massively loud with black player, amp and good bass earphones, even the speaker is much louder than my HTC 10
Give ElementalX kernel a try, I've flashed it and boosted my amp output. It helps! with viper4android I don't really need an external amp anymore. But.. it's still better

Same here until i have changed the headphones value (Rx1 and Rx2 mix digital volume) on the "mixer path tavil.xml" file located here : Root/vendor/etc
90 is perfect and you will see a huge difference ! Try and let me know. If you prefere i Can also send you my customised file ?
Don't what y'all talking about, the sound over the headphone jack is so loud to the point I set it only at 60-70%... And the quality is great too, Had a nexus 6p and LG G5 before this one.. but i tried a lot of phones
This one is really loud with great quality overall

Probably because you're leaving outside Europe and not aware of the EU Volume limitation...
Today I've bought Sony MDR WF-XB700's and sound quality is great but I feel like the maximum volume is too low for me, I listen to music loudly and these I think are normal for most of the people but I feel like bass could punch a lot harder but I just can't turn up the volume that high. I've tried the disable absolute volume for bluetooth and tried increasing the gain from viper4android (rooted) but it just clips the sound, I'm looking for anything even rooted solutions, thanks. Phone is LG G7.
Really is this problem that bad that no one knows how to solve? I'll end up returning them in the last it seems like.
