Ive searched for 2 days to find a way, or program that will let me sync my Windows Live/Hotmail Calendar to my Excalibur.
Someone please tell me this is possible, preferably over the air with the windows live client on the phone. But if not, activesync or anything else will do. I also dont want to have to install Outlook on my PC.
Anyone know a way?....Cmon...I know youre out there
Really? No One? Anyone????
All I can do for you is tell you I'm in the same boat. I've signe up for officelive.com, got my domain hosted by live services However, every day I switch my hosting back and for from Live to Google Apps. I prefer the Live interface 100%. However, I can get near 100% functionality from Google services...
FYI, For Google I use Emoze for e-mail, and Goosync for calendar/contacts (to sync more than 30 days of calendar and contacs costs for Goosync about $40 US/year) I already paid this when I had a Symbian phone.
When using Live, I use Windows Live Mobile for e-mail/contacts... I have no solution for Live Calendar.

thx for ur infomation.. but my medkid ROM doesnt include windows live for me.. luckily still found on XDA forum.. officelive.com really a good website.. thx..
I am in the same boat. I use Live Services (Gmail sucks...) and I like the free push email.
The only thing I was missing was a OTA syncable calendar. So I just use the Google Calendar by itself, and use the free version of OggSync to sync with my phone.
The Live Calendar API is coming...it's just a matter of when, but it's been a looong time.

Liveside.net reported in February that a connector for Outlook would enable synchronisation between Live Calendar and Outlook. I have been patiently waiting for it, assuming ActiveSync would then sync my Outlook calendar to my phone too.
Hopefully one day Live Calendar could sync over the air using the Windows Live Mobile software. I'm not gonna hold my breath though.
Maybe Live Mesh could put this into action sooner. I'm keeping an eye out for the mobile client software, but would expect Calendar sync anytime soon.
It's truly a shame that three versions of a calendar system from the same company are not easily interoperable.
I have the outlook connector now. IT supports Mail, Contacts and Calendar syncing to Outlook.
1. I want OTA sync
2. The calendar is only syncing for users willing to upgrade their live account to and MSN Premium ($9.95/month) and I'm simply not willing to pay that. If I'm paying that much, I can go do 123together.com and get true exchange.

Well all I know is that when a solution happens, it will happen here first on XDA
Are their any Solutions yet?
This is what I got so far:
1. Using Windows Live Calendar with my company mates
2. I can sync that calendar with Outlook withou any extra costs...
3. But I can set ActiveSync to sync with that Calendar...
Active Sync only syncs my "Calendar" not my "Company Calendar"...
solutions...?
Hy,
any news for the problem?
i'm still looking for a way to use activesync with live calendar (like gmail).

Urg...this is harder than it should be. Can anyone in the same situation offer any advice?
Situation is this...
* HTC Touch Pro
* Google Apps Mail/Calendar/Tasks
* Lotus Notes w/Notes Traveler
* Other sync apps like Spb Wallet
* Windows XP
I initially had my phone syncing with ActiveSync to my laptop as a backup (contacts etc going to Outlook) and so I could sync things like my password data using Spb Wallet
Coming from Palm devices, I wasn't quite prepared for how crap ActiveSync (or Outlook) actually was. I then changed my mail to sync with Google (using IMAP) and then Contacts and Calendar syncing with Google via their fake Outlook sync setup, and that works pretty well.
Note: Now Google have push email, but I haven't tried it, and my Spb Wallet on my phone and PC are now out of sync
Today I tried Notes Traveler, which syncs my work info over-the-air, kind of like a Blackberry.
This works (I guess) but Lotus' idea of "Sync" seems to be "Nuke everything on your device and overwrite it with your Notes data"
...yep, I did back everything up...
Issues/Questions:
1) Is there any way to get rid of the default "Outlook" mail account in TouchPro 3d? Strangely I did a backup and restore when my phone went in for repair, and now it is called my domain name and has some old mail in it, but it's still not deletable
2) Notes Traveler creates a second (third!) mail account, so my work email is separate (which is great) but it nuked my calendar. Then it nuked my Google calendar, and uploaded all my work appointments to it! To make matters worse, even though mail is separate, meeting invites and responses now get sent back to my personal Google mailbox (since there is only one calendar I guess)
3) Since I'm busy/lazy at work, my work email has 554 unread messages (from the last 30 days), and it fills up at a rate of a couple of hundred a day. This means that the notification circle thingo on the front of the phone is in a permanent state of flashyness. Is there any way I can disable that for mail, and just have it alert me for SMSs etc?
4) Has anyone come up with a good solution for two different types of mail? The only option I can really think of is turning off the Google sync (maybe except for Contacts) and using the web apps...but that seems clunky and no TouchFlow 3D integration. There isn't a native WM6 app for the Google suite is there? Or for Notes? Also the screenshots on the Google help web pages seem much more usable than the screens I actually get (there are tabs across the top to switch between mail, cal etc.)
5) I really use the multi calendar feature of Google a lot, is there any way you can sync more than one calendar to the device?
6) Does anyone know if Android manages this scenario better? I'm almost ready to switch (except that no Notes Traveler for Android)
Thanks in advance for any pointers on any of the items above.
Zilch.
To delete the account you go into Activesync on the phone, then go to Menu...Options...now click and hold on the exchange server to delete it.
You can go to Settings, sounds Notifications to turn off the flashing notification. Otherwise you may need fuze tweak or advanced config.
I'm frustrated with the Samsung Galaxy S' calendar. My important appointments make a little low *bip* sound and that's about it. I tried to use Calendar Snooze, but I can't get it to work. Apparently you should be able to select snooze option from the Calendar app but it doesn't work because no such option is available on my phone. Changing the sounds in the phone settings makes no difference. Any ultra mega hacker who knows how to take control over the calendar notifications?
yes, this is a bug or not but a very tiresome. i need this knowledge too how can i change.
Mine uses the default notification sound.
Menu-> Settings -> Sound & Display -> Notification ringtone, pick one.
I take that back. I used Calendar Notifier from Market to solve that specifically without rooting. You could also root and replace the TouchWiz calendar with the Android stock calendar.apk. the instructions, etc are here
when syncing with exchange, docs attached to meeting notices don't show up as downloadable like they do in email. Anyone know of a way around this or a Calendar alternative that does recoginize attachements embedded in calendar appointments?
nobody can share any insight on this?
since nobody responded to my question, just wanted to update and say that as of now the only work around i've found is to download the attachment(s) while the meeting notice is still an email (i.e. before you accept it so its added to your calendar). If anyone has a suggestion for a better way of handling embedded docs in calendar appointments, i'm all ears. Thanks.

Hi, on my business laptop with MS Windows and Outlook 2010 I use a tool named "Google Calendar Sync" to synchronize Outlook calender with my Google calender. Just search on Google for "Getting started with Google Calendar Sync".
Another way to get Outlook stuff synchronized with your Galaxy S is to use your Exchange account. But I don't want to use exchange on my Galaxy S because of battery drain. So this tool is a good compromise ;-)
Hi, here are my two cents: I'm using Touchdown for syncing my company MS Exchange account. It does download the meeting attachments when viewing mails/meeting notes, so this might help you out.
It is quite expensive (around 14 euro) but it is by far better than the stock exchange app and the support is perfect when mailing them. The other plus is that you can set whether you want to pull or push at certain times.
Having said that there are some downsides as well: the UI is (mildly said) very basic and its calendar looks like the programs from the 80s (but there are a few market calendar apps which one can use to view the meetings list)
Hmm.. I agree that this sounds pretty much like spamming but cross my heart: I'm just a happy Touchdown user (using some other apps as well to make my daily life organized) sharing my experience.
I hope that this answer your help call.
Cheers,
Rocky

Hey
Is there any app out there wich could sync all PIM-Data like SMS,Contacts etc. to Android? I'd love an app that does this since I've got Android on my HD2?
If there isn't any software, I'll try to develop some on my own, but first I need to know a few things:
- how do get the messages (Mail and SMS) in WinMo (.net cf)
- and how to restore them??
- how to register an app to run before shutdown and as startup on android?
Thanks
Chabun
Did you try to use MyPhoneExplorer for syncing Outlook contacts to your Android ?
Hi,
I've search alot around to do that, tryed ogg synch and other stuff,
but now I've found that this way to synch android and winmo is the best (for me):
don't use outlook anymore on my pc instead I've created a gmail accound and use calendar , contact... exactly like on outlook but online.
On htc winmo I've made an activesync account with google server (m.google.com) and synch everything exept tasks.
And on htc Andro synch with google account.
Everyhing works ...

How can you possibly hope to use Android fully without a data plan
Google Sync will do just this !
Yes, i just stumbled onto this:
http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
I just set up my active sync with m.google.com (follow the instructions, old, but still work) on my Window mobile, did one sync for everything except my email.
That part of it OK, i reboot to Android (MCCM Desire HD), synch my stuff there (using this same gmail address) and yes, all my contacts show up, contacts with multiple numbers, pictures (girls!) included, wow, just wow...
Give it i try, i'll go see if it actually synchs the calendar, my messages from winmo do not show up though.
Edit: sorry, i guess aegidios2 beat me to it, well here are the instructions, if you have no data plan, surely you can sync using Wifi ?
Update: Yes, i tested, it also syncs the calendar back from Android to WinMo, then Outlook pops op on my computer, informing me about the appointment i put in the calendar, wow, i am hooked !

I can do that, yes, but I want to be able to switch between them at any time - even if I'm not at home and no free wlan net is in reach!

Since there were only f****** expensive offers when I bought my hd2....
So I'm currently trying to develope an app for that, but I'm stuck on creating sms on WinMo (I tried the InTheHandSDK, but on my HD2 (latest Artemis ROM with WM 6.5.3) it crashes and in the emulator it fails to store the body of the sms). Does anyone know how to do that??
So I think there's no app which can handle that...
Now I'm wondering if anybody else would like to have such an app?
And I have still the problems with reading/restoring sms (on winmo), anyone who could help me?
Did you try mIQ, search for it on google
Only downside is you can sync only one device
I use Google Calendar Sync and Contacts Sync.
Done completely offline via your home PC. Works flawlessly as long as you have Outlook on your home PC.

Hey guys,
my conclusion to this thread is, there's no (portable) alternitive way of syncing with your 3g-network, if there's no app.
And that's the point, imagine you're on the beach abroad with your phone in your palm but currently winmo is running. So you start android and after a few seconds (SuperRAM is awsome) - f**** the sms from your GF/BF is not there...
Noway to sync with the net if you aren't a millionaire (roaming is s....).
And that's why I need an app, so I started to develop. I alreadey managed to get ceampi succesfully working. My winmo client is nearly finished. Now I need some android gurus to help me.
So anyone interested outthere willing to help? I need to know how to read all mesages stored in the folders (inbox, drafts etc.) and how to create new messages which are stored there as well.
Thanks
Hey All,
Is there and Android native app that syncs your exchange calendar with your google calendar...
Like Moxier, Touchdown, etc. are all fine, but they have their own calendars - I just want one calendar with everything (in this case, my google calendar)...
Yeah, I know there are desktop apps, but these are useless if you're on the road for weeks and only carrying your beloved Android phone...
Thanks!
Thought I'd answer my own question since no one else could... That way, if anyone else wants an answer to the same question, here it is...
Yes - 2.2 gives you exchange calendar sync, so all your appointments appear on the one android calendar. Nice - no need for Moxier, Touchdown or anything, and I only have to look at one calendar to find out my schedule, not 3...
