I want to know how to set a custom shortcut icon. Im running ADW EX and I know you can add a custom shortcut then click the picture, problem is I am running a theme and I want to use Go SMS with the themed stock messaging icon. Where are those icons located? Is there a way to get to those icons somehow or do i have to extract them? If my question doesnt make sense ill try to clear it up. Thanks!

easiest way is desktop visualizer free app on the market.
Sent from 1.5GHz CM7 Nexus S.
ok ill give that a go. Does anyone know the path to locate the system icons? So I can choose them in the appropiate app.
Edit: Ok so i gave desktop visualizer a go and its exactly what i want. HOWEVER when i choose the messaging icon and the nthe application Go SMS it still brings up the default messaging icon instead of the the themed messaging icon. Any ideas?
Is it possible to change the icons within the App Drawer? I figured out you could just edit each .apk file when rooted, but I don't know for sure how to do that. And maybe there is just an easier method with a ROM. If the MIUI ROM would have that kind of option it would be awesome!
Also, Go Launcher EX (and probably more launchers) is capable of putting apps into folders in the app drawer. The icon of the folder is then a kind of preview of the apps within it. That is not really that bad, but it would be nice to be able to change the Go Launcher EX folder icons as well. Since there is no .apk file for the folder to change it with, I can't think of a way to do that.
In short, what I want is this: being able to create folders in the app drawer and change all icons (and also remove text beneath the icons) in the app drawer, including the folder icon.
I know, I am a nitpick, but I just want it all to match .
To change the icons in the app drawer you need to edit each and every apk file and change the innate icon therein.

Ok, so no easy way?
And about my other questions? I know it is possible to create folders in the app drawer with Go Launcher EX, but what you see isn't really an icon, it is a preview of the apps within it. And I suppose I can't change that, but it would be nice.
Or if there is another launcher/rom that can create folder in the app drawer (and then change the icon of that folder), that's OK too.
Is there a way to make the ICS green message icon open GO SMS instead of the stock app? I like the icon cause it flows with the homescreen, and the go sms one is ugly haha. Just wondering if theres a way to keep the stock sms icon but re route to open go sms? i dont really want to install a home launcher either.
Just edit the icon. Get Gosms apk and replace the icon.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows of an app which can change the icons in the app drawer? I've tried many apps but all they do is change the home screen icons. Any help on how to do this would be very much appreciated.

This function may be possible by switching to a different launcher, but I do not know which launcher would be capable of doing this. Usually the images in the drawer are read directly from the apk, and the apps which change the icons on the home screen can get around this by making a widget with the specified icon, which points to the application.
If there are only a few applications you want changed, it is possible to change them the hard way, by extracting the apk, changing the icon in the "/res/drawable-?dpi" folder, and then installing the new application by hand. (It will no longer be signed, so you will have to go to allow this in Settings > Applications > Unknown sources)
I don't think any launchers are capable of changing app drawer icons. Looks like I may have to do it the hard way

You can use go launcher which has option to change icons.. All U need is an icon pack..

Launcher pro can change app drawer icons,as can adw launcher. Just get an icon pack...or better still, make one. It's easier with launcher pro.

I'm using adw launcher and it can't change the icons. I have a really cool icon pack, and it changes the icons... but not all of them.. so everything doesn't match. On adw you can't manually change the icons of an individual app. I'll give launcher pro a go

Try LiveHome. With this launcher, you can manually change the icon and also label name of any app in appdrawer.
Cheers man. It won't recognise my icon pack though, but still, it's the first launcher I've seen that can change the app drawer icons

I finally posted in 2 forums last night, asking if anyone knew ANYway to, but still no answers at 1 &was told that only thing possible is there are some apps that change icons &let u change labels on Home screens only, at the other. I'm gonna try this right now. Thanks ALOT!!!

When i press long a Icon in the Drawer this comes direct on my Desktop, no Options , the Options are only at the Desktop!
Why ??
Nova launcher just got an update, now to change an app drawer icon (to a picture from gallery and hence a uzip, or from an apk) long press on the app icon in the draw. Drag it to the edit symbol. Click the app icon in the edit popup. Choose icon as desired!

The app drawer icon in dock can't be move and I want to be able to move it away from the dock. Is there any way on how to be able to move it. I am using Stock TW Launcher. My S6 (G920F) is rooted
DO NOT SUGGEST USING 3RD PARTY LAUNCHERS. I WANT TOUCHWIZ. I JUST WANT TO MOVE THE APP DRAWER ICON FROM THE DOCK. I HOPE THIS IS CLEAR.
Thank you in advance!

No you cant move it. It's a fix icon. But tell me: how do you wanted to access your appdrawer if you were able to remove the only botton that gives you the ability to access the appdrawer??

First, I obviously know that the icon is fixed and can't be moved. That is why I wanted to be able to move it and put it inside a folder like other app icons. With accessing the apps that I have, i am planning to put all of it in the homescreen. Basically just like the iOS that is why i do not like the app drawer icon to be there in the dock and replace it with anothet app. I hope it is clear now.
So why do you ask if you know that it is not possible? ?
Another obvious reason is app drawer icon might be far to reach while holding device in LEFT hand. Putting it dead centre is friendly to both right & left handed phone use.
