Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if porting over CyanogenMod for Magic has been done before? I've seen it run on a Dream and it's really fast, and can only imagine how wonderful it'd be if it runs on a Magic .

I don't believe it has been done yet. I know once Cyan gets his Magic then we will be graced with his roms.
I'm really looking forward to that! Is he in the process of getting a Magic?
More than likely. It's been a bit since I talked to him on the Dream forums.
maybe we should take up a collection to get him one? A rootable one- say a 32A one
seriously though, if we at least put a bit of money towards it i wonder if he would start developing for us?
I'd be willing. Although not a whole lot since I now have a kid on the way.
Are all his tweaks in the boot image? or in the guts of the rom? I mean if they were in the guts we could hopefully just stick in a magic boot.img, add in wifi stuff and hopefully be good to go... but i suspect (and i wish i knew more about this) the kernel etc ar ein the boot image...

however, i'm running on my magic a rom based on cyanogen rom, and it is great

the 32A can done by yourself. just extract the necessary files from your own build u use

i've no time, i work 10-12hours every day
but when i've time, i'll work on ion.
ps: i'm reuploading the rom on megaupload, because the androidiani ftp have problems .. i'm uploading also a version for 32a, but i've no idea if it works.. if you want to test it

is this rom somehow better then Cyanogen 4.0.1 32a [update Aug 17][Merged with TheStrider's Port]??? really scare to do all the contacts all over again and again...

Well your sig show's you're using it too =P
but on a serious note, this rom is great, everything works, fast, stable, great theme to it.
I think its a great alternative to cyano's, but you are right there has been a lot of hype around his roms and for good reason.
Until recent we didn't have many 32a ports and its nice to see more these days.
ps want to update your original post with some screen shots? I bet that eye candy will draw in the folks.

what do you mean ? have you seen Sprite backup ?
yes use the sprite backup so far the best backup softwared... call, sms, apn, contacts , calls history etc can be backup ...

Bug Fixing, customizations, and security mainly. Also brings forth the possibility to get around security locks on apps and such(htc widgets) not this in particular but a source code in general.
When SenseUI Sapphire comes out it will most likely have a new kernel.
We need to request it!
This has been out for about a month and won't really help us much. The HTC kernel source tree was always available via git so HTC providing a link on their website doesn't change much.

That's not true. This code was not publicly available, eg. we did not have board-hero.c.

No. Hero flash is a plunging for the browser which, correct me if I'm wrong, relies on the HTC framework. I believe there are other libraries and quagmire that only hero have making it necessary to have a hero Rom. Just be patient. By early to mid 2010 we will have our Android flash beta. That's completely off topic but the answer nonetheless.

no worries happy new year though!
So OK we started this aria 2.2 project and we have gotten this far we are happy ^^ also with that we also ported a 2.2 legend rom which we were thinking of doing as well but after having both running we only had camera and bluetooth to fix on both xD anyway after having both running we realise we might as well stick to eclair sense there is absolutely no difference except the 2.1 sense is faster and that one is a different build number there is NO difference at all xD so we have decided to stick to 2.1 as it is much better ^^ so as of today this project is being shut down if any devs want to carry on with 2.2 be my guest but don't worry 2.1 shall continue and get faster and hopefully we will do a 2.3 when it's out gingerbread that is lol
PS: Pls don't argue about me closing the sense froyo 2.2 rom im also not happy but what I say above is true so it's more logical and the smarter option to create a better chain and better roms lol also infcat in the time i've been here must be over a year this is the first time I believe I have ever closed a thread bar the donut exception cause of a few ppl lol

set the animations to off and the setcpu to 556mhz with the new ezterry kernel and it fixes lol near enough ^^ well best we could do at the time lol I blame mikeyman77 trying to add jit and edit build.prop for over 6 hours xD

lol i took off animations but still quite unresponsive and rosie lags.
apps open fast but unstable rom a little

but its just beta 1 so a lot of fixes needed
