[Q] HTC Desire upgrade problem - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I have a HTC Desire android phone.
I have downloaded the update package.
The installation started and my device has been rebooted, but then there was an error msg. After pressing the power button I had the following:
ClockWorkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 Finding update package... E:can't mount /dev/block/mmcblck0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p1) (No such file or directory) E:can't mount SDCARD:download/OTA_Bravo_Froyo...zip Installation aborted There is a menu: -reboot system now -apply sdcard:update.zip -wipe data/factory reset -wipe cache partition -install zip from sdcard -nandroid -partitions menu -advanced
Can you please help me with this issue?
I am new to android, so please consider it ))
Thanks a lot
PAvel

What's your sd card? The class is sometimes printed on the card itself, brand and size too. Have your tried to reformat it?

I just took my Desire to the shop I bought it and the technitian made it in 15 minutes.
He didn't want to tell the trick but I guess he just installed it using application installer from the PC.

Cwm is installed buddy....
But if u read the description it doesn't work with RFS file system....
RFS is the file system in the stock ROM...
It works with any custom ROM....
CWM by TJ_Style must be flashed into the Gingerbread Roms man...
after that you can flash another custom ROM..
so what is you're trying to do back then?
yeah...

[Q] rom install via cwm

Please excuse me as I am new to this....
I have a g2x rooted, nvflashed cwm and installed EaglesBlood build 5. Each time I have installed it after booting the phone into cwm and .... please see remaining post......
clean install of egb
1) Power down phone and restart / boot into clockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
2) Select " -wipe data/factory reset -- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
Data wipe complete.
3) Select wipe cache partition -- Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache
Cache wipe complete.
4) Select -advanced
5) Select -Wipe Dalvik Cache E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Dalvik Cache wiped.
6) Select +++++Go Back+++++
7) Select -install zip from sdcard
8) Select -choose zip from sdcard
9) select -p999_6_26_12.zip
10) Select -Yes - Install p999-6-26-12.zip
Then follow the remainder of the configuration options of the install ( specifying 21y ) as an option and gaps from sd card and then run the installer. Install completes stating " Congratulations...
EaglesBlood has been installed into your devic
Installer Status:0
Can someone please tell me why I have an error " E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]" being displayed after selecting _wipe Dalvik cache. The phone then completes wiping Dalvik cache.'
As stated earlier, the program does install and apprears to run as well as egb build 4
Is there something I need to do to get this issue resolved. I have tried a different sd card as well as then formatting it with cwm and or in my computer (scanned it using win7) for errors and bad clusters, and copied files from my computer to the root on the sd card. I did root, flash CWM using nvflash, do a droid bachup prior to first installing EGB build 4. and now am at a loss as to how to remedy or repair this "unknown volume" issue on a new install.
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.
I received that error before while wiping davlik. But only once after I reboot an tried again I never got it again. Am sure you tried that just giving my experience on it
Sent from my LG-P999
Its normal for are device we don't have sd ext.... That's why it skips over and continues

So it is not dependent on baseband, kernel, rom, etc. It is just a g2x thing, and nothing to be concerned with while moding/flashing various rom's ? :good:

[Q] Problem installing Play store upgrade on Zeki 7 Tablet

I have tried several times to install the recovery file to my new Zeki 7 tablet so that I can use the Play Store apps. I have followed the instructions completely and placed the zip file into the root directory of the SD card. Every time I do this, however, the system reboots with the following message:
Android system recovery<3e>
Android system recovery utility (dlyx:vol up/vol down.enter)
Reboot system now
Apply upddate from external storage
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Apply update from cache
Finding update package…
E:unknown volume for path [/mnt/sdcard/update.zip]
E:Can’t mount [/mnt/sdcard/update.zip
Installation aborted.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Did you ever find an answer re: "installation aborted"?
Did you ever get an answer? I am setting up multiple devices for family who are giving for Christmas. 2 of 5 failed with this same error.
Thanks
