Hey,
I used the search function and did not find what I searched for so I hope I did not oversee something
I recorded some videos with my phone (HTC hero with the standart camera) and as I wanted to copy the files to my pc I could not find them. There is the option to share via gmail or bluetooth but the files are to big for gmail and my pc does not have bluetooth so how can I transfer these video files to my pc?
Is it even possible?
Thanks in advance
Nobody can help?
What about moving stuff to SD card and pulling card / using USB adapter to plug in PC? Plus it all depends on what format device records video in that will determine if you can play on PC.
good day.
I canĀ“t find it on my phone. I used Root Explorer to look for the videos but I dunno where they are saved, do you know what folder I have to look for?
Thx for the advice btw
Sorry winmo user. But after some searching the videos should be in the same folder as your pictures.
good day.
I guess I found the solution here:

Just posting it, in case anyone else has the problem. Thanks, seems your advise solved it.

im sorry if im not posting in the correct forum for this but i am extremely frustrated. i would very much like to watch videos on my wing. however i cannot find a solution on how to get the damned things on the device. i have searched the internet and looked at the htc website all to no avail. if anyone can help me that would be awesome.
thanks to all who contribute
look for TCPMP on www.google.com
ok, i downloaded the cab file for my wing. i dled the one that says for pocketpc. is this correct? also i downloaded battery status but im unsure on how to use this. if you could help it would be greatly appreciated.
the only other question is how do i get the media oon my wing? ive tried syncing it with wmp and that fails. i tried drag and drop onto the micro sd card and that also does not work. what am i doing wrong?
anyone that can answer these questions please! it would be a great help
media is a broad term maybe you should state what files you are trying to get to it
never synced with wmp myself but have many many many of my cd's on my 2GB microSD card and it works just fine
both as mp3 and wma
also have ogg, mpg, avi(divx) and such on it
i am trying to get avi's mp4's.... basically any type of movie file on my wing and never can do it. always get an error.
dezos112: what player are you using? what error do you get?
i dled the player you suggested. the player is fine. the problem is getting the movies on my card. nothing seems to work.
what do you mean by "the problem is getting the movies on my card. nothing seems to work."
Explain more clearly please.
i mean getting the movies files from my computer onto my 2gb micro sd card.
so freaking frustrating! sorry for *****ing but this is the only thing that annoys me about this phone
if i need to be anymore specific let me know.
using total commander and marking the mp4 files and clicking copy would prob do the trick
What exactly are you using for copying the files over to the phone? If you're doing it over the standard ActiveSync USB sync, it's going to take ages and you may be pulling the phone out of its cradle before the file is fully done copying. If you don't have one already, I'd highly reccomend getting a USB 2.0 MiniSD card reader to speed up the transfer of movies and music.
ok... ive solved the issue on how to get the movie files on my phone. now i try to open them with the program, the first time i tried it worked like a charm. now when i open a movie file it crashes to the today screen. do i need a different media player?????
by the way. i opened the movie file with tcpmp. thats the program that crashes to the today screen. is there any other media player i should use?
bump..................

I'm having a similar problem to one I noticed in a different post, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987102 . I need to save HD video to an external storage device directly, as this guy wanted to do. However, every camera app I've tried, and ursafe media director doesn't recognize my usb otg hard drive as a location. the only way I can browse it is through file manager. Any suggestions? I have a Lenovo S-3000, takes 1080p video, and I want to be able to record directly to a thumb drive with it. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I think there is a new APP meet your request,
find 'CameraOTG' from google play store.

Hai all,
Last week, i have been using my phone to take pictures and videos until a message pop up that i should transfer some of the files from internal to external memory. and so i did.
after that, i wanted to transfer all the pictures and videos to pc. So i went to the memory card, find all the pictures and videos and cut paste to my pc. Unfortunately, all the videos went missing after all files were transfered. be noted that all pictures had been successfully transfered but only the video went missing.
is there any tool or recovery app that can help find the missing video. Or can someone show where the temp file.
Thanks in advance.
I will be traveling internationally soon and was hoping to load up a large USB OTG pen drive for the flight with my entire music collection so I wouldn't have to pick and choose ahead of time and waste internal storage. My device is not rooted, and I would prefer to keep it that way. I've tried a TON of music players, from the big name ones to very obscure ones and none of them seem to be able to recognize or be directed to scan the USB OTG drive for playback. Is this just something that isn't possible with unrooted Oreo? Any help or app recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Have you checked this thread?
This post is from october 2017, so it should work on oreo since it's pretty recent

Yes, I did find that thread and tried the players listed. I can't get them to work, though. Nothing will let me navigate to the USB drive itself; only to internal storage to pick media folders. I can see it with Solid Explorer, but it will only play a single file at a time.
Reading this reddit thread looks like that otg devices should get mounted to the internal storage (dev post)
And looks like there is a specific music player for this: here
Hope this helps somehow, I know how bad is to have a giant music library but not enough space

Thanks for the link. The thread made me hopeful, but no luck so far. The drive isn't mounted anywhere under internal storage that I can find. Its actual mount point is /mnt/media_rw/F417-B616 (which, I'm guessing, is some sort of hardware ID or serial for the drive). Can't find a player that will let me navigate to that to scan, though. Haven't tried USB Audio Player PRO yet, though. It doesn't have a trial, and $8 seems a bit steep to just play off a USB even if it did work. May have to break down and try it.

So I got something somewhat working. I installed MiXplorer file explorer. It can see the USB drive and has a built-in media player that will play all the files in a given folder. So I guess my choice is between one CD at a time, or copying what I want to play from the USB to the device first. Which may wind up being a better solution since I won't be killing battery powering a USB drive.
Total Commander would be able to do it.
It has a built in media player and you're able to create/save playlist from any directory.
.
Check the play store or Google Total Commander Android to go to their official site (ghisler) to download it. The most recent version just improved OTG support, and there are also easy to install plugins for additional OTG support if needed.
