Hey all, originally this was inside the super circle thread, but I dont want to inadvertently hijack the thread, so I decided to make it easier by just starting this one.
Here are four morphs: Two for users with dark notification bars (one for Kang, one for CM6), and two for users with light bars (also for Kang and CM6). Also you may choose to apply my Low Battery Warning image, which isnt included in either of the circle battery zips.
How it works: The circle has changed to show only one color at a time. It will show green until 40%, at which point the illuminated parts will turn yellow. 20% gets orange, 10% red. 0% gets full red circle. As the colored bar runs down an empty container takes its place.
**INSTALL WITH METAMORPH** not sure what happens if you try to flash this in recovery, but I figure it cant be good. So make sure to install metamorph, and install through it.Usual disclaimer applies, not responsible for your phone exploding, crashing, committing suicide or any other problems that may be caused by installing this on your system.
If you are experiencing issues with metamorph hanging while trying to install, make sure you have usb debugging turned on in your system settings.
If you like this Donate here to help out an unemployed designer!pretty please?
===============================UPDATE 8/12====================================
***KANG USERS (and others try this zip first): Please use the centered versions. If you use the shifted version the battery percentage text will not be centered correctly.
***CM6 USERS: You need to use the shifted version of the zip for the text to correctly align.
As I stated in the other thread, I installed it on Kang-o-Rama 0.9 (FRF91) SP3 with no problems so far, no FC's, nothing. Works like a charm.
Edit: Where can I find the battery percentage mod? There was a thread a while back with it, but I cant find it. Damnit, and I refuse to upgrade to CM6 while in RC state.

thx for the heads up. will include in op.
Is there a way to move it over to the left some? I found the battery percentage thread and applied the services.jar however my battery said 82 but half the 8 was on the side of the circle. :/ it needs to be moved to the left for me like 1mm

This seems to be happening a lot. Each time I design a new battery icon theme to match one rom's battery % mod, someone else's comes out (cm) and has the battery % in a slightly different place and slightly different size. Maybe they do this to keep us themers on our toes
Sorry to say but my solution in the past has been to just make different versions of the battery themes for the specific roms. It's a crappy solution but I have yet to figure out how to control that size and position of the battery % display.
Edit: Forgot to say this battery theme is awesome, thanks for your work tr.slate

yeah, i had to move the position to the right so the battery percentages in cm6 would line up correctly. tommorrow ill flash kang and get one out for you guys. or today i guess, not tommorrow. too tired. time for my brain to recharge.
Awesome, but remember kang doesn't include a battery percent. You have to changed your service.jar with the one posted in the thread, battery percent for status bar frf 91 I believe his user name is crimsondr or something like that. Line it up with that then we have money

What color are you looking for in particular? I did make a version for dark bars, did you try that one? If so was there a problem with it? Let me know and I'll do my best to get you what you're looking for.
Right now going to flash Kang and get those percentages lined up. I hope i can push that modified service.jar correctly, as I will have to use root explorer or terminal. I dont have the ability to use adb. So if anyone could post a screenshot of how it looks currently on Kang w/percentages, just in case I cant get it to push correctly, that would be great. Im going with Kang 1.0 b2 cm6rc2. Thats the one everyone is looking for, yeah? with the modded service.jar.....
Let me get home and I'll try and get a screen shot. But seriously just put the percentage up there and its in the middle of the 8, like .8mm over and it would rock.
Ok, so i flashed Kang, and tried to apply the service.jar hack with ninjamorph, but was unable to get it going.
So I really need a screenshot from one of you Kang lovers out there to complete a copy of the circle battery just for you guys. Once someone posts, it should go very quickly.
Down load the white battery percentage in that thread I posted, remove the .zip, make a back up of your stock services.jar file. Then using root explorer paste it in the system/framework then using root explorer change permissions, then reboot
Got a screenshot for ya. Had to get home to the laptop, somethings are just easier on computer lol.
AWESOME, thx for the shot. Nice wallpaper too, what city is that?
Anywho, it looks like the issue is that the Kang rom's just need the "normal" (ie-the non-shifted version that i did to center in CM), should be out very soon.
does this work with enomther's rom?

Yup, you should be fine with a nightly as the path to the images stays the same. If you find it doesnt work for some reason, pm me and ill check it out.
Just be sure to do a data/cache wipe including dalvik cache before you flash your new rom. If you dont metamorph will hangup and act real funky.

I've taken the liberty of creating a ~50% shaded status bar as well as a fully transparent one. This has been compiled with Jercik's Smooth Sense icons and Xeudoxus' shaded notifcation background, of which i obviously take no credit for either of those modifications and would also like to thank both of them for their creations. I believe everyone should give them a hearty thank you as well.
EDIT: BIG thanks to yojoe600 for the edited services.jar with no location AND transparent status background. all zips have been updated with it, meaning no more location icon in status bar.
As with anything, do a nandroid just in case something goes wrong.
Anyways, here's a few shots of the bars:

some light bugs:
after installing the zip and booting up for first time, widgets may be doubled over themselves. just remove them and put them back up again, issue is fixed.
when debugging is enabled, upon connecting to pc through usb, weather info on the stock weather widget will disappear. just flick to a different homescreen and back, it will fix.
If any other bugs are found, please post it so i can see if i can fix it.

Yea text is still white. I think the text color is handled by a .jar file or xml, which i dont know how to edit yet. But im getting ready to learn java development so hopefully soon i will.

yea, i tried flashing the noloc.zip over this, but the shaded notification background (the background for when you pull down the status bar, not the bar itself) is a services.jar edit which is packed in with this zip. unfortunately the no location mod is also a services.jar edit, meaning one will replace the other when flashed. and i dont know how to edit .jars yet, so i could ask pmf if he'd be willing to show me what he edited in the .jar to remove the icon and see if i could add it in as well. i'll let you know when/if this happens.
until then, if you still want to remove the location icon, you can still flash pmf's zip to get rid of it, youll just possibly lose the shaded notification background at worst. it shouldnt change anything else.

Can this be flash to Tmobile.? I know it a dum question but I want to know.
Im pretty sure this wont work for vzw tab...poked around in the files, most of the changed images are in framework/res/hdpi-v4. The path on vzw tab is framework/res/hdpi. Anyway,it was enough to scare me off. Could you tell me where those 1% increments are? Im thinking maybe battery-status.xml?I wanna pull the control file and the png's and push em into framework. Tia.
Screenshots? Also, the -v4 just means it's been decompiled.
Guys guys guys... -v4 is ok... Will work fine! lol
I am sure the framework is the same across the board. Nothing is really any different than any other 2.2 devices. No special renaming. The battery mod is a change in the battery and battery charging xml file. Instead of a img matched to a value every 20% (stock) this will display an img for every value. 205 or 125 images. In the Glass theme I have an img for every value for charging as well so it has 205 images. If you are at 22%, it will say 22% in the battery Icon. AND... This will not drain your battery any faster. This is a active Battery % Display for the Stock Icon.
Soon I will have a full Battery Mod thread with a ton of different Icons and the xmls for those who wanna use it. : )
I'm using Glass with the Magic Smoke Live Wallpaper, Looks so awesome. You must check it out. I have pics already but I'll post more and a video.

I have also now added 10 Batt Mods for everyone. More to come soon!
Enjoy!!
The battery mods, particularly Mod #2, are nice. If I apply the images via MM into the drawable-hdpi folder, predictably it only picks up the twenty percent level ones. If I add the two XML files to the MM in the drawable folder (I used the 125 version) none of the images show up. I'm familiar with basic image replacement, but not with replacing the XML files. Is this something that would require an update.zip rather than MM?

Sorry man, I only have a sprint tab. I'll look into it more, Maybe I'll build it from each framework to make it work for all.
Nah, I was using Metamorph, which works fine for the PNGs, but somehow when it replaces the XML files in the drawables directory the battery status stops showing up altogether. I didn't have a lot of time to experiment though, so I wound up just restoring from nandroid backup. I know it must be replacing the right files, because if I run Metamorph without the XML files it perfectly places the new images, and the notification bar picks it up for the existing battery increments. If I add the XML files it winds up with a blank area where the battery status go. I'm assuming it's one of three things: MM having trouble replacing the XML files and busting something; or there's something specific to the VZW version that doesn't like one or more elments in the XML; somewhere along the lines of pulling the two XML files out of your .zip and putting them in the new .zip changed some kind of formatting (DOS v Unix linebreaks, dunno). At any rate, I can use the images easily for the 0,10,15,20,40... increments, but can't easily update the XML files with MM at the moment. I might look into doing an update.zip.
The reason I'd prefer MM for just picking up changes like battery status images, is that I don't have to worry about the framework matching, it'll just replace the files in my existing framework, so it's usually quick and dirty.
Can you see if we can get a Sprint Only Galaxy Tab Forum
Since you are a developer, Can you PLEASE look into getting the Sprint Galaxy Tab its own spot? All this Euro AT&T TMobile Galaxy Tab stuff is getting on my nerves. They need a GSM Only and a CDMA Only Tab Forum. It's too damn confusing. Appreciate it! Thx
Hi
I watched the video of the theme and at the begining you touch the upper left corner of the screen to wake up the tab. I am new to android phones and it is maybe stupid question but how to do it without pressing power-on button?

not sure if its able to be done, but the "deathray/high brightness" mode on torch.apk doesnt work. i got so used to the REALLY bright led flashlight, now the normal one looks dull.
4x5 Gingerbread Rosies
Rotary lockscreen with controls
Myself and the 5-6 people I am updating phones for would really like a theme for 2.2 that looks just like 1.1. 1.1 is perfect.
Working Voicemail indicator - Flashable
Multi-Color Smooth Sense Circle battery - flashable
Location to see signal strength in the ROM?
Rosie remap function not working via Rosie Settings
Great ROM - thanks for building, maintaining, and for the tremendous support!
RNDIS support
Any chance you could include RNDIS support so wired tether will work?
I've tried other kernels but they don't boot (kings in particular)
Right now using the 2.20 install defaults I don't have either the usb or rndis directories:
/sys/devices/virtual/net/usb0/enable
or
/sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/rndis/enable
I know wifi tether is all the hotness, but it's not as reliable as wired tether and I prefer wired (some of my equipment doesn't have wifi capabilities)
I'm a huge fan of the circle batteries. I like jdban's idea of the battery matching the other green icons (Wifi, Signal, etc) anyway you could make something like this http://androidforums.com/incredible-...rcentages.html with the actual percentage (1-99) in the middle and matching green color like the other icons? I think it would look sick! I usually don't like green colors on the Inc but I really dig the look of this and think adding to it will only increase it's freshness.
You know what else I think would look sick? The vanilla lockscreen from Warm (Black buttons with white highlights and no tabs) instead of the white, though make it the same color green that the wifi, signal (and maybe the new battery ) are. Can you picture it?? I think it would look amazing with the color scheme of your ROM. I wish I knew how to do it, I would start trying to make it right now. Also, maybe a green gmail icon to match?? Like the one in the TB when you get a new email? Haha, I'm obsessed with this ROM, hope you don't mind the suggestions

I have been looking through a lot of these requests, and I have to say +1 to all of them. Rotary Lockscreen would be awesome, and the circle battery indicator is something I greatly miss from the last rom I had. Something that is a concern to me is that the more that is added into the rom, the slower it gets. What is the potential slow down with all of these possible things being added into it?

Just like every other Mod, they will be optional zips that you flash in recovery. You want the circle battery, flash in recovery. You want the Vanilla LS, flash in recovery. They're modifications not a part of the actual ROM
For me, one thing is REALLY stopping me from flashing the Incredibly Re-Engineered is the fact that I REALLY need the Spanish package for SMS in Spanish.
So it will really be WAY nice to flash your ROM and then integrate the Spanish package into it.

No problem dude. I'm probably less skilled at themeing than you are. I wish I was good at photoshop/gimp but I'm too busy (read: lazy) to learn.
Yeah, it always SEEMS like other Roms (read: cyanogen) have better themes than we do.
Frist of all great theme man. Honeycomb touch looks great.
I came across few small problem nothing big but text on the buttons seems a little overflowing e.g., "send" on send button next to keyboard on gtalk or any button text in linpack or titanium backup. Buttons are little disproportionate to the text. See if you can do something about that.
Two more thing: popup buttons (the round ones with down arrowhead on them) they looks a little choppy specially on white backgroud
Black on black problem is there on few screens such as gmail -> menu -> more or Google reader -> menu -> more
did you see that ecf updated his theme to version 2 he updated a few things i converted it with wugport but all my text is black now instead of while. Can you teach me how you made it to white.
I have never tried working with theming until this 3.4.2 ROM. The day Wugfresh posted the deodex zip, I started learning. I have definitely learned quite a bit especially being the first thing I did was make the battery read in 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, ..., 100. The watermarked theme I ported over from Apex 1.4.0 came out pretty good and is located here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SX7RURP0
Feel free to use this framework to make the battery read in the increments listed above.

when scrolling through running processes, manage applications, as I scroll the background changes from white to the theme color (blue)
I cannot find anywhere in the theme where that background is ( in this case blue)
guessing it has to be in framework res or system
Help? Pleas, its all I need for my theme to be complete

On What ROM is this?
Are you talking about the overscroll effect on CM?
Screen shots would help us answer better too.

its MIUI and the Kobalt theme, I have no clue what overscroll effect means. But I would have to say no, with the knowledge I have.
Go to running processes,(or manage applications) the screen is white , as your finger scrolls the screen, it turns (in my case blue)
sorry I know all this sounds stupid, but I have about 80 hours into learning all this theming , Damn I learned how to get rid of everything on the status bar THAT was tough just cannot figure out where this background screen is
and yes I'll get some shots I am sure it will help
THANKS cannot wait to get this theme up. you will be the first I tell LOL
Are you on MIUI's latest build...2.3...? I could've answered off my head if you were on CM...just checking what MIUI build to dig into. Will also help other members reading this as well.

Yes it is. Btw I was a huge fan of CM, but damn the arguing and *****ing.....nightly builds (which I learned to skip several and wait) broke more than it fixed IMO
Still have it and still go back and forth, somewhat, , BUT I am really enjoying MIUI's "clean " UI
anyhow
tinkered alot with this one issue, and as you know, make one change, put it all together, and hmmmmm not that, so after about 20 of that I came here.
BTW gonna need somebody to test this when I am ready EVO4g, hard to believe I rooted my evo late March and I am at this point. My PC hacking days (mid 90's) have helped LOL
AND so you know I am not a kid, 55 and retired (33 years firefighter) everyone asked
whatcha gonna do with all that time.....LOL found it, for now
I could try it on my EVO for you if need be...I am on the same boat myself but with CM theme chooser. Lemme know once its ready. I will try dig into MIUI to see what I can find.
Fact about MIUI: the MIUI developers in China are implementing a new UI over the course of several weeks and some things are still buggy/half finished. This has been taking place since MIUI changed to gingerbread and anyone who's been running MIUI for a while remembers running apps in "compatibility mode" to make text appear. Graphics glitches have gotten better and better with each GB build of the ROM.
I have a theory: Since the devs began implementing these UI changes, I have also seen the effect that you are talking about, though it has decreased in frequency with every new build. It should also be noted that the color (which you described as blue) changes with whatever theme I'm running. I believe it to be a "glitch" in the UI due to lack of compatibility with certain devices or apps. The benefits of MIUI far outweigh such small glitches for me and I continue to run the ROM but that's the closest I can come to explaining the effect.

I believe your right, but my issue is......whether its the theme or the rom (your point) but hey its all fun , if you want I'll send you the theme also. I am digging this (70's) talk lol
see if I am right though, the MIUI stock rom is mostly orange, whereas the Kobalt is blue, BUT as you say ( follow me) change orange to blue and ???? I have changed several of Kobalts " backgrounds" (phone, toggles etc) to a plain blue. So maybe the stock MIUI rom is reading this light blue as a much darker blue. Make sense? What you posted does make sense to me.
Guess the only way to see all this is for me to send ya'll (southern) the theme
THANKS
Hmmm, upon re-reading the entire thread I feel as though I may have mis-interpreted your original question but yes, what you said makes perfect sense. Obviously some element of the themes is changing that background color but I'm not nearly advanced enough of a themer to begin to tell you where to look. If you were suggesting that you need someone else to run the "kobalt" theme to check for the same issue/see the color then I'm down to "dig" it, haha.

I agree what help, above and beyond, CM 3 pages of bashing I-phones HUH????
It comes from the cacheColorHint in the xml. a lot of apps have it that way but the background is the same color. do a search through the xml for cacheColorHint
Here it is
Well it is still not 100% done
so in a nutshell:
bootscreen is a re-do of cyanagen mod 7 (cannot find the original dev to give credit) took the text out and redid colors to blue
most everything else was hacked from kobalt blue
keyboard was from (i believe) honeybread theme
clock should not show up as I use a widget called make your own clock
a superb prog that puts it in text also allows battery % internal space used etc
mine is all blue to match the theme
revamped status bar as most of what was on it was redundant, use widgets on main screen ( again, make your own clock)
all I left was 3g data tx in green. Tried blue but I believe green catches ones eye quickly if no signal. bluetooth, and gps will show up in blue on status,( Side note, GPS was a ***** to do but IMO looks cool when it acquires the signal)
No wallpaper, IMO battery drain plus the blue on black looks good.
you will see I left some of Kobalts backscreens in , phone call and some others
toggle screen redone, also found a cool app that will show signal strength in dbm, no bars just text, IE. signal -98dbm, also can change to blue (this was a 4 hour project to find the one to fit the theme) it is called clarius signal. I use: one click widget, for brightness and volume. I use widget locker for my LS and have it all blue minimal text with Make your clock widget for time
Still left:
minor inconsistencies with colors ( backgrounds, static screens ETC) That is what started this thread LOL
SMS: could not find a way to alter Kobalts, gotta spend more time
Kobalts lock screen (easy to do just gotta get to it)
SO if any one wants to assist with getting more blue, jump right in, I only ask if you do, to zip it up and share. When it is all done we will share the credit
REMEMBER to change zip to mtz (for the noobs)
ENJOY ( I am at easily 100+ hours , trial and error as I go) Lots of PATIENCE
Damn just noticed 8 mb on zip upload....hmmmm gotta change game plan
This should work

My original question w/sshots, this is manage apps, the white is statis the blue is scrolling. The blue is what I want to find to lighten up.
I do not see cacheColorHint in any xml's
