Droid X bootscreen with sound Now flashable - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

I finally figured out how to add sound to a bootscreen. I've attached the file if anyone would like to use it. Thanks go to sdotcarlisle for the original port of the bootscreen. Thanks to zachg432 for making the flashable zip. Attached below (droidboot.zip). You still need to remove your old bootscreen.

There is a post over on the eris development page that has what your looking for, a guide.its on the first it second page. Maybe third. Good luck

im running Fresh 2.3.3, i used Root Explorer to place the zip in the system/media folder, but that didnt do anything at all, it still booted with my normal boot screen.

Try unzipping it first then put it in the folder I think that might have been how I did. Also did you try deleting your old bootscreen?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App

should i delete the things in the bootscreen folder and then copy the contents of the zip

Either that or just delete the entire folder and add the folder from the zip.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App

it works, but stupid me forgot to take my phone off of vibrate, ill turn the volume on and reboot it again, thank u for the X-tremely cool boot, lol.
update: the sound works! this is freaking cool! thanks a lot dude! btw, i rated this thread 5 stars

Hi webstar1,
thank you for the hack! Unofrtunately it doesnt work on my megajump. I use Motorola Defy with Motoblur and have a different folder for the GSGPrefs.xml. It is in /data/data/com.getsetgames.megajump/shared_prefs/GSGPrefs.xml.
I killed the app and changed the mp value but when I start the game it gets back to the original value in the file and in the store. Has this been fixed?
Edit: OK I got it! You hava to delete the .bak file, which is created when you edit the original one

I can't seem to find the folder on my HTC DHD, don't have the DBData folder and the only folder named "com.getsetgames.megajump-1" is in mnt/asec and inside there is just 1 file named pkg.apk.
Does anyone have a DHD and can enlighten me as to what to do?

Oh, one more thing. How did you edit the line?
I had to move the GSGPrefs.xml file to my SDcard, install another app called "SilverEdit" which could edit XML files, edited it, moved it back with Root Explorer and only then it worked.
I got ADB but I have no idea how to use it XD
If you could tell me how you edited it, i would be greatly apreciative!

I know this is a bit late now, but I can't find the backup file. So every time I open up Mega Jump, the MP goes back to what it was.

Edit:
don't worry, I've tried a different app and it worked. cheers

You don't need recovery to install it. If it's the actual bootanimation.zip file from inside a rom, you can just paste it over the current one in /system/media with root explorer or advanced push. Be sure to mount /system as r/w to copy it over.

You shouldn't flash the boot animation. Just replace the one located in /system/customize/resource with the stock animation .zip...make sure you name it the same name of the boot animation that was included in your rom.

I really want a new boot animation...
As long as they are Edify compatible which I just checked the MW3 one, and it is EDIFY compatible, then yeah flash away.
Or
Just take the bootanimation.zip out of the zip and stick it in /system/media on your phone.
Bam done

Perhaps, permissions. Just take the bootanimation.zip out of the downloaded zip and drop it (adb push, root explorer etc. move it to /system/media)

Use a file manager with root access and copy the zip file to system/media deleting the old one first then rename to bootanimation.zip. edit:beat me to the answer

how to make a flashable .zip to instal thru cwm

is it hard to make a app install and overwrite the existing one using a flashable zip..???
Not really. The easiest way is to take an existing flashable zip and modify it to do what you want. That's what I do, anyway.
