Me and my wife both have the HTC HD2 by T-mobile and I have installed droid on both of them, well I noticed that we were having WiFi issues and come to find out both phones have the same MAC# (00:11:22:33:44:55).
is there a way to change the mac in one of my phones?

I have been reading this site through out regarding common HTC problems and came across WIFI issue with HTC.
History:
I got this linksys router and i get connected through my laptop(s) quite easily by just entering the passkey (current security is WPA-PERSONAL) also, i have been using e72 before and it uses to get connected flawlessly too.
Currenlty:
I bought this HTC desire (awesome mobile) but i am unable to connect to my home wifi. I tried connecting to another secured network and by just entering the passkey it got connected for experimenting more i tried connecting to hotspot (nexus one froyo) through open connection which worked as well quite easily. It is just my home router which is giving trouble to me on my desire whereas i tried to make it work by changing different settings and even by making it open source but all in vain.
If someone has any idea how i can get it connected to linksys with settings change (any settings which can wrk on HTC) then it will be a big relief for me as this is really not working well for me
I am having the exact same problem and I have the same setup. Our problems are eerily similar. Even I owned an E72 earlier and now the HTC Desire. Pretty sure it is something to do with the Router. I jst upgraded the firmware today to the latest build, but still having the same problem. I think its probably the hardware version of the WRT54G. The version 7 is the only one having an Atheros chip. All others have a broadcom chip.
Try changing the security settings in the router to none. I used to own the 54G router. I upgraded to the E3000. My dad has the evo and we now get wireless n service.
Hi guys, I am new to the forum. Used to have a Droid with Verizon. Yesterday I bought a Droid X fully flashed to Metro PCS. The kid showed me that the internet and picture messaging worked. We went to the market and downloaded an app to make sure that worked. He got it flashed, and then later someone else fully flashed it. We tested out a few websites just to make sure, and we weren't on wi-fi.
After a million struggles with the Metro PCS team of the Customer Service phone line, we finally got it activated.
Thing is, that it seems the 'fully' flashed disappeared. No internet, market place access, mms, etc.
Anyone know if reactivating a phone makes all these settings disappear and will I have to re-flash it? It still works with Metro, just none of the good stuff works.
If anyone can explain how to fix this or help me out in any way it'd be awesome.
Thanks,
Mike
droid x internet
hi guys does anyone knows how to get Droid x internet working ?
I have an original Droid with CM7.1 and two Nook Colors with the same CM7.1 on them. I have tried Barnacle Tether and Wireless Tether on my Droid. The only difference in the two Nooks is that one was purchased 3 months after the other. The newer one can connect and sometimes get an IP address where the older one can't even "See" the Wifi from my droid.
Can anyone suggest why this is?
I am baffled.
Thanks
Sorry, I don't have an answer, actually am looking for the very same answer. But you didn't mention a carrier. (Verizon here). Any differences in the NC hardware between the two models? CPU info maybe? Or does everything in the NC About Tablet match?
Yeah they both are the same. Very perplexing. My wife's NC has had zero fiddling with since I got it rooted. Mine is a different story tho. Maybe I really DIDN'T wipe out all the necessary files. Maybe the supplicant files are different?
I have opened a couple of threads with a similar name, but none had the same issue.
My Sensation XE, with original Sense simply won't find my wifi network that I created on my laptop.
I know, pretty common problem. But...
An old SonyEricsson connected to the same network without any problem whatsoever. My old Legend with Cyanogenmod can connect as well. A Desire S with Sense couldn't connect either.
Is it something Sense-related ?
I tried another network (under both W7 and Ubuntu), but it won't connect.
btw, internet pass-trough won't connect either.
Need more information to offer any help. Are you S-off or HTC Dev unlocked? And also what ROM are you running.
I'm not sure if this helps at all, but I think the Wi-Fi hotspot from laptops are some different server type. Like our phones use Ad-Hoc and laptop hotspot uses some different method and some phones can't detect that. I'm not sure thought, just a random thought.
