THis is a problem that just started today, I'm not getting any internet connectivity on my Captivate over wireless. My other wireless devices in the house are working fine, but not the Captivate.
Also, I get connectivity over 3G, but not over WiFi.
I've tried the standard reboot, any other thoughts?
and then literally just as I hit send, it starts working, with me doing nothing...

So I just rooted my phone today at my friend's house, I used his wifi just fine, no hickups. I don't have a service plan at the moment, so the only way I'm even using it is over wifi. Well when I got home, I tried connecting to my wpa2 secured network and I can't connect. What happens is the phone recognizes my network, I put in the passkey and it just sits and does nothing. I connected to it before I rooted my phone (and then this started happening once I changed some settings, but I figured it'd be a moot issue once I rooted.)
So far I can't get it to connect.
Any ideas as to what's going on?
So I have been using my Captivate now for 3 months and aside from the known GPS issues, everything else has been great.
I have configured the Captivate to recognize my home wife network and it has been connecting automatically for the past 3 months with no problems.
A few days ago it stopped finding and connecting to my network. The Captivate finds other networks in the area, but says mine is "not in range". On the flip side, I have no problem connecting to my wifi network with my iPhone, laptop, and other wireless peripherals, so it sounds like the problem lies with the phone.
I tried deleting the configuration on the phone and adding it again, but no go.
Any ideas????
The connection is not dropped anywhere: 3G stays connected on the phone and the wifi signal is strong groing from the nexus/hotspot to the laptop connected to it and is not dropped.
But after a while, the laptop starts to get no data at all from the phone (as in, it requests data but nothing comes back). The laptop is fine as it works with no problems using my home's router via wireless.
I can usually ping the nexus fine when this problem occurs, but pings to the outside do not go through, as you'd expect.
I end up having to restart the hotspot function (a phone reboot fixes it too). Does anyone know what might be the problem? Or how I could troubleshoot it?
The nexus one is running CM 7.0.3. Google did not reveal any results (or I failed to find the correct keywords)...
Hello, i have been having a curious issue with my WiFi. My Galaxy tab seems to have issues connecting to my work router. it will see it.. and sometimes try to connect but usually doesn't. The router is a Link Sys BEFW11S4. If i unplug the router and plug it back in, then the Tab will connect. Also a more recent issue is at my home ( i have Verizon FIOS w/ wireless router) i can connect fine and internet works, but when i use my Facebook app, it says no connection. A lot of the time i tether my Tab to my phone ( HTC EVO 4G) and everything always works fine.
I have read about issues with GT7 and certain routers. has anyone experienced anything like this? It sees the routers, just sometimes cannot connect to them.
I have tried removing the router and re adding it...changing the IP address..and wireless channels. Unplugging the router and pluggin back in always seems to work, at least temporarily.
Any suggestions?? Thanks!
So I bought a Xperia z1, used if it matters, and it is having this issue. When I'm done using WiFi and turn it off, the phone can't use the internet, even though the connection seems to be running (full connection bars, H+ symbol) but no data is able to move whatsoever. This doesn't occur every time though, it may as well work just fine. Yesterday I didn't use WiFi and the mobile connection worked the whole day. It also occurs sometimes when I boot the phone. Turning on/off the mobiledata or the airplanemode might work and get the connection running. Sometimes. This is frustrating as hell. I'm running android 4.4.2
Anyone?
