With [email protected] installed and running, if you leave your phone at home, you'll have no messages and phone calls missed at all!
How it works:
1. start the app and keep it running background, waiting for specific SMS commands
2. if you left your phone at home, just use another phone nearby to send a command to your phone to initiate the service (you'll get feedbacks if the function is enabled in Settings )
3. all SMSs received at home will be forwarded to the phone you want, and everyone who calls your phone will be notified the reachable number
4. you may stop the service at anytime

I think this is an usefull app, nice idea!
I have not tried it, but a suggestion:
if a specified command is received via sms, turn on data connection, wifi or network (I always have off it), and send mail to specified address that report sms and calls lost.
This is because sometimes you can have Internet access, but not a phone to redirect calls.

Thank you very much for your great suggestion! Am working on the data connection right now. Just like you mentioned, we can get logs from a data connection in the web page later

Sorry I have not understand this point:

Only now I have see that it is a paid app so... I will not try it
Furthermore I have problem with my phone and I can't install anything.
Anyway another thought, perhaps you have already done, but I have not saw, in the case excuse me: specify number of second phone in the sms command, it could be different every time and I know it only when realize that have forgot my [email protected]

currently, you have two ways of specifying the forwarding number, the first one: you can type it in Settings, it is recommended if you have two daily phones; the other way, by default, the app will take the number from which you send the commands. So, it is pretty flexible.

You cannot use xda to sell/advertise paid applications. You can provide either a lite version or a free version for the community, but under XDA rules promotion of paid software is not allowed.

oh my.. So sorry about violating the rule... should 've read the rules carefully. apology. pls lock/move/delete this thread.

Why you need Smzone?
Have you ever want to inform your family when you're on the way home while you drive? You might text message them, but its dangerous you know? And the police probably catch you and you'll lose your money to pay the ticket. Would you rather lose your money to them or do automatic messaging with Smzone?
Description for lite package *free
Send your family and friends when you almost reach a destination you want.
This is the auto SMS (Short Message System) application that will send your family and friends when you almost reach a destination you want.
Set a radius from destination and Smzone will check your location. Smzone will send sms to the phone number you have entered and automatically turn off GPS location service if there is no destination anymore.

Looks great, maybe it will be better if I can auto tweet my location to others.
I'll try now thanks
This is just what i needed..
I bought full version yesterday, and its work perfectly on my HTC/froyo, g8 work!
So does this constantly check to see if you are in the predefined coordinates? If it does, wouldn't that just eat up the battery? Maybe I just don't understand how it knows when you are in the coordinates unless it keeps checking so it knows when to send the text. Enlighten me!?
Edit:
Oh wait, I get it. You only turn it on when you need a message to be sent when going somewhere. I was thinking that it will send a message once I reach the predefined coordinate as each day passes.

SMS on TF-101G

Hi all
I just got a message from my friend that he recieved an update yesterday night from Asus for his TF-101G which he bought from taiwan. Apparently the update had a sms system, and he is able to use it to sms to a phone. not whatsapp or viber but through gsm network.
I was wondering if it is able to integrate with our wifi Transformer "rooted" with 3G dongle installed. As previously I tried to activate whatsapp, and the sms got sent over into my dongle, thus activating whatsapp. The current dongle I am using is the huawei e1550, and specs shows that there is GSM radio installed inside.
Was wondering if anyone is interested to follow up?
Thanks.

Not having a G-variant, i am lazy. I just run TexTab on my phone and ASUS, and use that for texting. Very useful as well since that gives me the same number and the thread is for view on the phones SMS app - perfect for having to go away from Tablet.
TexTab basically uses the phone via Bluetooth for texting goodness.
why not just text with google voice through wifi? It's much easier and works out of the box. Plus you can save all your texts and it syncs your conversations with your phone and web browser, which I think makes it much more useful.
Well I currently do not have access to a google voice account at the moment, was considering if sms is viable why not use it?

Give or take limitations once you go past sitting in the USA and texting other people in the USA, you can only send like 150 texts per contact within so many hours, unless it's done via forwarding through a real cellphone. From what I could tell, the Android app has the same limitation as the web interface.
I found this out because the first month my fiancee and I were texting, we exchanged almost 10,000 SMS, and still average like 7,000+ .

[APP][2.2+] Etext (SMS to Email and Back)

Hello all,
I just released a free application/service that forwards your SMS messages to e-mail addresses you define, and also sends responses back when you reply to the received e-mails (coming from your own number). Etext uses Google's Cloud 2 Device Messaging (C2DM) to notify your phone without polling every x minutes, hence the Android 2.2 requirement. It's designed so that it can actually replace the default SMS application's notifications, and to be able to reply to incoming messages from any device that's able to receive e-mail, no matter where you are.
The application is brand new on the market, so it would be great if the XDA community could give it a try. Screenshots and a more thorough description can be found on the Android Market (or should I say Google Play). Below is a link, and a QR code that you can scan on your device. If you have any questions or suggestions you can always post here or e-mail me!

Hey!
Did a quick test this and it works well Will do more tests soon.
Was wondering what the real purpose is. I mean ... wouldn't SMS be more reachable than emails given that for email a net connection is necessary, while it is not necessary for SMS?
I'll be using this to have a record of my messages in my mail and occasionally to save a wee bit on my message bills!

It bugged me that I couldn't receive SMS messages or reply to them when I was using my tablet (or any other device for that matter). That's basically why I started working on the application. It worked pretty well for myself, so I decided to implement C2DM and release it on the market. A plus is that I can now search for a name on GMail and get the text messages as well.

[TUT] Free phone number for SMS verification

Hello everyone,
In this tutorial I will explain how you can get a free phone number to use with application that require your phone number as a verification method. This method is quite handy if you do no want to give up your own mobile phone number. I was not sure where to put this tutorial as it can be used for almost every phone.
THIS IS NOT FOR SIP OR VOIP.
Step 1: Create an account at Pinger.
Go to: http://pinger.com/tfw/
Create your account with an existing email address. You will need to activate it with your e-mail.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 2: Zip Code.
You will need an US zip code because it can only supply US phone numbers. I use 47144. This is an Indiana state zip code.
Step 3: Phone number.
You will now receive a list of phone numbers for you to choose from, after this step you won't be able to choose another phone number. Once you click on Confirm, you will be logged in.
Step 4: Activate your e-mail address.
Head over to your favorite e-mail client and activate your e-mail address.
Step 5 (Optional): Installing the Pinger app.
It's possible to install the Pinger app so that you are able to receive your calls/texts and voicemails on your phone directly. As you can see here I got a voicemail from Whatsapp for my activation code.
Step 6: Sending a text or voicemail to your phone/computer.
I will be using an N900 for Whatsapp SMS verification. Please don't mind the UI. Yappari is a work in progress for the N900. I did not receive the SMS verification yet, but I did receive a voicemail with the verification code.
This way I have three devices with Whatsapp on them. N900/Ipod Touch and the Nexus 4. This could be used on many different occasions like Survey's or other SMS verfication services.
Kind regards,
Zenety
Nobody can use this? :/

Help Me - Emergency App

We are proud to launch our new Android app called 'Help Me' which has been designed specifically keeping 'WOMAN SAFETY' in mind.
The app is available on the play store at this link

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Main Features:
When in Emergency, press a single button to 'Initiate emergency'. This will send sms/emails to user's predefined emergency contacts with her GPS location details/ Google maps link.
While the emergency is in progress, user's emergency contacts can get her current location anytime by sending a simple sms (helpme_locate) to her phone.
Switches user's phone to silent mode as soon as she raises the emergency.
When anyone tries to stop the emergency, it requires a password. This is done to make sure only the user who raised the emergency can stop it.
If the user in in emergency but has got time to provide details, she can enter specific details about the situation and can even click a HIDDEN PICTURE of her surroundings from within the app. All these details are sent to the emergency contacts of the user by an Email.
If the user is abducted and her phone is taken away and switched off, whenever the phone is restarted (even with a different sim card), the app will send an sms/email to emergency contacts with current location details. All this is completely hidden and this sms will not be reflected in the user's sent messages.
While emergency is in progress, user's emergency contact can choose to receive a 20 sec audio recording from user's phone by sending an sms to user (helpme_audio <email id>). On receiving this sms, the app will silently record a 20 sec audio from user's device and send it to the specified email id.
