Hi all,
isn't there a mailing list, forum, group, whatever dedicated to Android Security?
Diggin' thru the intarwebs all I found was http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/faq/security.html, which is kinda embarrasing because they say:
"We will publicly announce security bugs when the fixes are available
via postings to the android-security-announce group on Google Groups."
Yeah, but that group doesn't contain any posts.
I'm sure there is some place for information like this, isn't it?
Can someone please point me to a mailing list, group, whatever?
Thank you bigtime
Marty

First off, hello. Next, this is the thread about #AndroidChat, please take the time to read this.
I know there are a lot of IRC chats and such but this is a Twitter chat, and why not...
So I have noticed that there are a lot of good Twitter chats that happen and are listed here.
I also noticed that Android doesn't have a chat for itself.
It does now.
#AndroidChat is the hashtag for it.
It will happen on Wednesday of each week at 8 or 9PM EST and run until at least 10PM.
The time and day are up for debate.
Whether you are an new Android user, a seasoned developer for Android, ROM chef or anything in between; this is the place to be if you want to talk about Android.
Below this you can read all about Twitter chats and such as some background information.
I hope to see you there!
What is a Twitter chat?
Twitter chats are scheduled gatherings of people on Twitter to discuss pretty much anything that interests them, using a #hashtag to keep track of the conversation. There are chats for everything from blogging to art to agriculture to operating systems. - Partially/Mostly from Mashable.
How to take part?
I recommend you using TweetChat, it is a service that allows you to view and tweet with your chosen Twitter chat from there. It will also automatically add the hashtag at the end so you don't forget to either.
Basically, it is a service that just makes it really easy to participate in Twitter chats.
But you are free to even do a search on Twitter's website for it and follow it there to.
When do they happen?
Refer to the first link posted in this thread.
Also, I will likely be getting in touch with some influential Android users in this community to help get it started.
If you have any other questions, you can tweet at me or post your question regarding this here.
Thanks,
Lawrence (TheVakman)
P.S. I hope this is the right section. I wanted it in Android but I couldn't find a general Android.
Hi everyone out there!
My name is Fredrik and I have decided to create a group called "[Barcode]".
I don't really know why, but I think that this new group can spread new ideas and create new posts with eachother, if some would decide to join.
I think it could be critical to create groups on XDA, because we can build barriers and maintain (hopefully) a high standard and get well recognized by our name.
This is just a project, and I hope that some competence would be available out here!
Everyone is welcome!
I searching people with skills that could maybe create different posts that could help people or maybe provide them with something new. Both would be perfect!
Anyone want to join?
Contact me if interested, or leave a comment
I'm using Viber with a BlackBerry right now but tomorrow I will get my iPhone and I have messages there that I want to save and transfer to my new phone. Is that possible? And if it is.. How do I do it? Because I know that as soon as I set my number on my new device, I will lose all my messages and I don't want to do that. I have some important ones there so I really hope there is a way I can transfer them from my BlackBerry into my iPhone.
Thank you all for your support.
Hi,
This is an official representative of Viber Media.
Unfortunately this option is not available We plan to add it in the future, but we are not sure yet when it will be ready. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Best regards,
the Viber Team.
What is expected for release this functionality in the software?
We are not sure yet.
Meanwhile, we invite you to enter our Feature Request page and post your suggestion there, or join an existing similar suggestion. The more people join on a request, the faster it will become reality

I'm trying to make an Android app that would allow users to submit stories. And when they submit it, then all other users who have the app should be able to view the new stories. And so with each new story that's submitted, all users should be able to see an updated list of stories. But I'm not really sure how to push these changes to all users once someone submits a story.
I guess as a reference, this would be most similar to apps like FML or even facebook in the sense that someone posts something and everyone should be able to see it.
Any help would be appreciated! And I'm willing to clarify anything!
