Seidio Innocase + More Epic 4G accessories! - Epic 4G Accessories

So I've been stalking phone case sites looking for accessories that will be able to keep our precious Epic's safe! Seidio just sent me a email earlier today and have been adding things to the EPIC 4G section!

The Innocase Surface II for Epic 4G is 29.99 on preorder shipping on the 26th!
From what I see, the Innocase will be more or less a snap case on the Epic because of the sliding keyboard.
I was pretty happy with the Innocase I purchased for my nexus and considering the "Black plastic snap case" that is launching with the Epic from Sprint is also $29.99, the Seidio one is probably better quality.

Nice, seido always makes quality cases... Let's see how the one from sprint compares. Also i hope seido makes an extended battery for the epic, those are great.

Since the entire back is replaceable, can't we just buy replacement backs for it?
I thout the vibrant ships with two backs already.
Anyway, my pre was soft touch and I never got scratches on the back. I really don't think s case is necessary. We'll see whn the phone comes out. Sprint does 25% off accessories btw.

I don't take chances with phones and rather have some form of protection on them at all times.
I was deciding between a full body skin, or a Seidio Innocase and eventually decided to get a skin for the screen, and the Seidio innocase for the Epic.
I know Sprint sells the accessories for cheaper, but the cases they have for the Epic are cheap looking. BodyGlove is bulky and not formed well. And the other case they have is a shiny clear plastic case with makes your phone look like a cheap metro phone!
The Seidio Innocase's are a really nice matte finish and are very thin. I'll post some pictures of the product once it comes in!

Just to update, Seidio has both BLACK and AMETHYST colored Innocases in stock and SHIPPING!

Any type of case will eventually gather dust under it from usage/putting it in your pocket.
Or do you mean on the SURFACE of the case? The Innocase is a matte finish plastic case. I never had dust on the outside of the case but it would gather on the inside corners of the case. This is easily fixed by taking the case off every once in awhile and dusting it.

yeah cause my current's phone's case gets dust on the surface... even when you have it in your pants for five minutes.... i decided to go caseless after that

I would go pantless before my phone went caseless
Not really
Anyways, a word of advice on seidio cases: hopefully they have learned their lesson, but the Innocases that initially went out for the Evo actually damaged the phone and left permanent marks on the corners. Seidio corrected this somewhat quickly, but if you think your case doesn't fit right, DON'T USE IT. Wait to see what happens to other people first >.>

Yes, I'm was a bit wary of pre-ordering the case for the Epic since it hasn't even come out yet.
I remember that when they first released cases for the Nexus One, after about 2 weeks they updated the design and changed it a bit.
I'm gonna post a bunch of pictures once I receive the Seidio case, which should be around the time I get my Epic!

tomorrow? but seriously i hope that seido makes extended batteries, especially the 1750 mA one. it may be a small difference but it helps

Sprint case is atually decent... cheaper
Sprint's case for the Epic is actually decent... nothing near as crappy as the moment. The even better news... it's $20 (and if you're premier, then it's 25% off).
My one complaint is that the back has some sort of weird checker textured rubber surface that looks like it's supposed to be no-slip but really isn't that much better than the rubberized plastic... not a huge deal but it does add a bit more thickness than I'd imagine a nice Seidio would.

I tried that case from sprint that you are referring to and it felt like the tabs that held the front bezel on were unnecessarily large and would put pressure on the sliding mechanism over time.

Yes, this is how i feel with the Seidio Innocase. Posting a review in a second.

Review:
Upon getting the case, it was pretty much what I was expecting it to be. A plastic snap on case. The texture of the case is extremely pleasant, soft and grippy but still very sturdy feeling. Similar to the "Rubberized plastic" cases off ebay but feels much better quality.
Unlike other Innocase Surfaces, where there is a velvet felt lining on the back cover to protect the back from scratches, there is NO lining.
The case fully covers the camera and protrudes a bit out, so the camera DOES NOT touch the surface when placed down. Also, the case around the screen has a lip, so when placed screen down it won't touch the surface either.
The case as 4 main tabs on each end that snaps on to the phone. The tabs snap on securely on the phone, BUT the two tabs on the top of the screen rub against the bottom silver bezel of the phone.
The tabs are VERY THIN, but still not thin enough to not affect the sliding mechanism. When sliding open/close the keyboard it snags a bit and feels a bit less *springy* as the Epic normally is.
This might not be a problem for everyone, but I'm already EXTREMELY nervous about loosening the sliding keyboard. Feeling it snag everytime i close the keyboard is too much for me.
This case is very nice quality, but I'm not sure if I will be keeping it or returning it to seidio. I am contemplating sanding the tabs down a bit so they don't touch the bottom keyboard when closing.

I have been using the best buy's rebranded version of the innocase surface for the past few days. I had the same concerns as you about the case causing damage to the sliding mechanism.
As a temporary solution, I removed the phone's back cover and simply snapped the case on normally. When I slide out the keyboard now the mechanism feels just like it does without a case on at all.
Give it a shot and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the input!
How much was the BestBuy version?
And, I tried the case without the back cover on, and while the slider feels a bit more smooth, the phone wiggles in the back cover, and i still feel like its rubbing on the bottom keyboard.
I have already emailed Seidio about this, and most likely will be returning it and waiting for a different case. I was looking at the tabs, and if you were to file them down any thinner, they would probably break very easy.

I too purchased the best buy version (which is made by seidio, just rebranded platinum plus), reason over the seidio version is that it was $5 more and came with a clip. Ill try the backless mod to see but I havnt noticed much rubbing on mine.
FWIW, id rather have a little scuff on the inner bezel than to drop it and scratch the sh!t out of it, or normal wear and tear scratches from sliding it in and out of my pocket (rough military material)
UPDATEA: I took the case off and realized it does hinder the slide a litte, now I must decide between butter smooth open and close, or full body protection...and I wonder if it will loosen the slider over time?

Both covers are great, the Seidio cover is thinner and fits the form factor better along with a better feel, The sprint cover is a little thicker but provides the same amount of protection.
here are a couple pics for comparison.

Sweet thanks for the pics.. I'm leaning more towards the seido.. but what about damaging the phone. I've read that the seido can cause scratching.. haven't heard anything good or bad bout he sprint. Not feeling the fact that its thicker though

from the looks of those two cases side by side, does the sprint case offer they keyboard sliding anti-scratching protection too? I see that the hindges on the sprint top case is in the same location as the seido case
i own the sprint case...
It makes the phone thinker and i have noticed that the phone does get a bit hotter with the case on. also the top piece broke when i went to remove it to add a screen protector.
IMO: it is a nice looking case but will brake.
Bought my wife the sprint case to start. The tabs where it attaches to the bottom are raised and push the screen away from the keyboard. This also causes some pretty severe drag when trying to extend or retract the keyboard. The Seido case just came in yesterday and it is a much better fit. The tabs are much thinner and in no way effect the slider mechanism. I do worry about the tabs snapping if she were to remove the case multiple times.
Sounds like some people have luck wthe sprint case and some have luck withe seidio case. From the posts I have seen its varying between the to. I have both and neither provided a issue.

I bought the Sprint case, and it is just too huge for my liking. I previously had a Seido case for my Sprint Hero and loved that (perfect fit, good quality, not thick at all) so I think I will sell this case and get the Seido instead.
I just bought the Sprint case today and like it. It doesn't add much bulk and i like the textured back.

I ended up going with the best buy branded seido case with belt clip and I love it.. fits the phone beautifully.. here's a bunch of pics I took

Is the entire Sprint case rubbery-feeling plastic like Seidio's, or is it slippery plastic with just the rubbery grip glued on to the bottom half?
I'm getting my phone tomorrow (Sprint finally approved my early upgrade, but unfortunately a little too late to go home with the phone today), and I'm torn between instant gratification at the Sprint store vs having to wait until Thursday to buy a Seidio case from Amazon and have it FedEx'ed. If the Sprint case is all rubbery plastic, and the textured part is actually molded into the plastic, I'll probably go with Sprint's. But if it's slippery plastic with rubbery-backing glued on, I'll live with a naked phone for 24 hours and get the Seidio case from Amazon. The true agony will be if the Sprint case falls at neither extreme, and is rubbery plastic with a glued-on rubbery bottom... plus one for rubbery plastic, minus one for glued-on bottom.
Opinions?
Sorry, but the sprint one sucks. It's adds so much bulk to the phone that it really isn't convenient to put in my pocket anymore. Also, the fake CF weave on the back starting to peal away from the rest of the case within 10 days of owning it. The part covering the top/screen falls off fairly easy. I have the LE active case from Seido for the EVO and it's real nice. i wish there was something similar for the slider, but i doubt that will happen. I really don't want to have a case, but i don't feel that confident in the build of this phone. I did scratch my first epic from i think was my fifth-pocket rivet on my jeans. I never had a case on my pre, and that thing took lots of falls and beatings and never broke.
Ah, ok. That was exactly the info I needed. The glued-on bottom "tread" is the deal-breaker. I'm ordering the Seidio case
I like the sprint cover. Just make sure when you install that you put the correct side up or it will rub when you open the keyboard. The piece is the one that goes over the screen.
I have the sprint case, I had it on my original epic and now the one that I exchanged the first one for. I do notice that the top piece is a little loose now, probably from switching phones. But I have no rubbing or other issues. And anyone that is complaining that the case is adding too much bulk, all I can say is ROFL. What is it adding a MM? Can't fit it in your pocket? its in my pocket at all times and half the time I forget its there, jeans, work pants, shorts etc. and i'm a 5'7 thin guy so Its not like I'm 6'3 220 and don't notice it.
Best combo is zagg invisible shield and seidio car and holster. That's what I'm using

I'm 6'2" 210 and it's way to big for my pocket. I'm coming from a Pre, so this thing is like three times the size with the Sprint case. And the sweet rubber weave stuff on the back is peeling off on three of the four sides. This case has a good feel, but way too big on the back and ****ty build quality.
Im installing the realook screen protector tonight so i'll give you my opinion on that too.
but i'm glad you like yours robl45
I bought 2 different cases for my Epic, and vastly prefer the Sprint case (not quite sure what the other was).
The textured back makes for a nice grip, my previous case had issues with slipping. The Sprint case is very thick, but you quickly get used to it. I have no issues with sliding, and it conforms to the phone very well.
The ONLY issue I've had with the case, and this is true of all, is that the 2 side pieces of the top half wiggle. It's less noticeable with the Sprint case because of the thickness, but it still does. I fixed this using thermal tape.
As for the 'weave' rubbing off: I don't see how that is possible, it's part of the case: It's a single mold.

I have the sprint cover, and it looks and feels great, but I have nothing to compare it against. there might be a better case out there, but I feel that this case was worth the $20.
I have the Sprint case.
Both bottom corners of the squishy rubber "weave" have come off; this confirms it's a separate piece from the larger mold it fits into. I've Gorilla-glued both corners, but one of them is separating again. Also, the tabs that holds the bigger piece, which covers the battery cover + camera, near the end where the charging + headphone ports are located are worn. So the bigger piece barely stays on.
I'm done with this case. I'll be in the market for a similarly rubberized but higher-quality product.

Seidio Active X review

I ordered the Seidio Active X case the day it was released and just recieved it today. I originally purchased the Innocase Surface II when it came out but soon returned it. While I liked that one for the most part, I didn't like the power button/volume rocker cutouts and the phone was also a little loose in the case. I ended up purchasing one just like it at Best Buy (Platinum case) to last me until the Active X release. I can vouch for the shock protection because the first day I had it on the phone, I dropped it on pavement when getting out of my truck; no damage to the phone whatsoever, and barely scratched the case.
The Active X covers up both buttons and makes it much easier to operate. It fits perfect (doesn't cover up the speaker like another case, haha.) While the Innocase is a hardcase, the Active X is silicone with a plastic exoskeleton which I think will offer the same protection. It also has finger grooves which make it easier to hold. The only con that I can think of is that it may attract more dust than the innocase due to the silicone but I haven't really noticed any yet. So far I love the case, best one I've used so far. Now for some pictures...
Platinum (Innocase) on the left and Active X on the right

The Active X is just a tad thicker than the Platinum but not too noticable once it's on the phone
The Active X is made of 2 pieces. A silicone wrap and a plastic exoskeleton

Thanks! I usually just use the holster at work/around the office.
I've kept it in my pocket today and I do notice it holds on to pocket lint a little, mostly on the silicone edges of the phone, not on the rubberized plastic back. Not a dealbreaker for me because the lint is easily wiped/blown off.

This looks like a winner to me. Maybe I'll buy this since I don't have warranty or insurance, and the oem case isn't gonna cut it.

I didn't notice but I just looked at their website and you're correct, the holsters look different. I ordered the combo and they were packaged separate; not sure why they would sell 2 different holsters for the same case.
I have noticed one thing while using the holster that's a PITA. Removing the phone is no problem but putting it back in is a little difficult. The spring clip is tapered so you can slide the phone into the holster. The clip is so tight that it pulls the silicone away from the top of the phone if you try to slide it in. Sometimes I have to lift the spring clip with my finger just to get the phone in the holster.
Not a huge deal but just a little annoying. I'm hoping it just needs to be broken in a little, if not I might be contacting Seidio.
Not trying to be real picky but it doesn't seem to work the way it was designed to.

It's an optical illusion. The picture of the holster separately was taken at an odd angle. This case is smaller than the Otterbox Commuter, so should fit in a car dock the Otterbox fit in. I've ordered a Garmin Nuvi 200w car dock that I am hopefully I can use with this case, with slight modification. I love this case, BTW. Very happy I waited for it to come out.

do you use the holster? do you have any problems with the hinge as reported above?
Please let us know if the Garmin mount works.. That'd be great
I've used the holster a couple times. I lift the hinge with my index finger as I push the phone back into the holster. Never occurred to me to try just pushing the phone back against the hinge to force the hinge up and out of the way. Yeah, I checked it, not a good idea. That may work with a hard case, but (as the original poster noted) will not work with this case. Not even an issue I would have noticed, though.
I don't expect to use the holster much and only got it due to the 20% off promotion on orders over $50. I got this case over the Otterbox because it is thinner and I intend to keep my phone in my front pocket. I'm not having issues with lint either as the silicone is more like synthetic rubber.
I love the look, feel, quality. Highly recommended. I found myself holding the phone way over my head to take video over the crowd today, something I would never have done before. The size, shape, grippy materials - it's not just how it's protected if you drop it - it's that you feel like it won't slip out and drop now.
Note that only the phone's back cover is on the case, so the 2 pieces of the case are not together as well as they would be with the case on the phone. I was just documenting alignment.
do you feel like the silicon lip makes it hard to hit keyboard buttons on the edge of the screen?
Yes, I do. It is especially an issue dragging shortcuts between homescreens as I get right to the edge of the screen, hit the lip, and drop what I meant to drag to the next screen. The silicone-rubber lip doesn't cover the screen at all, or even come within a mm of doing so (it stops about halfway between the edge of the glass and edge of the actual screen). But to hit the edge of the screen with the tip of a typically fat finger requires pushing the silicone-rubber over a bit. It is an annoyance, but I have been able to accomplish everything I've set out to do without removing the case because this lip is soft silicone rather than hard plastic. I considered trimming it back a little with an exacto, but I suspect the silicone-rubber would no longer stay against the phone as well if it did not extend over the glass as much to provide tension due to the reduced circumference of the edge.
so has anyone had the holster come broken? mine works great, except the positional lock that the holster is supposed to have doesnt work, and there is visible damage to the plastic washer that holds the belt clip to the actual holster. annoying, i just got it today!

Got mine today. Love the look and protection. Does anyone feel like the rubber polymer is slippery? I might return just because it feels so slippery to the touch. Maybe I can treat it with a surfactant or something to change the feel.

Yoobao TPU+PC Case Review

Hi guys, I just wanted to give my review on the case that I've finally settled on! It took me forever to finally decide on a case, but I finally made my choice and I couldn't be happier. I originally had the Silicone case from the T-Mobile store, but that case just wasn't to my liking.

Nice price for a high quality case for sure. Item took me 9 days to get from the time I ordered it, which isn't at all bad considering it ships from Hong Kong and I'm in California.
The breakdown: this is a lightweight case (AKA not a competitor to the Case Mate Tough and similar heavy-duty cases) that is made out of 2 materials. It is both TPU and Polycarbonate (plastic). The parts that are plastic are where the 2 wedge-shaped pieces on the back of the phone are (above and below the swoosh).
My review: my primary reason for getting a new case was because the T-Mobile gel case was too loose. It felt like a pair of baggy pants on a skinny kid (Take it from a skinny person that that feeling is really uncomfortable). First up is the packaging:

Nice packaging, comes with a screen protector and cloth inside (I haven't put the screen protector on yet so I'll report on that later). The most noticeable things about the packaging are the comical errors in grammar and spelling, but I couldn't care less about that when I like the product .
I read good things about TPU cases being much tighter than Silicone, and the Yoobao case is certainly a good example of that. Out of the box, it is much more resistant to flexing and takes a bit of an effort to actually put the phone into. BIG plus for me. It's very form fitting and tight on the phone. It's also a thin case, which was instantly noticeable because in the hand it feels more like a naked Sensation than the T-Mob case did. That's not to say it provides no protection, because the combination of TPU and PC makes it feel quite strong for a thin case. Also, let's be honest that most people looking for thin TPU cases aren't looking for the most hardcore in protection. I'm sure the Yoobao will do fine in minor drop situations.
The cutouts on this case are close to perfection.
The headphones jack is fine for the headphones I use. It's about the same size that the cutout on the T-Mob case is.
The cutouts on the top half. As you can see, Yoobao included cutouts for every place where they are needed. 2 things I really like here: the first, that the cutouts are perfectly placed (the mic holes are perfectly centered in each cutout, which is rare), the second, that there is a separate cutout for the camera and the flash. Most cases have one big hole for both the camera and the flash, and the fact that this has individual cutouts exudes quality.
Cutouts at the bottom. This is a pretty bad picture because the mic holes are better centered than the pic makes it look like. Again, nice that they have individual cutouts.
Terrible picture, I know, but I just wanted to show that even the bottom mic hole has a cutout (which like the others is perfectly aligned).
This is the ONLY thing I don't like about the case. While (looking at the cutout from this orientation) the left and right sides of the cutout provide plenty of space, the top part is just barely too thick.
As you can see from the bump, it's just a little too tight for the charger. It's still easy to get the charger in, it's just that it pushes the TPU up right there.
It's a very minor issue, and I'm sure you could easily take a knife to it to make it fit better. This is legitimately the only thing I would change about this case.
The looks:
The looks of this case were probably the main reason I chose it over others. I personally wanted a light case that preserves the looks of the naked Sensation as much as possible, and I don't think you can do any better than this case. I obviously went with the black model, but there is also a white model. The TPU is translucent, and in decent light the case is a dark smoked color (it's really only in low light that it looks completely black). Really sexy color, and it's awesome that you can see the htc logo on the back. The other main case I looked at was the Qubits one that is very popular, but I liked how the Yoobao allows you to see the actual swoosh and htc on the back, rather than an opaque black swoosh that merely imitates the phone. The plastic pieces are so well done that they look just like the phone underneath.
I thought that this picture demonstrated how smooth the transition is from PC to TPU. It's really only a transition that you can feel; you can't see it because it's so smooth.
Other things to note:
The TPU comes up over the lip around the phone like most cases do. It's thin, so when you place the phone face down the screen is just barely off the surface. I didn't include this as a negative thing because I don't have any personal experiences with other cases other than the T-Mob one (which definitely does provide a bigger lip), and I've also heard that TPU cases don't give as much a lip as Silicone cases do.
The power button is harder to press down, but I also didn't include this as a negative because I've heard the same about many TPU cases. The volume rocker also takes a little bit more effort. Both of them are covered by clear TPU that isn't smoked, so it's kinda cool that they are showing off the metal pieces on the phone.
It's not as grippy as a pure silicone case because it can slide around a bit on the plastic parts. I personally think it's grippy enough and enjoy how easy it is to slide in my pants.
Summary: this case is about as good as a lightweight case can get. If you aren't looking for hardcore protection, I absolutely recommend the Yoobao case. It looks great, feels great, adds minimal bulk, fits tightly, and has near-perfect cutouts. IMO no other case out there does a better job of preserving the Sensation's design, and no other case can match how well done the cutouts other than the USB cutout are. I might buy another one just to have an extra because I like it so much. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.
It's just like any other tpu "twill design" cases. It's just branded that's all.
Nice review. I got one that is unbranded. Don't use it no more.

Actually its not, yeah, it might be kind of similar but imo this design is much better. The twill design does go over the top and bottom of the phone

Ahh just noticed the difference. The matte covers the top and the bottom where the Yoobao doesn't.
Does the screen protector cover the whole front glass? or just he visible screen?
Sorry to hijack your thread but I do have a white one for sale for weeks but one person asked about it and never followed through. The one I have was never used. I just put it on for testing purposes, but ended up not using it. The fs thread is in the marketplace here or you can PM me for details. I don't want to detract the thread by posting pics and such .

Great detailed review my friend!
can't link yet, but go to amazon.com and type in "HTC SENSATION 4G / SENSATION XE GEL SKIN CASE"
is this suppose to be the same case??
I just got these case myself last week. I love the fact that it fits inside my OEM HTC Leather case. I had to apply little shoe stretch on the sides. But the phone fits perfectly. I was considering the expensive Seidio case and holster...but the Yoobao TPU & Screensaver and the OEM leather case were a great deal at about $20 shipped total on ebay.

Not sure what you're talking about. The Yoobao case covers the top and bottom just like any other case (it wraps around the front at all sides, providing a lip around the whole phone just like most other cases). And I haven't tried the screen protector yet.
Great Review!
I actually was considering this case, but the Yoobao was a big turn off for me. Has anyone found a way to cover up/scratch it off?
I am sure Goof off would take it off.

buy one without yooboo on it. search for 'twill gel case'
I must add something, the screen protector that comes with this Yoobao cover fits the screen a 100% and with a little heat and dust free environment applies perfectly.
I just receive mine today and quickly put the OtterBox Commuter in my drawer.
I must thanks the OP, this is an awesome purchase.
This case is awesome. Thanks OP for the find!

I know I said I was going to do an update when I installed the screen protector; obviously I put that off for a long time. Anyways I did install it and it's exactly like you describe. Applied incredibly easily, no bubbles, fits perfectly, and it even has a little bit of a cutout for the light sensor. Awesome screen protector to complement an equally awesome case.
Just wanted to give this a little bump to update and for others to see this review who haven't yet.
I bought this case; did anyone try removing the yoobao logo with goo-off? if not, i'll guess i'll be the 1st one to try since i bought a clear(white) case and have a white beats back case to go with it....

I've had past success with goo gone. The goo off is the more paint thinner smelling than the goo gone right? I recently took off the Aprolink logo from my hybrid case.
The goo gone is the one that smells like citrus. I use that stuff to take off adhesives from car finishes as well.

Spigen [Thin Fit] [Black] Premium Matte Finish Hard Case [Amazon]

This is my short take on this new case I just received today. I like it because it is thin. The cut outs are clean and centered. The back has a soft touch plastic feel so it helps with grip. Finger prints do show on the case (some people with dry hands will not have an issue. My hands are normally moist.) but can be easily wiped away.
Normally the hybrid cases with PC (polycarbonate) on the back and TPU on the sides that cover the buttons give them a mushy feeling when pressed. It is hard to tell if you pushed the button all the way down or not. So with the cut outs for the power and volume button, this problem is eliminated. The plastic which separates the two buttons help me to identify each button quickly. I also found the buttons were unintentionally pressed a lot when I didn't have the case. I don't have this issue anymore. I would recommend this case for anyone who wants protection against scratches. It won't protect the phone against high drops. There is no cushion or air pockets to protect the phone. But this is exactly what these thin cases are for, scratch protection and protection against small bumps. I bought it at Amazon. I ordered it around noon Pacific Time and it was shipped after two hours. I was pleased with the speedy handling.

Update...this sounds silly but the case seems to make the phone feel heavier to me. But the added weight feels good in the hand. The case by itself is not heavy. Not sure why I feel this way...
Update # 2: 24 hours later, I am still loving this case. The finger print scanner cut out is the perfect size. I have not had any issues unlocking my phone. I actually wanted a clear case but this black color is starting to grow on me. With the camera visor being glossy black and the case being flat black, it adds a stealth look along with providing some contrast.
Update # 3: The case's matte finish does not create too much friction when inserting the phone into your jean packet or pulling it out. This is a plus.

Seems many buyers on Amazon would disagree with you. Three main things I don't like about the Ringke:
1) I don't really like the feel of the case
2) Its a fingerprint magnet, unlike anything I've ever experienced.
3) The front edges are kind of sharp which can make it a little uncomfortable to hold against my ear while on the phone.
If only Otterbox made the Symmetry series for the Nexus 6p and all my future phones, I'd never have to shop around for cases again.
This case is pretty excellent - feels grippy & solid

Lol I was going to say that many buyers on Amazon would disagree with you about Ringke, but I guess you know that buyers go with the flow most of the time. All of what you said is true for the Rugged Armor, which are the reasons why I don't like it. And also it is sand magnet too. That's my real life feedback. I am sure the Amazon buyers will disagree

Ultimately I can just return it if I dont like it. The inconvenience of owning an unpopular phone and being unable to try a product hands on before purchase, but at least Amazon has a solid return policy.

I am not a fan of cases either and will probably remove it once the phone isn't new to me anymore (in 3 months?) But I can't wait for the super thin one that the others are chatting about from Huawei. I want to ensure my phone doesn't scratch considering the metal body. Good luck.

OP, a question to you: do you think the case will accomodate one of those thin metal plates attached to the back plate on the inside, to use with a magnetic car mount? Like this:
The plate should be very slim, only about 0,5-1mm in thickness. Do you think this will work? Any way you could test this out for me even, by sticking something of approx. that thickness in between the back and case?
Thanks in advance!

I have that same car mount. It works for me with no issues. I'm sure it will work out for you as well.
BTW...I do not notice the plate after the case is put on. The back is flat. The pictures taken have the plate inserted.

I'm really enjoying this case as well. I agree with all the OP'sthoughts especially about fixing the sensitive button presses. Overall very happy with the thiness, fit and soft touch. Very thin but covers most of the visor and has a textured soft touch finish. I did end up using the spigen but may switch. The other case doesn't have an issue with fingerprints.

Without using any tool for measurement they seem to be identical in thinness. Only notable differences between the two would be the visor cover, soft touch finish, and the spigen has a piece that separates the volume and power buttons. Either of these things can be taken as a plus or minus depending on personally preference. If you're deciding between the two the Monoy case shipped and arrived faster.

There is a tiny lip so the glass does not contact the surface if placed glass side down. I think you need a screen protector if you're worried.

hey, all...

I have no experience with this brand and it doesn't seem to be common in the USA, but looking at their site, they actually have a flip case for the 6P with SLEEP FUNCTION! Other than the grip-of-death folio case from google, I could not find any flip cases with the rare-as-unicorns sleep function. I almost gave up until I came across your post. Seriously, I was to the point where I was thinking of gutting a flip case to insert a magnet into it. Thank you!
I just ordered this and I hope I get it before christmas (for the misses):

It's not cheap, but it's still cheaper than the folio case and seems much better looking. I'll update when I get it. I think the maker is in Hong Kong so it'll take at least a week.

Here's few pictures that someone else took from Tetded leather case (without flipcover). Apparently it feels quite good (not slippery at all).
I remember the g3 community have alot of people buying the case. Tetded makes cases for most phones so the reviews are all over the place.
I purchased a folio case for my Nexus 6 from this company and was impressed with the quality. I ultimately didn't use it much as I decided that the minimal bulk of the case added to the already overly bulky phone made carrying it in my pocket uncomfortable. Oh, and the back of the case was thick enough (leather over a plastic case mold) that it prevented wireless charging on the 6 to work.
Most curious of the feel of the leather. nothing worse then cheap plasticy leather
^^^...that's a great point.
needless to say...curiosity got the better of me and i ordered one.
when it gets here...i'll post a review.
as i mentioned...the apple case for the 6 is pretty nice. it's actually ALL leather.
feels great and the phone sits well inside of it.
this one is actually leather seemingly wrapped around a plastic shell?
so, we'll see.
i think it might be a little bulky/thick for my tastes...
but, i'm willing to give it a shot.
in the meantime...my adopted protective case arrives later today.

The one for the 6, which looks exactly like this model for the 6P, is basically a ultra thin case (think Spigen Thin-Fit) with a leather skin. The leather, at least on the one for my 6, was impressive and felt nice. Very well finished and detailed. The case fit well and snapped onto the phone with authority, and was a precise fit.

that's exactly my point.
it's a fantastic case with seemingly quality leather and, like you mentioned, fits like a glove.
doesn't add much bulk, if any, it's perfectly grippy, looks fantastic, and seems like it could last a while.
makes me hope the tetded is half as well made and worth it.

the premium flipcover cases have the nicer brown leather (multi tone).
I have the black slim back leather case from tetded for my 6p. It feels great in hand and is not plastic feeling, it feels like a natural leather wallet texture. I wish it was smooth leather though, but its as close as I can find to be like the apple leather cases. It took a few weeks to get to me though because its coming from Hong Kong. My wife likes it as well and had me order a white one for her, so its on the way too. The inside of the case has a microfiber insert to protect from rubbing the finish of the phone off.
Overall I like it and the phone is way less slippery with this case. Also I'm using it with the intelliarmor HD glass screen protector and both work great together.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunately I cannot say about a flip case, as I have the one that only covers the back.
I don't like how it doesn't completely cover the edges on the top and bottom. I've had phones crack in those exact areas.
I just received the Dijon II case. It looks good, the cut-outs are fine, fits well, and you can easily remove it from the case. It does have a magnet to sleep/wakeup the screen BUT there are no magnets to keep the screen closed. The cover is not very light so it doesn't open by itself that easily.
They do make a Dijon III case that has a lip in the middle to keep the cover closed BUT there are no speakers holes like on the Dijon II, which makes it not possible to talk on the phone with the cover closed. If the Dijon III had those holes, I would get that version.
Time to wrap it up and put in under the tree...
Thinking of ordering one with flip.
But I'll await your reviews.
My question would be, does the flip stay closed when it should or does the flip stay half open when left on a table?

Thinking of ordering one with the flip.
But I'll await your reviews.
My question would be, does the flip stay closed when you leave it on a table? Or is it like half open?
And does it stay open when you like it to, or does it self- close?
Mine stays closed and the lid lays completely flat. There is no magnetic clasp however so the lid will flop around when in use and I normally flop it around back while using the phone where it also lays flat. The power on/off is flawless. Extra bonus if you are in a trusted location because you can simply open it and swipe straight into the gui. I'd rate the quality as acceptable for the price. Doesn't feel cheap but you're not going to going to be wowed. I haven't had too many cases of this type but for what it's worth it is easily the least bulky of the lot.
Greatest weakness would be poor drop protection for a case of this kind. The ends have only modest protection and the cover may open when dipped exposing the screen since there is nothing keeping it closed.
Overall it is about what I expected and I'm happy with the purchase. It looks and feels nice, offers half decent protection even if it does lag behind similar cases, the power function is nice.
