New WM6 ROM Versions

One thing I would like to see is some kind of identification as to when ROMs are released. I have been having a hard time following which ROM for who is the newest.
So, I'd like to ask ROM cookers, PLEASE add a date to your release notification subject. Like Helmi 2.02.20070207 or PDAViet 2.10.2 2007-02-26.
I installed Helmi's first WM6 ROM some time ago, and I have to say I'm happy with it for the most part. But I also have to say that the reason I haven't tried anyone others is lack of a coherent structure for finding the latest releases by date.

When I try and do a forum search, no matter what I search for, I never get any results. Ever. NADA. Can someone please tell me why?

So far Jwright is the best rom on this forum. There are no major hangs and no resets required. have been using it for almost 2 weeks , have had no failure. I would repeat an excellet rom. Cheers to Jwright as always.

Suggestion to the moderators:
Perhaps there can be a sub-forum for threads that are dedicated to new WM6 ROM's - that way they are easy to find and won't get buried in people asking how to resurrect their bricked Uni's, etc.

JW's sucks. for losers who don't know how to enter bootloader by pressing 3 buttons or what the Install**** is.
The real rock-solid ("heavy metal" ) type ROM is DarkForce. The only one i liked for professional compile. No lockups whatsoever since the posting date comparing to all other non-official WM5-WM6 roms out there by some noobs (Sorry Ivan you too )

I try every ROM that is being posted, but always go back to Darkforce.

I don't agree with this kind of posts: don't like, don't use, simple and plain. do better if you can.
I wonder I use JW 2.01.08 and don't have such big problems, I would say problems at all. Since the release and instalation, 2 freezes, yesterday and today: receive a call with wall charge connected.

Anyway...i'd like to know how to change the build number. I ported XIP over my old CORE 2.0n and i see
OS 5.2.1620 (Build 15341.2.0.0)
...so ..how to edit the build in the imgfs ?
I understand that's in the cplmain ...
Also interested in the ROM version and date too...mine looks old

Sorry - never thought of that scenario, Anichillus. Perhaps you could speak to Molski - he'd probably know. Else I think that Wiki reference is the only documentation you'll find.

That is why the build is wrong, I made a 1620 xip (Version 5.5.5.555 so as not to offend lol) which you are welcome to use if you give credit.
I dont particularly fancy explaining how to change the rom version (date is easy enough) since it involves some basic understanding of ARM assembly.

you caught me lol . I tried to follow all steps .... but it appears that i missed something between the lines....
I am not an assembly guy ... i prefer things i can see easy how they're engine is working. Well, not too easy ...that would be dull
I am lazy ...i'll just go with this build ... hacked and slashed as is. Besides exams are closer than i'd want them to be

@whiterat: Are you planning on releasing XIP and a ROM for kitchen fodder? Would be nice to see

Hi everyone I got my Kaiser 3 days ago and I've been reading and sending pm to some people then reading some more and I now have my first cooked rom on my kaiser
I still need to figure out how to port the xip but for now I have a rom 0s 5.2.1620(build 18533) so it's a new build but the xip is not realy new
I still need to make some changes to the oem stuff
anyway just liked to share this news as some of you might know me from the prophet forum.

it's still to early to tell but I'm trying to make it work but in this flash I did not get it working.
edit I just tried and I can launch all sides of the cube using it's shortcuts no black screen as on some devices

Does the "Change page pool by paradis_pal / Chopin" link in your sig work on the Kaiser?

I will go through all apps and see what is needed and whats not.
unfurtunaly the cube is not an easy task to get working. So I'll remove it for next beta so I can test some other apps insted.
I'll also post some screenshots and more info on what is in the rom

My test rom second try

this is a test rom and should only be flashed by people that know how to recover from Bootloader
Last try did not work so I try one more time
I did not have WinCENLS_WWE in the last rom so therefor it could not boot.
I do not have a Herald so this rom is not tested I only use the knowlage I have from other devices to build this rom
If you don't know how to recover don't flash this unless someone has confiremed that it is working
I'm just uploading the beta of the WWE version
It will be in ENG, ESN, FRA, GER, ITA, NLD, PTG, DAN, NOR, PLK and RUS but only if this one will work ofcause
Please remember that it's a beta.
Anyway please test it and see if something is not working.
ThrottleLauncer is not in this version because the version I'm using is still in development (So it like a clean rom but not totaly clean)
what you will not find in the rom and will not be added to the rom is

Do you recomend flashing the RUU before flashing this one or should it work as is? I'm currently using itje's TouchIt. Also it's not good idea to flash this one from Vista, right...

I do not have a herald so it new to me but I've tried to use the same method as I've used for cooking for kaiser, Elf, Nike and Prophet but I only I had a device I could figur out how to flash.
I don't even know what spl and unlocking needs to be done before flashing.
but with my kaiser and Elf I could flash them with my own roms within 2 days after getting them.

On this great rom? I look forward to any new rom by itje or gullum. I currently run diamond v1 on my kaiser and was hoping for a similar port for my wife's herald.

I'm happy to tell you that my Herald has come to the post office and needs to be run through tax office before I can get it.... but that shouldn't take to long and I can begin cooking Herald roms too

on my Kaiser I'm working on 20273 but it's giving me some problems but I'll see if I can figure them out or I'll go back to 19214 witch is the best build I've used

at the moment there is not much going. on. the big change was the diamond comming out. but now?? nothings happening

yeah, but somehow we still get new builds with alarming frequency somehow. It's like we're pulling them out of our collective *sses.

got my Herald today did hard SPL so I'll start cooking and testing tonight.
I have a Kaiser too but after playing around with the original shiped rom and now the pdaviet that comes with Hard SPL I come to the conclusion that it's way better then Kaiser.
EDIT:
I finaly got my rom too boot after many many flashes.. now I will use the rom during tomorrow to see how it works before uploading the WWE test version

I just want to know if anybody heard anything on WM6.5 and if it will be released for kaiser phones?

I know for sure that the Blackstone build (20757) is the same build as WM 6.1.4

wow, to think MS was mad about just little bits and pieces of the 6.5 Kernel that are supposedly in 21109 supposedly according to some stuff i saw concerning PPCGeeks.
a whole 6.5 beta ROM? MS isn't going to be happy about that being released to the world. I wonder if he removed the timebomb they like to stick in with beta releases...

Actualy at PPCGEEKS was 21014 not 21109.
We are monitored by MS and nobody wanted us to remove nothing yet SO .... ?
The BA 6.5 ROM is the same as my 21014 compared modules so dont worry there is no WM6.5 released yet .
And if they were WM6.5 the first to get it will be again xbeta.cn --- after that xda-dev's

what MS should do i give us the kernel and the all the programs and we will compile the roms for them
at list they will have tons of free testers

21109 is actually a bit speedier it seems even than 04, with or without the supposed kernel inclusions.
