Hello,
i hope this is the right place to ask this question. I got a blackberry from my company and i have a HTC Touch Pro 2. The problem that i have is that all my contacts are stored in the Touch Pro (and sync'ed with MyPhone service) and i would like to have a way to syncronize them with the blackberry (i guess it has the enterprise something). Any advice?
Thank you
Lello
What is your company email platform?
Are you allowed to install Blackberry Desktop Manager/Active Sync?
Personally I have done it this way:
Contacts on HD Mini sync'd to online Exchange account and via OggSync to Google. Was also sync'd via AS to Outlook on PC but not at present.
Google sync installed on BB and linked to same Google account. Also tried Companion Link on works laptop to link with Google but the OTA system was easier to manage.
I didn't try yet to install Desktop Manager on the BB. I tried to install Google sync on it and it doesn't work. Got a 9700 bold.
Maybe the easiest solution is to use DM/AS on a pc and sync both BB and TP2 there?
Quite probably the easiest.
I didn't do it that way as my corporate email/BB is Lotus Notes and my HD mini is actually connected to mail2web Exchange.

Hi guys, i was looking for a way to syncronize my hotmail account with pocket outlook, is ti possible??
On my pc i've installed "Outlook Connector" to sync them...
...something similar for ppc??
I searched through the forum but i haven't found anything
Sorry for my bad bad English...
Probably a lot easier to use Pocket MSN.
If you try and create an Outlook account to hotmail from Mobile 5 onwards it will probably start Pocket MSM anyway.
you can go to hotmail's website, look for the perferences requires to setup your mail account.. and then go to Messaging/Menu/Options and click New Account
insert all email account properties.. and voila.
On my phone that would not work. (Qtek 9100 WM5.0(Wizard))
As soon as you create an account of the form [email protected], the New Account wizard is cancelled and you are dumped into Pocket MSN whether you like it or not.

I think "nir36" means to go with your PC on Option page of your hotmail account...and than select the option to redirect all received mail to a NEW account!!
Am i right??
If so...i'd like to use my actual address, but if there's no way...
...i'll use Pocket MSN
Thank you guys!!
How to get Hotmail on your Windows Mobile phone
The easiest way (if you want over-the-air sync, data charges apply of course) is to use Windows Live Mobile:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334621
Install the cab, run the program and enter your hotmail address and your password. you can then choose whether you want to sync your address book and/or your emails to the phone.
Your Hotmail account appears within Pocket Outlook as a separate account.
After the first sync, you can then set up your emails to be pushed to the phone, sync'd at regular intervals, or only when you initiate it.

wow, this is a real complete application, i'm playing with it now and i'ts ok!!
the wizard is simple and everithing works; it creates a "Windows Live" account under the Outlook one in the ppc!!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Sadly, Windows Live Mobile still doesn't allow task and calendar sync with Windows Live Calendar.
So, if you want to go a step further and cut your ties with the PC and abandon ActiveSync altogether, I'd suggest you use Google Calendar for that function instead.
Web (Google Calendar) to phone (Pocket Outlook) two-way sync can be achieved via Google Mobile Sync which uses Exchange, and can run in parallel with Windows Live Mobile.
For PC (Outlook Calendar) to web (Google Calendar) two-way sync, just use Google Calendar Sync.
Voila! No need to dock your phone to your PC for PIM synchronization.
i assumed you have WM6..
A related question, I used to sync my hotmail account using pocket outlook, but here is what I actually wanted:
1. I want to download the mails as usual, but do NOT want them to be deleted from the server when I delete them from the device, is there anyway to do it (I am using WM 6.1 Pro and my hotmail account is non premium).
Thanks
Hi I am selling my Fuze to my brother (whenever the TP2 comes out on Tmo) and want to know the best way to transfer his contacts from his Blackberry to the Fuze. I tried the search function in both this subforum and the entire site. (also I googled it) no clear answers there and nothing here. If any could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
If you have Outlook, use Desktop Manager (Blackberry) to sync the Blackberry to Outlook using a usb cable. That will give you contacts, calendar and tasks. Then depending on the version of Windows he has XP or Vista you'll run Active Sync or Mobile Device Manager to sync Outlook with the Fuze.

$5-$10 at a phone store to transfer it if you don't know how to
great

Thanks. I just did not know enough about blackberries to know if they had something to sync with outlook. I take it I can download DM from the BB website?
Dear all, either I am used to older models of phones (Nokia and Samsung, for instance) using PC suite for operating the phones, or I am not sufficiently skilled to find in XDA any information on a HTC HD2 PC SUITE. I have used XTNCONNECT, but after reanstallation of MS OFFICE AND MS OUTLOOK, it cannot be configured. My problem is that I want to avoid Windows Mobile Center. It synchronizes default contacts, calendars, etc. from MS Outlook. I need a PC suite to synchronize groups of contacts, various calendars, etc.
I am ready to donate if someone solves this problem of mine.
Thanks in advance
Have a look at Microsoft My Phone as it should sync using the web, will allow you to stay away from outlook if thats your thing.

+1 for Microsoft My Phone. It's great to back-up without using your PC at all. Plus, it will back-up your SMS messages, photos and more. I only sync with the computer now to use MyMobiler.
Give google a try.
Every Gmail account support exchange, just google "google sync" to see how to config.
Compared with Microsoft Myphone, no phone, notes or message sync, but will give you Pushmail function(mail arrive at your phone as soon as you recieve it).
Just google pandaapp.
Microsoft wouldn't have forgotten this? Right...? :-(
I've traded up from my HD2 to an HD7. One of the features I loved on the old phone was sync'ing all my stuff up to the myphone.microsoft.com service. So I can keep old content, will always have my contacts and so forth.
But as much as I look around the HD7, I can't find any way to sync it to get my stuff on the new phone. I can't download the myphone software as WP7 doesn't recognise Cab files and the new windowsphone.live.com doesn't have any back up features just overview of the services on your phone like Xbo and Facebook account.
Seriously, Microsoft wouldn't have gotten their long standing WinMo customers reliant on their amazing back-up service and then just cast us out into the unbacked up snow would they?
Any help is much appreciated!!!

Your contacts will sync from your Windows Live Account (Ie your Hotmail Contacts).
I assume you can export from MyPhone to Hotmail?
I did think of that but it doesn't seem to be working. The account overview screen says Windows Live covers hotmail, xbox, photos and contacts but there's no option to tick contacts in the setup screen just email.
I also use an Exchange server but there's no contacts on there as my HD2 would only let you sync contacts from one or the other and I chose myphone.
Anythign else I can try - even if it's a way to export contacts and text messages from the HD2 and manually drop them into the HD7?

Here's what I did.
1. Backed up all my contacts with DotFred's PIM Backup just in case.
2. Disconnected syncing with MyPhone.
3. New local sync connection with Outlook.
4. Synced Outlook with Windows Live using the Windows Live Connector for Outlook.
5. Synced contacts on my WP7 from Live.
Sure, it's reaching around your elbow to scratch your ass but it only took me about 5 minutes tops.
I don't have WP7 yet, but on the MyPhone website, you can set certain data to restore to the phone on the next sync.
MyPhone is a Windows Mobile 6.5 service, it has nothing to do with WP7.
WP7 puts everything in the cloud so you don't need to back up the phone.
Use the Outlook connector for hotmail to sync from Outlook to Hotmail, then connect your WP7 phone to hotmail and all will be well. Emails, contacts and calendar will sync up to your phone.
I was hoping Myphone communicated with windowsphone.live.com, but that wasn't the case. I had to pirate Outlook 2007, since Outlook 2010 was unable to sync via WMDC on W7 64 bit.
I then exported my contacts to a .csv from Outlook 2007 and imported to my new live-account that I was going to use with my WP7 device.
My phone would then sync the contacts when logged in to my live-account.
someone else posted this before so they get the credit:
www.soocial.com
Create an acct with any email address. Follow the instructions to download the cab to your phone and install. Sync your contacts to soocial. Cancel that sync relationship and sync to your windows live acct.
You can sync 250 contacts this way without paying for it.

I was able to sync my Tilt2 with Outlook 2010 via WMDC and I'm using Windows 7 as well.
The issue is with 64 bit.
Windows 7 64 bit + Office 2010 64 bit or W7 64 bit + Office 2010 32 bit. I'm not sure if 32 bit Outlook would work, but I decided to go for Outlook 2007 to be sure.

Yea, I meant to notate that I'm using Windows 7 x64 as well.
I'm using win7 32 bit, so sholdnt be an issue.
Obviously I can manually put in my contacts, but I'd still be missing text messages so it's not quite ideal.
Am I just being a whinger who's hoping for a magic pixie? it's okay to say if I am!

You don't need to use myphone or outlook. All you need is your winmo 6.5 device and windows live.
http://windowsphone7central.com/news/guide_how_to_easily_transfer_your_windows_mobile_contacts_to_your_windows_phone_7_device-11-09-10.php
Those are the instructions I used. My tilt2 sent everything up into the cloud to my live account, which then automagically dropped right back down onto my Focus. This copied over my contacts (including their pictures) and my calendar.
No software required. Didn't even have a sim in the tilt2. Sent it up to the cloud over wifi. Gotta love it.
Microsoft has another device portal that it will use for WP7. It will be similar to MyPhone. MyPhone isn't supported on WP7.

And that device portal will be available when or where? It's really a pain that you can't backup your text messages. I want to throw out my HD7 (this device just sucks big time with so many device specific problems) and exchange it for an Omnia 7, but I really want to backup my texts before so I can restore them... I haven't found any way yet to do so my e-mail and contacts are synced with Exchange and I can backup the music and pictures with Zune... but my texts...
Hi peeps,
Never even seen a Samsung omnia 7, but tonight I was asked how you would sync MS Outlook contacts and calender from windows 7 pc to the Samsung omnia 7
I couldn't answer at the time because my last windows phone was a HTC HD2 running 6.5 and syncing that with XP seemed to be a bit backward compared with my old HTC Blueangel and ActiveSync.
Can you please point me / her in the correct direction. She has a pop email account, not hotmail and apparently is finding it a little difficult to find instructions for anything other than an MS Exchange setup.
I did a search and saw a few references to wireless sync, what's the way forward please?
If this MS outlook hotmail connector "Work around" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqJL9X0oqIk is the only work around then MS are truly nuts, what an own-goal. iPhone & Android have better sync capabilities with MS Outlook
you have to setup the phone to synchronize with Windows Live Website and then add in outlook (2007>2010) the hotmail account as mail account.
It will download the "hotmail connector" to download all data from windows live.
you can also use windows live mail 2011 instead of outlook (free and easy to use)
MSFT have stated pretty clearly that the future is in the cloud. Actually Windows Live mail is an excellent implemenation of cloud & local e-mail integration.. If you want to use google mail or something else, then fine, (and WP7 is fine with that too) .. but I don't know why MSFT have to support possible e-mail configurations - for free. If you don't want to play it their way try nuevasync, pipe everything via their service & connect as an exchange server.
