One thing I would like to see is some kind of identification as to when ROMs are released. I have been having a hard time following which ROM for who is the newest.
So, I'd like to ask ROM cookers, PLEASE add a date to your release notification subject. Like Helmi 2.02.20070207 or PDAViet 2.10.2 2007-02-26.
I installed Helmi's first WM6 ROM some time ago, and I have to say I'm happy with it for the most part. But I also have to say that the reason I haven't tried anyone others is lack of a coherent structure for finding the latest releases by date.

Now, I'm hoping someone can point out what I'm doing wrong.
When I try and do a forum search, no matter what I search for, I never get any results. Ever. NADA. Can someone please tell me why?

So far Jwright is the best rom on this forum. There are no major hangs and no resets required. have been using it for almost 2 weeks , have had no failure. I would repeat an excellet rom. Cheers to Jwright as always.

Suggestion to the moderators:
Perhaps there can be a sub-forum for threads that are dedicated to new WM6 ROM's - that way they are easy to find and won't get buried in people asking how to resurrect their bricked Uni's, etc.
JW's sucks. for losers who don't know how to enter bootloader by pressing 3 buttons or what the Install**** is.
The real rock-solid ("heavy metal" ) type ROM is DarkForce. The only one i liked for professional compile. No lockups whatsoever since the posting date comparing to all other non-official WM5-WM6 roms out there by some noobs (Sorry Ivan you too )

I try every ROM that is being posted, but always go back to Darkforce.

I don't agree with this kind of posts: don't like, don't use, simple and plain. do better if you can.
I wonder I use JW 2.01.08 and don't have such big problems, I would say problems at all. Since the release and instalation, 2 freezes, yesterday and today: receive a call with wall charge connected.
I'm looking at http://3ppc.net/index.php?showtopic=2089 and I see that Remember ported it to our wizard but it's in russian!
I can also say that he's currently porting 5.2.1620...
So the question is anyone working on WWE build?

About that rom:
It is build on the XIP/imgfs of 1437..
Regarding the XIP, it's the old XIP, so the new kerneldll.dll hasn't been used (that is why the OS version shows 5.2.1437, and it's causing some other problems too)
Also the drivers are not rebased for this 5.2.1620 ROM, that will be causing some more errors..
So in short, it's the "old" 1437 wrapper with the new SYS package inside.
But the wrapper will cause some problems..
The original 18125 (that IS the 5.2.1620 ) has a lot of bugfixes, would be nice to see a real port.
My advice is to wait till a propper Chef ports the XIP, the Rom and did a full rebase of the drivers.

...so ..how to edit the build in the imgfs ?
I understand that's in the cplmain ...

That is why the build is wrong, I made a 1620 xip (Version 5.5.5.555 so as not to offend lol) which you are welcome to use if you give credit.
I dont particularly fancy explaining how to change the rom version (date is easy enough) since it involves some basic understanding of ARM assembly.

you caught me lol . I tried to follow all steps .... but it appears that i missed something between the lines....
I am not an assembly guy ... i prefer things i can see easy how they're engine is working. Well, not too easy ...that would be dull
I am lazy ...i'll just go with this build ... hacked and slashed as is. Besides exams are closer than i'd want them to be

first of all i did not cook this rom, i downloaded from oiopda it a the lastes rom build form 6.5 full WWE(english)
first impression this rom is fast very god like fast and stable, this is by far the fastest rom iv seen of 6.5 for the tornado. so yea enjoy guys

This ROM is very quick!! But many functions are still chinese. The icons are great. But I cannot access the T9 menu when composing SMS. Only writing numbers. How can I access it?

and the apps that are nto translated are quite uslesss, the primary important stuff is in full english plus i like the font, and above all the speed of the rom is unreal
Yes, this rom is fastest then all.
Only it need to rebuild: chinese font, apps and lockscreen (total >5MB) will be removed and XT9 preinstalled.

download zip archive in attached, extract zip and files which are in folder OEMET9 copy to device to folder Windows and .rgu file import via program CeRegEditor and do softreset. After SR writing letters working .
OEMT9, same as above, but with english, russian, french and german languages.

i appreciate the effort for converting to WWE but has a lot of work to be done compared to this release.

I've been searching for a german 6.5 Rom based on the RTM build for a couple of days now. I found some german 6.5 here, but according to the description it was a quite buggy one.
Can someone recommend me a stable german 6.5RTM Rom?
i´m running the latest wm 6.5 21725 beta rom from martie, that i don´t want to share without asking him, but unfortunately i haven´t heard anything from him since he posted the preview of his rom... so we´ll have to wait for martie releasing the rom and wait a little more for a rtm...
