Hello all, just making a request for the themers here..
Now that we have a fully deodexed 2.2 froyo rom, the theming possibilities are endless.. with that being said, i was curious if someone here could please port over a circle battery indicator.. its a circle battery indicator that also shows the % readout in the middle of it.. its VERY cool
here is the origin thread of it, if someone could possibly get this on the DX

When I get home I can post a link to a framework-res.apk that has the circel battery already in it for use on the Froyo build for the X. The frameowrk-res is a version of Teenfaces version 6 he had for 2.1 but was made for use on the X by him as I ask him to do it a few weeks back for me as I had Froyo on my X already.
Why cant our phone do to the percentage? it can only do by 10%

Because the system on our phones only reports battery levels every 10% (to save battery nonetheless lol).

Actually it's less than that icon wise. 0,10,20,40,60,80,100
EDIT: That's just for stock though...there must be a way to modify it to use more images. I'll look into it when I get home today
Any update on this? Would really like to incorporate the batt into my theme

Well has the title says.. i use to b able to charge to 100% some 1 month back with the screen on and WiFi tether on.. well updated to latest matrix kernel charges only till 96% so is it implemented in the kernel? or is my battery miscalibrated or something like tat?
So lets see.... you singled out that this began after installing the latest matrix kernel, yet you didn't think to post in the matrix thread to see if this is happening to anyone else who installed it? Considering your target audience is in that thread, you would more likely find your answer there.

well did flash talon and was using original miui kernal has well.. same thing it wouldnt charge past 96.. guess should have mentioned... but if u could help me out is it implemented in the new kernel or just my mobile is miscalibrated
Anyways got my answer its bcoz of Battery Life eXtender (BLX)..
Heh always this battery thing. It's healthy for your battery to go to 95% only, same as it's better to not fully drain it. Thats exactly why there's no numeric battery indicator, ppl would be confused.

Not to be rude but if you did a simple google search there is ad nauseam information on this.
Please read this before you go crazy on me saying I haven't searched for this because I have. I've updated from every ROM of ICS thats dropped after reading up on them and the fastest and best working everyday ROM for ICS is BrainMaster's ICSv5 with Franco's Kernel 11/25. I haven't tried 11/26 but I've read the colors are much better on 25 and I believe it because its the best my screen has ever looked. SHARP!
So here's my issue. I want this as an everyday user, and I'm sure it can be. I just need to know how to set up the battery so that it lasts longer. I just restarted my phone and cleared all the battery info. Before I unplugged it at 6:30pm EST I had 91%. After very, very minor use (looked up the number for Home Depot and downloaded Amazon Market) I got back home at 9:30 and my battery was at 39%. Thats 60% in 3 hours. Thats terrible. How can I adjust the batter life? Can I use NSTools to do so or do I need to change code? I don't want to change the kernel completely because the colors truly are AMAZING with this version.
Please let me know, and thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Tula
Well, which app or function specifically is causing the drain? Did you look at the battery usage? Were you in an area with poor signal reception?
Before you trash a rom and kernel with a poorly conceived thread, try troubleshooting the problem.

For what it's worth, the only time I've gotten that kind of battery life is when a NFC process decided to start and run nonstop. No idea why it was running (particularly since I don't have Wallet configured), but since then I keep NFC disabled.
When that happened it was similar battery life - lost about 70% in 3 1/2 hours.
I never once trashed the ROM or the kernel? What are you talking about? Before reading into something for more than what it is you should take it for what it is. I don't know what the problem is, everyone else seems to be having a great amount of battery life. I'm asking on here, in this forum, because I figured someone (maybe a programmer who knows these things) can tell me how to "properly" config it. Idk what the deal is with it but I was looking for insight. I love the ROM and the kernel and I do believe I stated in the post that I wanted to keep it as a daily user. SO, either you can help me and teach me how to fix the problem or teach me to give you what info you need or do me a favor and don't waste my time. I'm looking for answers or suggestions. Not accusations and negativity.
"Poorly concieved thread!" Whats "poorly conceived" about it? The fact that I reached out on a FORUM and asked for HELP? Go comment on somebody else with that bullsh*t.
Reread your thread title; calling something "garbage" is not trashing it?
Reread and answer the questions asked in post #2. Nobody can do anything to help if you don't provide basic information or perform rudimentary problem-solving procedure.

Well man what i did with mine was calibrated the battery which means charge the battery completely then boot into recovery wipe battery stats then unplug and reboot then use it for 5 mins then charge fully again then unplug and drain completely till it shuts off on its own then fully charge again and it should be calibrated.. sounds like alot.. i kno lol but trust me it works and then if ur battery life doesnt extend after that (which it should) then i would look at what it is thats using the most matter (menu>settings>battery and go from there.. also make sure u have all the apps that will allow u to move to sd moved there it keeps them from running in the background and also make sure ur screen brightness is set low.. i took my auto brightness off and just turned it down just bright enough to see.. i know the colors looks fly like a bag of skittles when u got the brightness up wit franco kernel but it kills battery lol. hopefully that works for u pimpin and sorry for the novel lol just wanted to give u a few options to try.
JG & Freshie, thank you. And Braneless, you must be Braneless, because if YOU could read you'd see that my title says BATTERY LIFE is garbage. Not the ROM or the Kernel. BATTERY LIFE!
You seriously are 0 for 2 with trying to make me look like an idiot. I guess thats why you have almost 600 post and only 50 some odd thanks. Because half the time you're just bashing people trying to make it seem like you know it all when you can't even read a title correctly.
As far as the battery, I followed your instructions JG and also I started from the beginning and deleted all installs and reset to factory. I then installed each ROM from v1 all the way up and now EVERYTHING works and I got almost 2 hours out of my phone today and used 9%! WHOOHOOO!
Thanks again to the read Googlers who want to HELP OUT instead of trying to make people look like idiots.
AWESOME!
I had this problem too, but in my case it was the Google Wallet app. It drained the my battery in like 4 hours. After uninstalling it, all went back to normal.
Now if you said battery life on a rom kernel combo was FANTASTIC.
What would that imply? Thanks guys etc.
You go through all the trouble to make the thread but not spend a couple seconds to check what actually used up the battery.
Omfg this thread title just made lol all over the place haha

Glad i can help
I'd recommend trying out Nexus MV 2.xx its the best daily driver so far. battery will make it through the day, i used it for a quite a while. Now trying out the alpha 13, but will go back to MV if this doesn't cut it. I tried BM too but didnt notice too much difference from Kwiboo and the earlier CM9 A 11.
Well,I' ve seen many people ask this question, on random forums, so I'm just copy-pasting a post I made somewhere
else, and that's just about it.
Anyway, why do all of you prefer going after other apps that do all the work for you?. Anyway, seeing as none of them ended up working for you #evil laugh# , you could always do this.
TheWeirdOne's guide to battery calibration,
for dummies.
1) Get your battery charged (yes, that's a
hundred percent , to you)
2) Now, I'm assuming that all of you have a
version of CWM that replaced the crappy
stock recovery, so boot into recovery.
(Now, each phone has a different zip for flashing cwm, so I guess you'll have to hunt that out by yourself, anyway -__- Mine's
running on a version of five, but four
should work swell, too)
3) Now, go to Advanced, and then choose
'wipe battery stats.'
Ta-Da, and that's about it! . Oh, and
another thing. Once you Do that, DO NOT, I
repeat, do not charge your phone, just wait
for the battery to run out, and that's about
it.
Ps. My phone lasts for about one-and- a-
half to two days, right now, and that' s not
on standby, to those sarcastic ones out
there.
And here's the usual 'Oooh, if I actually
helped one of you guys out, please click
that big, 'thanks button, naw?'
Read this somewhere but thanks anyway
That simple
Anothe roveral guide also.
Please read an article I wrote about how to extend your battery life with other methods also.
Good luck!
I do it just the new school way
Using the battery calibration app through the android market. Little green altered android logo with the white % logo on it.
Works great for HD2 on android, Samsung Vibrant and Samsung Exhibit 4G
This guide worked wonders for me. I was only getting about ten hours of moderate 4g use out of my tbolt with stock battery. Now I'm getting eighteen to twenty. Works for me

My device is Samsung SL i9003. I have tried to use the Battery Calibration from the Market, but it says that I have to root it first. My phone is not rooted and I am using official ROM.
ANy idea how to calibrate a phone that is unrooted?

I don't think there is any way to do that. Btw, going by your join date, it's assumable that your phone is more than a year old. So, why don't you root your phone.
Trust me... The juice is worth the squeeze. I myself own a GT-i9003. And I rooted it 3 months after buying it. :-D
Thanks for the quick guide...I've seen this before but I've been too lazy to do it. But actually it's rather simple
So easy nice method! Im gonna check it out!

I need to root my i9003 so can any one guide me please?
i m currently running on samsug stock rom 2.3.6(baseband: i9003xxkpq)
Please i m a rookie so i need each and every step..
nice guide
I charged my phone after wiping battery stats some times ago, and it went weird, battery drops at a certain percent while I was using it
all battery stats are for is to collect and analyze battery usage per app basic on your Android devices. wiping stats does nothing to improve battery life or charge capacity at all.
few things.
1. when charging the phone does it need to be off?
2. wiping the battery status increase battery life or just the status? just trying to clear up my questions.
thanks in advance.

1.It doesn't matter whether the phone is turned on or not when charging (For me..)
2.Wiping battery stats does not increase battery life. It just resets the battery status and that's all.

Edit: I am looking for the percent battery mod so I can see an Icon and the actual number in the status bar.
What kind of mod are you referring to? I know most of the newer kernels support Ezekeel's battery control method (manually set charging limit). Check out NSTools on the Market if you haven't already - hands down the best OCing / tweaking utility for the Nexus S (4G).

I updated to ics and use ss launcher and noticed huge battery drain and couldn't figure it out. Well it turned out to be ss launcher.
Anyway just wanted to let fellow users know they released an update too ss launcher addressing the battery drain issue with ics.
From the Best: Galaxy Note
well, i cant agree to that. I use Stock ICS nor root or else and ssLauncher. My battery lasts forever. I had 76% Battery left after 13Hours of use. Facebook/Youtube/Whatsapp/SMS and sone small games played on this run!!!
I think something is wrong with your sslauncher!
Given they updated it to fix this issue, no, there's no problem with his system. It was a launcher problem.

There is NO WAY anyone's phone lasts that long under normal use. No way. I get tired of seeing people post about how long their battery lasts and how its been used for 30 hours and still has 30% left. Bs.
Unless you have a 9000 mah battery it aint happening. Even the friggin razor maxx don't last that long.
