Slow Push with the new Hotmail ActiveSync. - General Topics

Anybody noticed a very slow push for the new Hotmail ActiveSync? I have set my sync settings to 'As items arrive' but it takes about 5-10 minutes after it reached my hotmail inbox to reach to my phone.
I have made some minor settings change like syncing items 1 weeks ago (default is a day I think), sync the entire message (default only 5kb).
Using an Xperia X1 with WM6.5 custom ROM.

Outlook Sync Question

Hello,
When I activsync with outlook it takes forever. All the tasks run though very quickly except on the Inbox bit which has "Updating folder hierarchy" for ages.
Any ideas on how to speed this up would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
In Activesync / options - Inbox / settings there are some things you can change so that it doesn't sync the whole message or not all the messages.
You can set it to Sync just the last 7 days for example so that if you have a large quantity of old e-mails in there, it will ignore them.
you can also set it to sync the begining of each message but not the whole thing if you tend to receive big e-mails.

Anyway to increase push email inbox retention?

I have push email hosted through 4smartphone.net
Emails I need keep dropping out of my inbox. The oldest email is from 3 days ago. Is there a way to extend the life of emails, so that they don't disappear for 2 weeks?
If I switch to a better mail program than the default WM5 messaging app, will it make a difference?
Thanks
My oldest email is from 2 months ago.
Maybe you have to change an option in ActiveSync :
Go to Menu > Options then select E-Mail under Exchange Server and go to Parameters.
You have to choice for "Include the last" (I suppose as I'm french) : All or 1 month or 2 weeks...
Mine is all.
Awesome! Thanks, that did it.
I went through activesync on my device and then email -> settings and now I've changed it from 3 days to a month.....brilliant!

POP3 accts: Its there a tweak 2 enable "connect & check for msgs" sooner than 15 mins

POP3 accts: Its there a tweak 2 enable "connect & check for msgs" sooner than 15 mins
What's up guys?
I'm trying setup my bellsouth and gmail as POP3 accts in Outlook (WM6) but noticed that unlike WM5, the most often connection setting for "connect and check for messages" its every 15mins.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a tweak or registry hack to change that and make it connect and check for messages sooner (like WM5 where you can change set it to connect as often as every 1 min)
Thanks in advance!!

This is something i would like to know too.
It doesnt seem to be a possible option (at least not for WM6).... Its just not d convinient to have Outlook check for new mail every 15mins... specially for people who rely on email messages throughout the day.
Any suggestions?
Possibly a registry change?
Doesn't seem to be any as of now.
I would be happy if I could simply send an email from my MDA since I've flashed the WM6 ROM. So far I'm receive only.

pocket outlook pullfrequency

The minimum interval for pulling mail form the server in WM6 seems to be fifteen minutes.
Is there a possibility to decrease this interval to, let's say, 1 minute?
I can't find a registry key or initiation file for this value.
I don't know if there's a registry key, but other mail applications can be changed to 1 minute or more, but...
Why not use http://live.mail2web.com or http://www.port88.org and get a free push mail account.
Uses less data than constantly checking a mail account, and you will get an email almost instantly.
Just forward your existing mail account to either of those accounts, and cinfigure your device for that.
Then you also have the advantage of all your contacts, mail, calendar events, and notes being backed up on a server.
i have some doubts about the push using less data...
for example: with push my battery will last 1 day with 5min check it will last 2 days. GPRS is always on on both cases
pushmail has already been tried, but tends to be slow compaired to the outlook 15 minute-interval.

[Q] sync interval gmail

Hi everyone,
i have an question about the sync interval of gmail.
at this moment i'm using gmail so that when there is a new mail i'll be notified, this costs a lot of batterylife thru the day.
i want for example that synch interval will be done every hour?
how will i make this happen????????????

Push notifications
I actually believe that the official gmail application for android doesn't let you configure what you're suggesting because it uses push notifications, which means it doesn't wastes battery "asking" the internet when you have a new e-mail, but the internet tells it and it appears instantly.
The only time option in this application is about how many mails do you want your phone to storage in cache, measured in days. For example, if you type 7, you'll always be able to see much quicklier the mails you received last week.
