something weird happening after doing apps to SD

Ok so i have the JF 1.5 build and i just did the New easier, more reliable apps to SD setup. My phone ended up having to be wiped because of something else so i had to start from scratch, but now the bouncing rotate effect will not work at all. I have it enabled, but still nothing happens. does anyone have any suggestions?
It doesn't auto rotate on HOME screen. Settings, browsers, market, gallery..etc. auto rotate works fine
mine stopped auto rotating on all of them. Also, auto rotate did work on the home screen before i had to wipe my phone
i used to be able to do messaging in horizontal mode using the full onscreen keyboard, but not anymore

Did you enable it? In the new build it's disabled by default. try pressing menu at the home screen and going to settings->sound and display and make sure the orientation checkbox is checked
Marcus, your the freakin man!!!! I totally forgot about that one. I only switched it in Spareparts app. thanks a ton man
phone seems to be all good now

Auto rotate stopped working

Using stock rom, auto-rotate just quit working.
Looked for a setting but nothing seems to help.
Any ideas? Did my accelerometer just die? I will find one of those games that uses it and see if the game detects movement of the device but other than that, I am clueless.
you should consider doing that first and posting your results after
Accelerometer is working at least in the games, just proved that. Still no joy with apps like Dolphin Browser. For example, in Dolphin I went into settings and checked the "Auto" selection under "Orientation" but it just stays portrait no matter which way I tilt the device. If I check Landscape within Dolphin it does keep the browser landscape all the time but that's not really what I am after. Any help would be appreciated. Thnx

Is auto rotate checked under settings>display?

Doh! I kept looking at the settings over and over and going into the Motion section but none of that made sense. I just didn't think to go into Display. Wow, I feel like an idiot..
Fixed!
Now the question is, who/why was it unchecked? I didn't uncheck it. Oh well, problem solved.
Thanks!

Any way to get auto-rotate and wifi in the taskbar?

I would love an option to quickly enable and disable auto-rotate and wifi by just swiping down the taskbar like I could with my S4. I've been using a screen rotation app that works well enough. In some ways better actually. Would still love to quickly enable and disable wifi though.

[Request] App that emulates power button

Could anyone develop an app that reproduces the power button's function? I really would like to turn off the screen WITHOUT locking the device and turning off the "smart lock" function. I have already tried almost 20 apps and even with tasker, without success. I don't know what to do..
This will be useful for all who want to use "smart lock" feature integrated by Google, like trusted devices and places, face recognition, physical contact.
These are automatically disabled if you use any of the app/widget that "locks the screen".
I'm kindly asking someone who knows how to make a simple app on Android :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance!
@TheArt. try secure settings with tasker.
Hi Thahim, I already tried that plugin with no success, there is no option like "turn off the screen" in secure settings.
Did you tried LMT Launcher and input the Arbitrary Key for the Power Button? If works for me, since I'm using it as of now...
:good:
Seems very interesting, i'll try later!

Can you explain it step by step? Because I don't know what to write in the menu "arbitrary key" . and I see there is no "double tap" gesture which I would like to use.

I tried that app several times, but it behaves like the other apps on the play store.
I managed it with LMT ! The only thing that could be better is that there is no "double tap" gesture in LMT, i'm using the X gesture right now.

Cannot use fingerprint to unlock after using screen off app

Hi there,
I tried to use screen off apps on my SS S8, but when unlocking, it requested PIN numbers instead of using the fingerprint.
The fingerprint only works if we lock screen using the physical button or after timeout.
Do you happen to know any workaround for this?
I read a thread on S7, suggesting using Nova launcher with Screen Lock widget. But, is there any setting we can change to use other apps?
Many thanks,
Nghia
That's general security setting of Android. Happens to me on my OnePlus 3 when it's locked by Greenify. Simply ditch those lock screen apps.

hello,
it is a know issue, try Double Tap to Turn Off, will solve this problem, I am using it and I can use iris, fingerprint, face and of course PIN.

I use nova launcher plus lock screen to double tap gesture. Works fine.
How do u set it up in Nova?
Figured it out, nevermind. At first I thought it was built into Nova, but found the app and set it up. Thx
I was wondering if there are other apps can fix this as well.
Many thanks!

Just tried it, it'd still require me to enter my pin afterwards.

mine is working good, I have set to lock with icon and is perfect, more accurate than double tap.
try to check option menu and play a bit with, if is working for me there is no meaning why it is not working for you!

Played around with that app a little more, you actually need to enable that "show clear view" option, what it does is it would show the time on the screen for about one second before showing the AOD screen.

Use "softkey edge" which is a edge app works perfect. U can use iris or fingerprint after lock the phone using this edge app. Also it do not use device admin access..
You can download from galaxy apps and not avail in play store
OFF+ app work!
I have same issue with Samsung S8. Finally I found app called "OFF+". Just need to change screen off type to delay mode in app. Work perfectly. No issue with fingerprint! :good:

Do you have a link to this app?
This one works for me:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gr.ictpro.jsalatas.screenoff
I tried those other ones and did not have luck.. either the app did allow fingerprint but did not turn the screen off in a reliable way.. or they required pin / password to unlock..
but just found this one and it works so far!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redmanit.lockscreen
If this is still a question for anyone:
With nova launcher, you need to give it accessebility permission and choose in the nova settings to use a different lock screen method
The setting can be found in the nova settings by scrolling all the way down and choosing the last option in the advanced settings... Each option has an explanation for how it lockes the screen
