Android TV support

Hi,
This topic request is a placeholder for the newly announced Android TV that Google announced at Google I/O (June 26th 2014)
I would love MX Player to have support for Android TV in whereby I could use MX Player on future Android TV set-top box devices such as Blu-Ray players to be able to play local file content.
Be ready for Android TV if it kicks off well

If it's a Google-supported device with Play Store access, then MX is likely to support it. The real question is what sort of hardware decoding support will it have, and how powerful of a processor for software decoding?

I've tested newly announced Android TV using Android emulator. It works well so far.
Is it just me or the fire tv hardware looks so much like the development hardware for android tv? And even the cards from the settings on fire tv look much alike to the ones in android tv?
Coincidence or what is going on?

[Q] DoubleTwist AirSync and itunes

Hi,
I use ITunes on a Windows laptop together with DoubleTwist. Both computers and smartphone are on the same WIFI network and can see and pair each other.
My software versions are:
Itunes 12.0.1.26 (currently latest version available)
DoubleTwist for Windows 4.0.4.19767 (beta)
DoubleTwist for Android 2.5.5 (2e28932)
Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy S5
Windows 7 x64
I purchased AirSync to be able to stream music from ITunes (running on my computer) to my smartphone which is hooked to a Bluetooth sound system.
The problem is that when I start syncing my music, it literally copies my library to my smartphone. Having a large library of music (>100GB), copying music locally on the smartphone is not an option. I would like the music to stay on the computer and access the library from my smartphone remotely over WIFI.
The streaming process looks like:
Laptop -> Smartphone -> Bluetooth audio system
Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Christophe
Answer from DoubleTwist:
"Hello,
I'm sorry but at this time, our streaming feature require the songs to be local to the Android device. Our app is not able to act as a bridge between your computer and your sound system. This is a feature that users have requested so we're investigating it for the future roadmap.
Feedback like yours helps us to prioritize our future development plans. I've sent your comments on to our product manager.
Thanks."
Do you know any solution doing what I'm looking for by any chance?
Thanks
Christophe

Looking for Trakt-enabled media-player

Hello everyone,
long time iOS-user here that jumped ship with the new Galaxy S8. On iOS I always used "Infuse" to watch my TV-shows (MKV-files). Infuse could scrobble and sync to my Trakt.tv-account to sync my watched-status with my Plex Media Server at home.
Is there any app like this for Android?
Requirements would be MKV-compatibility and trakt-scrobbling/-syncing.

Request to port Samsung SmartThings Link app to other Android TVs.

Recently Samsung came out with the Samsung SmartThings link. This is a USB type dongle to be plugged into an NVIDIA Shield TV that functions like a Samsung SmartThings Hub. Since this is a lot cheaper than a hub and can do the same things, it is obviously a useful device (can be currently had for $10 after coupon "SHIELDLINK" on SmartThings website)
I'm sure it's limitation to the Nvidia Shield TV has nothing to do with Hardware but rather software. It works through the Samsung SmartThings link app on the Android TV. This app when side-loaded opens and says your Android TV is not supported. Is someone able to Port this over to any Android TV?
There is a post by Android Police with more details. I can't post links according to XDA so please search.
Here's the APK file on APK mirror (sorry can't post links according to XDA)
It's called SmartThings for NVIDIA SHIELD TV
