rogue traders is the program
I've just watched a recorded show and coudn't pick up the URL but on the handset it was just a web based service.
Could be something like the products from http://www.verilocation.co.uk
David.
he edit'd the post saying
"rogue traders is the program"
Yes he asked what satellite tracking system they were using ON Rogue Traders
Rogue Traders is a TV Programme, not software Program.
aaahh dident know that
they were sticking small transmiters in rubbish, and tracking it being illegally flytiped, worked spot on, just got me thinking about fitting a transmit to my car, and tracking it, if it ever goes missing!
In that case, then how about http://www.verilocation.co.uk/vl_trimtrac.aspx

'Come to Crash It' Challenge

Wednesday my school is having a "'Come to Crash It' Challenge"
"Those with an iPhone or iPod are invited to the “Come to Crash It!” challenge — the ultimate test of the UCO wireless network — at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in Constitution Hall, Nigh University Center.
The first 250 people — with iDevices — will get a free donut.
Come and try to crash the system, all with Information Technology's approval!"
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas... Does anyone know of any multicasting applications that might do the trick? I was thinking of something like finding some imaging (cloning) software and doing a multicast of an image file...
Thoughts?
Upload some ROMS, that's always a bandwidth killer.

Torrent a 100gig file
Yeah, I am having a friend use his iphone to download some torrents with a bunch connections... What's a good Win Mobile torrent application that lets me change advanced settings like amount of connections?
I really would like to do something like a multicast of a large file, but I can't seem to find any applications for win mobile that can do that.
check out Wmtorrent
That'll work if I go the torrent route, anyone else have any other ideas?
Create a ddos attack program for the iphone and get everyone to use it to crash the server

That's above my skill set, I don't know how to develop for xda much less the IPhone. I was hoping for a utility that already existed...
If this was on a laptop I know a range of utilities that would make it easy, but that is not the 'challenge'.
When using internet sharing, is there a way to share your wifi connection... or is it just your medianet or ISP GPRS that is going to be available?
I was thinking about using internet sharing to my laptop and using the phone's wifi and then that would be using my phone to meet the 'challenge' since all traffic would be routed through my phone.
Another idea would be using an application that would let me set my phone up as a proxy server?
seriously, only iDevices? they sponsored by Apple or something?
if you have a seriously good (commercial grade or better) router, or set up multiple routers in the area, the best way is to force mulitple P2P or connections... though bittorrent might be blocked, so that is one option down...

It wont be possible with just one iPhone/iPod/WinMo phone but I imagine that jailbreaked, you can do a unix script looping several threads (10, 20 or 30 or the most the CPU can take) of wget to a server of your choice... hehehehe... do that to 10iPhone/iPods and watch the server crawl to its knees
Think that you could make a program for WM like that?

[Q] Simvalley XT-930 GPS waypoints

Hi,
I am new to this forum. Although I have had a XDA (not sure if this forum relates to that smartphone of a decade ago), I am a consumer and no developer what so ever. I have not much technical knowlegde, so please bear with me if I don't get some things that are crystal clear to you guys. Also, my English is pretty poor.
My question: I have a Simvalley XT-930 dumbphone as a backup phone while travelling. It also has GPS and can get GPS coordinates. What I miss is an app on the phone to store and find back waypoints. I don't need anything fancy with maps or satellite photographs. An arrow pointing in the right direction, and the distance would be the major functionality I need. To find back that bus station, meeting point, parked car in a foreign city, etc.
The good thing is that the phone supports Java based apps. I tried VLKGPS 0.9.4, but it crashes because the Midlet is not supported.
Do you guys know an app with the functionality I am looking for and that would work on my phone?

Security threat, "man in the middle attack, UMTS"

Mass surveillance are documented whit our cell phones.
Thousands of volunteers have with their mobile phone uploaded their results to different cell tower (base station) databases.
The hack that is picked up whit our mobilphones is,
"man in the middel attack, umts"
The explanation is that GSM base stations is pretending to be an official GSM station and emits a Cell ID.
In the EU it is a human right to have telecommunications secrecy, it means that your phone calls must be encrypted.
(it is very likely also human rights in many other countries)
You will need to compar whit official database for your area.
voluntarily collect databases.:
Opencellid.org
cellmapper.net
wigle.net (blue dots)
opensignal.com
http://www.cellumap.com/
Mozilla location services.
there are many other databases.
Official cell tower database.:
Denmark.: Mastedatabasen.dk
Norway.: finnsenderen.no
Schweiz.: Funksender.ch

Netherlands.: http://www.antenneregister.nl/Html5Viewer_Antenneregister/Index.html?viewer=antenneregister
USA.: http://www.antennasearch.com/
Pleas.
Provide permalinks is there are things you don't understand, and the official database for your area and I will have a look.
Or ask a questions.
eksampel when comparing databases.:
how to compare, openopencellid.org and the official database for thr area you want to check, you will see it straight away, there is a huge difference.
or for the USA opencellid.org, wiggle.net, opensignal.com, etc.. in conjunction whit http://www.antennasearch.com/
