[THEME] Xtreme - V1.1 (2.1u1 devices) and V2 (2.2 devices) - Droid X Themes and Apps

First things first...I am NOT responsible for any damage done to your phone.
This is a theme based off the work of Manup456's original REVOlution theme, along with the port for the Droid X by Fabolous. It's basically the REVOlution theme, but all green has been replaced with red, and the notifications bar reads "X Notifications" rather than "EVO Notifications"

Included are Manup456's launcher pro icons and REVOlution wallpaper (edited by me to fit Xtreme).
Instructions for V1.1 (2.1u1 devices):
Extract the zip and put framework-res and services.jar on the root of your sdcard.
In a terminal emulator or (preferably) adb shell on computer, type:
Code:
su
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/services.jar /system/framework
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework
mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
reboot
Now, I present you with a full-fledged 2.2 port of this theme. Including white notification text.
DOWNLOAD
You MUST be deodexed for this. Search the forum if you need to find out how to do so.
To apply the theme, follow the same directions as above.
Thanks to jdenman03 for the deodexed nandroid.

Thanks. I will consider porting to 2.2. I personally feel that 2.2 is just too unstable/unsupported for the X at the moment, which is why i downgraded to 2.1. If i have the time i will port to 2.2 but it will take kind of long since i'll have to upgrade, port, test, and sbf+factory restore (my least favorite thing to do) to get back to 2.1. But stay tuned, i will work on it.

This is exactly what I want. I loved the REVO theme but the EVO on the notification bar and the green accents didn't fit the phone 100%. Red accents and an X will and it looks great.
Now I just need to wait for the 2.2 version.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. As of right now I am currently having issues (well mainly one issue) porting to froyo. SERVICES.JAR, my evil enemy. I cannot, for the life of me, get it deodexed. I use xultimate2.2 to deodex, it pulls all the framework and app files, but as soon as i go to deodex the apps it just says error fix it or whatever. It's reaaaallly frustrating. It won't deodex services.jar either. I have successfully deodexed the apps using another program called Deodexer, but that one fails with the services.jar too. So basically, I have it all ported but the services.jar for the white clock. Hopefully someone can help with this!

Couldnt you pull the services.jar file from the build teenfaces uploaded as he got it white? Or would that not work?

Any chance you could post the framework for those of us already with the white clock and notification?

[REQ] Droid 2 Lockscreen

Big Thanks to TouchPro and BlazedOne for attempting this!!
Has anyone tried getting the droid 2 lockscreen images onto the incredible (with vanilla lock obviously)? is it just as easy as swapping files in the droid 2 framework? and if it is does anyone have the framework-res.apk from the droid 2?
so looking in teh Droid 2 Framework-res.apk i see 2 sets of lockscreen icons first set is stock vanilla (same as droid x) second is the ones we see in image below, They have a diff naming scheme for the Droid 2 ones, so i assume it will take some xml or jar editing to make this work. (a little over my head).
edit 2: upon further investigaion i now see theres a bunch of new xml files in the droid 2 framework-res.apk that inclue things like zz_moto_keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml
i have attached the Droid 2 STOCK framework-res file.... that i pulled from the dump from LegionTHEFecalExcretion D2 sys dump located HERE for those who want to have a look
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!
Update.... created a video of the droid 2 lockscreen so you can see how it works

Easy enough; just flash the vanilla 2.2 lock screen and skin it using images from the Droid 2's framework-res.apk.

Your using framework that has been modded, so you need to make a copy of the pngs you want from the droid2 framework. Then rename the pngs to the pngs that your framework is using for the lockscreen. For the droid2 lockscreen to look real complete you should make new pngs that replace the answer call/end call pngs, etc...
thanks.
I appreciate your willing to help me, Touchpro247. Shows a lot about your character. I started doing the morph and once I started I HAD to finish, You probably know something about that, haha.

Hey Quick Question,
Any chance you could put a semi transparent background on the notifications window? so that it would look similar to CM?
Also does this update the lock screen? to replace those dumb looking black lock things?
BTW this is pretty ****ing awesome as is, sorry I forgot to say that

Yeah I did this as a favor in just a few minutes this morning. When I get home I'll patch the services.jar for the FroYo transparency fix.
I'll also look into the red buttons and such, that is probably being referenced by an xml somewhere that I have to replace from the SDK

Cool here are some screenshots of a few other things I have noticed to help you get this cleaned up
Some of the red highlights are still present such as the dialer buttons
When in a call the top notification bar goes all black and is unreadable
Some of the font colors are incorrect on the buttons when they should be black they are instead white
Here is a screenshot of the music player as you can see it has both the red highlight and the incorrect colors on the buttons
If at all possible I would also looooovvveee to see rounded corners on the notification bar
Also I just wanted to add a big thank you to you for doing this... This is awesome of you!!!!!
Thanks for your exhaustive reporting of problems!
I'll be fixing most of these issues tonight after work!
Thanks, this is awesome. Aside from the issues mentioned above, everything else seems to be pretty damn perfect. Great job.

Again, this theme is awesome. I'm very much looking forward to the bug fixes.
Probably tonight. I was running into issues getting the keypad to work. The problem is there are some "motorola only" images in the res.apk and I have to find the XML's where they are called and either remove them or point them to the proper "vanilla" xml's.
Once I figure that out it's just a matter of compiling it and releasing it!

Below is a link to a 2.1 version. It suffered from the same shortcomings as the current build of this 2.2 version. The developer did make a version with a patch which simply darkened the text boxes to make the text more readable.

I am working on the text. Been pretty busy with a lot of stuff so progress slowed for a bit. I should have a fix out soon.

No rush, man. You're doing a lot of good work and I know things get prioritized. Keep it up.
So, will this technically WORK on a 2.1 device? I like this theme's notification panel and battery a lot more. The other seems to be a tad blurry.
Got the text/dialpad working. Will put up tested files tonight or tomorrow morning!

More Batteries for status bar

It seems that a lot of people like my battery icons, every time I post a screen shot somewhere someone always asks "what battery is that?"
So...
These are MetaMorph themes and they work with the latest Sense builds. Your ROM must already have the battery percent on your ROM already for these to work.
NOTE: These have been tested on the following ROMs:
Skyraider 3.0 and above
Wes342's Super-Z
Nils Business_Sense_Desire-Z
I will do some more research and find out what other ROMs are compatable.
The ROMs above use a folder in the framework named "drawable-hdpi" some of the other ROMs use a folder named"drawable-hdpi-v4"
I am currently working on these for the Virtuous 3.1.0 Rom.
I can't express enough how important it is to do a nand backup first, you are modifying system files! Be forewarned, I can not be held responsible for anything that goes wrong.
I have had hit and miss luck with MetaMorph, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have had a couple of occasions where it has locked up my phone and I have had to restore from a backup.
Alternative method:
If you are familiar with modifying framework files you can also modify your framework-res.apk file and use adb to push it back to your phone.

I could possibly but I don't know how soon. I do this in my spare time (which I don't have a lot of).
There are 137 batteries counting the charge images so it takes a lot of time.

Hopefully you done a backup first.
I done some research and Virtuous Rom has a different framework than Skyraider 3.5 and SuperZ ROMs.
It looks like I should have done some more research before posting these.
Restore from your backup and then try this file for the WIFI, it should work for you.
LINK
Let me know if it works and I will make the battery files compatable with your ROM as well.
I will edit the original post.
Well I got it to work using ninjamorph by manually inserting the wifi pngs into the framework.apk. What I noticed about the battery pack is that your script isn.t inserting the png's into the right folder. The icons look great though good work.

You have in your instructions that they work for Sense roms but I just installed the Red mod. battery on CM6.1 so like you said metamorph is funny like that.
I can't get the wifi one to work.. running Uber Z sense rom..
Different ROMs use different framework structure.
I just checked the UberZ ROM and here is what you need to do to make it work.
Go to the theme folder and rename the "drawable-hdpi" folder to "drawable-hdpi-v4"
Then it should work.

Nice theme mate
Great work tripin Thought of posting this gingerbread port in a few days.. anyway this is cool theme.
Trip,is there a way to make "theme organizer app" for android?
Like
->Display available themes
->Preview selected theme
->Apply selected theme
Is that possible?
Im thinking of trying it, whats ur opinion?
Thanks @ bala and @ krraazzy. I had just made it for fun sake, was trying to theme GB for first time. Thought of sharing it here, though it is not complete, it looks good compared to bland look of the stock theme. But will surely try to port complete theme once we have fully working stable GB.
plz add 1 % battery mod
@sakindia, Give me some time.

Are you on gingerbread 2.3.4 or froyo 2.2.1 this theme is meant for gingerbread 2.3.4 only
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
That's a good idea bala. Do you have any plans to bring such functionality to stock rom? I had seen it on CM7.

Don't get confused, the menu background has been made white with black font colour, to make the icons visible. Xml edit is not successful yet.

Why dont you guys make use of modded recovery by skin. Alternatively, Yes method remains the same as earlier. But just see that you put the contents the way they are packed. I mean in the same of system folder as their arrangement in the ZIP using root explorer.
You have to use contents of system folder only. the Meta-Inf is for recovery update zip.

{UPDATED 10/4}[Theme]e6x3 darkerchrome for all latest roms!

Under construction. Basic themes and theme revert files for latest roms posted.
Working on individual modded apks for each rom.
Working on an icon set.
Warning: Make sure you do a nandroid backup first. (If you don't know how, do not flash!)
Flash at your own risk!
My first theme. Dark, transparent, cohesive, bad ass.
I will try my best to keep a version of each ROM as I am a flashaholic.
l will also try to update each ROM when I release a new version.
Certain ROMs lack features of others, so I will post screen shots and differences between them.
I am also putting together a separate modded apk flash-able for each rom, as not all ROMs are on same builds.
Also all themes will have a revert for the theme itself and the modded apks.

Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App now will this be for deodexed or completely stock kg6 and will we get an accurate battery with this theme?
Thanks by the way im loving gingerbread and this will make even better. and thanks for helping the community
Pushed it, but it did not seem to work, have no status bar now. tried restoring my original, but it doesn't seem to work either, lol. When I look in system/app I see the .apk, but it still says "no install" in the title. What did I do wrong here?
So now I'm stuck with no status bar or notification bar... Please help...

did you set the directory to R/W when you pushed it in? Also, try going to recovery and fixing permissions. Sometimes that works
Yes, it was r/w. I backed up the original, but when I put that back in, same result. Already ran fix permissions with no luck...
Sent from my GS4G using XDA app.
Sorry about that. Yes if you push it will make it dissapear, but a reboot always brings it back for me. Updated SystemUI.apk w/ correct one. First one didn't have black quick settings.
Anytime I have a problem theming I have always been able to push the original back w/ no problems. I don't know what's going on there. Try the updated file if your willing.
This is for deodexed.
I can make a full odexed theme or just some accurate batteries if wanted.
I'm fully deodexed kg6. But I do have the crt off animation. but that shouldn't stop the original from going back in. strange... TB pro won't even restore it..
That one did not work either... Lol

Glad it worked!
The battery icons are contained in the framework.res.apk. I haven't released it yet because I am having problems with black text on some of my black menus. Hope to have time to work on it tonight.
Hopefully I'll get my status bar back.

this icon pack looks nice especially for a grey theme, do you think you can add it to your theme?

You know part four, you come here and ask for help then go out and insult other members, even those who are generally helpful. Please learn to look past the grammar and other mistakes and just ignore them... It's what I wind up doing, plus it keeps the threads more clutter-free.
That is precisely why his ignorant self is hidden.
I wonder if the issue was because I had the crt animation off framework?
Either way, the phone is all rebuilt and back to normal.

So is it confirmed that having the crt off animation results in no notification bar?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I wouldn't say that it was confirmed. I'm not sure if those who did have success had the CRT animation or not.
I'm just going to wait until the kitchen is open again for now.
So I took a chance, and it worked. Really enjoying the new notification bar. Can't wait for the rest!
