Try resetting your wifi connection on your phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

Only using 3G and already restarted...will try again..odd

I had this issue over the weekend. I tried several things from the internet.
1. Resetting my connection, airplane mode, etc.
2. Unmounting/remounting the internal SD card.
3. Clearing the Market Cache
The final thing that made it work was rebooting the phone. I don't know if any of those other things helped, but that was the final step.

Rebooting the phone should fix it.

Did it and nothing...I guess Im going to remove the battery too.

Not good...this happened after I had to boot twice as the phone got stuck during boot fir the first time ever and when I opened Market I had to accept the agreement but everything else was normal.

Op, are you completely stock?
And I'm assuming that by "nothing" you mean you have tried multiple apps
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

Nope I am not stock per se :
SuperRooter + lagfix ext2.3 + OCed 1.2Ghz
This just happened this morning after that odd issue rebooting the phone where it got stuck on the galaxy S image then on next boot I had to accept some agreement for the Market place.
Still no solution for this..

Could be....I am thinking that forced reboot I did could be the issue here. I also noticed that all my ringtones have been reset to defaults. Good thing I did a recent back up with ClockworkMod thingy although I not clear yet on how to restore it lol

Do you have titanium backup?

Yes I do have Titanium...probably done 2 days before this happened.

Did a restore back up with the ROM Manager clockworkmod and it seems to be all good now.

Have you tried using that backup and restoring app+data?

I know I was rooted, but now it says I'm not?

So I know I WAS rooted at one point, up until about a week ago. Then all of a sudden a few days ago I went to flash the latest CM6 nightly, and opened up TitaniumBackup to make sure I had everything backed up. It said that it didn't have root access. I rooted back on 1.5 or 1.6, using Fresh's 1-click method. Will that still work even though I'm running a Froyo ROM now? Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find anything searching. I can still boot to recovery, and flash ROMs, but the apps that require root access (TitaniumBackup, drocap2, Superuser, wifi tether) say they can't gain root access. I did flash a file suggested by impaler to try to fix issues with adding SU permissions, and it seems that this issue started about that time.
I can't install the Android SDK (no internet access besides my phone, and that doesn't want to play nice with the servers for some reason), so I should specify that this should be non-ADB if possible.

Universal AndRoot. Check it out. http://bit.ly/aa4jxJ
Unfortunately, that didn't work. Titanium still says it can't acquire root. I tried both options, and both times it said failed.
I had that happen once and when I checked Superuser TB was "denied". I "allowed" it in Super User and it worked.

Will give this a shot later tonight once my phone charges. I hate how it takes so long to charge via USB.
I took this screenshot on the xda app one day way back when I had the same problem you did. I asked for help and this guy got it for me.

Alternative to titanium backup

Is there an alternative to TiBu that will allow me to backup all my apps and data without having to select "install" and "done" for every app? I just want to have it install all my apps and not botherme with the permissions and what not, just do it.
Thanks
Jerry
P.S. or am I doing something wrong?
If you purchase the pro version it will fo just that.
No more being prompted to install every app

Super Manager is free from the market and you can enable silent installs on restores I believe.

Have you ever used it to restore system data? What about after flashing to a different ROM? Backing up system data with TiBu is only useful if you are restoring to the same ROM version, otherwise you get force closes that will require a reflash. I'd like something that lets me restore system data across any ROM even if it is only my contacts, BT pairings, e-mail accounts and wifi settings. That's the stuff I hate having to redo every time I flash a ROM.

Installing apps via titanium back up update.zip

So I decided to try this new feature of TiBu and flashed the update.zip in recovery after I flashed a new rom. The problem is that Google also downloads missing apps even ones I deleted a long time ago and are also not in the backup zip file I made in TiBu. Is there anyway to disable Google from doing this?
This is after wiping and flashing a new rom and doing the set up wizard. Asked to link my Google /gmail account to the phone so i would assume if I skipped that step it would cause an issue?
Thanks.

It shouldn't cause any sort of issue. I have done it before without any sort of issue. You can link the google/Gmail account to your phone at a later time, like after you flash that update.zip. I advise that you make an update.zip of only user apps. I find that a lot of the problems that people have are caused by restoring apps and data. I find that it's ok to restore the data of games though

When you first setup your phone Google asks do you want to backup your settings online and then asks do you want it to restore your data (wifi settings, apps, etc). You have chosen yes to both. Go into your settings and then "backup and reset". Unchecked backup my data and automatic restore. Never use them again. They are worthless if you are rooted

Do you have another android device with those options chosen possibly? I've only had it do that to me when those options are checked off. And it would even download apps I had on my other devices that I never put on the current one. Got annoying. Fast. I just turned it off on all devices.

"unfortunately, settings has stopped"

Hello all,
I just tried to make my Nexus 5 read NFC while on the locked screen using this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/mod-modified-nfcnci-apk-to-poll-screen-t2391170/page3
Apart from it not working (rooted, read/write, permissions set, etc....) I now get the following error mesage when I try to onter the setting on my Nexus.
"unfortunately, settings has stopped"
Placed back the original 'NfcNci.apk' and 'NfcNci.odex' files with no result.
I did a lot of searching, but cannot find a solution.
I hope anyone can help my out here.
Thanks in advance !!!!!
Don't suppose you made a nandroid before installing the apk. You could just restore it if you did. OtherWise you might have to flash the system.img from the factory image in fastboot

Deleted the content in com.android.nfc. No luck.
Dalvik is new to me.
What I discovered is that the 'NfcNci.apk' looks different after replacing it.
It first looked like a bluetooth logo (the backup on sd still does). But after copying it to 'system/app' it looks like an android robot coming out of a blue box with APK written on it.
When I trie to run the 'NfcNci.apk' it gives me a parse error.

Delete both the .apk and .odex, along with data folder then reboot to recovery, clear cache and Dalvik, boot into android and put the backed up files back into /system/app with correct permissions and reboot again. If it doesn't work then try the other method I suggested previously, if that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you lol. Also try clearing data of Settings itself

Depends on what recovery you're using, TWRP or CWM. In CWM it should be in advanced, in TWRP tick the boxes for it in wipe. Search it up if you're not sure.
On the other hand, "Unfortunately, Lethargy is falling asleep"
Different timezones i guess
I ended up flashing and restoring the apps one by one. So far so good.......

Question S22 Ultra Beta

I opted in for the beta over the weekend and after consideration I decided not to update it since it is my daily. I unrolled from the beta, but can't seem to get the ota update to go away. Anyway how I can remove this? The update is downloaded and is asking me to install.
Try disabling these 2 apps.
That should kill. The com.ws.dm is probably the only one that needs disabled but better safe than updated

Adb edit it. Someone said that clearing the system cache would purge the download however another member said this wasn't true.
That ws app might as well be a rootkit the way it behaves, very invasive with every permission under the sun. It's the first app I disable.
