Hi all. I've ported (read: kanged) ECFfighter's Honeybread Theme for 3.4.2 ONLY. Just a little something to hold people over till the REAL themes and Roms start to drop.
All credit goes to:
+ ECFfighter for his awesome theme
+ P3droid for 3.4.2
Thanks to:
+ Wugfresh for his theme porter script
+ UnkleDuke for pointing me to colorchangev3.jar
+ cvhovey for helping me out with the 10% battery icons
Let me know if there are any problems.
As always, use this at your own risk.

The only thing I can see is the vibrate lockscreen tab doesn't show (it's invisible). That's pretty much it. By rough, I meant it was a quick port. There isn't anything really wrong with it.
So apparently, this has been downloaded about 20 times. I'm guessing there are no issues?
The battery icon on the status bar is displaying the wrong percentage.

Please elaborate; mine seems fine. I haven't found 10% icons for this battery type so we're stuck with 20% for now.

If you have the images, I can do it for you. Recompiling this framework is kind of a long process since the .9.png files are broken.
Edit:
cvhovey: what Bur apps did you freeze?

(...nevermind...)
One more favor. Can you send me the stock/unmodified framework-res.apk? I don't have access to it at the moment.
Thanks
(...nevermind...)
I'll upload the updated port when I get home (30mins).
Thanks

Sorry about that. It seems to only display 80%. I charge my phone up all the way and it says that I have 80% battery life on the status bar. I it has to to with the 20% icons now that you mention it.
OP is updated and now has 10% battery meter.
Sorry it took so long; I had to redo the images from scrap. Thank God for the UOT battery kitchen.
Also thanks to Cvhovey for the help.

No problem dude. I'm probably less skilled at themeing than you are. I wish I was good at photoshop/gimp but I'm too busy (read: lazy) to learn.
Yeah, it always SEEMS like other Roms (read: cyanogen) have better themes than we do.
Frist of all great theme man. Honeycomb touch looks great.
I came across few small problem nothing big but text on the buttons seems a little overflowing e.g., "send" on send button next to keyboard on gtalk or any button text in linpack or titanium backup. Buttons are little disproportionate to the text. See if you can do something about that.
Two more thing: popup buttons (the round ones with down arrowhead on them) they looks a little choppy specially on white backgroud
Black on black problem is there on few screens such as gmail -> menu -> more or Google reader -> menu -> more
did you see that ecf updated his theme to version 2 he updated a few things i converted it with wugport but all my text is black now instead of while. Can you teach me how you made it to white.
I have never tried working with theming until this 3.4.2 ROM. The day Wugfresh posted the deodex zip, I started learning. I have definitely learned quite a bit especially being the first thing I did was make the battery read in 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, ..., 100. The watermarked theme I ported over from Apex 1.4.0 came out pretty good and is located here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SX7RURP0
Feel free to use this framework to make the battery read in the increments listed above.

First off, let me just say that this forum rocks. Compared to other forums, this one has the best and most talented folks!
Here's what I'm trying to do... As I browse through all of these wonderful themes and customizations, I'd like to take bits & pieces from each and make my own custom theme.
I'm running stock sense and using LauncherPro Plus. I really just want to add the following elements:
Glowing circle battery icon
50% shade notifications
Darkstar custom font
Hide location icon
Custom status bar icon colors (see attached)
yellow clock
yellow 3g signal
blue bluetooth icon
red mute/silent mode
green wi-fi signal
Then, have all of this in one, easy, neat update.zip file. Is this possible? I've read posts about using MetaMorph, but I don't think you can customize these pieces individually, correct?
Thanks!!
I'm alnmost done with this =) I also added the transition and nontifcation bar transitions
Excellent!! Thank you!! I can't wait to see it!!!

Me too! Kinda what I'd want as well.
I think Pimp**** ran into some problems with his new theme. Not sure when he'll have time for this now. :-(
I would love to see this as well. Anyone making progress? I'll test or help where i can.

I'm glad there's sooo much interest for these status bar icons! I can't believe no one has done this yet. The stock icons are so "blah". I'm even surprised when browsing all of the custom ROM's out there!! A lot of black, white & gray.... no one likes to use color?!? LOL
Hi all. I have found lots of good mods on this site and finally took the time to consolidate the ones I like into a single package. I also went through and colorized a lot of the notification bar icons. The file is too big to uplaod here, so I have provided a Rapidshare link. The following is included in the file:
1. Smooth Sense Icons
2. Additional colorized icons
3. 50% transparent notification panel
Please let me know what you think and/or if you like this. I have attached a couple of screen shots for your viewing pleasure.

I saw these first in the Virtuous thread as I am running 3.1 and was previously running incredible theme with older versions of virtuous and waiting for someone to do some themeing with newer framework. Are you using newer framework? Not that I'm sure it matters as this is not as extensive as the incredible theme in which it replaced lots of recently updated system apps.
But I do have a question for you. Any way to get rid of the location Icon which I have become use to not seeing in my bar? All though it is attractive.
And a couple of the icons like the headphones, headphones w/mic and tty are jumbled up just as they always have been in smooth sense. I had broght this to jeric's attention long before but was not worth correcting I guess.
Great work buddy!

No, it does not use the new framework. As I said, it is a something I put together with mods I use and like that are already out there. I am no expert on mods. I colorized the icons so it would look nicer on the phone. I can look into getting rid of the location icon, but if you want me to do this, please PM me and I will look into it. Thanks for the kind words.
Post your request for various mods you would like to see here guys!
not sure if its able to be done, but the "deathray/high brightness" mode on torch.apk doesnt work. i got so used to the REALLY bright led flashlight, now the normal one looks dull.
4x5 Gingerbread Rosies
Rotary lockscreen with controls
Myself and the 5-6 people I am updating phones for would really like a theme for 2.2 that looks just like 1.1. 1.1 is perfect.
Working Voicemail indicator - Flashable
Multi-Color Smooth Sense Circle battery - flashable
Location to see signal strength in the ROM?
Rosie remap function not working via Rosie Settings
Great ROM - thanks for building, maintaining, and for the tremendous support!
RNDIS support
Any chance you could include RNDIS support so wired tether will work?
I've tried other kernels but they don't boot (kings in particular)
Right now using the 2.20 install defaults I don't have either the usb or rndis directories:
/sys/devices/virtual/net/usb0/enable
or
/sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/rndis/enable
I know wifi tether is all the hotness, but it's not as reliable as wired tether and I prefer wired (some of my equipment doesn't have wifi capabilities)
I'm a huge fan of the circle batteries. I like jdban's idea of the battery matching the other green icons (Wifi, Signal, etc) anyway you could make something like this http://androidforums.com/incredible-...rcentages.html with the actual percentage (1-99) in the middle and matching green color like the other icons? I think it would look sick! I usually don't like green colors on the Inc but I really dig the look of this and think adding to it will only increase it's freshness.
You know what else I think would look sick? The vanilla lockscreen from Warm (Black buttons with white highlights and no tabs) instead of the white, though make it the same color green that the wifi, signal (and maybe the new battery ) are. Can you picture it?? I think it would look amazing with the color scheme of your ROM. I wish I knew how to do it, I would start trying to make it right now. Also, maybe a green gmail icon to match?? Like the one in the TB when you get a new email? Haha, I'm obsessed with this ROM, hope you don't mind the suggestions

I have been looking through a lot of these requests, and I have to say +1 to all of them. Rotary Lockscreen would be awesome, and the circle battery indicator is something I greatly miss from the last rom I had. Something that is a concern to me is that the more that is added into the rom, the slower it gets. What is the potential slow down with all of these possible things being added into it?

Just like every other Mod, they will be optional zips that you flash in recovery. You want the circle battery, flash in recovery. You want the Vanilla LS, flash in recovery. They're modifications not a part of the actual ROM
For me, one thing is REALLY stopping me from flashing the Incredibly Re-Engineered is the fact that I REALLY need the Spanish package for SMS in Spanish.
So it will really be WAY nice to flash your ROM and then integrate the Spanish package into it.
Thank you SO MUCH.
full blue tooth support so i can play snes with my tv and a wii remote on my phone. or integrated wiimote support.
Stock Theme
A stock theme with all the optimizations or something closer to the 1.1 theme.
The market and gmail changes are cool but i'm old hat.
Thanks!
Flashable VM Indicator Fix
This dropped back in November when Myn's 2.2 VM Indicator was wonky.
I flashed on Incredibly Re-Engineered, v 2.2; it works.
hth those that had interest and were waiting for a fix.
Kind regards.

I cannot find anywhere in the theme where that background is ( in this case blue)
guessing it has to be in framework res or system

its MIUI and the Kobalt theme, I have no clue what overscroll effect means. But I would have to say no, with the knowledge I have.
Go to running processes,(or manage applications) the screen is white , as your finger scrolls the screen, it turns (in my case blue)
sorry I know all this sounds stupid, but I have about 80 hours into learning all this theming , Damn I learned how to get rid of everything on the status bar THAT was tough just cannot figure out where this background screen is
and yes I'll get some shots I am sure it will help
THANKS cannot wait to get this theme up. you will be the first I tell LOL

Yes it is. Btw I was a huge fan of CM, but damn the arguing and *****ing.....nightly builds (which I learned to skip several and wait) broke more than it fixed IMO
Still have it and still go back and forth, somewhat, , BUT I am really enjoying MIUI's "clean " UI
anyhow
tinkered alot with this one issue, and as you know, make one change, put it all together, and hmmmmm not that, so after about 20 of that I came here.
BTW gonna need somebody to test this when I am ready EVO4g, hard to believe I rooted my evo late March and I am at this point. My PC hacking days (mid 90's) have helped LOL
AND so you know I am not a kid, 55 and retired (33 years firefighter) everyone asked
whatcha gonna do with all that time.....LOL found it, for now
I could try it on my EVO for you if need be...I am on the same boat myself but with CM theme chooser. Lemme know once its ready. I will try dig into MIUI to see what I can find.
Fact about MIUI: the MIUI developers in China are implementing a new UI over the course of several weeks and some things are still buggy/half finished. This has been taking place since MIUI changed to gingerbread and anyone who's been running MIUI for a while remembers running apps in "compatibility mode" to make text appear. Graphics glitches have gotten better and better with each GB build of the ROM.
I have a theory: Since the devs began implementing these UI changes, I have also seen the effect that you are talking about, though it has decreased in frequency with every new build. It should also be noted that the color (which you described as blue) changes with whatever theme I'm running. I believe it to be a "glitch" in the UI due to lack of compatibility with certain devices or apps. The benefits of MIUI far outweigh such small glitches for me and I continue to run the ROM but that's the closest I can come to explaining the effect.

I believe your right, but my issue is......whether its the theme or the rom (your point) but hey its all fun , if you want I'll send you the theme also. I am digging this (70's) talk lol
see if I am right though, the MIUI stock rom is mostly orange, whereas the Kobalt is blue, BUT as you say ( follow me) change orange to blue and ???? I have changed several of Kobalts " backgrounds" (phone, toggles etc) to a plain blue. So maybe the stock MIUI rom is reading this light blue as a much darker blue. Make sense? What you posted does make sense to me.
Guess the only way to see all this is for me to send ya'll (southern) the theme
THANKS
Hmmm, upon re-reading the entire thread I feel as though I may have mis-interpreted your original question but yes, what you said makes perfect sense. Obviously some element of the themes is changing that background color but I'm not nearly advanced enough of a themer to begin to tell you where to look. If you were suggesting that you need someone else to run the "kobalt" theme to check for the same issue/see the color then I'm down to "dig" it, haha.

I agree what help, above and beyond, CM 3 pages of bashing I-phones HUH????
It comes from the cacheColorHint in the xml. a lot of apps have it that way but the background is the same color. do a search through the xml for cacheColorHint
Here it is
Well it is still not 100% done
so in a nutshell:
bootscreen is a re-do of cyanagen mod 7 (cannot find the original dev to give credit) took the text out and redid colors to blue
most everything else was hacked from kobalt blue
keyboard was from (i believe) honeybread theme
clock should not show up as I use a widget called make your own clock
a superb prog that puts it in text also allows battery % internal space used etc
mine is all blue to match the theme
revamped status bar as most of what was on it was redundant, use widgets on main screen ( again, make your own clock)
all I left was 3g data tx in green. Tried blue but I believe green catches ones eye quickly if no signal. bluetooth, and gps will show up in blue on status,( Side note, GPS was a ***** to do but IMO looks cool when it acquires the signal)
No wallpaper, IMO battery drain plus the blue on black looks good.
you will see I left some of Kobalts backscreens in , phone call and some others
toggle screen redone, also found a cool app that will show signal strength in dbm, no bars just text, IE. signal -98dbm, also can change to blue (this was a 4 hour project to find the one to fit the theme) it is called clarius signal. I use: one click widget, for brightness and volume. I use widget locker for my LS and have it all blue minimal text with Make your clock widget for time
Still left:
minor inconsistencies with colors ( backgrounds, static screens ETC) That is what started this thread LOL
SMS: could not find a way to alter Kobalts, gotta spend more time
Kobalts lock screen (easy to do just gotta get to it)
SO if any one wants to assist with getting more blue, jump right in, I only ask if you do, to zip it up and share. When it is all done we will share the credit
REMEMBER to change zip to mtz (for the noobs)
ENJOY ( I am at easily 100+ hours , trial and error as I go) Lots of PATIENCE
Damn just noticed 8 mb on zip upload....hmmmm gotta change game plan
This should work

I do not see cacheColorHint in any xml's

Hey Friends,
I've mixed up a theme with the classic Gingerbread Icons (exept the battery).
This theme is made on the base of the "Meizu Dark theme" from natious (you will see some colors and impressions of this)
so thanks a lot.
Sorry, the screenshots are a little crap
Update:
Now I use the Installation file from Meizu Dark with the most of natious themed apks. It shut be complett. My sugestion is replace the bootanimation with the "Particel ring" and flash the themed calendar.apk from sohrab1985. Looks great.
If you don't like the Battery, you can change it with the UOT Kitchen
New Version:
add providersettings.apk from meizu Dark
add calculator.apk from meizu Dark
add settings.apk
add swipe.apk from meizu Dark
add mms.apk from meizu Dark
add contacts.apk from meizu Dark
add a few fonts from meizu Dark
Download:
http://netload.in/dateiHEfqugMCfO/GreengerBlack1.1.zip.htm
Have fun and keep it simple
Please, tell me if there any problems.
look great... testing now.
great theme but i love blue on black or white on black ... but still great theme well done

Use UTO kitchen to change the battery. Just go to the page, make your choise and upload the systemUI.apk (root/system/app) and the framework-res.apk (root/system/framework). UTO Kitchen works not at every option but for change the Battery does it work.

This is a great theme, thanks a lot for sharing! But I have a quick question:
Is there is a very plain and basic 100% Stock Gingerbread Theme for KRATOS?... just the 100% stock mostly BLACK (which saves battery) along with orange highlights that comes straight from Google... nothing else or modified just stock, no more no less!
Thanks for the advice.

I can try it at the Weekend but I can not do any promise. If you have other wishes or suggestions, tell me. Maybe you like 6 Bottens in the quick setting bar for example.
Btw: I'm just a expirienced user so I have no special skills to do this. I also have no original GB Themed device so I don't know how the Stock theme looks exactly but I'll do my best.

Thank you very much for your reply. I am not sure which the Quick Settings button is that you refer but its OK, the only thing basically I would like is to strip out all customizations that Samsung and the KRATOS chef did, and have a lean and plain stock Gingerbread like Ive seen n most phones. Its a pure battery-saving theme with most screens using black background and highlighted items are orange. If you can look at a few standard phones with Gingerbread in it they will all look the same kind of like this. It is actually the most simple and cleanest interface.
Anyway, thank you VERY MUCH for your interest and effort and I look forward when you have time to try it and give you feedback. I know many other members and users of the galaxy tab would appreciate having a stock Android look on their machine that has been impossible because of the changes Samsung made to their ROMs.

HELP with some elements
Its been a while I posted on this great thread and have since then done a lot of customization on my Tab but now stuck on 5 key elements id like to know if someone can help me:
1) How do I change the background color of the Phone App? On all 5 tabs of he phone app (Dialer, Logs, Contacts, Groups, Favorites + the outgoing dialing screen itself) the background is White. I want it changed to black but dont seem to locate the file. I was successful in changing the background color to black on the incoming call screen (the files are call_incoming_bg.png and call_incoming_bg_h.png on the phone.apk and just made them black and that's it)... looks super nice. But for the outgoing calls screen and phone app itself, its all still white and I dont know where to edit or if there is a PNG file that control the background.. I dont seem to know where it is (see attachments 1 & 2)
2) I wanted to change the Missed Call icon with a custom I made that I already and use on the top taskbar, that was very easy (its the stat_notify_missed_call.png in framework-res.apk). But the same icon that's displayed in the phone's Log tab I dont seem to locate where it is and to my surprise its NOT in the phone.apk. Can someone tell me where that file is? (see attachment 3)
3) I have managed to successfully tweak many of the elements of the notification pull down menu, like giving it transparency in certain parts on bottom and top, but I cant control color or transparency of the background of the ONGOING operations that have a fixed white background and that id like to change. (see attachment 3) Equally, Id like to change the color and some of the wordings of the WIFI, BLUETOOTH, GPS, SILENT, ORIENTATION LOCK functions. Where can I edit those?
4) Where can I edit the white background color of the pop-up Power-Off menu on the tab that is white (see attachment 5)? I edited the icons easily from the framework-res.apk but dont seem to know what controls the background color..
5) Finally, which files control the blues that usually are displayed in most dialog pop-ups and dialogues? I want to change them to black and grey but have no idea where they are located and which files I should edit.
