To Hard reset and delete everything from your phone and then let the rom reload everything back to factory settings, do the following.
1. Remove SD card
2. Hold down the 'Windows Icon' Button and the 'OK' button at the same time and keep them held in.
3. While still holding in the above 2 buttons, use the stylus and press the reset button in and then release it but you must still keep the 'Windows' button and the 'OK' button still in until you are prompted with a menu.
4. Once the menu appears: press 'Send' button to reset and reload rom or any other button to cancel.
I had the same problem.

HTC Menu problem

Hi all,
I have HTC HD with Dutty 4.3 Rom. After I installed some programs (not sure which, probably HTC_Settings_Tool) I lost finger friendly HTC Menu and now I have normal windows menu. Is it possible to switch it on again?? Soft reset doesn't help
Hard reset and when resintalling your apps take notice which one is causing the prob.
"HTC Touch HD hard reset
You can also perform a hard reset (also known as a full reset). A hard reset should only be performed if a normal reset does not solve a system problem. After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings—the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Make sure that any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before you perform a hard reset
Important If Encrypt files when placed on a storage card is enabled, backup all files from the storage card before using Clear Storage, hard reset, or updating the ROM system software. Otherwise you will no longer be able to access the encrypted files on the storage card. Use ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center to transfer files between your storage card and computer. After the procedure, copy your files back to the storage card.
To perform a HTC Touch HD hard reset
1. Power the device off completely i.e. press and hold the power button until you get asked what you want and select "Turn off". Otherwise, if you just briefly press the power button the machine appears to turn off but actually stays in "Sleep" mode with phone, alarms and various other funtions still running. 2. Press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button. 3. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen: 4. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons. 5. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset."

Hope it helps,

HTC HD2 not working

Hi,
I turned off my phone yesterday and then when I tried to turn it on again it got stuck at the white screen that appears at first - it shows the HTC logo and the information about the software in red letters. I waited for a few minutes but nothing happened, then I reset it from the button under the back cover and still the same thing happened - it stuck at the same point. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks so much in advance!
Sounds strange, i would try to do a hard reset, but you´ll lose all your data on the device if you do this!
Any other ideas?

To hard reset your phone which means to delete ALL personal data and settings and have the phone in factory default conditions as if you turned on the phone for the first time after purchasing, press the following buttons:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer defaults, or press other keys to cancel."
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings.
2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
If you have HSPL applied, you could be able to use MTTY method and upload new ROM.
Mtty tool recovery is nothing to mess with, it is a last resort. If you don't know what you are doing, you can easily kill your phone.
Do a hard reset, if that doesn't work, ( I anm assuming that since this is your first post, you do not have a custom rom ) find a copy of your rom and re flash it. But try severral hart resets first.
Thanks to all of you guys. The hard reset did the trick. I had my data backed up on the SD card so I will restore it from there. Thanks for the help.

Did you do anything before it got to this stage such as install a new app or theme ?
If you did then try one of the threads listed here http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&safe...S3Dg&sqi=2&ved=0CCEQrQIwAA&fp=fb65bc885a9abf7
If you didn't do anything and it just won't start then try a soft reboot (take off the battery cover and there is a red reset button under the stylus)
As a last resort and i mean last as this will lose anything that you haven't backed up including contacts stored to phone , programs installed to phone and messages etc you can do a hard reset.
Before doing a hard reset i strongly recommend you have a look around the forum and see if you can find a backup utility that will back everything up to your pc and will save you time and having to lose everything.(can't recommend one to use as i really don't have all that much to backup on mine so have never bothered)
To do a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see a message on the screen telling you all data will be lost.
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
A hard reset will restore all factory settings but please note this will remove anything that you have added to the ROM that is on there from programs to contacts and messages.

[Resolved] Lenovo S720 Hard/Factory Reset

Recently my Lenovo S720 phone was locked due to "Too many pattern attempts". Wifi was not enabled so I can't authenticate to unlock it. Also tried few ADB methods to no avail.
I decided to perform a hard reset after many hours spent. For those who wish to do the same thing for whatever reason, you may follow this method:
1) Power off
2) Press Camera button (keep pressing) then press Power button.
-> This will bring the phone to "Meta Mode" (see attached image).
3) Wait 5 seconds until "Factory Mode" (see attached image) menu appears.
-> If factory mode doesn't appear, press volume up/down button.
4) Select "Clear eMMC". Use Volume +/- to move up or down in the menu.
-> Use Back soft button to go back to previous selection.
5) Press Home soft button to initiate hard/factory reset.
-> Phone will reboot automatically after a successful reset.
That's it!
IMPORTANT: Factory reset will totally wipe out your data.
