Try making sure that the capacitive part of the phone is lit up when you push the home button. That helps a lot for me.

Could it be you have messed with your keys?
The TouchPro has the Home key above the Send key. The T-Mobile Vario IV has the Send key above the Home key.
No idea what causes thsi and what to do about it.

sometimes i had faced that problem....using d-pad.....when i press right d-pad...it brings me to end key.....i have fuze...

Easy way? If your using tf3d, then use Diamond Tweak to set soft keys.

Nope.
And what sucks is theres no hacks to do this either. I can post a cab that will allow the side button to kill the screen. Years later and its still annoying.
This is the ONLY palm device that did this.
Supposedly it was a request by vodaphone to make the treo work similar to a regular cellphone where the end button takes you home first.
Who knows if any of that is true.
There's a registry edit to change this behavior in the 800w. Don't know if it'll work for the 750, but let me try to find the info...
EDIT: Found it.
HKLM\Software\Palm\Keyboard\
Change EndKeyAsHomeKey from 1 to 0

Lock TP without going to Home screen + bonus question

Hi,
I have a question about the default WM lock - is it possible to lock the device but keep the application that is running shown on the screen?
I use long press of the End key to lock the TP but it jumps back to Home screen after locking.
I know Gyrator has a feature that doesn't but I'm wondering if there is a simplier way to do this. Any registry tweaks can manage it?
Thanks for the reply.
PS: (this might seem stupid) Which button is the PTT button? I can see it in the Button settings menu but I can't figure out what to push to make the particular appl to run. Thx

So you want to be able to see the program running while your device is locked? I wouldn't know how to this because i just use the power button to put my device on standby.
BONUS!
If you look on the left side of your device, assuming you have an At&t HTC Fuze, the button under the volume up & down buttons and is marked "PTT" is the ptt button

Yep, exactly - I need my device locked but see the app running. But it's not the same as standby, I use my power button for that as well.
Bonus - this was indeed a stupid question I'm too embarassed to say that I own a non-branded TouchPro. That's why I couldn't find the button. Ah well, thanks for the reply.
I use AE Button Plus, and map a quick double press of the "red/hangup" button to lock screen.
I'm using the stock T-Mobile UK version of the Touch Pro (MDA Vario IV), still with TouchFlo3D enabled and this works with almost all applications, leaving the application running and on screen (but dimmed).
Hope that helps!

Disable home screen button when keyboard open??

I did some searching to see if this was possible on android and couldn't find any good info.
I am still not used to onscreen keyboards and on the One S in particular I keep hitting the home button when I type (it has happened twice since I started writing this)
Am I the only one with this problem? Does anyone know of a way to disable the home button when the keyboard is up?
Thanks

It seems like a good idea, but is probably very hard. The home button is kinda coded to work the same way always, regardless of what app is open
Yea I kinda pressed the home button too at first but just practice typing without trying to hit the home button and you should be all set, its not easy to type without pressing the home button but it takes some time to get used to...

It's damn near impossible! Been using touchscreen keyboard on different phones for years (how I miss my G1), and never had this problem...I feel like Homer trying to phone his children in that one episode of the Simpsons...."mash the keypad to continue"
Try SwiftKey keyboard, it detects where spaces go so you don't need to press space
