Dont pull out the card with your nails.
The card slot is spring loaded.
Just push down on the card and it should pop right out.
I've seen 99% of people on youtube PULL the dang thing! Your doing it wrong people!!!
Again, DO NOT PULL ON IT!!
thanks for the tip
I figured this out the first time I put my SD card in without reading the manual. Do I win something?

Do people not realize when they put the card in that it's spring loaded? It seemed pretty obvious to me, but I guess maybe not so much for everyone.

just so you know, if you have a lot of nandroids, you should clean it up. ie delete some of them. I think 2 nandroids is about a gig. they take up tons of space. JUST A SUGGESTION, YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS. I mean obviously if you have a 32 gig or 16 gig card, don't really need to worry about it, but they do take up space. Sorry this is crazy irrelevant.

I completely forgot about this post, sorry for placing it in the wrong area. Odd thing is when I woke up this morning, certain apps suddenly vanished. Like I use GoSMS, although the icon was on my home screen, I would get a message saying "this application is not installed" and the same with anything that wasn't originally included with the ROM. Re-installed the apps and the force closes came back. Factory reset the punk... going to see how long it lasts.

I've had this happen on my Sidekick too. I'm using Glorious Overdose version 1. It happens when I've let the battery run totally out. When it starts up after I charge the battery, stuff is just missing. Oh well. That's why we have backups.
Happened again last night, left it on the charger, nothing open and BLAMO!!!! This crashed, that crashed... digitizer went nuts, and thoughts of violence filled my mind hahahaha. Hope gb gets ported, these issues stop and the voices in my head stop.

I hear if you mix about 3 table spoons of salt into a litre of warm water and soak your phone in it for about 10 minutes then put it in the microwave on hi for 30 seconds it will remove all your dents and scratches!

Have you looked into PlastiDip? You can get it from Home Depot. It's a spray paint which dries into a rubber coating and you can easily remove it. I'd give it a shot.

Hi,
So my nexus 5 fell into swimming pool. I tried all the methods of drying up and it has been 5 days but still its not getting switched on. When I insert the charger, the battery shows 100% and when I try to power it on, the Google logo shows and then again the battery symbol keeps coming. Also, can't turn it on without putting the charger. Any idea, what all are damaged inside the phone?
um.. the whole phone? all the metal pieces, wires, curcuits, chips, etc.

after falling into a pool, yea. in only a rare case would you be able to save it. and thats only if you took the phone apart seconds after it fell into the pool, and you put those parts into and covered by rice.

I have some ideas for it. It's on my "under consideration" list. But I've never used my headset, so could take a while. What does the headset do in normal use? When not in a phone call, it doesn't do anything in any other app? When in a call, it toggles the phone?

I accidentally hit "THANKS".
You can try taking the phone apart and cleaning the parts with rubbing alcohol. Usually that will fix a water damaged phone. There are plenty of guides on YouTube on how to do so. Good luck.

Small world. I grew up in Glenview. Live in Northbrook now.
Wow this thread stayed on topic!
I have the Nex 4. (Buying the 5 this week) and mine went into the washing machine for about 1 minute until I realized it was in there.
It shut down and I thought I was f'd. But I immediately took it apart and unplugged the battery and dried everything I could physically and left it in rice 12 hours. I know that's not enough time but anyway it turned on the next day with vertical lines going up and down on boot up.
Then to my surprise after the boot up I had my phone working with all icons on all screens still in place. The problem though is the screen is now washed out. Colors are not clear and I need brightness set all the way up to see the screen.
The other problem is that when the screen times out or I turn the screen off myself, it may not turn back on. Just a faint backlit light comes on. If I keep hitting the power button to try to shut off the screen and back on, I keep getting the blank screen. One thing I found out recently is I don't have to do a battery disconnect to get things back. All I do is wait about two minutes, hit the power button and the screen turns back on. No shutdown needed.
Needless to say, I managed to fix what was almost a certain brick. It's been over a month and the phone is still going strong.
This week is definite purchasing of the 5. I can't wait.
