Hi all,
It was bound to happen, and now the question is how to get out of this mess. A friend and I both have the LG GT540 - and both are not working!
I ran into some trouble with mine I am having the problem that every three seconds I get the following message: ""the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".
Sometimes, I can still work around this by doing a hard reset or booting it up again. To make matters worse I can't seem to connect to the internet, as some internal process appear to be not working at all.
In turn, my friend's phone has become a brick, and does not function at all.
Therefore, the question is: how do you perform a clean install on the phone from your PC?
Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance.

I recently installed PDAViet's 4.0.0.5a ROM. I thought all was working smooth and fast until I recently tried to soft reset the device.
What happened is that the phone never booted. It was just stuck at the green Windows Mobile splash screen.
Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you solve the problem?
All help is appreciated

Just reboot the system one more time or two more times, by Soft Reset. It will always come back. There must be some 3rd party software that made some changes to the ROM. It might not be reproducible later.
I tried it to no avail.. I haven't even installed any 3rd party software. It sucks but a hard reset did the trick.. lost all my new contacts and stuff though

Don't give up. Try update once again. But remember to follow exactly each step. and it is often worthwhile to do a couple of Hard Resets before and between and after each step.
I have the same problem before, in my initial attempts in upgrading, but once the machine is clean after a couple of HR (actually once is enough), I never had the same problem now.

Thanks anyway, however.. That's the thing, I was able to successfully flash the ROM to PDAViet. However after using the device for some time, it fails. It vibrates non-stop all of a sudden. Then if I reset, it won't boot anymore (stuck in the Windows Mobile splash screen. I think it may be a hardware problem already..
i recently bought a htc Desire S. it was working fine, for day or so. now every time i start it i get 'The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly' if i press wait.. it lets me get through a few of the setup options, then it does it again, and sometimes does the same for process .com.htc.bgp (but only once). if i press force close, it keeps rebooting and just shows the htc logo.
so i cannot start the phone.
ive tried a factory reset (twice) with no luck, i have tried 'solutions' from many threads, none seem to work. is there a way i can re-install android 2.3 or something?
does same thing in safe mode.
thankyou.
If you've only just bought it then I'd take it back for a replacement, it sounds like a hardware fault to me.
Only other thing I can think it might be would be a faulty SIM card. Have you tried booting it without a SIM in?
Could try without sim and sd card
You could r flash an ruu, but as it's new you'd be better off to just take it back and ask for another one

Some days ago I messed up my buttons (i was deleting some files with root explorer), touch screen was working fine but all buttons not ! I did 2 factory reset but nothing. I ended to reinstall ROM which solved my problem so maybe could help you to.
I'm doing well, you have to pull out a battery for a while and then come back it goes.
Ive been running a GTN7000 on rooted ICS for some time without any errors however today I decided to remove Chainfire 3D, after the compulsory reboot my phone shows no display after the initial logo. The normal jingles and vibrations take place and the buttons are lit but there is no screen output.
Does anyone know how to fix this without wiping my phone? thanks
It seems like you have a soft brick. Try a reset via Samsung Kies or look for a soft brick undo guide or something.
I am sorry I cannot help any further as I do not own a note myself and therefore have minimal experience with the device.
Would like to hope you can fix it.
Hit thanks if I helped.
i think you should try to soft reset it. you can use any reset method you already know....
sorry if i couldnt help you any further too. but as for me, when i face some error like that, i've always reset my phone (coz i already backup my data with titanium backup)
Hi guys, sorry for the delay.
I've finally managed to fix it.
After fighting through a whole heap of errors and reflashing the device at least 10 times I now have my phone back to a fully working rooted ICS state. I did however loose all my data.
Last night I decided to switch to ART from Dalvick runtime. Ever since, when android finishes loading, I get the error message "Unfortunately, Android System has Stopped." I've tried returning to stock (I'm rooted) and neither of my windows computers can see my phone which is weird because I unrooted my LG G3 recently with no problems. I've performed a hard (factory) reset numerous times. Sometimes the android system loads up OK but as soon as I reboot or power down I have the error message again. I'm at my wit's end. I can't return the phone because it's still rooted and I can't get it to work. When it boots, the LG screen appears normally. The At&t screen appears normally. Please help! I'm desperate.
If you're okay with losing info, give this a shot. I'm not sure exactly why it's doing this unless you had xposed framework before. Anyway, follow the steps and it should fix it. I'm not sure if you've tried going into the boot loader yet and doing a factory reset through there. So you can try whatever you like

I can't get a computer to recognize the phone. I have tried a hard reset and I still get the error message. Any other ideas?
I had the same issue after I tinkered with something I shouldn't have tinkered with. I think I installed GravityBox, didn't like what it did, tried to factory reset, and started getting the Android System error consistently.
That link mcnick posted will serve you well. I would however use this thread since it's tailor made for the AT&T variant.

URGENT HELP NEEDED -- "com.android.systemui has stopped" bootloop -- Verizon LG G3
I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong section, but I need some urgent help with my phone. I posted in this section hoping to get some quick responses.
I have a LG G3 with rooted stock 4.4.2 rom running xposed.
So I pulled my phone out of my pocket today only to see the Verizon boot logo in effect. I was thinking "that's weird, guess my phone needed to reboot? Strange." But the only problem is it never stopped. It will only boot up to the lock screen and occasionally it will display an error message telling me the systemui has stopped. Then about 10 seconds later, it reboots itself. It continues this process until I pull the battery.
I've tried booting into safe mode, no luck. It doesn't even actually boot into safe mode (it doesn't say safe mode in the bottom left corner.) Then it just reboots again,
I tried wiping the cache, no luck.
I don't want to just do a factory reset because that hasn't seemed to help anyone else with this issue as far as I've seen. I have not found any helpful information on how to fix this problem.
And no, I haven't changed anything lately that could have messed it up. A couple days ago I cut off some wakeup paths for Google Play Services via Greenify, but I don't think that's the cause of the problem.
My question is, what do I do? I feel lost on this subject. Normally I've always been able to diagnose problems on my own, but not in this situation.
I have all my apps and data backed up to Titanium Backup on my SD card if that's of any relevance.
Any suggestions?
If you can go to CWM just flash abother ROM like android L

How would I go about doing that with a device that won't boot up?
I'm not familiar with flashing ROMS and things like that.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to fix it and keep the phone the way it was. I understand that may not be possible though
