Hi everyone,
I have a question to ask about flashing ROM
I have Motoroi (Korean XT720), this rom sucks, quite slow and unstable.
I wanna flash another X720 ROM to my motoroi, is it impossible or unlock problem?
I have rooted my motoroi, so the next step is how to unlock or how to flash other Rom and replace of the old ROM.
Thank you so much
your bootloader is locked. isn't it? how will u flash the rom?
How can I know it is locked?
It was rooted.
I can install ROM manager, I can backup my current ROM.
To test the ROM is locked or not? Just flash the backup ROM to the current ROM, right?
I will try it...

I've flashed my Korean XT720 with a Singapore ROM, and it works. Download the ROM from the SBF thread, and RSD Lite 4.6, make sure you install the Motorola USB drivers if you haven't done it already. If RSD finds your phone, you just have to select the .sbf and press "start". Be patient and let it finish.
However, I don't think the Singapore ROM is any better, and I've re-flashed the Korean .41R release again. After booting with the Singapore ROM I could connect fine with SKT, but after I while I lost connection. Don't know what caused it, but everything worked again after flashing back the Korean ROM.
Also, from what I've read flashing another ROM with RSD Lite will not overwrite the country lock. Still haven't tried it myself though.

I don't think anyone has figured out how to unlock the bootloader yet. This only means you can't flash custom ROM:s since they aren't signed. Official ROM:s are signed, so there's no problem flashing them.

Hi, I'm not sure what cooked ROM you are referring to. I'm not aware of any cooked ROM:s for the XT720, only the official ROM:s for other markets.

So has there been more development in unlocking the bootloader, or trying to sign 3rd party ROMs? (If any)

I've searched everywhere but I cannot get the answer to whether or not I can flash any ROM on a Windows Phone with a Goldcard. I recently installed a custom ROM using one. But that was just for downgrading the SPL. Later I installed a ROM from RUU.
I want to know if I can simply use any nbh file to flash a ROM?

no you cant. The rom you used for downgrading is an Stock or signed rom NODO?! Thats the reason why it has downgraded your bootloader.
You must find for your device a device specific ROM, and you must have HSPL to flash custom ROMs.

No, it was a stock ROM.
So basically the Gold card method is only for stock ROMs?

yes, goldcard is only for stock ROMs because the *.nbh files are signed and stock.

Download this full stock firmware http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23134718111254196 then use Odin to flash, once done take the OTA and it should be fine. BTW, once upgrade to 4.3 your bootloader will be locked permanently meaning you can't flash custom firmware (rom/kernel/recovery), the only thing you can do is root with saferoot. can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758

If you still want to install custom firmware then DO NOT TAKE THE 4.3 OTA UPGRADE. If you decided to flash custom rom then after flash stock MF1, you need to unlock bootloader, root, flash recovery then flash custom rom (most custom rom already rooted so you probably don't need to root). Your phone status will be CUSTOM.

Haviing only used Odin when I initially rooted my phone a year ago, I need to ask some specifics on your instructions.
1. Do I boot the phone into Download mode when flashing?
2. Do I flash it by selecting the PDA box and selecting the file there?
3. This will make my phone basically "out of the box" and back to stock recovery, correct?
Thanks in advance.

The stock root rom is probably the most stable one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2591895 just follow the instruction on this link.
I'm trying to update to either official LP or AOSP lollipop, but trying to flash a zip with recovery just ends in errors with all the zips I've tried to flash with both clockwork and Phil Whi Touch, some zip files fail because of bad footer, some actually say "installed sucessfully" and then just reboot in to my old 4.4.4 setup.
Is this due to a locked bootloader?
I actually can flash ROMS using Sony Mobile Flasher but I've only found the 4.4.4 stock D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic GLOBAL.ftf file and not a LP version.
Any Ideas where to go from here?

wow,
OK, official lollipop does not need an unlocked bootloader but AOSP does.
Also, the official flashtool from Sony (Often called EMMA and downloaded from Sony) DEFINATELY needs an unlocked bootloader, it will not work without one.
Only the unofficial flashtool (From flashtool.net) will work to flash FTF files on both locked and unlocked bootloader.
Please provide the actual setup of your phone and show the outputs of recovery or flashtool once you try to flash
dont even try flashing any custom ROMs, youre going to end up bricking your device.
Wtf?. Please do not spread confusion here. Base your posts on facts.
Talk about scaring the users away from custom ROM's
I meant flashing custom roms (aosp: cm roms) on a locked bootloader lol.. My bad

No problem, good you explained.
I'm still confused about this. Can we do what the title says? Been searching it for a while and I can't find any answers because probably no one asked this. Thanks
Yes you can. Without root you can flash FTF,s. With root & recovery you can flash sony stock based roms. With unlocked bootloader you can flash custom kernels

Ah thanks. Always thought there would be a conflict when flashing a generic firmware on a carrier phone.
Hi I’m complete newbie , earlier I experience bootloop then I saw a blog that if I wipe data using stock recovery the problem will be solve but its not. So is there a chance that I can flash stock ROM with lock bootloader? Thanks in advance if someone will answer.

How can I flash stock rom with lock bootloader sir ? what tool should I use ? TIA sir
Xiaomi flash tool
You can't flash anything with locked bootloader, not even stock rom.
if your bootloader is locked you can't do anything. After you setup a phone you must turn on usb debugging for future purposes like your problem right now.
