I heard there was a 32GB Card included with the thunderbolt. The 6GB card on my Droid X was only class 4, so I replaced it with a class 10. Anybody heard anything about the speed on the card included with the Thunderbolt?

A card of that capacity will more than likely be a Class 2. I can't see them putting anything more than that in the phone considering the price and that 32GB microSD card's are far from openly available as it is.

It's actually class 4. :]
From what ive seen and heard is that its not neccesarily the class that determins the speed as it is the manufacturer. Sandisk from my understanding has the fastest cards out and that is in part why you pay a premium price for them. My buddy bought a 16gb class 10 , I honestly do not remember the manufacturer, and his old 8gb class 4 sandisk is way faster according to him. He was pretty pissed after finding that out.
I have a 32 gb Sandisk (class 2) in my Inc and I store all of my music and video on it.
I even have a couple of full 2 hour videos on it. I experience no lag or any other issues with it.
I have also installed the "Let's Golf 2" app from the leaked TB RUU on it and it runs flawlessly.
The only place where the speed is any issue for me is putting large files on the card, it is slow. But once the files are there the read speed is fine.

As far as Sandisk over the last 5 years I have had 3 cards corrupt themselves and die. Usually it is within 6 months.
Since I switched to Kingston branded cards. From what I understand they are also sandisk but the batches that didn't meet standards for Sandisk themselves.
Anyway I've had this 16GB Kingston for well over a year and works faster than the Sandisk.
If any card would fail it would be running XDAndroid off the sd card like I am now.
how do you test theres cards without paying?

Whatever class it comes with will be fine for me. I just can't wait for the xtra 16gb of storage. I know for most people that 16 is plenty, but with all the roms on my 16gb card, and switching it between my fascinate and incredible plus my 5gb of music that 16gb disappears quickly. I do like having the 8gb internal of the droid x but undone ever see myself using it all until androids apps get more polished, and with polish they will grow in size very fast. I can't wait til we has a preloaded maps that can work without cell signal!!! Go tbolt!
What sdcard can you recommend 16 or 32 GB? Of course I am considering only 16GB class 10 and 32 GB class 4.
I would like to know some points of view, like if it is useful to have 32GB rather than 16, how works the phone, I mean slower or normally with 32 and so on.
Thanks for your help
Well tell me this.. are you even using 16 or even 8gb of data on your micro sd card? 32 and 16 seem overkill.
Actually I have almost full my current 8GB, you know some ROMs for emulators ,some movies etc. so maybe 16 shall be ok.

My advice is that if you can afford to pay for a good 32gb from genuine traders, then go for a 32gb. It will save you the trouble of buying a 32gb sooner than later.
I have a 32gb on both my winmo and on my DZ. Can record without crossing everything for fear of running out of space.

Be very careful if you buy from eBay. I bought a fake, but since I had paid using paypal, I got my money back.
if you're going 32gb, then I'll be assuming you'll be putting your music library in there.
I"m also in the market for a 32gb micro sd (maybe if i can get my paws on a class 10, but that's really dropping some serious money on it [atleast for me]) since my music library is at a scant 16gigs (maybe more, but i havne't checked) so I wouldn't mind 32gb so i have lots of leeway to get my stuff in there.
There is only one question here:
Music or no music?
If you have music on your phone, go for the 32GB.
If not, I'd go for the faster 16GB.
I just bought a 32GB Class 10 Patriot card for a little over $100 at Frys .
Definitely an improvement over the 16GB Class 2 I was using . Buy the best
once and never look back IMO
id say grab a kingston 8gb class 10, just got mine for 19.99 ill wait on a 32 class 10 when they're not so obscenly priced..

I have one of these too, make SURE you follow the format instructions on patriots forums otherwise the card is going to go tits up and corrupt all your data once it stores over 16GB of data. There are "issues" with newer android/wm7 phones and patriot class 10 32gb microsd cards (they admit its true). Their current workaround/fix is to format it a specific way WITHOUT LBA and with 32k clusters.
I haven't tried it yet since, I said screw it, and went back to my 16GB a-data class 6. I lost all my data on the patriot 3 times and using my phone for music is not that important.
Other people on that forum say the "fix" works though so it may benefit you to format it per the instructions if you haven't already and you are worried about data loss.
I put the 32gb patriot card in my dslite so my daughter has more games to play. She's 6 and is beyond happy with all the stuff on it now. Anyways, here are the two important threads over on patriots website for the 32gb class 10 LX card.

I didn't notice enough of a speed difference between the class 10 and class 6 on my g2 anyway. I DO, however, notice a difference in speed when I use the class 10 card on my ds lite. Certain games don't stutter or freeze with it.
Ok i have bought 32GB class 4 Kingston for some about 90USD. As i had been reading i have found the highest class 4 for 32 instead class 10 :/ so i was too fast.

Good to know, because I have an AceKard 2i and the original DS.
But if yo go to the Dev section, there is a mod to increase the cache sizes and boost read rates profoundly.

I know with some phones you can record 1080p HD video and that wouldn't go so well with a class 2. But for anything you can do on the infuse (720p video) is it good enough for recording and playback of at least 720p HD video? I've googled and searched XDA, but it's all people trying to record 9001p super-mega-ultra HD l33t hax video and who are apparently transferring huge files on a regular basis.
So like I asked, good enough for anything you can do on the Infuse? Or do I need to wait for amazon to stop being a turd and buy a class 4?
I know they recommend a class 4 for the infuse. Radio shack had 16GB class 4 for 30$ not too long ago. Its what I have, until I have the extra 80-90$ for a 32GB from best buy.

Unless you're taking the mSD card out of your phone and putting it into a card reader, a class 2 is just fine in a phone.
I've been looking around through Sprint's community forums and see that they will not be offering the 32gb option, just the 16gb. I was really hoping to upgrade my S3 with the S5, but I'm already running out of room and I would really like the option for more space. Does anyone know if there's a way to free up the usable internal space or get Android to allow apps to work better off the SD card?
Thanks
It can't be apps that are taking up all your space, buy a class 10 64 gb like I have and just move all your pictures and music on it... I never notice it being slow or non responsive for the movies or music I play off it. I preordered my s5 a few days ago and i am not going to worry about space.

There has been some hint that 32GB might be offered later in the Sprint Community at the official Sprint website. The customer care people have posted "watch the news feed for updates". In the mean time sign the petition http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/sprintgs532gb
If it even comes, it will be much later

Yesterday I wiped my s3 and loaded CM11. That freed up a ton of space, but I'm not really sure what originally took up all the space. I can only guess it was the ROM that I had before. I have always had my pictures on my SD card and don't take video.
I just bought a 64gb SD card and that could help. I would like to have the onboard memory, though.

The S5 also supports new 128 GB micro-SDs. Pretty awesome, I think. I don't know if app2sd is still supported, though.

however, if you want the "extreme" or "extreme plus" micro SD card from sandisc, the biggest is 64gb that is available currently

And anyway, it's just a pipe dream for me, because I can't afford the fast 64, let alone a slow 128.
I have the extreme plus version and it's amazingly fast. Gallery loads in an instant versus the ultra model

Just wanted to know if anyone is using a 128GB micro sd /xd card with the s5
if so have you had any issues? are you rooted? do you have an ext4 partition?
Im thinking of getting one this week using a 28GB ext4 partition and 100GB of extra storage and copying / expanding the partitions I have on my current 64GB variant
I'm using one, with no problems

Using a cheap eBay 128gig got it for $30 works great pictures load a tad slow but not bad for the price
Oh didn't know the S5 supported SD cards that large.
I'd be very very surprised if that's really 128GB.
I would soak test it before you put data on above about 4-8GB. I would also have a good close look at the partition table.
Just speaking from experience unless that's a second user one that's about a half to a third of the best prices out there.

Using top dollar sandisk 128gb card. works flawlessly. no issues at all. wish I could figure out how to get burst photos to go straight to card.
This is the card I'm using. Been running it for a few months with no problems whatsoever.
128 Gb works just fine. It's class 10 sdcard. No issues. Unrooted+rooted.
Tried this card on a lg g pro 2 though. There i had a lot of problems.
I thought the S5 could only handle 64GB memory cards? I'm using a 64GB sandisk one and it works perfectly! In my opinion thats more than enough and I got it at a good price :fingers-crossed:

Adata 128gb sdhc??
so this is the card that I bought off ebay. Ebay you say...... well its a huge piece of ****. to start it is a fake, found that out when I started to write to it and after it reached around 8GB it started to overwrite what was already there! SD card test app confirmed it. check before you buy, some fakes can be identified easily. below is what ADATA replied to me when I had asked them WTF was wrong my damn card. like it mentions below, check the manufacturers website for any pictures of the cards and related packaging and descriptions. bottom line is you get what you pay for. A $20 card is far from a $100. for me the card was cheap so I was willing to risk it, but I saw some Samsung cards as high as $80 and they were also fakes. Ill wait for the price to go down, and get it from a local reputable retailer.
Thank you for contacting ADATA.
You mentioned that you have a 128GB MicroSDHC memory card. However, ADATA has not manufactured any MicroSD memory cards that has exceeded the capacity of 64GB (please visit the following link to our current memory card product offerings):
http://www.adata.com/index.php?action=product&cid=7&lan=en&cid1=3
Also, MicroSD memory cards with capacities of 64GB and above are categorized as MicroSDXC, not MicroSDHC.
There’s a suspicion that you might have purchased a counterfeit product. To verify, please compare your item against the product images we have listed on our web pages. We could assist you with identifying the product as well if you could send us images of your product.
no, i haven't fill up my 16 gb internal yet :v
Using 128GB Class 10 on my Verizon S5 and have no issues at all.
Biggest problem I had was transferring files from previous 32GB to the 128GB (A lot of files, took a while).
I am also rooted and I have to say being rooted is better with the bigger (or any) SD card that way you can use the SDFix app and allow file browsers to write to SD.
I'm using a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB card for now but will jump to 128 GB sooner rather than later since it seems everyone has had good luck with using legit cards. I'm kind of waiting for a sub-$100 deal, though.
Anyone find any discounted 128gb SD cards on Amazon or anything?

It should just work, storage is storage. I am not sure what in the software, memory IO, or processors would make much of a difference. My 64GB samsung Class10 card works in the oldest of old devices that I have as far as android phones go, no problem. Even back in the android 2.3 OS. My Mifi hotspot even accepts and shares my 64gb sd cards' contents over DLNA.
I bought 128 micro sd adata and I have one problem whit videos, when I copy or move any video from my internal memory to micro sd that videos don't play on my s5 video player. Anyone has solution for this problem??
