More Info: This is my spes cab for the HD2, I do not take any credit for it (that goes to Sébastien Carlier and Christoph Gießelink http://hp.giesselink.com/emu48.htm), I extracted the necessary files and repacked those from different exe/cab files, and have it working on my HTC HD2. It should work on all wm's and can be modified by adding different KLM scrips for different screen resolutions, you will find those and tips at http://www.hpcalc.org.
Download Instructions:
Download from: http://www.divshare.com/download/12368613-a6e and copy the cab to your sd card and install to main memory or card.
Run Emu48 and change the KLM Script to: Realistic HP48GX [WVGA]
The result should be as my screen shot.
All other scripts and info can be changeded as nessesary, to save space, delete unused rom files an scripts from emu program folder!
Enjoy!

Oh, thank you very much! it's very useful!
BTW, do you have the CASIO FX-602p emulator for HD2?

nice!!! thanks

Awesome! Still my favourite calculator ever... Now I have it on my phone! Thanks!

hp 48SX

Download the 2 attached rar files, one is the sx rom the other is different scrips I found, extract and put all the files in to the install folder of emu48, start emu48 ans press
>File >New and choose any sx skin you like, but the only problem is, that only wombat sx will fit the screen of the hd2! If we work togheter, maybe we will find a perfect skin for our screen res.

You can also try this.

I made a cab with the sx and gx rom, pluss real gx and wombat3 sx/gx script/kml.
Install and try. Should work as before stated.

Many hanks for the reply
Anyway i've already installed the cab for the 48GX, the one you've put initially.
Will i have to delete this from my HD2 and install this last one, or i just need to install the rar and zip on the emu 48 root?
Best regards

Just install the new one and then it goes automatic. It asks to take away the first and installs the next. if you want to go back again, just install the first. hmm maybe i should call them option a and b.

Thx!Nice work!

Thanks for sharing. Greatly appreciated!

How do you change the KLM Script? Thank you.

Any way you could make the ti 82,83,86,89. WVGA
It works now but its qvga and small.
Would be nice to see it WVGA.
Nice work on this tho.

My Skin based on Wombat3 for VGA
The original Wombat3 is white so i did a modification of the bmp to make it more realistic, the thing is that the caption over the buttons are barely visible, it couldn't be a problem if you know the position of the buttons.

How do you change the KLM Script? Thank you.
As requested before could someone please help with changing the KLM script
Thanks

Camera upgrade before and after pics

have successfully upgraded my MDA Compact Camera from Build 17715 to 18387 using 2 patches for camera from XDA mini ROM which are:
1- CameraWizard_O2Asia_Customize.CAB ----- only to adjust the capture size when taking contact Photo.
2- CameraWizard_WWE_B19_to_RC14.CAB
Improves indoor/dim photos/ and just overall improvement!!!
Plus, the XDA mini camera patch (cab) does not require hard-reset on a MDA Compact
Now how I did it, since T-Mobile is worthless with their none existence support, I downloaded XDA mini cabs from xda-developers and downloaded a PDF file for an I-mate SP3 device. And by luck, all this mixing and matching actually worked!!! Check out the before and after pics and “How to Install” below.

How to Install .CAB files on your i-mate™ SP3/ MDA Compact
Installation Process:
The CAB file icon may look exactly the same as the files in zip format (shown below)
but it has a different installation procedure.
The example below is a cabinet file which will install the Clubimate Email utility /patch for camera from XDA mini ROM (cab) to the
i-mate™ SP3 device/MDA Compact.
Steps to install cab file:
1. Download and save the .cab file to PC , e.g. “Clubimate_Email.cab” /patch for camera from XDA mini ROM (cab)
2. Make sure Microsoft ActiveSync (version 3.7.1 or above) is installed on your PC.
3. Connect your i-mate™/ SP3 MDA Compact to your PC via any mode (USB Cradle, Serial, IRDA,
or Bluetooth)
4. When the device is connected to the PC, click on Explore
5. A Popup explorer window will appear on PC which shows the device directory
structure.
6. Copy the file from its location by right-clicking and then select “Copy”.
7. Copy this file on any directory on device, e.g. “\Temp”:
8. Now on your i-mate SP3/MDA Compact click on “Start - > System Management -> File
Manager” Start- > File Explorer
9. Click on “\Temp” and then select “Clubimate_Email.cab” /patch for camera from XDA mini ROM (cab) and press action
button (Joy stick) Click on cab file.

Peace out X-man
I just used adobe photoshop elements 3.0 to "quick fix" it and used a noise filter. One can probably achieve the same effect using spb imageer or pocket artist. I realize that these patches do some good, but the before and after qualities of the patches seem like photoshop tricks to me. The more I think of it the more i think the hardware's the problem; compared to numerous other cmos cellphone cameras.
I have noticed that there is a white circle in the middle of my pictures...has anybody noticed the same problem?...this happens before and even after upgrade! Have tried to clean the lense...but it wasn`t this the problem...:roll:

yes, i think quite a few people have that (myself included)
upgraded to the new jam rom, and if anything my camera is even worse than before!
Only Black&White
I'm only getting black and white pictures after the upgrade.
Did I miss anything??? As the upgrade cannot be uninstalled I guess I'll have to perform a hard reset.

All you have to do is change your Camera setting click on-tools-adjust: and under Contrast, Brightness, Saturation, Hue, Sharpness. Adjust the Hue to about 5 and this will change it back to color.
That helped, although changing saturation did most of it. It's a pity I didn't write down the original (default) settings. Reset will put them back into those wild figures again.
Can you post your settings please (as a guidance to start from).
Rgds,
Andy
As for the white circle is not a hardware problem of the camera but the little plastic piece of "glass" that protects the camera creates a reflection! I removed it from my MDA Compact and although my lenses are not protected as good as they used to be from dust and scratches I dont have that circle anymore!

add Reboot to Quicklist

Hi
Is there anybody that could help me add Reboot to the Quicklist. I have a Qtek 8020 (Feeler) with a custom wm6 rom and that has the reboot option. I've tried to add:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2ABD8635-9808-4c4c-943B-8173B805FD40}\InProcServer32]
@="HTCquickList.dll"
AND:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\QuickApp]
"5"="{B7A5E609-3E46-442d-8D32-65926EDA6795}"
"4"="{69E9215B-91B0-461b-A3B6-165EBA32DAE1}"
"3"="{0D519EC6-315A-4693-AF1B-B2DA865AC1C7}"
"2"="{2ABD8635-9808-4c4c-943B-8173B805FD40}"
"1"="{6D48AB52-635C-4c6a-8508-9D32A0F07863}"
(Number 2 is the reboot option)
and also copied in HTCQuickList.dll to the windows folder. I just get a some squares as option number 2 instead of the word Reboot and it does nothing when I choose option number 2...
Could anyone please lead me in the correct path
Thanks.
Finally
I got it working by searching through the registry on the Feeler. For those of you who would like to know:
You need to add these registry settings:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2ABD8635-9808-4c4c-943B-8173B805FD40}\InProcServer32]
@="HTCquickList.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCQuickList\0]
"ResOver"="1050"
"FilePath"="reboot.exe"
"CmdLine"=""
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\ResOver]
"1050"="Reboot"
And change this one:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\QuickApp]
"5"="{B7A5E609-3E46-442d-8D32-65926EDA6795}"
"4"="{69E9215B-91B0-461b-A3B6-165EBA32DAE1}"
"3"="{0D519EC6-315A-4693-AF1B-B2DA865AC1C7}"
"2"="{2ABD8635-9808-4c4c-943B-8173B805FD40}"
"1"="{6D48AB52-635C-4c6a-8508-9D32A0F07863}"
Originally you only have four in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\QuickApp] so you will need to change the order. Number two is the reboot option.
After you've done this you need to copy HTCQuickList.dll and reboot.exe to the /windows folder.
Then you have the reboot option in QuickList as option number two
I've attached the two files you need.
Awesome, my friend!
I just love it.
Thanks a lot.

I've set it to position '3'.
Just a little question: What is the value 'ResOver' and why is it set to '1050'?
The ResOver and 1050 is where the name Reboot is set. You can put whatever you like there....
App Ready
I compiled these files into ready to install application HTC Reboot.
Just install in to the phone and you are safe from the hasle of manually puting files etc.
Installer will ask you for place of installation, whatever you will choose, it will install in phone anyway.

Excellent. Installed using your cab and changed the "Reboot" to the German translation in the registry. Works perfect. Well done guys!

Will this cab work with any Smartphone with VM6 or just with HTC phones? Some of the soft keys in my old, but reliable Tornado just aren't responding as they once did. So... I just got a Blackjack II for $80 from AT&T while I wait to see what features the next generation HTC Touch Dual or a similar form HTC Smartphone will have. I want a slim form factor HTC Smartphone with Touch Screen, Quad-Band, 3G, WiFi, GPS and with at least a 20-key keypad. In the meantime the BJII will suffice, but I'd like it to have the ability to reboot from the Quicklist as my Tornado still does.
Excelent
What an excellent little app. Thanks a lot...just what I've been looking for. :thumbsup:
I was happy to find it too, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on my TD2.
I installed the cab, checked all the registry entries and the presence of the DLL and the EXE in the Windows directory. Everything seems to be correct.
But I still have only 4 options in Quicklist, Reboot not included. It's a German WindowsMobile - could that be the problem?
hi guys. i was wondering if this reboot option can be done for my HTC Touch2 running wm 6.5? i have attached a screenshot of the quick list on it..hopefully someone can help me.

looks good frauhottelmann, looking forward to it. Curious though, i'm a big windows messenger user, would you be able to provide me with a .cab file for it if you do take it out? its the only thing i use a lot that seems like it'll be taken out.
I am sorry, I neither have a cab nor will I make one, because it's a lot of work.
For everybody else: I will not provide any cabs!!!

Hm, those are small and useful ad-ons, i would leave it.
And how about some changes in a default skin?
Fonts are to big by one size, and I'd change sliding panel a bit... (first thing - throwing away "ringtone" and "background" from the "setting" panel. I'm using Regedit just for that, and the skin keeps going back to default (don't know why)...)
And btw - as for this moment - how much free space on device?
I haven't flashed it to the Vox yet. For Java, just open your Java and look under About! The default skin would be Slide Panther , but the other Standard Skins are included as well! I guess I'll have a look at those setting pages. I saw the corresponding rgu some time ago, so it should be possible!
EDIT:I am just going to leave the stuff in, who nows when a IRDA driver for a device without IRDA is needed and it doesn't need much space!
Could you include the slim chome that has been talked about on the unlocking the windows mobile 6.1 sliding panel HomeScreen thread. I can provide you with the modifed cpr files.

What's the advantage? Smaller font? Can you install it afterwards?
EDIT: I am charging my Vox right now for a first test! If it works good I will let you beta test tomorrow! I am also thinking about releasing a new kitchen for Wm 6.1 based on Dr. G's ROM,OEM & SYS folders. But I will rewrite the *.bat s for that. So it should be easier to use the new kitchen!
It can be installed afterwards. The panels are slimmed down slightly so they don't take up as much space so allow more panel headings to be seen at once.
If you are interested in including it I'll post the relivent files for you.
Roland
Please do so, sounds good!

Software for WM6.1 (Cotula's 3.0_WWE_O1) Magician [links and recommended stuff]

This thread is applying for being sticky-ed?
*** ONLY TESTED AND RUNNING SOFTWARE, ONLY WORKING LINKS OR ATTACHED FILES, PLEASE ***
I found that the following apps make a good roundup for the new OS brought to us by Cotulla (big master of Magician )
1. Esmertec Jbed 20081203.2.1 (on this forum i think?) - since i assigned rotate screen to the tape' button it's wow all the time
2.PocketCM keyboard finger typing possible now
3. Gougele PE XnWiev Pocket it makes *.gif play in view and slideshow
4. Tascalsoft TRE and PHM regedit a better regedit?
5. Opera mini 4.2 supreme efficiency: web content compressed
6. UCWEB 6.3 works flawlessly even better than Opera Mini(tm) IMO
7. Finger menu works also (less need for the pen) but seems to mess with few registry editor menus?
8. Adobe's acrobat 2.0 for win2003 works on WM6.1
9. GoogleMaps work (direct download)
10. rlToday here is the thread awesome this small!!!

I think this thread should be renamed to "Software for WM61 Magician" .

I stand corrected, how about You?
UCWEB rocks!
I tried the UCWEB 6.3 browser and it's astonishing!
all i can add:
pheeew!
a must try!
The flash player for 2003 seems to hang the 6.1 OS - soft reset required...
Shell: Pointui Home2 (I couldn't install Manilla 2D on SD-Card, otherwise eats too much memory)
Video player: TCPMP 0.72
Audio: MortPlayer 3.31
Keyboard: Cootek Touchpal (awesome!!!)
kind thanks
I just managed to run HaRET 0.5.2 and to boot into a usable image
default.txt
Code:
set KERNEL zImage
set CMDLINE "root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 console=tty0 rootdelay=1"
[COLOR="Red"][B][I]set mtype 875[/I][/B][/COLOR]
bootlinux
beware
the 875 is doublechecked to be for magican and magician only!
there is a file:
linux/arch/arm/tools/mach-types
that provides the needed codes - who finds -finds ;-)
the code is pasted from a just run kernel-image (101% checked)
Do at own risk!

[APP] Microsoft MS reader working on HD2

Hi everybody I didn't find anything about this in other threads, so I post here the files necessary for a perfect visualization of MSreader on HD2.
install via active sync (on SD card) the file "MSreader PPC ITA.exe", it will create a "windows" folder on the card, open that folder (I don't remember if it contains or not another "MSreader" folder or only files) and copy away all the files in a folder of your choice
uninstall MSreader PPC ITA and install via active sync (on device or SD as you prefer) the file "MSreader WM 6.1.exe", it will create his own folder in your program folder, then soft reset.
go to the folder where you previously saved first installation files and copy everything in your new MSreader program folder and accept overwriting, then soft reset
You should have the reader working perfectly, in italian language and 4 font size option instead of 3.
If you want it in another language (not verified)
download the 2.4.1 version from microsoft website , install it instead of PPC ITA version and follow other steps.
It should be working in the chosen language, I'm not shure cause the PPC ITA version I attached is an older version I think..
The only bug I found is that installing the reader is disabled the pdf files preview in documents tab (tested only on ROM Artemis 9) ..so give a try and report.

EDIT: for those who use BOOKLIB to manage the library and want to open msreader directly from it I think it' necessary to install firstly the WM version of MSr on device and then simply overwrite using the PPC version. Otherwise when you try to open a .lit book via booklib it won't be able to find MSreader..
works also in landscape using an app that makes rotate the screen.
PLToggle seems the best cause works on request, autorotation is not suggested due to the long loading time of the reader.
I used AEButton plus, unfortunately has some issues with button mapping on WM 6.5.x (with WM6.5 ROM I mapped the volume buttons for MSreader page up-down -EDIT: volume button issue seems solved, see here ) but rotation option works and I mapped the start and back button for page up-down . If You make a search into this forum there are other light apps for screen rotation that can be used.
You need some patience when rotate MSreader, it needs half a minute for big files before you can manage them, because the app is reloading all the .ebo annotation file with the landscape format (same when you go back to portrait).
If someone wants to use another reader such as Freda but has a massive .lit ebook collection and doesn't want to lose it and wants something easier and faster than Calibre conversion to epub format software, there's Convert LIT a very good an fast conversion software that starting from a .lit file creates a html file with related images in a single folder named as the ebook, all you have to do is copy that folder in Freda library.
When you open Freda library you have to allow the search in subfolders and yuo'll find your new html books.. open one and you'll have it with images and hypertextual links!
thanks! nice job
EDIT:
any other bug found/solved?

it works, it is a PC installer file:
-connect your hd2 to PC using active sync
-run MSreader PPC ITA.exe on your desktop
-follow instructions on desktop and device screen
Thank you for your effort and sharing ..
I hope you can excuse me If I ask a newbie question :
why I should do all those steps ? is the application not free?

No, it's free, but microsoft abandoned this project ,so there is not a version for latest windows mobile.
installing only the WM 6.1 version on new devices gives fonts and visualization issues.
Installing as described in post #1 avoid that issues, it results a sort of improved merged version, without leaving installation files in windows folder.
